Work Text:

Renardette felt like she was flying, her heart pounding with exhilaration, with Trionyx by her side. The duo bounced from roof to roof before landing, joining their hands and spinning around in circles.

His eyes stared into hers, and both of them agreed they felt so happy and free. If only that moment could have lasted forever, it felt so wonderful to have her boyfriend join her under the masks.

Eventually, she and Adrien had to return the miraculoses to their original owners so Ladybug could join the fight and according to Adrien, he felt that Carapace should be there rather than Trionyx. Later Adrien admitted that he was afraid of this whole superheroing gig and turned down any chance of being Trionyx again. Which bummed her out, but she didn’t say anything.

Marinette drew out a longing sigh and continued to sketch the boy that she had seen in her sketchbook. So strong, so brave, and so perfect. His eyes pierced into hers, his sweet, charming smile made her heart melt, his flowy hair and costume made her legs feel like jelly.

Tikki floated by her side with a macaron in her paws and observed Marinette sketching the details of his eyes. “You’re drawing Adrien with the turtle miraculous again?”

Marinette flushed at the kwami and shrugged innocently, “I can’t help it! Seeing him with it was so mesmerizing, not only did he look gorgeous, but the way he moved alongside me and how good he was with ‘Shell-ter’-Gah! He was perfect, Tikki.” She swooned at the drawing before her.

Tikki giggled, “Well, I will say, his Trionyx design is an improvement compared to  his Aspik design.”

Marinette turned to her with a pout, “Hey, I thought Aspik was just as cute!”

Tikki raised a brow, “He didn’t have any hair.”

“And he still rocked the suit!” Marinette humphed as if her say was final, Tikki giggled at Marinette’s defiance. Marinette flipped back a few pages and lifted it to Tikki’s eyeline. “See? Aspik is hot! Look at his abs! His muscles!”

Tikki blinked at the drawing and sighed at the skinny boy with the mask over his head. Tikki noticed that Adrien had definitely gained some more muscles between his time as Aspik and now as Trionyx. “Alright, if you say so, Marinette.” She lightly shook her head in amusement at her lovestruck holder.

“I know so!” Marinette smugly grinned, her smile softened as she glanced at her book again. “Though I’ll admit I did enjoy my time more with him as Trionyx. When he was Aspik, he didn’t know I was Marinette, and I didn’t even get to see him do much thanks to the snake’s power of second chance, so I only saw him as Aspik for a minute or two. Whereas, when he was Trionyxx…” She sighed happily and leaned forward with her chin resting on her hands. “We knew who the other was, we got to be ourselves while jumping through Paris together, and we even got to fight side by side. Even if it was just for a moment, before I had to go and transform as Ladybug, it was amazing, Tikki.”

Tikki hummed, “Well, I’m glad you got to experience it with Adrien a little bit.”

“So am I, Tikki! It was all so exciting, jumping in the air, feeling the breeze…Gosh, I never felt anything like it!”

Tikki blinked, taken aback. Her face fell flat. “Uh…you experience that all the time as Ladybug. Remember?”

Marinette closed her book and set it aside on the table with a soft laugh. “Of course, it’s just…different, I guess?” Her eyes widened as Tikki stared back skeptically and started to wave her arms frantically, “Not that it’s a bad different, of course, it just feels different to not be Ladybug at that moment. You know? Not having to worry about being the guardian, having to lead the team, and most importantly, getting to be with my Adrien, I was just Renardette!” She giggled nervously, “You get what I am saying, right?”

Tikki pouted and folded her arms, “It sounds like you’ve really enjoyed having Trixx then.”

Marinette noticed a hint of envy in her voice and jealousy written all over Tikki’s face. She lightly chuckled as she cupped her hands around the small being and pulled her close. “Don’t worry, Tikki, you’ll always be my first choice for a kwami.”

Tikki stared with her big, round, beady eyes, “Really?”

“Really. I can’t imagine having another kwami by my side all the time.” Marinette beamed and lightly pecked Tikki on the head, making her giggle.

An alarm sounded off Marinette’s phone, her head twisted towards the table, and she reached for it.

Ah, it was time for patrol.

“Looks like we'd better get going, Tikki, Spots on!”

———————————————————————————

Ladybug flew from roof to roof with her yoyo. The wind rushed past her, and the setting sun still shone across the rooftops. She came to a stop at the usual place where she and Chat would usually sit and talk.

Ladybug collapsed on the edge of the roof, her feet dangled over the edge, and she leaned back on her arms. The Eiffel Tower stood in front of her, the sunrays still passing through. She hummed softly. The view of Paris was always a wonderful sight, but to see it where she was, it’s breathtaking. A smile grew on her face as she thought back to Trionyx. She was glad she got to see Adrien experience what she did, even if it was briefly. He looked so happy and was just having fun. The two of them together, it really was amazing.

If she hadn’t handed out all the miraculouses, Ladybug would have definitely given one to Adrien. True, the snake didn’t work and the turtle already belonged to Nino, which he did give Adrien a chance with the turtle, but Adrien turned that one down too afterwards.

He was afraid, she remembered him saying. Which didn’t make sense to her, Adrien is one of the bravest and smartest people she knew! He even jumped off the roof one time because he trusted Ladybug! Which, in hindsight, was very reckless. How could he not see how amazing he would be as a superhero?

Ladybug let out a sigh, oh how she wished Adrien could be right by her side now.

“You look happy, M’lady.” A voice chirped, taking her out of her thoughts. Chat Noir had approached by her side and sat next to her.

Ladybug greeted him with a smile, “I guess you can say I am, kitty cat.”

Hm…wonder if Chat Noir and Adrien would get along, Adrien seems to like anyone…but Chat had acted off about Adrien before. Maybe he just saw Adrien as a typical spoiled rich boy who thinks he’s above anyone else? She hopes not. Adrien is too sweet to be like that.

“Pawsome! Well, if you don’t mind sharing, what is it? Ooh, did you get closer to finding out who the new hawkmoth is?”

She laughed and shook her head, “Ha, I wish!” She lightly shrugged, “It’s just something in my civilian life and what my boyfriend and I got to do yesterday thanks to one of our friends. It’s probably one of the most fun things I got to do with him.”

Chat Noir’s ears perked up and his eyes widened in curiosity, “Oh? Do tell-Oh wait…” He held up a hand and sighed, “Sorry, I just realized answering that could probably risk revealing your secret identity.”

“Very thoughtful kitty.” Ladybug jutted her jaw and tapped her chin in thought. She probably could; it’s not like anyone else saw her and Adrien with the fox and turtle, miraculouses. Maybe just don’t give any names. “Although, I probably could…just need to leave out anything too revealing.”

“Ladybug, you don’t have to.”

Ladybug sighed and sheepishly smiled, “I know, but, it’s been on my mind ever since it happened. My best friend is probably sick of me talking about it after all last night and I think even my kwami is getting tired of hearing it.”

He snorted, “Really, it was that ameowzing, huh? Well, now you got the cat curious, M’lady. What happened?” He asked with a genuine smile.

Ladybug smiled in return, if this had been a few months ago, she knew Chat would have been jealous, polite, sure, but clearly jealous with the other boy. Now, he finally moved on and got a girlfriend, and she’s with Adrien; they can talk about stuff like this with ease.

“Ok, so…my boyfriend got to try out a miraculous yesterday, not mine of course, but someone else’s.”

Chat Noir’s eyes widened, “What, how?”

Ladybug bit her lip as she attempted to find the right words to not give anything away. She hesitated and rubbed her hands, “Someone on the team is a friend of his and decided to let him try it out.” Chat Noir opened his mouth before Ladybug raised a hand up, “He did ask for Ladybug’s, aka my, permission and don’t worry my boyfriend would never spill the person’s identity, he’s actually good about that.”  Probably better than Carapace himself, if I might add. Ladybug inwardly thought, with slight irritation.

He hummed and nodded approvingly as he lightly kicked the wall with the back of his heels right below. “Ok, well, how did he do? Was he excited? Scared?” He nudged her in the shoulder teasingly, “Did he miscalculate a jump and fall off a building?” He snickered as Ladybug rolled her eyes.

She lightly shoved him in the shoulder, “He did not fall off a building! Anyways, he did fine, I actually thought he was amazing! He also looked so perfect in that suit. I could stare at it all day.” She quickly added in a low, quiet voice, hoping Chat doesn’t hear. “I may have even drawn him a few times afterwards.”

Unfortunately, he did as he choked out a laugh, “What?! Bug, you got it bad.”

She pouted and folded her arms, “Oh hush you.” She flushed as he covered his mouth and his shoulders began to shake. “You’re just as bad as me, you know?”

“Purrhaps, but I never drew you back then and I don’t draw my current girlfriend.” He added with a cough, “I have friends who can do that.”

“What?”

Chat Noir smiled innocently and clapped his hands together, “Nothing, so while he was playing hero, did you get to play miss damsel in distress? Did he carry you in his arms and ride off into the sunset?” He flashed a cheeky grin and wiggled his eyebrows.

Ladybug rolled her eyes again and huffed at his laughter, “Pft, no, be serious, Chat!”  She rubbed the back of her neck, “I, uh…I actually was wearing a mask too.”

Chat stopped laughing and blinked momentarily before he furrowed his brow, “Wait…hold on, you told him you’re Ladybug?!”

“No, no, of course not! I…actually also borrowed a miraculous from another teammate and may have joined him. Our friend thought we could spend some time together as superheroes like he and his girlfriend do and it would make our relationship stronger. So that’s why I also got one.” She grinned nervously and a high-pitched giggle escaped from her lips. Chat Noir silently stared at her.

Ladybug swallowed and cleared her throat as she continued, “Anyways, it was so much fun! Being able to spend time with him in that way, it felt so magical! I mean, I understand I get to experience seeing this view and being a superhero as Ladybug, but getting to do it with him as another hero version of myself! Obviously I couldn’t keep it though, for obvious reasons.”

Chat Noir didn’t respond, his eyes intently on her, narrowed as if he were thinking. Then his eyes began to widen and his mouth slowly opened.

“I wish he could have kept it longer, it was just wonderful! Unfortunately, he said he was too scared or not capable to keep being a superhero…but he’s wrong! He’s brilliant, strong, brave, sensitive, and anything you would want in a hero and he’s cute too! He’s got muscles, abs, and his hair-ugggh.” She didn’t notice as Chat choked randomly on air, his cheeks bloomed bright red. “Gah! I wished I had a miraculous to give him so he can be on the team…he would probably give it up though, but I really want to try.” She sighed heavily, “I loved it, if only that moment could…”

“Have lasted forever, Renardette.” Chat Noir finished in a distracted mumble.

Ladybug froze as her voice caught in her throat. She slowly turned to face him with her eyes blown wide. “Wha…what did you just say?” Her voice cracked.

Chat Noir shrank into himself and shrugged silently. Ladybug covered her mouth and gasped, “H-How? Did you see us together? Did you hear what we were saying?” She frowned in thought, “No, that can’t be it, my boyfriend and I were way too high up and I didn’t see you around us as Chat Noir.”

Chat Noir rubbed the back of his neck and shyly smiled, “I actually was there M’lady…you and I just didn’t notice it at the time.”

Ladybug wrinkled her nose as she recalled everything from the day before. How could that be possible? The only two she knew were there for sure were she and Adrien. The only possible solution is…

Wait-

Ladybug observed the cat boy in front of her with an eerily familiar smile and similar messy blonde hair. Even Trionyx and Chat Noir were almost the same build. Her heart fluttered in her chest, breath caught in her throat.

No way. She opened and closed her mouth hesitantly, worried she would be wrong. “A-Adrien?”

He winked and smugly grinned, “Bingo! We have a winner!”

Her face instantly felt hot, her gloved hands smacked over her cheeks and squeaked, “EE! A-Adrien! O-oh, what have I done?! I just bragged about you to…well, you!”

Chat Noir nudged his shoulder against hers, “I appurrcieated the compliments on my suit by the way,  I’m glad you liked it!”

Ladybug groaned in embarrassment as her hands covered her face and she pulled up her knees to curl into herself. How she wished an Akuma would come and zap her away right now.  “Aghh, I can’t believe I did that! What is wrong with me?! I just babbled about you to…you! This is a nightmare.” She faced him, horror in her eyes. “I gushed about your abs!”

Chat Noir hummed and placed a hand on his chest and moaned dramatically, “Oh no, my girlfriend is in love with me…oh the horrors. Whatever shall we do, M’lady.” He smiled warmly as Ladybug continued to get redder by the second.

“Kitty…” A soft whine escaped her throat, making him chuckle and his heart practically burst.

He scooted closer to her side and wrapped an arm around her shoulder to pull her in. “You know M’lady, I thought you were purrty cute yourself…purrhaps dare I say, foxy.” Ladybug glanced up as he broke into a cheesy smile and wiggled his eyebrows.

Ladybug groaned and lightly smacked his chest. The boy started cackling. His laughter was music to her ears.  “That was terrible.” She retorted, her voice cracked as she bit back a laugh, her face grew warmer with his close proximity.

“I mean it though, you really did look good with the fox miraculous and of course you did amazing with it and got the hang of it pretty quick.” He laughed and lightly smacked the side of his head, “Which, now knowing you're also Ladybug and you likely used it before to make Multimouse appear besides Ladybug, it makes total sense! Of course you could use it so easily!”

Oh kwamis, this cat was going to be the death of her. She inhaled deeply, trying not to implode on the spot as she flicked his bell, “You’re not so bad yourself, kitty cat…especially with your acting skills, mister it’s too scary to be a superhero.” She snorted, “Honestly, I should have known something was up when you said that and you were also Aspik once. Acting like it’s your first time when it wasn’t.”

“Bleh, don’t remind me, I was bald!” Chat shuddered briefly. “And also I did suck as Aspik.”

“No you didn’t, you were wonderful!”

He blankly stared back at her, “It took me 25,913 times before I had to give up and Viperion had to help us out.”

Ladybug winced at the number, that was a lot of times. Her poor kitty. “Ok, maybe so, but that’s because we also needed Chat Noir and obviously we couldn’t have both Chat and Aspik… and…well, you were the one who picked Viperion as the new holder, not me.”

He scrunched his eyebrows, “Really? I thought…”

“You were, I literally couldn’t think of who else I could give the snake miraculous to and you brought up Lu-er-Viperion to use it.” She chuckled sheepishly, “He wasn’t even on my radar, honestly. At least one of us had our eyes open. Also, another bonus, I thought Aspik happened to be pretty cute too.”

Chat Noir furrowed his brows, “Cute? You thought-I was bald!” He argued back with a laugh and Ladybug blushed furiously. “You thought Aspik who was bald was cute and Chat Noir with luscious hair was average? M’lady, come on!” He drawled out his voice in dramatic exasperation.

“I can’t help it! I think you’re always cute.” Chat Noir raised an eyebrow. “And yes I did think Chat Noir was cute too! Remember all that flirting I did a few months back before Monarch was defeated? It was because I thought you were cute!”

He blinked and his ears perked up, “Really? Huh…”

“What did you think I was doing?!”

Chat Noir sucked in a breath and rubbed the back of his neck abashed, “I…I honestly thought you were testing me. I didn’t think you’d actually fall for me, M’lady.” He shrugged at Ladybug’s incredulous look, “You made it pretty clear in the past you would never see me that way, so I didn’t take it as such.”

She frowned guiltily; she did remember the numerous times she had turned Chat down. Ugh, she’s such an idiot! She wished she could smack her past self for doing that. Her and Adrichat could have been together much sooner if she hadn’t. “I’m sorry, Kitty, I should have made myself more clear.” She groaned, “Why am I like this?”

Chat smiled sympathetically, his eyes soft. She can clearly see her boyfriend under that mask, how didn’t she before? “Don’t beat yourself up, we still got together, didn’t we? Just as civilians instead of as superheroes. Everyday Ladybug with her everyday Chat.” He winked.

Her lips twitched into a smile as she reached and scratched his head. “Well, you have grown your hair out as Adrien like Chat Noir, silly kitty.”

Chat Noir leaned into the touch with a pleased smile, “And you already have the same hair as both Marinette and Ladybug…well Ladybug’s got red tips at the end now, but still similar.”

“Yea, I wanted to change it up a bit.”

“It looks good, M’lady, it suits you.” He lightly pecked her nose, making her giggle. She leaned in close, her head leaned against his shoulder, the sun now settled below the horizon. If this was a dream, she didn’t want to wake up.

“Hey, bugaboo…”

“Hm?”

“Guess this can last forever after all, huh?”

A wide grin broke across her face, “Yes, my sweet kitty, yes it can.”

—————————————————————————

Alya followed Nino down the road, both with ice cream in hand. They just finished one of their dates, and she had learned a lot more about Nino since he promised to start being more honest with her, instead of just agreeing with everything.

As they passed the bakery, both turned to hear familiar voices shouting at each other followed by the sound of hysterical laughter. Ladybug was yelling for Chat to come back as he ran…and landed on Marinette’s balcony?

Huh. She gets why Ladybug would go there, but why Chat Noir?

“Chat, please, it’s embarrassing!” Ladybug whined as she detransformed back into Marinette.

“Aw, come on, M’lady, I want to see all the drawings you made of me from the other day!” Chat Noir grinned…and detransformed into Adrien. Marinette immediately leapt towards him and attempted to get the book back as Adrien held it away, both ended up laughing again.

Alya’s eyes blew wide, Chat Noir is Adrien?! They revealed their identities to each other?! How did this happen? Wait, that means not just Marinette, but Adrien was acting like he'd never seen any of what they showed him before.

“Dude…no way.” Alya’s breath hitched as she glanced over at her boyfriend. Crap, Nino knows, he shouldn’t know! Alya opened her mouth to say something before he spoke again, “Ladybug and Chat Noir stole our backups?!” He groaned loudly, “No fair! No wonder why, Marinette and Adrien said no to us!”

Alya slowly blinked as he pouted. “Nino…”

“Can’t you believe this, Alya?!”

She sighed in relief, and lightly rolled her eyes. Alya comfortingly held his hand. “Well, like you said our friends are pretty amazing.”

Nino sighed and gave a wry smile, “Yea…I must have advertised them too good to Ladybug the other day.”

Alya bit back a laugh, “Come on pretty boy, they’re going to be too busy with each other all night and we still got a movie to catch.”

Nino hummed as she pulled him along.

She picked an idiot, but he’s her idiot.

Notes:

Thanks for reading, I hope you enjoyed some fluff especially if you read the angst fic I made recently lol. Let me know what you think!
I am going to make a fic that focuses on the lie, likely will be canon divergent from Lady Chaos…that ep…why Marinette, just why. Gah, I hope Adrien finds out in canon soon.
…for now, let’s pretend canon was just a nightmare and enjoy the fluff lol.
