Hwang Hyunjin had a secret. It was more of a constant evolution of his long-standing infatuation with Lee Felix. An infatuation that grew into something deep and intense. Of course, the crush he had on Felix had never been a secret. But those feelings had long transformed into something deeper and more intense than a modest infatuation. He was very much in love with Felix. And the man had no idea how deep those feelings ran. Then something really changed. Hyunjin began to have physical feelings for Felix.
He had first noticed this development when they began their work on Victory Song. They were doing a run-through of the song before they started the actual studio work. Not even 30 seconds into the song, and it hit him. A shiver began at the base of his spine, moving to his head and neck and all of his extremities. Even his toes were tingly from just that one word: “Listen.” He had almost missed his lines because he was so frozen by Felix’s voice.
Then it was God’s Menu. Hyunjin made it through most of the song, even Felix’s infamous “Cookin’ like a chef…” line didn’t phase him much. No, Hyunjin’s heart started racing right before his “ne sonim,” when Felix sang “malgo bueo.” He could scarcely breathe as he tried to calm his pulse. By the time they got to Venom and Maniac, his physical reactions had taken on a mind of their own. At first, it was a little pulse in his groin; but this pavlovian craving awakened a most crucial part of his anatomy. It got so bad that Felix would just speak and he’d get hard.
This unwelcome “ability” of Hyunjin’s came to a boiling point when they started doing unit performances for Taste. Felix’s proximity and their sensual floor choreography made it near impossible to hold back. The choreography had the two men extremely close for much of the song, so close that Hyunjin could hear him breathe between parts and could smell the sweat and cologne on him. Felix's falsetto at the end of the song nearly did him in one night. He more often than not would hurry to a bathroom or other place to take care of the problem privately.
After one such performance, Hyunjin found out that he would be sharing a room with Felix. To "break the ice," or more aptly phrased, break Hyunjin's tension, he thought maybe he and Felix should go get something to eat together. Felix was the last one in the dressing room, so Hyunjin went to ask him where he wanted to go. Felix was just finishing up getting dressed; Hyunjin had gotten a brief view of his lower half just before he pulled up his pants. He nearly lost all speech before he cleared his throat.
"I came to ask what you wanted to eat," he said, pretending he saw nothing.
"Anything is fine with me," Felix replied, giving his signature smile. As they walked to the van together, Hyunjin worried about how long his nerves would hold out before he fell apart.
When they got back to the hotel, he immediately started the shower. Felix and he usually talked all night on these occasions, and he couldn’t trust his body to behave under these circumstances. When he felt calm enough, he dried off and put on the hotel-provided-robe to head back into the bedroom. What he walked into was not at all what he expected.
