A Collection Of Works About A Cherished Love

Summary:

This is a collection of all my valvert poetry thus far! I will keep this marked as unfinished because I'm inevitably going to keep adding to it whenever I get ideas for more poetry
(If you follow me on tumblr you may have already seen a few or most of these woops lol, feel free to ignore <3)
In truth, though I am a prose author on here, my one true love is actually poetry! So I'm excited to share all my poems here and to have a place where they're all organized

Thanks for reading! Hope you enjoy <3

Chapter 1: Circumstance is the only sure thing

Summary:

Javert-centric poem about The Chase that is Valvert

Chapter Text

Circumstance is the only sure thing

Why does a tigress eat her cubs?

A beaten dog does the same

When born to a wolf in a cage

"Half-wolf, tamp down your coat,

And lick the hand that strikes."

I became a bite

The only impression I could leave

I've learned to love the draw of blood

The hunt, the pinning of insect wings

To harvest a soul

Is my only dealing with such

No religion concerns a dog

Nor does it care for a God's mercy

A wolf made to eat his own

Has one chance at intimacy:

His claws contracting in an embrace

A kiss of teeth to rip out a throat.
