Summary
Millie Talonbreaker was supposed to die alone and forgotten about in a cave. The perpetrator intending to replace the sickly girl with a shapeshifter and reap the benefits of being the daughter of the renowned and fearsome soldier turned noble Matilda Talonbreaker. However, none would expect said girl to summon a familiar with her literal dying breath. Said familiar being a dead ringer for her very own mother and perhaps even just as fearsome. Her name is Matilda Wynand, an enlisted soldier from another world ravaged by war.
With her actual mother missing, people trying to kill her, and her own sickness trying to kill her, she's not sure how she's going to survive. She's going to have to lean on her mother's lookalike for support and the many strange feelings she has to sort out.
Things truly were much simpler when she could just lay in her bed and hope her sickness would go away.
