"Everyone give him honor and praise! He deserves it all, our great Kamishiro!" Emu and Nene chanted as they carried plates to Rui.
Tsukasa found those two incredibly creepy. And they hated him, for some reason. He slept with one of the kitchen knives by his pillow, just in case one of them tried to kill him in his sleep.
There was another issue at hand.
Rui Kamishiro, known throughout the lands as the evil food eater. Which made a lot of sense. If he was still hungry after eating, which he usually was, he would eat the plate.
And somehow, he was perfectly fine afterwards.
Tsukasa loved him, but it was scary.
Something was wrong. Rui clearly wasn't normal. No one can eat so much without dying.
Tsukasa added some of his medicine to the soup. A lethal dosage, he was sure of it. The only way to free Rui from his pain. But he couldn't live without Rui.
He placed a dose in his soup as well.
Tsukasa waited patiently for Rui to finish eating. Then, he approached.
"Rui! Are you still hungry?" Tsukasa smiled.
Rui nodded. "Of course I am. What did you prepare for me, Tsukasa?"
"I'll be right back." Tsukasa entered the kitchen. He grabbed the bowls of soup, and then placed one on either side of the table. "I would like to eat with you, if possible."
"Oh?" Rui smiled, picking up a spoon. "I would love to! Please, sit."
Tsukasa sat down. He watched as Rui took a sip of the broth. He hesitated, and then took a sip of his own.
"Tsukasa. What--" Rui coughed, clutching at his stomach. "...Did you poison me?"
Tsukasa smiled weakly, his own stomach exploding in pain. "I love you, Rui."
He fell to the floor. The last thing he saw was Rui's face.
Rui managed to survive. Just some stomach pains. He sighed. "Emu. Nene. I request my next meal be made from his body."
"Yes, Rui." The two spoke at the same time.
Not long after, Rui was served a plate of spaghetti, the same color as Tsukasa's hair.
"Hmm...delicious." Rui ate it, but not without a few tears coming. Tsukasa tasted amazing like this. But he stilled missed him.
Rui decided to not dwell on it.
Months passed. Rui had eaten, well, everything. Nothing could satisfy his hunger. And yet, the stomach pains from the poison still affected him occasionally.
And one day, the Demon of Gluttony spoke to Rui.
"Kamishiro," the demon's voice spoke, "You'll die soon from that poison. There was too much in Tsukasa's body.
The demon took shape in Rui's mind. A pig. Same as the one responsible for his parents dying.
An idea formed.
"You know..." Rui looked down at his hand. "Maybe there is still something left to eat after all."
