Chapter Text
Flamefrags left into hiding immediately when an army of Law's men began approaching Lomedy's farm.
Lomedy tried to stop Flamefrags from running, even offered the demon his mace; but, it was useless. Lomedy didn't expect anything more from Flame anyways- he's grown disappointed in the demon a long time now.
Flame's constant race for his name was bound to lead him to bad places and even worse decisions sooner or later, Lomedy perfectly knew. And no matter how much sense he tried to shove into Flamefrags' head, he had no proper results.
Flamefrags wasn't one to run, especially if he knew Lomedy was in danger; but, seems he valued his name way more than he could've ever valued Lomedy's friendship.
And if his name was at risk of getting completely destroyed again and again, he found nothing wrong in running from trouble, even if running would give him an even worse reputation. The demon knew he had no chance of winning this anyways.
So, now, Lomedy was only left alone with his new friends and a pathetic mace to his name- decorated in bright yellow, almost similar to a sun; shining so bright, surrounded by lawmen and the TNT they placed all over the place.
Lomedy could've tried to call out, to ask them to stop- but, he didn't. He figured complying to whatever the Law wanted would be smarter than trying to take them all by himself.
Lomedy's hand gripped around the handle of his mace, for a second contemplating if he should resort to violence- but, he stayed still, deciding to stay by his morals. If he began attacking them all right now, what better would he be than Flamefrags?
One of the Law's members- seems like the deputy- ordered a few men to follow after Flamefrags, tracing Flame's horse's steps in the snow and dirt.
The deputy then stepped up towards the house Lomedy was standing ontop of, the remaining warriors following close by his step.
Lomedy's eyes narrowed, his gaze running over the blown up and burning houses of his farm.
You know what, fuck the morals.
Lomedy swung his mace back, the weight almost making him fall over- but, he swiftly jumped down from the roof, landing on the ground with a loud thud of his mace against the space right beside the deputy. His aim still sucked.
Lomedy carefully pulled his mace out of the dent he just made in the ground, his breaths heavy.
The deputy slightly stumbled back, swiftly ordering his men to attack- at which Lomedy clicked his tongue with slight annoyance.
"You two!" Lomedy called out to his friends still on the roof, pulling his mace after himself with a screech of the metal that made his skin crawl. "Get out of here!"
The other two farmers took the hint- they couldn’t possibly help Lomedy in any way, so they jumped off aswell and ran off into the forest.
Lomedy tensed when he saw atleast five law members running at him. And really, Lomedy knew that he was no good in fighting. After all, a farmer couldn't possibly take a whole army down; but, if he was getting arrested or killed, he'd atleast give them something to arrest and kill him for.
The farmer swung his mace, taking a wide step back for better balance on his feet. The mace's strength almost made him start circling around himself, too, but not before he smashed the side of somebody's skull into pieces with an uncomfortable crunch of the bone against metal. The person crashed into a nearby house with such force it made the wood crunch and break, their armor cracked.
The other law members paused for a second- a bit surprised by Lomedy's strength.
Lomedy quickly punctured the mace right into the ground to stop himself from spinning around too much. His acceleration remained for a moment longer, almost making him slip when speeding around the mace, before pausing completely.
Sure, Lomedy might've wasted almost all of his energy on that one hit, but it definetly was worth it. And Lomedy might've kicked his morals out of the window completely, but hell, now he somehow began to understand the satisfaction of fighting Flamefrags so passionately described.
"Lomedy. We'll need you to surrender." The deputy called out, pausing his men's attack.
Lomedy blinked, his back slowly straightening, his grip around the mace still tight. "Huh?" He let out a breathy mutter, a drop of sweat slowly trickling down his forehead.
"We don't need to kill you. All we need is a few questions answered." The deputy stepped forward.
"You burnt down my farm, bro!" Lomedy complained, taking a step back in sync to the deputy, his mace pulled behind himself. "Just leave."
"This was necessary."
"If you guys wanted Flamefrags, just go after him!" Lomedy pointed into the direction Flamefrags ran off to. "Im just tryna farm."
"Oh, we don't need Flamefrags for now." The deputy smirked.
Lomedy was about to speak more, but got caught off guard by somebody getting him into a hold with an arm around his neck, making his head snap back and hit the person's chin. "Shit-" Lomedy gasped out, trying to fight back against the person's grip; but, who knew that macing would take so much energy?
His punches acted more like light pats against their armor, his eyes wide when he saw the deputy stepping up to his mace.
And though he and Flamefrags weren’t really friends now- the mace still was brought back by the demon. He figured that the mace was the only reminder of what Flamefrags used to be, and their friendship, no matter how bittersweet it felt sometimes to look at it that way.
"Hey! Don't you- Okay, I surrender, bro!" Lomedy shouted out, completely giving up on trying to escape, his shoulders slumped.
The deputy tilted his head, his fingers slowly wrapping around the mace's handle. "That's what I thought. I'll be taking this for now." He murmured, carefully storing the mace onto his back.
Lomedy was about to protest, when he felt his wrists get handcuffed behind himself, making him deadpan.
"Yeah, you don't have to do all that." Lomedy grumbled, grunting when pushed forward by the person behind him. He scowled, his head slightly turned to give the person a side glance- not threatening, but not apathetic either.
"Follow me." The deputy nodded, a disgusting(as Lomedy thought) smile on his face. Too sweet for Lomedy's taste- too forced and scretched.
Still, Lomedy complied, following the deputy. He glanced around, the warriors surrounding them completely- seems like there was no way out for now.
Besides, Lomedy didn't really see a point in trying to escape; he'll just rot in the prison for a while, and then go back to farming, right?
Lomedy was sat on the back of the deputy's horse, swinging his feet, almost with boredom.
When he looked a bit closer into the warrior's armor, he mentally noted the way their headpieces curled, as if a beak- and the way netherite scretched out in the back like a set of horns. The bling of netherite armor almost made Lomedy's eyes sore, the Law's emblem already engraved deep into his brain.
Despite how nonchalant and unbothered Lomedy tried to seem, his terrified expression still held by, sweat dropping down his chin.
The worst outcomes ever ran through Lomedy's head; and though he wasn't supposed to care about Flamefrags anymore, he couldn't help but be just as scared for him as he is for himself and his other friends. Still, it was wiser to keep lying to himself, and keep repeating that Flamefrags doesn't care, and he'll be fine; even if Lomedy saw how panicked Flame looked when he had to make a decision- even if he picked the wrong one.
Lomedy had clearly shown that he wants nothing to do with Flame anymore; maybe that's why he ran away.
His own thoughts made his face twist in annoyance, his eyes digging into the grass the Law's horses kept clicking by, making small gusts of wind across the blades, shifting them aside.
Lomedy didn't even notice how the horses halted, almost making him stumble forward. He quickly straightened his back again, blinking at the already familiar area he found himself in; the Law's base.
The deputy helped Lomedy off the horse, starting to pull him into the town.
However, the place Lomedy was led to didn't look like the prison; instead, an office of sorts, a giant aquarium with axolotls swimming in it hid behind some long bookshelves by the main desk.
"I thought I was going to prison." Lomedy murmured, his head tilting towards the deputy while the other led the farmer to a chair right across the main desk in the middle of the room.
"We'll see." The deputy huffed, strapping Lomedy's handcuffs to the back of his chair.
Lomedy's eyes narrowed when he saw a face entering the room, their steps slow and their chin lifted up. Lomedy's seen that face before; he knew it all too well from Flame's stories.
Lomedy's brows raised in tension as the figure came out of the shadows, slowly pulling their chair out from behind their desk and plopping down with a quiet purr.
"Hey there." LettuceK smiled, leaning back into his chair, one leg crossed over the other.
