Despite having been considered a child prodigy (or even a 'genius,' as some teachers used to point out in parent-teacher meetings), there was only one thing Jayce failed to learn in 18 years of her life:
Share.
It's not like she was a bad, selfish girl, because she definitely wasn't. Jayce was a sweet child who loved helping others, and as outgoing as a puppy in a park on a sunny day. She was surrounded by friends, but somehow, she was always seen playing alone on her school's playground while the other children ignored her presence.
Not because she was antisocial, but rather because, by that point, everyone already knew that she shouldn't be disturbed while playing with her toys.
But it wasn't something they seemed to worry about, however, because as soon as they stepped back into the classroom, they were all close friends again. It didn't change the fact that it used to be a recurring complaint at meetings and in notices in Jayce's school diaries, because it seemed impossible to teach Jayce to share things without her bursting into tears of frustration and becoming so angry that her face turned red.
In a world where things could be taken easily (like her father's life when she was only seven years old), it was natural that she would strive to keep what was hers.
Until Viktoria moved into Jayce's class, and automatically gaining the girl's attention.
Back then, she didn't yet know she was Viktoria. Instead, she had met a skinny little boy named Viktor, who was constantly bullied by mean boys because of a leg problem that forced him to walk awkwardly with his flimsy cane. Jayce never investigated exactly why he walked so strangely, but she immediately felt a strong sense of protection seeing someone so small suffering at the hands of mean boys.
It wasn't long before Jayce Talis, a naturally large and protective girl, was intimidating back any human who even dared to give this little boy the side-eye.
And with that, it wasn't long before they both became great friends as well.
In the view of Jayce's teachers and mother, this friendship had been a miracle in the girl's life, because suddenly it became very common to see Jayce sharing anything (and I repeat, anything at all) with her new friend. From pencils and pens, large stickers from her notebook to even her precious toys.
It was comical in a way, because Jayce had learned not only to share, but also to provide.
When Ximena forgot to restock the ingredients to make a large batch of food for Jayce's lunchbox the previous day, you could see her reaching into her piggy bank and running like lightning to the nearest convenience store to make sure her lunch was enough to ensure Viktor would eat as well as she did. It would have been adorable if it hadn't wiped out all her savings in just two months, but if her new friendship was happy, it was worth it.
It was a completely adorable friendship, but as time went on, it became clear that Jayce's old habits regarding possessiveness would never disappear, because the jealousy she felt towards Viktor was becoming worrying.
It wasn't that she didn't like her friend having other friends, because she had followed his adjustment process at the new school and seen how difficult it was for him to fit in. She liked that he was finally being properly loved, but the idea of sharing her friend with people who would never understand him as well as she did made her sick.
While Viktor played on the playground with other girls (because the boys' games were too rough for his leg's comfort, and he didn't even miss them that much), Jayce was on the other side, arms crossed and with such an unhappy look that you'd think she'd been kicked out of the game.
Those were the only times she felt bad for being so possessive, because her plastic robot wouldn't be upset with her if Jayce prevented it from playing with other girls — Viktor, who was a real person with his own problems, would be. So, besides learning to share, she had kept her own jealousy to herself, because she hated the sad kitten look Viktor gave her when he asked "are you mad at me?" whenever he caught Jayce being jealous.
It was more painful to see Viktor sad than to see him with girls who were more understanding, and consequently nicer, than she was, so Jayce gradually learned to deal with her own feelings as she matured so that they wouldn't affect her friend's happiness and freedom. It was the least she could do for him, but at the same time, it was so difficult that it felt like the most she could do.
But, just as she used to stick stickers and write her own name on the feet of each of her toys, she devised a sneaky way to mark her territory on Viktor.
It started with small details: a friendship bracelet here, a plastic ring there, and when everyone least expected it, Viktor was even wearing Jayce's ridiculously larger clothes.
Growing up, things got easier when they discovered Viktoria's existence, and Jayce was able to see firsthand that quirky little boy (whom she still loved intensely) becoming the most beautiful woman she had ever seen.
A beautiful woman wearing clothes she had bought, makeup Jayce had given her as gifts, and, by God, even the Talis family insignia as a pendant on her necklace. It was no surprise to discover that Viktoria even wore underwear Jayce had selected on their joint shopping day — and, as a bonus, she even had the opportunity to see Viktoria trying on pretty panties and bras that accommodated her slowly growing breasts in accordance with her hormone therapy.
The peak of her obsession came during her first summer job, where she pooled all her savings to buy Viktoria a cane in her family's official colors. She had to look in the mirror and repeatedly tell herself she wasn't suffering from possessiveness after this feat, but even if she truly was, Viktoria didn't seem to mind as she enjoyed the first quality cane she had ever owned in her entire life. That was great, in the end.
And even though this didn't deter the useless men who tried to steal her friend with cheap pick-up lines and pretty smiles, Jayce was present in every detail of Viktoria's existence, and that made her completely happy.
That's why, when her friend mentioned Dmitri, she didn't tremble with hatred as she usually did when men were mentioned in general.
"Did he officially ask you out, or did you have to make the first move?" Jayce asked playfully, taking another sip from the glass of wine he'd stolen from his mother's cellar.
If she was old enough to vote and drive, no stupid law would stop her from having a little alcohol with her pretty friend while her mother was away on a business trip. Ximena wouldn't miss a few sips, after all.
Viktoria chuckled softly, nudging Jayce lightly with her elbow as she looked away shyly. The best part of drinking with Viktoria was how easily she became shy, and mixing the blush from the wine with her embarrassment, made the most adorable thing Jayce had ever seen in her life.
"I know what you're saying about him, okay? And I know you think I always make the first move, but..."
"’But?’ Vikkie, you're easily the prettiest girl in the whole school. You shouldn't be subjecting yourself to always making the first move with that hideous guy.”
"It's easy for you to say," she said with a small smile, trying not to make the atmosphere heavy, "you always have girls at your feet, and he's the first person who's really shown interest in me beyond a few flirts."
"I only have 'girls at my feet' because I hit on them first. That's being a gentleman, and you shouldn't be in that position."
Viktoria scratched her arm, visibly nervous. Then, she took an unfortunate sip from her wine glass, staring thoughtfully at the floor. The scene made Jayce's heart melt, so she didn't hesitate to place her hands on the thigh of the girl beside her, gently caressing the area to ease her tension.
And Viktoria, who was more cat than girl, softened at the caress.
"I'm sorry, V. I just don't like him, so absolutely any move he makes will irritate me. But I respect you both, okay?"
That was a complete lie, because there was nothing Jayce hated more in this world than that boy.
Contrary to what her friends said, Jayce's hatred for Dmitri had been brewing even before she noticed the passionate way he looked at Viktoria for the first time, and although that was the main reason Jayce could say out loud that she hated him, she already found him irritating for other reasons.
Not that she could state her reasons without sounding completely paranoid, but they had existed since elementary school, when he "accidentally" stuck a piece of chewing gum in Jayce's hair (she would never believe that) and made her hate him all this time.
Everyone could have gotten over that and other insignificant moments when Dmitri had been an idiot, but Jayce couldn't, and seeing her best friend with such a complete jerk was like a stab in the heart. It helped her rage that the guy was a total idiot with no backbone who took months to properly ask Viktoria out, but it was a delicate matter to discuss with her.
"I know you don't like him, I just didn't want to risk losing his interest. You can't expect that much chivalry when you weren't born cis and body-abled, you understand?" she said softly, tilting her head to the side as she stared at Jayce. "But I'm more nervous about him kicking me out because I don't know how to kiss than about anything else."
Her playful smile and the way she tucked a strand of her short hair behind her ear indicated that she was changing the subject, and Jayce let her. The correct approach would be to say that a good man wouldn't distinguish between trans girls and cis girls when practicing chivalry, and that Viktoria deserves to be treated like a ray of sunshine that fell to earth as a gift from some celestial being.
But, besides being under the influence of alcohol, she deserved to spend at least one afternoon worrying about trivial problems and kisses like any other teenager instead of being consumed by gender dysphoria. For at least one afternoon, Viktoria should worry about something sillier than the thought that she would never be loved because she wasn't born "right”.
Because Jayce loved her, and she would show it in her own way so as not to alarm her friend.
"He wouldn't be stupid enough to dismiss such a pretty girl flirting with him over such nonsense," Jayce scoffed with a chuckle, taking another sip from her glass. "Besides, kissing is easy. You just have to let yourself be guided."
"Oh, I forgot I was speaking to a professional in the field. Tell me, Ms. Talis, what could you teach a mere mortal with no knowledge whatsoever?"
"For once, you big nerd," Jayce said playfully, poking her friend's forehead, "you need to understand that something doesn't work in theory. Kisses are practice, and you don't know how to kiss until you practice."
A small "mhm" escaped Viktoria's throat, and she seemed genuinely disappointed.
And Jayce, being the foolishly devout woman she was, could never let Viktoria's disappointment last for long.
"I could teach you in a practical way, though," Jayce suggested as she ran her fingers through her long hair, treating the subject casually so as not to alarm Viktoria.
That didn't work, because the girl's eyes widened and she blushed like a tomato. It was as if Jayce suddenly had three heads, but she couldn't deny that the reaction was funny.
"Have you gone crazy? It's almost a universal agreement that friends don't kiss!"
"And we wouldn't be kissing, we'd be training. I wouldn't mind preparing you for bigger fish, so you wouldn't embarrass yourself. Besides, you yourself said I was an expert, didn't you?"
Viktoria gasped in disbelief at her friend's words, staring at Jayce as if she had suggested they have sex to train Viktoria for her first time, instead of just a few kisses to help her.
Perhaps Jayce would do that in the near future, but one step at a time.
"Contrary to what you think, friends do this all the time. Haven't you ever been to a slumber party?"
"Only with you, but we never used to kiss, just play Super Mario Kart."
"I've always been very lesbian and neither of us knew you were a girl, so we should make up for lost time."
Viktoria put both hands to her face in shock, and all Jayce could do was laugh like a child as she set their glasses down on the coffee table. Now, her hand was free to stroke her friend's hair as a comforting gesture; after all, she knew how even the thought of holding hands made Viktoria break out in a cold sweat, so imagine a whole kiss.. She was the one who had caused that reaction.
And, contrary to what she thought, Viktoria really seemed to be thinking about it. She spread two fingers to get a partial view of Jayce with her hands on her face, and when she seemed confident enough to look at her again, she placed her hands in her lap.
"Promise you won't laugh at me if I accidentally lick your chin," she questioned in a thin, low voice, like that of a mouse, while stretching out her little finger.
"I would never laugh at you, V."
"Promise it," she insisted, bringing her finger close to Jayce's face.
Jayce, for her part, rolled her eyes, but quickly crossed the digits as a sign of a promise. There were few things she wouldn't do for her girl, even if they were still considered childish.
"Promised, you see?"
"Okay," Viktoria dictated, trying to sound confident as she stiffened her posture on the sofa. "Now...you have to guide me. What should I do?"
"If Dmitri isn't a complete wimp, you won't have to do anything. But if you don't want to feel useless, you can sit on my lap."
Viktoria stared at her for a few seconds, as if considering what sitting on her best friend's lap would imply. It was almost funny to see this shyness when Jayce had already hosted the girl between her legs several times at random moments in their lives, but at that moment, it seemed like something more to Viktoria.
It wasn't as if it wasn't something more for Jayce too; after all, how could she not feel strange at the idea of a pretty girl sitting on her lap, face to face, about to kiss her? Her insides were churning, and she almost melted from where she was.
And Jayce would never (never ever) mention that she could feel Viktoria's hard cock hidden under her skirt against her stomach, because that would be a secret only she knew. She would keep to herself the moment she saw her friend aroused just by the idea of kissing, and pray that idiots like Dmitri would never share that experience with her.
Then, after several long seconds of thinking about it, Viktoria moved. Slowly, she wrapped her legs around Jayce's waist, sitting shyly on her thick thighs, as if this hadn't been her home before. Face to face, but looking down so as not to risk choking on her own saliva at the sight of how much Jayce desired her.
And she looked so beautiful.
"Come on, you're doing great. I was shy during my first kiss too, but it's just you and me here. You need to trust me, okay?"
After being answered with a slow nod, Jayce smiled sweetly to ease Viktoria's tension, who in turn smiled back at her friend and relaxed a little more in her lap.
Jayce needed a lot of self-control not to jump on her.
"Okay, then," Jayce whispered, wrapping her hands around the girl's waist. It was a mistake, because she couldn't focus on anything else but the fact that their thumbs had met, "Are you ready?"
"Yes," she replied simply, placing her hands on Jayce's shoulders.
"Follow my moves, Vikkie."
Their faces were so close that their lips met effortlessly when Jayce made her first move, immediately closing her eyes to savor the sensation of Viktoria's cherry-balm-flavored lips. For the second time, she found herself needing a tremendous amount of self-control not to devour the girl, because she didn't want to scare her. Viktoria deserved her first kiss to be given with patience and care, and that's why Jayce deserved to be the one to give it to her before anyone else.
Moreover, if her patience had led her to a moment like this, then it would always be worth waiting for Viktoria Reveck.
Kissing her after so long (years, almost a whole decade) of only admiring her from afar was like tasting ambrosia. She tasted like lip balm, expensive red wine and mint mouthwash, and the combination of flavors threatened to overwhelm Jayce with so much delicious information.
Their lips moved cautiously, their mouths open as they sighed heavily against each other. Jayce guided Viktoria, and Viktoria, besides being the best of the apprentices, trembled like an autumn leaf in her lap. She gasped heavily, seeming to swallow some moans to avoid embarrassment.
But Jayce, who was not only hungry for Viktoria, was also very sadistic.
She held the girl firmly by the waist, gently laying her down on the sofa while positioning herself above her. There was no break in lip contact; both seemed too focused on their work to care about the intimate exchange of positions. She moved delicately, not only to avoid frightening her partner but also to tend to her injured leg, because even though she might be a sadist, Viktoria's health was more important than her lust.
And there was nothing sexy about making her friend cry in pain for not properly caring for her disability. It was a desperate scenario, and one that Jayce would never unleash while she was alive.
Viktoria only seemed to snap back to reality when Jayce positioned her hands deep inside her thigh, pressing firmly against the warm skin. She recoiled with a groan, staring at the woman nervously — not annoyed, but surprised.
"Can you be nice and open your mouth for me, V? I'll show you how to french kiss now."
"What would a french kiss be?"
Jayce smiled. Goodness, how adorable this girl was.
"You'll see."
And Viktoria, who had always been more curious than shy, opened her mouth wide enough for them to move on to the second part of their study.
Jayce's tongue quickly entered Viktoria's mouth, and didn't take long to explore every corner with eagerness. There was no desperation in her movements, which seemed slow enough to appear tortuous to Viktoria, destined only to follow Jayce's movements without accelerating or hurrying. However, they seemed hungry enough for Jayce to feel the other girl's intimacy writhing against her stomach, desperate and aroused by just an innocent kiss.
Who was she trying to fool? There was nothing innocent about the kiss or Jayce's intentions, as she explored the inside of Viktoria's mouth with renewed vigor. The calm she had maintained began to fade the moment the other girl desperately gripped her face, moaning against Jayce's mouth every time her tongue explored a new corner of Viktoria's mouth.
And Jayce made a point of hearing more of those wonderful sounds, pausing briefly to bite the girl's lower lip just to see her open her eyes and look at her with her 'fuck me' eyes. Her moans were so low it was as if they came out involuntarily, and Viktoria looked nothing less than divine this way.
She was definitely a great student, and that was evident in the way their tongues danced a beautiful dance as they competed for space in Viktoria's mouth. She allowed herself to be easily dominated, not complaining even about the possessive way Jayce practically devoured her, and willingly accepting the touch on the inside of her thigh, very close to her clit which throbbed for attention. Her moans even grew higher as Jayce's hand approached the spot, but she never touched there, enjoying her desperate reaction.
Jayce had no idea how far her provocations would go, because Viktoria pulled away from the kiss with a drawn-out, high-pitched moan, almost crying.
She only understood the reason when she looked down, visualizing her friend's skirt lifted, exposing her white panties (God, the same one she had helped her buy at the store) with a large stain on the front — a stain that leaked a translucent liquid, and this almost made Jayce lose her mind.
"Oh my God..." Viktoria stammered in a tearful tone, her cheeks so red she looked feverish. "I didn't know that was possible. I'm so sorry! Did I get you dirty? I took my shot this morning and—"
All Jayce heard was buzzing, so she barely noticed her rude act of interrupting such a beautiful girl while she was talking, begging to kiss her with all her might. Absolutely nothing else was going through her head besides 'Viktoria came while kissing me'. In a maniacal way, she began to repeat: 'I need this to happen one more time'.
Her hands were now inside her ruined panties, moving her member up and down rapidly as she licked every inch of the girl's mouth, devouring every corner that seemed forgotten as if it were a delicious feast. It definitely was, because there seemed to be nothing tastier in the world than the combination of red wine, mint, and cherry, and Jayce swore that this could be her breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Viktoria readily accepted, moving her hips upwards in search of more friction while letting out the most beautiful sounds. It was music to Jayce's ears, who wasn't intimidated as she moved his hand faster and faster while kissing the other girl.
"You're so beautiful," she whispered stupidly to Viktoria. "Come to me again, please. Let me see it again, princess. Please? Please?"
This seemed like the perfect combination, because Viktoria squeezed her eyes shut as she let out another of those cute moans signaling the end. Her body trembled as she completely melted onto the sofa, throwing her head back as she cried out of sheer hypersensitivity. Her legs quickly closed to contain the sensations that seemed overwhelming, but Jayce continued squeezing every last drop of her partner's orgasm until she was weakly tapping Jayce's arm to indicate that it was too much.
And she stopped, but took advantage of that moment while Viktoria processed the recent events to admire how beautiful she looked amidst the orgasmic mist.
She was breathing so heavily it was as if they had just had sex for hours, when it had only been a hand job and a kiss. This made Jayce laugh, resting her forehead on her friend's shoulder.
"Is every french kiss like this?" she asked weakly, breathless as if she'd run a marathon.
"Only those given by special friends. Dmitri would hardly do that, but it's good practice," Jayce explained with a good-natured smile on her face. "Now I'm going to bathe you, okay? You can sleep here tonight, V."
And as she bathed Viktoria, she had a smile on her face as if she had just discovered the secret to happiness, feeling nothing less than lucky and special.
Because boys like Dmitri would never have the chance to experience a sight like that, or the luck of being Viktoria's first. She was the only one, and that wouldn't change even with a marriage proposal from a random man.
Jayce had one more mark on Viktoria, and that was enough for her.
