Chapter Text
Gvan’s tail flicked against the hardwood floor, a soft rattling sound coming from it as it scraped at the wood. He glared down at his reflection in the whiskey, his own exhausted face staring back at him. He was trying to relax from his job, things had been busy recently, summer rush and all that, which had left Gvan grumpier and more agitated than usual. His coworkers had noticed this whenever he came back to their headquarters from a hit, covered in blood and growling; even on a good day, when everything went according to plan, the mix of blood and sweat sticking to his grey skin made him want to tear off his own skin in a fit of rage. He hated whenever he could feel how beads of sweat could drip down his face, neck, back, really anywhere, because the feeling was so… overwhelming for him, same with the feeling when his metal fingers brushed up against other metal, it made his skin crawl.
His tail flicked against the floor again, more forcefully but not knocking anything over. As he took a sip from his cup, the burning feeling of the whiskey down his throat was almost good enough to get his mind off the heat currently overwhelming his systems. Oh how he hated the summer here. It was on average a sweltering 40 degrees (104 degrees in Fahrenheit), and the lowest it got was 33 (93).
He continued to bitch to himself for a bit, not aware of the person currently watching him from the corner, a thick veil of smoke surrounding them as they stared him down, examining him with careful thought.
Jetpack took a long drag of his cigarette, his target-eye scanning over him like a hunter watching its prey, waiting to strike. He was interesting, to say the least. His grey skin was strange enough, but what really caught him off-guard was the shark-like tail swishing behind him, nearly tripping the few people brave enough to walk past him. His eye narrowed. He had never seen him around before. Which was odd, he usually knew (and got laid by) every man in this small city, so someone new was interesting. The grey-man must’ve just arrived in town, because Jetpack was sure he would’ve saw him if he was here earlier.
Making up his mind, he put the cigarette out and stood up, straightening his jacket before walking over to the man, sitting down on the barstool next to him.
Gvan looked over, perplexed on what this man was doing. He narrowed his eyes, distrust mixing in his gut. Jetpack only hummed, sliding an unoccupied cup over to him, running his finger against the rim of the glass before picking it up and taking a sip of it. Bourbon, he didn’t like the stuff, but he drank it anyways to keep up his facade.
Gvan grumbled and turned away, downing the rest of his whiskey and roughly setting it down on the table, make the bar tender jump slightly.
Jetpack let out a huff of air as he saw the man getting up, his tail dragging against the wood of the floor tiredly as he stepped outside, slamming the door shut so hard it made every one in the bar jump. Jetpack wasn't happy about this, he was planning on talking to the man, if he had stayed, and flirting his way into bed with him, like he did with any other man he found even slightly attractive in this dumb town. He didn't know why he was like this. He was used to it by now; wake up next to some stranger, either naked or fully clothed, who knows, then make sure they're asleep before looting their house for valuables and selling them at the local pawn shop (the worker was used to him by now, he had been doing this for years). Go down to the river bed and say hello to his homeless friend, Rodrigo, and smoke some blunts with him till noon, then go to the bar and smoke some cigarettes, find someone to hit on, go home with them and get laid, rinse and repeat.
He was used to the slurs by now, they lived rent-free in his mind as he got plowed, but he pretended not to mind. He couldn’t let anyone see that they got to him, not after last time.
His target-eyes flicked over to the side, its colour fading into a dark blue as he remembered the ‘last time.’ He wished he could’ve saved them, and he blamed himself everyday for what happened.
He shook his head, washing away the blue creeping into his eye and looked around, gaze landing on a very handsome young man; his eye widened, then drooped into a more seductive shape. He stood up, walking over to him.
"Heya sweetcheeks~" Jetpack purred, lust practically dripping from his voice as he leaned down to meet the person's eye level. they leaned back, a little surprised at his sudden arrival.
"Uh, hey." He replied, hesitancy filling his voice as he took a sip of his drink.
"You look like someone who could use a little fun in their life~" Jetpack said, their voice carrying smoothly over the sound of jazz softly playing over the radio.
"I guess so..."
"What about this; you let me stay over," He paused for dramatic affect, and the other man leaned a little towards him. "And I let you have your way with me. Sound fair?" He let out a small hum, tilting his head to the side a little bit.
The man looked at him like he was crazy, but stood up anyways, grabbing his arm and dragging him out of the bar. If Jetpack had a mouth, he would’ve been smiling.
He knew exactly what people wanted at these times; a cheap lay. Sure, it was a little sardonic to himself, but to be fair, he did need the cash.
He also loved to show off his… special talents~ in bed.
Flashback to Gvan, who is speeding down the road, his ushanka flapping in the wind, and he growls whenever it brushes against his fins too hard.
He slowed down when he neared a street, eventually turning off his motorbike and creeping through the shadows until he reached his target’s house. Pressing his back against a wall, he peeked through an open window, seeing a dark, empty living room through it.
He sighed. They weren’t home yet. This would make his job take longer, but at least he could have a good smoke while he waited.
Pulling out a box of cigarettes, he pulled one out and lit it with his finger, taking a drag out and sitting down on the ground, watching as the smoke drifted up towards the star-filled sky.
He would’ve fallen asleep if it weren’t for the sound of a car pulling up alerted him. He quickly put the cigarette out with his fingers and peeked back into the window, watching as the front door was hastily opened and shut again. His yellow eyes widened in disbelief at who his target was dragging along with him.
It was that man from the bar! Who look incredibly smug if you would ask him. He grumbled, that moment of hesitation cost him a perfect opportunity to take his shot. He stood, making sure to keep to the shadows as he made his way over the room where he saw the pair disappear into.
Jetpack was thrown roughly on the bed, and his eyes drooped seductively, and he grabbed onto the other man’s arms, staring up at him.
“So, what’re you gonna do with me?” He asked, already starting to slip into the ‘fuckboy’ personality as he stared up at the other.
The man only grinned and flipped him around, making him let out a soft huff of air, but soon he looked back at the man, a smirk etched into his target-eye.
“Yer a rough one, yea? I like that in a man~” Jetpack drawled, arching his back and swaying his ass teasingly.
“You have no idea…” Said the man, as he loosened both their belts, unzipping his own fly and harshly pulling down Jetpack’s pants, making him hold back a grumble of discomfort.
He readied himself as he felt the other man grab his hips, and he gripped the sheets as they forcefully pushed themself into him, a noise between a wince and a moan left him as they started to pound into him.
Outside, Gvan ducked away, covering his mouth and gagging. He may have been a trained hitman, but oh god what the fuck was that gross. Sliding his hand down his face, he took a deep breath, closing his eyes and grumbling.
He stepped back to the window, switching his hand into a gun, he tried to keep it as steady as possible as he aimed it towards the target. He watched his movements for a moment, waiting until it was just the right moment… then he took his shot. The bullet had broken the window, and he flinched back, grateful for his fast reflexes as he eyed the glass of the grass.
Inside, the target dropped down on top of the bed, but thankfully Jetpack had already moved away, his target-eye small as he eyes the blood leaking out of the bullet hole in their head.
He looked out to the broken window, but saw no one, and heard nothing. Shakily getting up, he looked over at the dead body one last time before getting himself more ‘presentable,’ and walking out of the room.
One little death shouldn’t rock him so much; he has seen so much worse, and to his own-
He tugged at his antenna, stopping that train of thought before it could spiral further.
Looking around, he spotted a a bag that probably wouldn’t be missed, and grabbed it; now he was trying to find this persons jewelry.
To be fair, it wasn’t technically robbery if they were dead, unless they lived with someone else, then… oh well?
After a bit of shoveling whatever valuable-ish looking objects he could find into the bag, he quickly wiped himself of all the blood and walked to the front door, opening it and peeking outside, being sure no one was watching before he slipped out, leaving the door open just a crack as he quickly yet quietly ran down the road, bag in-hand as he made his way over to the pawn shop.
Meanwhile, Gvan was slipping through the shadows, trying his best not to vomit as he made his way to his bike, oh his bike, his beloved bike.
He took a sigh of relief once he saw it, and propped himself against it as his chest heaved.
Not because he was tired but because like what the fuck was that?!
He hadn’t thought he would be this disgusted when seeing someone doing… uhm… the plug ‘n socket. Sure he had thought about it before, mostly when he and Katana were dating, but he had never liked the thought of it.
His hand gripped the seat of his motorbike and he released one more huff of air before standing up more fully, straightening out his jacket and hopping onto his bike and starting it; he let the rumbling ground him for a second before speeding down the road, letting the rushing wind cool his body as he rode off.
