Chapter Text
I know I'm a pretty impulsive guy. But I'm not dumb by any means. I graduated with some pretty decent grades, a great group of friends and a bright future ahead of me. That's what was said about me by teachers at least. The students voted me as ‘most likely to get arrested after graduation’ which did happen but it was only minor.
My life is great! The only thing now is to move forward, no more education needed. I am free and ready to start really living my life. And how might someone celebrate you may ask? Isn't it obvious?

Music pulsed through the floors and people were cheering to the melody. Perfect atmosphere for a party. Ajax, positioned in the middle of it all, finding himself fully encapsulated in the beat. The crowd was a mixture of people he knew from his classes back in uni as well as a few new unfamiliar faces. The people around him weren't important though, it was what they were celebrating that mattered.
The bar was known for harbouring uni students when they needed a little getaway and Ajax would be lying if he said this was the first time he had ever stepped foot in the vicinity. Four years as a uni student and this bar practically became his second home.
The bar brings back memories. Some good, some bad, some..confusing? It was strange to think he wouldn’t be getting his id checked at the door every Friday and Saturday anymore. Now he had finally graduated he won’t see some of these people ever again. Or maybe he’ll see them once or twice in the next year or so but the thought of not seeing these people ever again…
There was someone he’d like to make sure stayed in his life. He just had to find them.
Ajax was sure they’d be here, he had travelled with a relatively large group which he was sure they were a part of. He started moving between the gaps of people making way to the bar where he could get a better look. His thoughts were already quite hazy from the alcohol but not so much so that he was incompetent. He was the perfect amount of drunk to spill out his feelings to someone he’s barely had a conversation with these past four years.
Standing tall at the bar his eyes skimmed his surroundings he knew exactly what key features to look for and when he spotted them his heart skipped a beat.
Blonde hair, yes blonde, shiny, perfectly cut hair. A bold choice of style worn by the woman of Ajax’s heart. Lumine's face was all Ajax could see clearly as his thoughts ran all over the place he didn’t even register that he had begun to walk towards her. She stood talking to someone of no importance to him, his only intention to cut their conversation short and take lumine for himself.
“Hey! Ajax!?” lumine wore a confused yet welcoming expression. It seems Ajax was staring a bit too hard and stood saying nothing for too long. “Lumine..hey i- um” no point in being nervous now.
“Wanna go outside? It’s pretty loud in here”

The ‘confession’ with Lumine went pretty smoothly, all thanks to Ajax’s charm of course. The pair decided to ‘take it slow’ which was a win for Ajax. The thought of Lumine actively trying to stay in his life. Taking it slow is the best possible outcome from the initial, impulsive decision, to talk to her in the first place. Oh what a great way to start his life as an adult free of education. Things were truly looking up for Ajax, and who better to share this glorious information with other than his best friend.

“Kuniiiiii!!” Ajax was leaning up against a wall with his phone on speaker. He spoke with pure glee in his voice after his best friend of forever had finally answered. “You’ll never guess what just happened” excitement getting the better of him. Ajax started pacing on the street to calm the adrenaline that was still flowing through him.
“Can I guess?” Kuni responded, unable to see his expression, Ajax assumed he was smiling behind the screen. “It has to be something with you and Lumine, am i right?” Ajax paused. Was he that obvious?
“Yea dude! I mean we are taking it sloww but literally that's gotta be the best possible outcome” he spoke with his hands as that adrenaline rush came back to him. A new thought was placed in his mind “Hey Kuni where are you anyways? I mean I'm outside but it seems pretty quiet on your end” Ajax swore that him and Kuni arrived at the bar together. It's standard they’d end up parting while inside but Ajax had half expected Kuni to be out here when he and Lumine left.
“I’m home?” The voice on the phone sounded annoyed. “I was there for two seconds and then I left”
Huh?
“Guess I didn't notice..” Ajax shrugged “you heard about that beach party though right?” It was a conversation in passing with Ajax and another classmate, you know one final goodbye to everyone.
“Yea I’m not going” Don’t worry Kuni says that a lot but Ajax always convinces him in the end, “oh! yes you are” He laughed. He and Kuni have been friends long enough for him to know exactly how this conversation will play out. Kuni will protest, Ajax will give amazing points and arguments, Kuni will get annoyed and end the call. Ajax spam texts him and then kuni finally gives in.
“You have to come! It's going to be so meaningful and it's on the beach!? Have you seen the weather recently, its beach season dude” Ajax spoke with passion Kuni was coming to the beach with him one way or another. On the other side of the phone there was a sigh.
“When is it?” hehe that was quicker than he thought.
“In a month, tons of notice exactly a month from now..you’ll be there?” Ajax heard the cheers inside get louder, a good song was probably playing. A voice brought his attention back to the phone.
“We’ll see how I feel in a month then” Kuni said tiredly. Ajax couldn't believe the ambiguity, couldn't he just get a straight answer. “What kuni come on just say you’ll be there.” Ajax was pretty much begging now and after a long silence kuni spoke again “Like i said we’ll see” kuni promptly ended the call after his statement much to Ajax’s dismay.
Eh, whatever, he'll convince him next time they see each other.
