Chapter Text
Thanos was starting to wake up. He was focused on how his whole body felt like it was thrown through a tornado. His head ached, his back hurt, he felt like he couldn't move something without sending pain through his whole body. He tries to think about the night before but everything past a certain point is entirely blank. He turns on his side and just lays there for a solid ten minutes.
He finally starts to open his eyes once the pain in his head got a bit better.
He brings himself to sit up and process his surroundings. It wasnt his house, but he was still familiar with where he was. It was just Nam Gyus place. A sense of relief passes over him now that he knows he didn't wake up in some random dudes house.
Nam gyu worked at Club Pentagon, and sometimes when Thanos was too shit faced to bring himself home Nam Gyu would just take him back to his house house once his shift at the club ended, so Thanos didn't go home with some random bitch or put himself in danger while high or drunk.
Thanos stands up and walks through Nam Gyus apartment. He gets around easily since he's been to the place plenty of times before. He gets to the kitchen and his friend is just sitting at a small table eating a piece of toast while on his phone. Thanos walks over and leans on the counter beside the table.
"What happened last night, bro?"
Thanos says rubbing his eyes still trying to remember what happened at the club
"Pretty much your usual behaviors. Nothing too bad, so you're good."
Nam Gyu replies looking up from his phone for a second to look at Thanos before looking back down at his phone. Thanos nods his head in response not feeling like talking anymore with how horrible his head felt when he talked.
He couldn't help but wish he was on something in the moment.
Thanos couldn't stand feeling like shit anytime the drugs wore off. It was like the universe wanted him to be an addict.
He grabbed his phone out of his pocket and checked the time.
It was already 1pm. Not super late but obviously not early.
He sighs putting his phone back into his pocket and just stands there with his eyes closed. After a bit he speaks up and turns to Nam Gyu.
"Could you give me some Ibuprofen? My head is killing me"
Nam gyu starts to stand up as he responds.
"Yeah I'm pretty sure there's some over here"
Nam Gyu walks over to a cabinet, and pulls out a small bottle that looks like the average over the counter medication.
He tossed the bottle to thanos making sure he was looking before he threw it. He went back to the table and cleaned up his mess. Then left the room leaving Thanos alone.
Thanos grabs a glass which was easy to find due to him being familiar with where things were. He fills the glass up with water, and sets it down on the counter.
He opens the bottle of ibuprofen easily, and takes two before closing the bottle and putting it down.
He puts the pills into his mouth and chugs the water until the glass is empty. It felt like he hasn't had a drink in forever, so this helped a bit with how he was feeling physically.
Though it definitely didn't help enough.
He puts the glass into the sink, and puts the medicine back where Nam Gyu got it from. He leaves the kitchen not needing anything else from there.
He looked around for Nam Gyu, and found him just sitting in his room. As thanos walked in Nam Gyu looked up from his phone. "Hey uh We can hang out and do something if you want I don't have work until 9" Nam Gyu says looking at Thanos. Thanos wanted to hang out especially with Nam Gyu since he was his closest friend, and one of the only people he could stand majority of the time, but Thanos seriously needed to work on his song. He was starting to run a little low on money, and he needed to get something out before it became a genuine problem. He wasnt completey broke, but with his bad habits his money didnt last long. He's procrastinated working on this for a few weeks now. He really just hasn't had any inspiration for something new. He either felt out of it, was all over the place, or he was high out of his mind. None of those states helped him come up with lyrics. Today he was actually going to get a little done. He needed to before it was too late, and he knows that if he decides he'll do it tomorrow that that cycle will just repeat. Thanos replies after getting lost in his thoughts. "Sorry I can't I really need to get some stuff done today man" Nam Gyu nods understanding why he can't hang out and then replies back "Yeah I get it. We should hang out again when you're free and not when I'm at my job" he says with a smile. Thanos agrees "Yeah I'll let you know when I'm free. Going to parties and clubs is a lot more fun when you're with me, and not busy being some waiter boy" The longer haired boy replies as he stands up from the bed he was sitting on. "I can definitely agree with that" He passes by Thanos exiting the room. Thanos follows right behind him, so he can say one more thing. "I'm going to leave now I really need to try and stop pushing my work to the side" Thanos says as he follows his friend "Okay bye man good luck with all of that work" Nam gyu says tuning to his friend to say bye "Bye Nam Su" Thanos says with a smirk mispronouncing his name on purpose just to annoy Nam Gyu. Nam Gyu is used to it he doesn't correct him anymore, but it does get him to roll his eyes or side eye Thanos.
Thanos goes to the front door and quickly puts on his shoes before exiting the apartment. He pulls up the Uber app on his phone because he needs a ride home. As he waits for the Uber to arrive he just stands by the apartment complex scrolling through his socials. It only takes like ten minutes for the Uber to pull up. Thanos gets in and looks out the window as they drive past everything.
He already sort of missed Nam Gyus company, but there's no way in hell he'd ever admit that to someone. Nam Gyu was just someone who didn't judge a ton, and was the kind of person you could just sit in silence with without it feeling awkward. He genuinely enjoyed hanging out with Nam Gyu, but right now he couldn't hang out with him even if he really wanted to.
Thanos apartment was only like twenty minutes away by car, and the time went by fast with Thanos lost in his thoughts. He realizes he made it to his house and steps out of the car. He walks up the stairs that lead to his apartment. He lived in an okay place it was decent. He was only an underground rapper so it's not like he was rich. He also didn't release music very consistently, so sometimes money would become a little tight if he didn't spend his money right. Despite that he always goes through money quickly by spending it on drugs and alcohol. Having bad habits like that was expensive. He'd probably be decently well off if he didn't indulge in his wants and urges so often.
He reaches for the door and opens it. It was already unlocked. Thats a common reoccurrence for him. He forgets to lock his front door pretty often. He slips his shoes off at the front door, and immediately goes to his room. He goes through his clothes looking for something more comfortable to wear. It didn't exactly feel nice being in clothes that you wore out all night. Who knows what there's was on them. He just picks out a baggy hoodie and sweatpants. Didn't exactly need to look presentable when you planned on staying home to come up with lyrics. He takes his clothes into the bathroom and sets them up on the counter He turns on the shower checking it every few seconds making sure it's the right temperature. Once it's where he usually likes it he gets in and washes his body. After that he gets his shampoo and washes his hair. He rises out his hair with cold water. (If you didn't know only washing your hair in cold water helps hair dye last longer) He stands in the shower for a few minutes letting the hot water release a bit of the pain in his body. Once he feels a bit more relaxed he gets out of the shower. He dries himself off and throws on the clothes he picked out before his shower.
Thanos now actually had to try and make progress on a new song. He had someone who helped with the beats, but the lyrics were all him. He seriously needed to work even if it's just a little. He sits down at a desk in the corner of his room, and pulls out a basic looking notebook. This was the notebook he kept all of his ideas in. If someone looked into it they'd say it was a mess, or that it was unorganized. It was sort of true he never tried to organize it, and he didnt plan on trying either. It was sort of a organized chaos kind of thing. He opens the notebook and stares at the page. Now that there were no distractions all of his thoughts come to him like a storm. His mind was full of thought, but not in a good way. It's like he couldn't pin point each thought. His mind was moving too fast. He tried to focus on what he's supposed to be doing, but he just couldn't think correctly. Usually someone would be all drowsy and tired after a long night out. His body definitely felt that way, but for some reason his mind never shut off. Nam Gyus company helped a bit, but when he was alone it was horrible. Thanos tried to think of a solution to try and focus on what needs to get done. After a bit he come to one even though it's definitely not the best, but he didn't care about what was the best he just needed any solution.
Thanos rummages around his room looking for something. He finds it sighing in relief that there's like two left. He takes one of the pills in his mouth. It was just Xanax. Thanos never really thought of Xanax to be something that serious, so this was just the average day for him. This would definitely help him relax a bit more.
Thanos goes back to the desk and sits down. Hopefully it would be a bit easier to get some work done now. After a bit his mind feels like it's at a slower pace. He can finally think a bit more smoother. He grabs a pen and writes the first thing that comes to mind. He let's his mind wander to different things that he could make into a decent song, but not much sticks out. He starts randomly writing lines of stuff that he comes up with in the moment. He looks through what he has so far and crosses some things out. He continues writing and crossing things creating a rough draft of the first verse
He gets up finally feeling a little satisfied with the progress he made. Thanos pulls his phone and checks the time. It's been about three hours since he left Nam Gyus place. Thanos groans at how slow time has been passing. Why can't everyday go by in a second. He looks around thinking of something he can do with his time. He could work on putting together a new song some more, but he already felt drained of his creativity. As he looked around he realized how much of a mess his room was. It looks like he hasn't cleaned it forever. That was one thing he needed to get done, but it's also something he didn't really want to do. He also didn't feel like walking all over his apartment to clean because he was feeling a bit drowsy ever since he took some Xanax. He got up from his chair and sat on his bed to think. He flopped down onto his back and stared at the ceiling waiting for an idea to come into his head, so he can be freed from this bored state. Thanos always wondered if being bored was as excruciatingly painful for everyone else as it was for him. For him being bored was worse than talking to someone you despise. He would rather being doing literally anything else right now. As long as the situation didn't involve him being bored it was still better than being bored. He stays there trying to figure out what to do. It felt like its been hours but when he checked his phone only about five minutes passed. He needed something that would make the time go by quicker.
As he laid down on his bed he started to feel tired, and his eyes felt heavier. It didn't take long for him to drift off into sleep. A lot of time passed while he was asleep. This was probably his body trying to recover from his excessive partying problem.
Thanos was woken up by a call from someone. He grabbed his phone and answered the call without checking who it's from. All he heard on the other side of the phone was something that sounded like loud music muffled. He looked at the caller to see who the hell would be calling him right now. It was Nam Gyu. Why was he calling him during his shift, and then just staying silent.
"Hello? Nam gyu?"
He speaks into the phone wondering if maybe it was an accidental call. He just heard Nam Gyu mumble something that was incoherent. What the fuck was wrong with him.
"Nam Gyu are you good man? Do you need someone to come pick you up or something?"
Thanos says into the phone trying to get more out of his friend. Again all Nam Gyu does is say something incoherent and barely audible. Thanos feels a bit worried at Nam Gyus state. He could tell Nam Gyu was still alive since he was able to hear him, but he was clearly not doing the best. Thanos opened up his phone and went to the Uber app so he could get a ride to Club Pentagon. Thats the only place Nam Gyu could be right now since it was his shift.
"I'm going to come and get you before you do something stupid" Thanos says before hanging up the call.
The Uber comes and Thanos gets in quickly making sure not to waste any time. The whole ride there Thanos can feel his heart beating fast. Thanos mind raced with thoughts. He never realized how much he cared about his friend. Nam Gyu wasn't the kind of guy to do super reckless shit like Thanos, so what was there to worry about? He probably just drank a bit too much without realizing it. Yeah that's most likely what happened. Thanos knew Nam Gyu did do drugs from time to time, but nothing too serious that could put him in life threatening danger. Yeah the only possibility is that he drank way too much and is in some horribly drunken state.
If felt like it took forever, but he finally made it to the club. He took no time waiting and ran into the place to start looking around for Nam Gyu. He looked at the more secluded places since when Nam Gyu called the music wasn't too loud. Anytime a place was empty or filled with people who weren't his friend he couldn't help but worry that someone might've left with him. He asks some of the staff if they've seen him, but nobody gives a decent answer. Where the hell could he be? This was starting to get frustrating for him. He looked everywhere in the club still not being able to find his friend. He decided to step outside because all of the noise and stress was giving him a headache. Once he gets outside he sees a guy sitting out in the front with his head on his knees. He looked sort of familiar. IT WAS NAM GYU! Thanos sighed in relief. Fucking finally why did it take him so damn long.
Thanos walks over to the person sitting on the sidewalk and crouches next to him.
"Let's take you home"
He says putting Nam Gyus arm around his neck and lifting him up. He walks further away from the club trying to get to an area where people wouldn't be walking frequently. Thanos takes out his phone so he can get an Uber to Nam Gyus place.
The Uber gets there pretty quickly, and Thanos pulls Nam Gyu into the car making sure not to hit his head on anything. He was sort of like a rag doll right now. Nam gyu was still conscious he mumbled a small "Thanks" to Thanos while they were in the car. Nam Gyu leaned on Thanos falling asleep only after like five minutes of being in the Uber. He reeked of alcohol. Clearly he drank way too much. Why was he drinking that much at his job anyways? Though Thanos couldn't judge because Nam Gyu has helped him when in this state more times than be can count.
Soon they reach Nam Gyus house. He only lived like 20 minutes away from Club Pentagon. Thanos nudges Nam Gyu to wake him up. Nam gyu opens his eyes half way and gets out of the car behind Thanos.
Thanos helps Nam Gyu walk since he's too drunk to keep himself from falling over. He searches through Nam Gyus pockets trying to find his keys. Once he finds the keys he opens up the door to Nam Gyus apartment, and brings him to his room. Thanos sighs finally feeling relaxed after having to do all this. Why does Nam Gyu deal with his shit so often if it was this tiring. At least now Thanos knows how much of a real friend Nam Gyu is.
Thanos leaves Nam Gyus aprtment after he's able to make sure Nam Gyu is good. He gets an Uber home, and just stares off into space the whole way back to his own apartment. He gets home and sits down at the table he has. He didn't even realize how hungry he was due to being so nervous up until then. He goes into his kitchen and decides hell just make something simple. He didn't have the energy to make something more complicated. He ends up making a sandwich since it's quick and easy. He couldn't wait to get to sleep. He slept so much today but his body still felt drained and beat up. He ate his food in silence, and cleaned up once he was done. He makes his way to his room and takes off his clothes changing into a new pair of boxers and sweatpants that he can sleep in. He walks into his bathroom quickly brushing his teeth before going right back into his room and getting into bed. He sets an alarm for 7am so he wouldn't sleep in too late. If he slept too much he would feel like crap instead of how sleep is supposed to make you feel. He also didn't want to wake up too late so he could get more done. Before he turns off his phone he messages Nam Gyu a message he can wake up to. "You're lucky the great Thanos took you home" He always made overly confident remarks like that it kind of went with the image he made for himself in his community. Nam Gyu was kind of lucky because Thanos wouldnt do that for most people, but Nam Gyu has done the same for him. It really only fair that he helped his friend out a bit.
