What I want

Summary:

He scored a hat-trick tonight. But the only thing he really wants is waiting in room 412.

4months of silence. One World Cup quarter-final. And Erling Haaland at Jude Bellingham's door with hunger in his eyes and nothing left to lose. No barriers. No games. Just the two of them, finally saying what they've been too scared to say and taking it, rough and raw.

Work Text:

The noise hit him like a wave, hot and full of sweat, salt and victory.

Hard Rock Stadium had emptied of its English hopes in the seventy-third minute, when Haaland had collected a through ball on his chest, let it drop over his standing leg, and hammered it past Pickford's outstretched glove into the roof of the net. Third time. Hat-trick. The Norwegian end had become a blue-and-red avalanche of sound, and now, forty minutes later, the dressing room still hummed with it.

Haaland sat on the bench with his shin guards peeled off, calves still singing from the run. Ødegaard had an arm around his shoulder, singing something in Norwegian, a drinking song from Bergen, the one about the fisherman's daughter and the rest of the squad had picked it up, voices bouncing off the concrete walls. Someone had found a speaker. Someone else was spraying what looked like sparkling water, Haaland hoped it was sparkling water, over the heads of the defensive line.

He laughed, let himself be pulled into it, let the joy of it press against his chest like a second heart. Four years of work. Four years of mornings when his body had screamed at him to stop, of nights when he'd watched footage until his eyes blurred. And now this. A semi-final. Switzerland or Argentina waiting. Let them come.

He tilted his head back to drain a bottle of electrolytes and saw the door was open.

Someone had propped it with a kit bag, letting a wedge of corridor light spill across the tiles. And through that wedge, walking past with his back to the celebration, was a figure Haaland would have recognised in silhouette, in smoke, in the dark of a room with no windows at all.

Jude.

Same broad shoulders, that particular way he carried himself upright, composed, like he was walking onto a pitch even in a corridor. Tracksuit zipped to his throat. Bag slung over one shoulder. Head down.

Haaland didn't decide to move. His body did it for him, stood, stepped around Ødegaard's outstretched legs, past the huddle of midfielders singing off-key, past the speaker, past the sparkling-water spray. The door swallowed him.

The corridor was tiled in Miami Dolphins aqua and white, fluorescent lights humming overhead. Jude was already ten metres ahead, walking toward the exit where the team buses idled.

"Jude."

The name came out rougher than Haaland meant it to. He hadn't said it aloud in 4 months. Had kept it locked behind his teeth like a splinter he couldn't dig out.

Jude stopped. But he didn't turn around.

"Jude. Please."

A beat. Two. Then Jude turned, and his face was a door that had been closed and locked and bolted from the inside. His jaw was set, his dark eyes flat. The bitterness in them was something Haaland had never seen on him before, not during a loss, not during a bad call, not during the worst of their arguments.

"Go back to your team, Erling." Jude's voice was steady. "Celebrate. You earned it."

"I know I did." Haaland took a step closer. "And you played — "

"Don't."

"You played well. The first half — that pass to Kane, the run you made in the first half, innovative."

Jude's chin lifted a fraction. His hand tightened on the strap of his bag. "Is that why you came out here? To give me a performance review?"

"No."

"Then what?"

Haaland hadn't planned this. He hadn't planned any of it, not the goal, not the win, not the sight of Jude walking past that door. His mouth was dry. His heart, which had been steady through a hundred and twenty metres of running, was beating somewhere in his throat.

"I wanted to tell you I'm proud of you."

Jude's expression flickered. Something moved behind his eyes, a crack in the door, a sliver of light. He looked at Haaland properly then, took him in, the sweat-damp hair that had come loose from its tie, the flush still high on his cheeks, the way he was standing there in his strip and boots like he'd chased him down the corridor without thinking.

"You don't look like you're gloating," Jude said quietly.

"I'm not."

"You don't look like you want to rub it in."

"I never wanted that."

Jude exhaled. The set of his shoulders softened by a degree. "You played well too. The second goal — nobody saw that run coming. Not even your own midfield."

"The first goal was luck. The cross, it — "

"It wasn't luck, Erling. You read the space. You always read it. That's what makes you..." Jude stopped. Shook his head. "Good luck in the semi-final. I mean that."

"Thank you."

Silence. The fluorescent hum filled it.

"Are you well?" Haaland asked.

The question hung between them like a thing that had weight, that had mass, that could be held.

Jude's jaw worked. "You've had 4 months, Erling. 4 months to ask me that since we last met. You've had my number. You've had my — " He stopped again, pressed his lips together. "You wait until I'm walking out of a stadium where I just lost a World Cup quarter-final to you. That's when you ask if I'm well."

Haaland's throat tightened. "I was scared."

"Of what?"

"Of finding out you'd moved on. Of finding out you didn't — that I'd lost you. That whatever we had was gone and I'd burned it and you didn't want to see me again."

Jude looked at him. The bitterness was fading now, replaced by something rawer. Something that looked like it hurt.

"We'll always be friends, Erling. You know that.”

"I know." Haaland's voice dropped. "I miss when we were more than that."

The words sat between them. Jude's eyes went dark, his lashes lowering. When he spoke, his voice was barely above the hum of the lights.

"I do too."

He looked up. His eyes were wet at the rims, but he wasn't crying. He was holding it the way he held everything, composed, upright, even when it cost him.

"Please," Jude said. "Leave me. I just want to be alone right now."

He turned. Took two steps.

"Jude."

Jude stopped. Didn't turn.

"Don't leave without saying goodbye."

The corridor stretched. The sound of the celebration leaked through the dressing room door, muffled singing, a burst of laughter. Jude stood still for a long moment. Then he turned his head. Looked over his shoulder.

Behind Haaland, the corridor was empty. Behind Jude, the same.

Jude lifted his right hand. He pressed his lips to his four fingers, a kiss, slow and deliberate. And then he reached out and pressed those fingers to Haaland's mouth.

The touch was light. A second. Less.

"Goodbye, Erling."

He dropped his hand. Walked away.

Haaland stood in the fluorescent corridor and felt the ghost of Jude's fingers on his lips. His chest was hollow and full at the same time. The hunger rose in him, deep, aching, a thing he'd learned to ignore. A body he'd learned to forget. But the memory was in his blood now, hot and alive, and he stood there until the exit door swung shut behind Jude Bellingham and the sound of it echoed through the empty corridor.

The England team bus hummed with a different kind of noise. Not celebration, the low, deflated murmur of a squad that had given everything and come up short. Some players had headphones on, staring out the window at the Miami night. Others sat in silence, tracksuit hoods up, cups of water untouched in the cup holders.

Jude climbed aboard and found his seat near the back. He sat. Stared at the floor.

Bukayo slid into the seat beside him. He didn't say anything at first, just sat, letting the silence breathe.

"You alright?"

Jude didn't look up. "Yeah. I just need to rest."

Bukayo watched him for a moment. Then he nodded, pulled his own headphones on, and gave Jude the quiet he'd asked for.

The bus pulled away from Hard Rock Stadium. Through the tinted window, the lights of Miami blurred and bled. Jude closed his eyes and tasted the ghost of his own fingers against his lips, and wished he hadn't.

That night in the hotel the room was dark except for the strip of light bleeding through the curtains Miami's neon glow, pink and white, cutting across the ceiling like a scar.

Jude lay on his back, staring at it.

He'd been staring for three hours. Maybe four. Time had gone liquid, slipping through his fingers every time he tried to grip it. His phone sat face-down on the nightstand, screen dark, and he'd made a pact with himself not to touch it. Not to look. Not to open Instagram or Twitter or WhatsApp or any of the other little black mirrors that would be full of condolences and heart emojis and so unlucky mate and you gave it everything and heads high and all the other words people said when they didn't know what else to say.

He couldn't bear it.

The match running behind his closed eyelids on an endless loop. The seventy-third minute. That through ball. The way Haaland had collected it on his chest, let it drop, let it sit for a fraction of a second too long and then hammered it. The sound of the net. The roar. The silence after.

He should have closed him down faster. He should have seen the run developing. He should have dropped deeper, he should have done something.

His chest felt tight. His jaw ached from clenching.

He turned onto his side, punched the pillow into a different shape, and stared at the wall instead.

The phone buzzed.

Jude didn't move.

It buzzed again. A pause. Again. Another pause. Again.

Four messages. In a row. The kind of cadence that said someone was sitting there, typing, sending, waiting, typing again.

Jude pressed his palm into his eye socket until he saw stars.

Don't look. Don't look. Don't—

He looked.

He reached for the phone, turned it over. The screen lit up his face in the dark.

Erling — four messages, the last one thirty seconds ago.

Jude's thumb hovered.

He opened them.

Erling: Which hotel are you staying at?

Erling: Jude.

Erling: Are you going to answer me?

Erling: I know you see this.

Jude stared at the screen. His thumb moved before his brain caught up.

Jude: Why?

The reply came in under ten seconds.

Erling: I scored a hat-trick today. I deserve to celebrate.

Jude let out a breath that was almost a laugh. Half bitter, half disbelieving. He typed:

Jude: Then celebrate with your teammates.

Three dots appeared. Disappeared. Appeared again.

Erling: I know what I want. The question is whether you'll give it to me.

Jude's pulse jumped. He read the message twice, three times, the words burning into his retinas. The dark room felt smaller suddenly. Hotter.

Jude: Are you serious?

Erling: You know I am.

A pause. Then another message.

Erling: Do you think I deserve it? After today. After the game. Have I been good enough to earn a night with you, Jude?

Jude laughed out loud, a real laugh this time, cracked and surprised, escaping his chest like something that had been trapped there for months. He shook his head at the screen, at the audacity of it, at the sheer fucking nerve of Erling Haaland.

He should say no. He should put the phone down. He should roll over and try to sleep and pretend this conversation never happened.

His fingers typed before he made the decision.

Jude: The Ritz-Carlton. South Beach. Room 412.

He stared at the message he'd sent. His heart was hammering so hard he could feel it in his throat.

Three dots appeared.

Disappeared.

Erling did not write back.

Jude waited. Ten seconds. Twenty. A minute. Nothing.

He let the phone drop onto the mattress beside him and pressed both hands over his face.

"What the fuck," he whispered into his palms. "What the actual fuck are you doing."

He lay back, staring at the ceiling, the pink neon scar still cutting across it. His mind raced through every possible outcome. Erling not coming, Erling coming, Erling coming with his teammates as a joke, Erling coming and it being awkward, Erling coming and it being something else.

He'd gone crazy. That was the only explanation. The loss had broken something in him, and now he was inviting his ex — his ex — to his hotel room in the middle of the night after losing a World Cup quarter-final to him.

Crazy. Completely, irrevocably, certifiably—

A knock.

Jude froze.

The knock came again, three short raps, deliberate, knuckle-on-wood. Not the front desk. Not a teammate checking in. Not room service at 1 AM.

Jude swung his legs off the bed. His bare feet hit the carpet. He was wearing his pyjama bottoms  grey, soft cotton  and a plain white t-shirt, and his hair was a mess, and he probably looked like he'd been crying, which he hadn't, not quite, but close.

He crossed the room.

Opened the door.

Erling stood in the hallway, breathing heavy.

His red t-shirt was dark with sweat at the collar. His hair had come loose from its tie, strands of pale blond stuck to his forehead. His chest was rising and falling like he'd sprinted the whole way, which, knowing Erling, he probably had. From wherever he'd been to here. Through the Miami night. Because he couldn't wait.

He looked down at Jude. His blue eyes were dark in the dim corridor light, pupils blown wide, and there was something in them that made Jude's mouth go dry.

He filled the doorway. That tall, that broad, that impossibly there.

Jude's heart was a fist in his chest.

"Erling."

"Jude."

Erling's voice was low. He stepped forward. Jude stepped back. The door swung shut behind Erling, and the click of the latch was the loudest sound either of them had heard all night.

The room was dark. Just the neon glow through the curtains, painting Erling's face in pink and white, catching the sweat at his temples, the rise and fall of his chest.

He didn't say anything. He just stood there, looking at Jude like he was trying to memorize him. Like the 4 months between them had been compressed into this single moment, this single breath.

Jude's lips parted. He couldn't find words. His whole body was alert, electric, tuned to a frequency he'd forgotten he could feel.

Erling reached out. His hand found Jude's jaw, fingertips on his cheekbone, thumb brushing the corner of his mouth.

His thumb was warm. Rough. The touch sent a current down Jude's spine.

Jude went.

The space between them collapsed. Erling's mouth found his, open, hungry, a thing that had been starved for 4 months and was done waiting. Jude's back hit the door, the impact shuddering through his shoulders, and Erling pressed the full length of himself against him, one hand still fisted in Jude's hair, the other flat on the door beside his head.

The kiss was not gentle. It was an argument. It was the seventy-third minute, the hat-trick, the corridor, the 4 months of silence, all of it poured into the press of tongue against tongue, teeth catching a lower lip, the broken sound Jude made into Erling's mouth.

"You came," Jude said again, because he couldn't believe it. Because Erling was here, in his room, sweat at his temples and fire in his blue eyes, and Jude's pyjama bottoms were doing nothing to hide what his body was already telling him.

"I told you I would." Erling pulled back just enough to look at him. His pupils had swallowed the blue. His chest was still heaving. "I told you I know what I want."

"And what's that?"

Erling's hand slid from the door to Jude's hip. His fingers curled into the waistband of the grey cotton, tugging,  a question, a demand, both at once.

"You."

Jude's breath caught. His hands came up, finally, finding Erling's chest, the damp shirt, the drum of his heart beneath it. The muscle was hard under Jude's palms, the heat of him bleeding through the fabric.

"I don't want to be gentle," Erling said. His voice was low, roughened by something that wasn't just the sprint here. "I've been gentle. I waited. I gave you space. I let 4 months go by because I thought that's what you needed. But I'm done waiting, Jude."

Jude's throat worked. His fingers curled into Erling's shirt. "Then don't."

The sound Erling made was almost an animal thing, low in his chest. His hands found the hem of Jude's t-shirt and pulled it up and over his head in one motion, and Jude let him, arms lifting, the fabric catching on his ears before it came free. The air hit his skin, cold, then hot where Erling's palms landed on his ribs, dragging up, thumbs brushing his nipples.

Jude's head fell back against the door.

"Fuck."

"Yeah." Erling's mouth found his throat, the column of it, the spot where his pulse was a trapped bird. He bit down, not hard enough to break skin, hard enough to leave a mark. Jude's hips bucked forward of their own accord, grinding against the denim of Erling's jeans, and the friction sent a spike of heat through him.

"Bed," Erling said against his skin. "Now."

He stepped back, grabbed the hem of his own shirt, and pulled it off over his head. The neon light caught the planes of his chest, broad, defined, the skin slick with sweat from the run. His stomach tightened as he moved, the muscles there shifting under pale skin, and Jude watched him with a hunger that made his mouth dry. He wanted to lick the salt from every ridge of him.

Jude crossed the room. His legs felt unsteady. The carpet was soft under his bare feet, and the bed loomed ahead of him, white sheets, turned down by housekeeping, waiting. He stopped at the edge of it, turned.

Erling was already there. Close. Too close and not close enough.

His hands found Jude's waist, pushed the pyjama bottoms down over his hips. They pooled at Jude's ankles, and he stepped out of them, naked now, the neon light painting his dark skin in shades of pink and white. Erling's gaze travelled down him — the curve of his shoulders, the flat plane of his stomach, the length of him already half-hard and stirring under the weight of that look. Jude felt the appraisal like a physical touch, hot and slow.

"Lie down," Erling said. Not a request.

Jude went. He crawled backward onto the bed, the sheets cool against his knees, and lay back against the pillows. His heart was loud enough to fill the room. His hands gripped the sheets beside him, and he watched Erling undo his jeans, the zip, the button, the denim sliding down his long legs. He stepped out of them. His boxers followed. And then he was standing there, tall and pale and sculpted in the Miami dark, and Jude's eyes dropped to the length of him, already hard, already thick, the head dark against his stomach. Pre-come glistened at the tip, a thin thread of it catching the neon light.

Jude's mouth went dry.

"Come here," he said.

Erling smiled. It was not a kind smile. It was the smile of a man who knew exactly what he was doing, who had won tonight, who had come here to collect.

He crawled onto the bed, the mattress dipping under his weight. He settled between Jude's spread thighs, his knees bracketing Jude's hips, and looked down at him from that height, all six foot four of him, pale and broad and hungry.

"You have no idea," Erling said, "how many times I imagined this."

"Show me."

Erling's hand found Jude's jaw again, tilting his face up. His thumb dragged across Jude's lower lip, pulling it down, and Jude opened his mouth without thinking, let the thumb slide in. The taste of salt and skin. Erling's eyes went darker. Jude closed his lips around the thumb, sucked, his tongue circling the pad, and watched Erling's composure crack at the edges.

"Fuck," Erling breathed.

He bent down and replaced his thumb with his mouth.

The second kiss was slower, deeper, a thing with intent. Erling's tongue traced the seam of Jude's lips, then pushed inside, and Jude moaned into his mouth, his hands coming up to grip Erling's shoulders. The muscle there was hard under his fingers, the skin warm and damp. He dug his nails in, just a little, and felt Erling's breath hitch.

"That's it," Erling murmured against his lips. "I want to feel you tomorrow. I want you to wake up sore and remember exactly who put that ache in your body."

Jude's laugh was ragged. "Big talk for a man who just in the Miami heat for me."

Erling's hand slid down Jude's chest, over his stomach, lower. His fingers wrapped around Jude's cock , already fully hard now, aching with it and Jude's hips bucked into his grip.

"Let me show you how serious I am."

He lowered himself, kissing down Jude's chest  the hollow of his throat, the dip between his collarbones, the hard plane of his sternum. His mouth closed around one nipple, tongue circling, teeth grazing, and Jude arched into it, a sound pulled from somewhere deep in his chest. Erling worked the nub until it was hard and swollen, then moved to the other, giving it the same attention. Jude's hands found Erling's hair, fingers threading through the pale strands.

Erling worked his way down. His mouth trailed over Jude's ribs, his stomach, the jut of his hipbone. He bit down on the soft skin just above Jude's hip, hard enough to leave a crescent of teeth marks, and Jude hissed, his hips jerking.

"Marking me?"

"Claiming you." Erling's voice was rough. "There's a difference."

He dragged his tongue down the length of Jude's cock, from base to tip, a slow, deliberate stripe that left Jude trembling. He circled the head, tasting the pre-come there, and Jude's grip in his hair tightened.

"Please," Jude said.

"Please what?"

"Please put your mouth on me."

Erling smiled against his skin. "That's more like it."

He took Jude into his mouth, not all at once, but slowly, inch by inch, letting Jude feel every moment of the descent. The heat of it, the wet of it, the way Erling's tongue pressed against the underside as he went down. Jude's head pressed back into the pillow. His hands found Erling's hair again, not guiding, just holding, as Erling's tongue worked him from root to tip.

"Oh, fuck — Erling — "

Erling hummed around him, the vibration travelling through Jude's cock, up his spine, into the base of his skull. His hands were on Jude's hips, holding him down, controlling the depth. He took Jude deeper, his jaw opening wide, the head of Jude's cock hitting the back of his throat. Jude felt the involuntary clench of Erling's throat muscles around him and saw stars.

"Fuck, your mouth — don't stop, don't — "

Erling didn't. He set a rhythm, deep and slow, then faster, then deep again, alternating until Jude was a shaking mess beneath him. Jude's thighs trembled. His hands twisted in the sheets. He was close, too close, the pressure building in his gut like a wave about to break.

"I'm — Erling, I'm going to — "

Erling pulled off. Jude made a sound of pure desperation.

"Not yet." Erling's voice was wrecked, his lips slick, his chin wet. "I want to be inside you when you come."

Jude reached over to the nightstand, pulled the drawer open and found his lube. This was the good kind, the kind Jude had packed in his own bag, the kind with the pump top and the silky feel.

Erling's eyebrows lifted. "You came prepared."

Jude's face heated. "I didn't — I always pack it. For, you know. For myself. For after matches, when my muscles are — " He was rambling. He knew he was rambling. "Shut up."

Erling laughed "I didn't say anything."

"You were thinking it."

"I was thinking," Erling said, his voice dropping, "that I'm going to take my time opening you up. That I want to hear every sound you make. That I want you to feel every inch of me sliding into you, and I want you to know — " He pumped a generous amount of lube into his palm, the sound wet and obscene in the quiet room. " — that there is nothing between us. No barrier. Just you and me."

Jude's breath caught. The implication landed in his chest like a stone dropped into still water.

Erling set the bottle aside and rubbed his palms together, warming the lube. The smell of it, faintly floral, a little chemical, filled the space between them. He lifted one of Jude's legs, bent it at the knee, pushed it toward Jude's chest. The position left Jude open, exposed, and he felt a flash of vulnerability that quickly turned into heat.

"Turn over," Erling said. "I want to see you open for me."

Jude rolled onto his stomach with his hips raised slightly. The sheets were cool against his hot skin, and he pressed his face into the pillow, his hands gripping the fabric above his head. He heard Erling move behind him, the soft sound of lube being squeezed into a palm again, the slick sound of Erling spreading it over his own cock. Jude imagined it: Erling's hand wrapped around himself, coating the length, his eyes fixed on Jude's spread body.

"You're shaking," Erling said. His hand landed on Jude's lower back, warm and heavy.

"I'm not."

"You are. It's okay." Erling's hand traced down the curve of Jude's spine, over the swell of his ass. "I've got you."

Then Erling's hand was on his ass, spreading him, and the first finger slick and warm pressed against his entrance.

"Breathe," Erling said.

Jude exhaled. The finger pushed in slow, deliberate, the stretch familiar and foreign all at once. 4 months. 4 months since anyone had touched him here. His body clenched around the intrusion, and Erling waited, let him adjust, let the ring of muscle soften.

"Good," Erling murmured. "So tight. You're doing so well."

The praise sent a flush through Jude's chest. Erling's finger began to move, shallow thrusts, working the lube deeper, loosening him. Jude's breathing evened out, his body remembering how to accept, how to open.

"More," Jude said into the pillow.

Erling gave him more. A second finger, pressing in alongside the first, the stretch doubling. Jude gasped, his fingers curling into the sheets. Erling worked them deeper, scissoring, stretching, the lube making everything slick and easy. Jude could hear every sound, the wet slide, his own breathing, Erling's breathing, the distant hum of Miami beyond the window.

"You're taking me so well," Erling said. His voice was rough. "Look at you. Open and ready."

Erling's fingers curled, searching. Found the spot.

Jude's whole body jerked. His cry was muffled by the pillow, his hips pressing back into Erling's hand, chasing it.

"There," Erling said. "There it is."

He worked that spot pressing, circling, building and with his other hand he stroked Jude's cock, slow and firm, matching the rhythm. Jude was falling apart beneath him, his composure crumbling, his body open and wanting in a way he'd forgotten he could be. A third finger pressed at his entrance, and Jude moaned, the stretch burning and perfect.

"One more," Erling said. "I want to make sure you're ready for me. You're going to take all of me, and I don't want to hurt you."

The third finger pushed in. Jude's breath stuttered. The fullness was intense, three fingers stretching him wider than he'd been in months, and Erling worked them slowly, patiently, until Jude's body relaxed around the intrusion.

"Please," Jude gasped. "I'm ready. I need you inside me."

Erling withdrew his fingers slowly, and Jude made a sound of loss at the emptiness. But then Erling was above him, the length of his body covering Jude's, and Jude felt the head of Erling's cock  slick with lube, thick and hot pressing against the cleft of his ass.

"Tell me what you want," Erling said. His voice was a growl against Jude's ear.

"I want you to fuck me."

"Say my name."

"I want you to fuck me, Erling. Please. I need your cock inside me."

Erling's breath hitched. The tip pressed against him, not pushing in, just resting there, letting Jude feel the weight of what was about to happen.

"Say it again."

"Erling. Please. Fuck me."

Erling pushed in.

The stretch was a shock, broad, deep, a fullness that stole Jude's breath and held it. He cried out, his hands fisting in the sheets, his body arching as Erling sank into him inch by inch. Erling's hands were on his hips, gripping hard enough to bruise, and he was murmuring something. Norwegian, Jude thought, or maybe just sounds, just the language of a man holding himself back from taking everything at once.

When he was fully seated, he stopped.

"Look at you," Erling said. His voice was wrecked. "Taking all of me. Fuck, Jude."

Jude's answer was a groan, his body adjusting, clenching around the intrusion. He felt full. Stretched. Claimed. Erling's cock was so deep inside him that he could feel it in his chest, in his throat, in the places where his bones met.

"Move," Jude begged. "Please move."

Erling began to move. The first thrust was slow a drag, a push, a rhythm designed to drive them both insane. Jude's fingers clawed at the sheets, his mouth open, sounds falling out of him that he didn't recognize. Erling's hips met his ass with a slap of skin, wet and sharp in the dark, and the sound of it, the feel of it, the fact of it, Erling inside him, after all this time, it was too much and not enough.

"Harder," Jude said.

Erling gave it to him.

He drove in deeper, faster, each stroke hitting that spot inside Jude that made his vision white at the edges. Jude's hands scrambled for purchase, found nothing, and he reached back, found Erling's hip, dug his nails in. Erling hissed, his rhythm stuttering for just a moment.

"You like that," Erling said. "You like it rough."

"Yes — "

"You like my cock fucking you open."

"Yes, God, yes — "

Erling's hand found Jude's hair, yanked his head back. The sting on his scalp sent a jolt through him, and he moaned, long and low.

"Tell me how much you missed this."

"I missed it — I missed you — I thought about you every night, Erling, every single night — "

Erling's thrusts grew sharper, more urgent. He let go of Jude's hair and grabbed his hips, pulling him back onto his cock with each drive. The sound of their bodies meeting filled the room, wet and rhythmic and obscene.

"Touch yourself," Erling commanded.

Jude's hand found his cock, stroking in time with Erling's thrusts. The dual sensation, Erling inside him, his own hand on himself pushed him closer to the edge. His breathing was ragged, his moans broken.

"I'm close," he gasped.

"Not yet." Erling pulled out, and Jude cried out at the loss.

But Erling was already moving, grabbing Jude by the hips and flipping him onto his back. Before Jude could catch his breath, Erling was between his legs again, lifting them, hooking them over his shoulders. The new angle was deeper, and when Erling pushed back in, Jude's back bowed off the bed, a shout tearing from his throat.

"Fuck — Erling — "

Erling fucked into him with a pace that was relentless, each stroke driving against that spot, building the pressure higher, higher. Sweat dripped from Erling's forehead. His blue eyes were almost black in the dim light, fixed on Jude's face, watching every expression, every flicker of pleasure.

"This is what you wanted," Erling said, his voice a growl. "This is what you needed. Me, fucking you, filling you up — "

"Yes, God, yes — "

"You've been thinking about it. Haven't you. The whole match. Every time you looked at me, every time I scored — "

"Fuck you — "

"Tell me the truth." Erling slowed, just enough to make Jude ache. "Did you think about it? About my cock inside you?"

Jude's mouth opened. Closed. His eyes were wet, but not from crying. He was beyond that, beyond shame, beyond anything but the burning need for Erling to move.

"Yes," he said. "Yes, I thought about it. I thought about it every time you touched the ball. I thought about it in the tunnel. I thought about it on the bus. I — Erling, please — "

"Please what?"

"Fuck me. Fuck me like you mean it."

Erling drove into him, hard, and the sound Jude made was almost a scream.

He took him at his word. The rhythm broke into something wilder faster, deeper, each thrust a statement, a recrimination, a promise. Jude's legs locked around Erling's waist, pulling him closer, deeper, and his nails raked down Erling's back, leaving red lines in their wake. Erling hissed, his hips stuttering, and his hand found Jude's hair, yanked his head back.

"You're going to come for me."

"I — "

"Come. Now."

Jude's body obeyed before his mind caught up. The orgasm ripped through him, hot and violent, his back arching off the bed, his cock pulsing between their bodies, spilling across his stomach, Erling's chest, the sheets beneath them. He cried out a broken sound, a name, Erling's name and the clench of his body pulled Erling with him.

Erling followed, his hips driving forward once, twice, three more times before the tension broke. He groaned, low and guttural, and Jude felt the heat of him filling the space inside, felt every pulse of it, every shudder that ran through Erling's body as he came.

They stayed like that Erling buried deep, Jude's legs still locked around him, both of them breathing like they'd just run a marathon.

Erling lowered himself, careful, his weight settling on Jude's chest, his face finding the curve of Jude's neck. He pressed a kiss there soft, almost apologetic.

But then he pulled back. Not all the way, but enough. He looked down at where their bodies met, at the place where he was still inside Jude, still pressed deep.

"Stay still," he murmured.

And then he pulled out, slow, deliberate, letting Jude feel every inch of the withdrawal. Jude winced at the emptiness, the sudden cool air on his skin. But Erling was watching, his eyes fixed on Jude's entrance.

"Look," Erling said. His voice was low, reverent. "Look at what I did to you."

He shifted, angling Jude's hip so the neon light caught the place where his body was still open, still slick. And Jude shut his eyes his breath held as Erling's seed began to seep out of him, pale and thick, trailing down the inside of his ass.

"Fuck," Erling breathed. He reached down, his fingers catching the drip, spreading it over Jude's skin. "I wanted to see that. I wanted to see my cum pouring out of you. I wanted to see the proof that I was inside you, that I filled you, that you're — "

He stopped. His jaw worked "You're mine," he finished. "Tonight, you're mine."

Jude's heart was beating so hard he thought it might crack his ribs. He reached up, pulled Erling down, kissed him slow and deep and tasting of salt and want. They stayed like this for a while, whether it be 5 or 25 minutes he wasn’t sure but the come down from his orgasm with Erlings lips on his was heavenly.

"I'm not done with you," Erling murmured against his lips finally.

Jude laughed, breathless, wrecked. "Good."

They lay in the dark, the neon light painting them in pink and white, their bodies slick with sweat and come and the heat of Miami pressing in through the window. Erling's hand traced lazy patterns on Jude's chest, over his stomach, through the cooling mess there. His fingers found the trail of his own seed still wet on Jude's thigh, and he spread it further, like he was marking territory.

Then Erling stirred.

He sat up, reached for the lube bottle again. Jude watched him — the flex of his shoulders, the way the muscles in his back moved under his pale skin. Erling pumped more lube into his palm, then turned to Jude with that same not-kind smile.

"Roll over."

Jude turned onto his stomach, pushing himself up onto his hands and knees. His arms trembled. His knees pressed into the mattress, and he let his head hang forward, let his spine curve, let himself be exactly what Erling wanted.

Erling positioned himself behind him. His hands found Jude's hips, thumbs pressing into the divots above his ass. The head of his cock pressed against Jude's entrance, still loose, still slick, still wet with both of them and Erling pushed in without preamble, sliding home in one smooth motion.

Jude gasped, his body accepting the intrusion immediately, the stretch familiar now.

"That's it," Erling said. "You're so ready for me. So open."

He began to move a steady, punishing rhythm, each thrust bottoming out inside Jude, hitting that place that made his vision blur. Jude's hands fisted in the sheets, his mouth open, drool pooling on the pillow as Erling fucked into him.

Erling's hands moved from Jude's hips to his chest, pulling him upright against the broad plane of his body. Jude's back pressed against Erling's front, and he felt the heat of him, the heartbeat of him, the arms that wrapped around his chest and held him close. The new angle drove Erling even deeper, and Jude's head fell back against Erling's shoulder, his mouth open, panting.

"Feel that?" Erling's mouth was at his ear, his voice a low rasp. "Feel how deep I am? You're going to feel me tomorrow. When you walk, when you sit. Every time you move, you're going to remember my cock inside you."

"Erling — "

"Every time you think about this match, about tonight, you're going to feel me." His hand slid down Jude's stomach, wrapped around his cock. "And you're going to get hard. Because you'll remember what it felt like to have me take you apart."

Jude's hips rocked into Erling's grip, meeting each thrust, chasing the friction. The rhythm was languid, torturous, each stroke building a pressure that was different from the first time, slower, fuller, a fire that burned from the inside out.

"You're going to come again," Erling said, a demand.

"Please — "

"Please what?"

"Please don't stop."

Erling didn't. He pushed Jude forward onto the mattress, followed him down, fucked him from behind until Jude’s arms gave out and his cheek pressed into the sheets. Erling's body covered his, the weight of him a pressure that made Jude feel safe and claimed and wanted in a way that had nothing to do with the game, the loss, the corridor.

This was just them. Just this. Just the slide of skin on skin, the wet sound of Erling moving inside him, the broken litany of Jude's moans against the pillow.

"I'm close," Jude gasped.

"Wait for me."

Erling's hand found Jude's, threading their fingers together on the mattress. His thrusts grew sharper, his breathing ragged against Jude's neck.

"Now," Erling said. "Come for me. Come with me."

Jude's second orgasm was deeper than the first, less violent, more consuming. It rolled through him like a wave, pulling him under, and he felt Erling follow, felt the hot pulse of him filling the space inside again, felt the shudder that ran through Erling's body and into his own. A second load, adding to the first, Jude's body gripping him through it.

Erling collapsed on top of him, his breath hot against Jude's shoulder.

They lay there, tangled, breathing together.

After a long moment, Erling shifted, pulling out slowly. Jude felt the rush of fluid immediately, warm, wet, spilling down his thigh. Erling made a sound of approval, his hand pressing against Jude's ass, fingers slipping through the combined mess of them.

"There it is," Erling murmured. "I want to watch it all night. Watch my seed leak out of you."

He pulled Jude onto his side, curved his body around Jude's, and pressed his palm flat against Jude's stomach, a possessive gesture, a claiming. His fingers traced through the wetness on Jude's thigh, scooping some of it up, bringing it to his own lips. Jude watched him taste it, watched his eyes go dark.

"You taste like us," Erling said.

Jude laughed breathless, wrecked, undone. He turned in Erling's arms, pressed his nose into the hollow of Erling's throat.

After a long moment, Erling rolled onto his back, pulling Jude with him so they were face to face in the dark. The neon light crossed Erling's face,  pink and white, and Jude reached out, touched his jaw.

"You’re staying?" Jude asked.

"Of course."

"I thought you'd leave. After. I thought you'd — "

"I told you." Erling's hand found his, pressed it flat against his chest. "I know what I want."

Jude's eyes burned. He blinked, and the tears came — not the ones he'd been holding back about the match, about the loss, about the 4 months of silence. Different ones. Relief, maybe. Want. The terror of wanting something this badly and being allowed to have it.

"I don't know what this is," Jude said. His voice cracked. "I don't know if this is one night, or — "

"It doesn't have to be anything tonight." Erling's thumb caught the tear that escaped, wiped it away. "Tonight, you're in my arms. Tomorrow, we'll figure it out."

"And if I don't want to figure it out tomorrow?"

"Then I'll wait longer. I've done it before."

Jude laughed, wet, broken, the most honest sound he'd made all night. He pressed his face into Erling's chest, felt the steady rhythm of his heart, let his eyes close.

"Stay until I fall asleep."

"I'm not going anywhere."

And in the Miami dark, with the neon light cutting across the ceiling like a scar that was finally beginning to heal, Jude Bellingham let himself be held by the man who had broken him and remade him in the same night.
