Chapter Text
"It's nice that Tori invited us on her fishing trip!"
Ell exclaimed with a smile as she finished the last of her packing and zipped her bag.
A few weeks back they had received a text from Tori, who explained she would be visiting England after her trip around the world to relax for a while, meaning she would be spending some time with the girls again before she continued.
Ell and Matilda were more than happy about it. Tamara however? Not so much..
See, although they weren't really on bad terms, they weren't really on good terms either.
It wasn't exactly beef or anything. They just threw a few jabs at each other when Tori was still around. That didn't stop Tamara from not liking the other girl though and it very much seemed like it was mutual. Or at least that's what she thought before the trip.
Back to present day, Tamara was sitting on the couch, already fully packed and ready as she was busy watching the TV.
"I guess.. At least it gives me the chance to finally use my harpoon gun. I've been dying to actually use it for a while."
She spoke up, sitting up slightly in her seat as she looked towards Ell, who gave her a small smile.
"Tam. Promise me you and Tori won't start fighting when we're on this trip? We haven't seen her in so long other than the photos she sends us and it'll seriously be such a fun way for you both to at least try and get along again?"
Ell gave a small shrug as she explained. She then looked at Tamara for a bit, raising her eyebrow slightly as she heard a sigh from the other girl.
"No promises Ell. If she says something about me, I'll say something back. It's as simple as that... But I guess I'll take it into consideration."
Ell gave a small nod of approval, showing she was happy about the brunette taking it into consideration. She then looked at the clock and around the main room.
"Matilda! Are you not ready yet? Tori will be here in a bit you know!"
She yelled out as she eventually let out a sigh and headed to Matilda's room, leaving Tamara on her own.
Tamara stayed in silence for a bit, stuck with the faint sound of the television and the thoughts in her head before she suddenly heard a knock from the door.
She got up with a slight groan as she pushed her bag aside and headed towards it, opening it up to be greeted by none other than Tori.
"El— Oh. It's just you, Jehovah's Witness."
Tori said, the excitement in her voice changing abruptly the moment she laid her eyes on Tamara.
"Yeah. You seriously haven't given up with that nickname have you now, Commie?"
Tamara spat back as she crossed her arms, eyebrows furrowed in sudden frustration.
Tori simply chuckled and gave her a slight grin, juxtaposing to the other girl's frustration.
"I see you haven't either."
Before things could get anymore heated, Ell finally came back while holding onto Matilda's hand as the red head complained about her not being able to finish packing her 'collection of photos of herself' into her bag.
"But Ell! Those photos and mirrors have feelings too! They'll miss seeing my beautiful face!"
"Matilda it's only a few days, you'll be fine. Besides, you've practically got more photos than you have clothes in this bag!—"
Ell then saw Tori standing in the doorway and smiled as she let go of Matilda's hand to go give Tori a hug.
"Tori! It's been so long! How've you been?"
Tori chuckled, her forced grin now replaced with a smile as she reciprocated the hug.
"I've been pretty good! Travelling around the world is really tiresome though so I thought why not come back for a while to see my friends!"
As Tori spoke, Matilda quickly headed towards her and gave her a tight hug.
"TORI!! WE'VE MISSED YOU A LOT YOU KNOW? I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU LEFT US FOR SO LONG! HOW COULD YOU!?''
Matilda cried out, obviously being dramatic as she finally let go of the girl after who knows how long as Tori gave her that same smile.
As Tori began to talk to Ell and Matilda, Tamara simply stood in the sidelines, mumbling to herself in frustration as she headed to the main room to get her bag.
Stupid Tori. With her stupid face and dumb horn shaped hair with her stupid smile. That.. stupid, beautiful smile. NO! She seriously wasn't thinking this! Especially about Tori of all people! Sure, she likes girls but Tori?? Definitely not!
Tamara quickly shook her head and took a moment to think. God, Tori was already getting on her nerves to the point where she had practically gotten to her head.
Once she got her bag, she headed back to the main room and coughed.
"Are we gonna go now? We've waited aaaalll day for this haven't we?"
Tamara said, sarcasm dripping from her voice and Ell nodded.
"Yeah let's get going then!"
Once they all got their bags, Ell made sure to lock the door before they all headed towards Tori's car.
Tori obviously got in the drivers seat (I mean it is her car after all), Ell was in the passenger seat while the two girls, Matilda and Tamara, sat on the back seats.
As they drove to their fishing spot, Tamara stayed silent for most of the ride while the others chatted amongst themselves.
She then thought back to her earlier interaction with Tori.
"Oh. it's just you, Jehovah's Witness."
God she hated being called that. It brought up too many painful memories of her family that she would most rather forget.
The scars she inflicted on herself. The ones she felt like she deserved.
The constant insults she faced from her parents after coming out to them and the constant reminders of her soul being tainted by the work of the devil.
About how she would burn in hell with the devil all because of who she was attracted too.
The memories seriously pissed her off, and so did that nickname.
What was she supposed to do though? Tell Tori about all those memories? Fuck no! She'd probably just make fun of her or something, like she always did.
She couldn't wait for this whole thing to be over as they finally arrived at their destination.
This was going to be a long trip..
