Work Text:
Dio was a distraction.
At least, that was what Kars told himself.
Laying with a creature that he would otherwise consider nothing more than a disposable lackey or a meal was certainly not a symptom of being at the highest point in his life.
The Pillar Man’s self-imposed exile in the wilderness for years after the deaths of the only people he trusted had taken its toll. He could have anything in the world he wanted, but none of it could cure the emptiness he felt now, alone at the apex of all things.
The Ultimate Being was immune to every affliction, except the strange hollowness that filled him now.
How pathetically human.
Neither he nor Dio were entirely sure what had led to their ‘relationship,’ if it could be called such a thing.
The arrangement had started casually enough. It was only a matter of time until Kars sought to cure the sheer boredom that plagued him in his lonesome immortality, if only temporarily. After all, it was not every day that the stone mask produced anything noteworthy when used by a human. Most of the undead beasts were so short-lived, and carving out a large territory of wealth and influence was unheard of.
Dio was equally interested in gaining the adoration of a stronger being if it meant expanding his abilities in some way. He was also insatiably addicted to attention from anyone with an inch of power, and Kars was overflowing with it.
But there was a catch to becoming one of Dio’s favorite people.
Even now, as the ancient man met his lover’s hungry and expectant gaze from across the expanse of Dio’s bedroom, the dull pang in his chest was ignored in favor of deciding whether it would be worth his while to leave the comfortable position he’d taken up on one of the velvet settees. Dio referred to it as an “antique” from his time. More fit for a display piece than actual furniture, he often complained of the creakiness and lack of cushioning, but Kars found it far preferable to the cold stone of the pillar he’d awoken from.
Curls of smoke plumed from the incense placed strategically around the room. The thick, spiced aroma of the burning kyphi stopped short of overpowering Kars’ senses, instead leaving him deeply relaxed as he reclined further into the seat that barely accommodated his muscular frame.
But his desire to rest did not concern Dio, who looked on at his lover lounging about with impatience as he loudly tapped his clawed fingertips against the mahogany armrest of his loveseat, occasionally sipping from a golden chalice of blood.
Kars briefly met Dio’s gaze before turning to study the floor. The muscles of his shoulders were visibly tensed as he adjusted his posture.
“After all of the attention that you received today, I would think you to be less needy,” Kars grumbled. He tentatively referred to the various men and women that Dio had taken to bed throughout the evening.
It wasn’t like Dio cared to be subtle about it, nor could he be if he wanted. Dio was a mere fledgling, meaning he was still not yet accustomed to the heightened libido that came with his condition, nor the worship and adoration he was constantly showered with.
It was nothing short of exciting for him, holding control over his following to the point where they’d be willing to do anything for him. He hadn’t tasted a feeling quite so invigorating in nearly a century.
Shrill, reverent cries of both pain and ecstasy were commonly heard coming from Dio’s quarters, and it was difficult to tell which of his playthings had earned enough of his favor to be spared and which were to be used as food to be drained and discarded.
“Mere mortals could never leave me too sated for you, Kars.” Dio purred, pulling his lover from his thoughts.
Kars sighed, long and low, as he reluctantly removed himself from the soft cushions to turn his attention to his companion. Dio grinned at this, setting his drink on the table by his bed before sauntering over to greet his lover, the two embracing and taking the time to explore each other as if they had been separated for years. Sometimes it certainly felt that way.
As the days blurred together, Kars came to expect his lover’s prolonged absence nearly every evening, leading him to reside alone elsewhere in the shadowy manor.
He liked the garden most, where he could be kept company by the various decorative desert plants while he basked in the waning light and warmth of the setting Egyptian sun. He would wait for the Moon to take its place in the sky so that it might cover him in its light like the welcome embrace of an old friend. It was during times like this that he thought back to how much he missed his companions, with whom he was supposed to share the Earth and all its bounties. He often wondered what they would think of him and his chosen partner now if they were still alive.
Would they see him as weak? Desperate, perhaps?
Dio was not nearly as thoughtful a lover as Esidisi had been. He couldn’t regale Kars with tales or humor and could never console him in the way he needed. Unlike Wamuu, Dio didn’t have a loyal bone in his body, and he was anything but honorable.
Shortcomings aside, Kars certainly couldn’t deny that the blonde was just as physically striking, if not more so than even some of the most attractive of his kind. He thought just as much now as he tore Dio's leotard so that it exposed the skin of his broad, well-defined shoulders.
Within seconds, Dio’s jet-black top and chaps were discarded into a pile on the floor, leaving him completely bare. The moonlight shining through the windows gave him an unearthly glow, his perfect alabaster skin somehow looking even more ethereal and radiant than usual. Nights like this reminded Kars how enchanting the creature before him was. Dio was young. Powerful. Beautiful. His effortless charm was something to admire, as was his ability to break even the most confident people into subservience.
In all his years, Kars had never met such a specimen. Dio was, without a doubt, one of the most impressive creations to come from his handiwork.
And how it hurt, to know that he would never belong to him alone.
Together they fell onto Dio’s spacious bed. The canopy curtains were untethered from their posts, surrounding them and keeping them hidden from the rest of the world.
Kars traced the outer edge of the vampire’s pointed left ear, marveling at how it twitched slightly under his touch when his thumb grazed the three dark moles branding the skin there.
“So sensitive,” he murmured, almost too fondly.
His touches moved south to explore the hard muscles of a chiseled body, running over the light swell of pectorals and sculpted abdominal muscles before moving a hand behind to palm and squeeze Dio's firm ass.
Dio's breath hitched when Kars mouthed a love bite against the scar on his neck. The larger male trailed several more down from the crook of his neck to his chest, mesmerized by how the skin blossomed with violet bruises briefly before the flesh returned to its porcelain hue.
A tongue, warm and wet, darted out to tease a pale pink nipple, eliciting a soft gasp from the blonde.
They met once again with a kiss. Dio groaned, tangling his hand into Kars’ thick mane to pull the Pillar Man forward. They bit at and ravaged each other's lips, growing hungry as they tried to force the other to take both tongue and teeth.
A thin strand of saliva connected them as they broke apart, and Dio re-positioned himself to sit up on his forearms so that his head was held higher than his lover’s.
“Go on then, Kars.”
“Lie back for me and serve your Dio like I know you desire to," the vampire beckoned him forward with a curl of his clawed fingertip, speaking with the imperious tone of a being who required worship.
The Pillar Man snorted, shooting Dio a glare.
“You are bold,” Kars spat, “Ordering your better around like I am one of your servants.”
Dio snickered, bringing a manicured hand to rest underneath the Pillar Man's chin in an attempt to soothe him with faux tenderness.
“Ah, don't be like that now, Kars. Am I not giving you what you wanted?” His tone feigned confusion as he cocked his head to the side, drinking in his lover’s agitated countenance.
“You seemed so dreadfully lonely in here all by yourself. I know I’ve neglected you, darling. You've been starving for me, I could tell by the look in your eye. So why not allow me to indulge you?”
“Watch your tongue," Kars hissed, grabbing Dio's wrist and pushing it away. “You do not deserve that, not when you dare to ask me for my affection after giving yours so thoughtlessly to so many others.”
“Oh?” Dio shot him a quizzical look. “Should I be treating you with some sort of… I don’t know, reverence, perhaps?” His hand made a circular motion in the air as he pretended to search for the right word.
“Should you be the only thing of importance to me, now and forever?”
He scoffed. “You should be honored to be in the presence of a greater being, the one who is destined to redesign the world with his vision. You are fortunate that I have decided to let you witness its creation. Under other circumstances, there would be no place for you in it.”
The Pillar Man pulled away abruptly, a deep growl rumbling in his throat.
“A ‘greater being’? I am above you in ways that your feeble, little mind cannot even begin to comprehend, vampire.” A renewed ire lilted Kars’ voice as he spoke.
“Then surely you understand that I, Dio, am no ordinary man,” Dio snapped, crouching on the bed as he sized the other up.
It occurred to the vampire that he could get Kars into a more compromising position, and, if everything went accordingly, he could implant a flesh bud into his skull. Then he would bring the Pillar Man to his knees... Of course, Kars had absorbed and destroyed all of his previous attempts, but it couldn't hurt to try again, could it?
Fangs flashed as the two lunged at each other. Dio bit into Kars’ neck, digging his canines in as deep as they would go. A frustrated growl left him when he received nothing, as if he had pierced a dry artery.
Kars took advantage of this lapse in focus to throw the burly form of Dio off of him, pinning him to the bed by his neck with one large hand. The blade that was usually concealed within his forearm was fully unsheathed now.
“That ego of yours is leading you into very dangerous territory,” he warned. “You seem to have forgotten that all of your power, your loyal followers, your eternal life—is because of me,” he snarled, accentuating his statement with the digging of nails into the scar around Dio’s neck as if he meant to tear it open.
“You would do well to learn where your place is.”
The lines around the older male’s eyes were fully accentuated now as he glared scarlet daggers at the insufferable thing beneath him.
Dio swallowed thickly, struggling to maintain his composure under the vice-like grip that threatened to crush his windpipe.
But any expectation of his submission was dashed as the bloodsucker’s amber gaze met that of the man above him, the devious glint just as easily returning to his eyes. The vampire's lips were quirked in a mirth-filled, toothy grin.
“Then perhaps, you should show me exactly where 'my place' is.”
A stillness fell over the room. Kars settled back on his haunches, retracting his blade so that it was hidden within his ulna again. He watched Dio with the curiosity of a rattlesnake tracking a rodent in its den, while the other looked on at him with a similar interest.
Before Dio could register what had happened, he’d been yanked forward and off the bed. His head was shoved to the side to give the Pillar Man better access to his neck.
Without preamble, Kars sank his longer and sharper canines into Dio’s throat like a hot knife through butter, relishing in the vampire’s pained shriek that rang through the room. Greedily, he drank, keeping Dio pressed to his broad chest so that he couldn’t squirm out of his hold.
When he’d had his fill, he withdrew from Dio’s neck and pulled him into a heated kiss, forcing the blonde to taste the saccharine blood that dripped messily down Kars’ chin and onto the tousled and torn sheets below.
Dio fell backward, collapsing into a heap beneath the Pillar Man. His chest rose and fell in hurried peaks with each harsh breath he drew. The incense still wafting through the air felt intent on smothering him now, and the room seemed to spin in a blurry dance of shapes.
Blood was splattered across his body, soaking the bed around him, dripping off of the darker form of Kars poised over him in a horrid display of predatory savagery.
The vampire wondered if this was what it must be like for his meals in their final moments, disoriented and stumbling, horrified by the sheer sight of the carnage, yet unable to do anything to save themselves from their fate.
A sick, twisted pleasure curled deep in his gut at the thought, and he was sure that if his organs were still functioning as though he were human again, he'd feel the need to vomit.
He had little time to contend with how light-headed he felt as he realized his hips were being pulled backward, slowly, but with purpose.
“Agh-!”
Thick fingers threaded through Dio's golden locks, forcing him face-first onto the bed while his ass was lifted. He hissed in pain as Kars pressed a hand over the weeping bite on his neck, prodding a thumb against the wound to tease him for good measure.
When the Pillar Man had thoroughly coated his palm in crimson, he turned his attention to his hardness, pulling the weight of an inhumanly large cock out of his loincloth to smear the same blood over it until he’d covered every inch.
The vampire couldn’t restrain the yelp that left his throat when Kars’ thighs met the back of his own with one sharp thrust. He didn’t deserve to be tenderly prepared this time, not after his display of insolence.
“Hah-! Is that all you’ve got?” Dio attempted a deriding laugh at the Pillar Man’s efforts, but it came out more shaky and breathless than he had anticipated.
“I, Dio, could force you into submission anytime that I please– You only have the upper hand now because I will it so–rrgghh–”
A sharp grunt was torn from his throat as the large cock inside of him was mercilessly ground into him over and over.
Kars pulled out halfway only to slam his full length back in again, leaving Dio to writhe on the bed and clutch fistfuls of the stained sheets.
“You were saying?”
Kars leaned forward so that his face was by Dio’s ear, adjusting his grip to curl even tighter around his throat while his free hand clung to the vampire’s hip, pressing into his abdomen hard enough to leave a bloody bruise.
“It seems your body knows which one of us is the superior being, even if your primitive brain hasn’t caught up yet.”
“H-how dare you, you vagrant!” Dio roared, attempting to wrestle out of Kars’ hold, eager to show the so-called 'Ultimate Being' who he belonged to and teach him a lesson he’d never forget, but he was quickly quelled by another harsh thrust that nearly knocked the wind out of him.
He bit back a moan, unwilling to let Kars know just how good he was making him feel. There was a renewed vigor to the way the Pillar Man rutted, far more bestial than the way he usually was while intimate. There was no place for that softness now as he took the younger male wildly, eager to fuck the most shameful sounds out of him so that everyone in the most remote corridors of the mansion could hear their master for the wanton creature he had become. So easily betrayed by his own desires, just like the simple-minded humans he fed upon.
Dio loathed to admit it, but there was something thrilling about being handled so roughly, about being mated in this way like an animal. Maybe it was the delirium he felt from the blood loss that had possessed him to think such things, he wasn’t sure. Maybe he didn’t care to know why.
He found himself nearly blacking out before being unkindly yanked back into the waking world by the brutal hip snaps of the vile, contemptuous, and utterly gorgeous fiend of a man ravaging him. It was unfair that the most emphatic wails and moans were being masterfully ripped from him now, while the only sign that Kars was even enjoying himself was the occasional deep groan.
Kars released his grip from Dio’s throat to instead firmly press against the flat planes of the vampire’s back. He pushed the top half of the man's body down further into the bed, not once faltering in his rough movements as he did so.
Dio growled in irritation, but otherwise did nothing to challenge Kars placing him in a slightly more degrading position, earning him a pleased rumble from the Pillar Man.
Dio’s eyes were shut tight, his thick, dark brows knit together in concentration. His hands pulled desperately at the silk sheets beneath them, shredding them to bits in the process. Any concern for maintaining his earlier air of dominance seemed to be pushed from his mind completely by the man currently rearranging his insides to his liking.
Kars seemed to notice, too, sneaking a hand between the blonde’s legs to tend to his neglected dick, giving it a light squeeze and swiping his thumb over the sensitive pink glans to play with the drools of pre that had formed there.
The vampire squirmed, letting out a pitiful whimper as Kars toyed with his length. He seemed to mumble something, his words muffled as he pressed his face into the skin of his sinewy bicep.
"What was that, pet?" Kars asked, feigning ignorance as he suddenly stalled his touches and opted to grip him at the base of his girth instead.
“Please…” Dio breathed.
Kars chuckled lowly, obliging him with a few leisurely hand pumps up and down the thick length. He held the appendage with a death grip, jerking him just as roughly as he fucked.
It didn’t take long before Dio was climaxing. He grunted loudly as his warm, sticky release spilled from his length and onto the bed to mingle with the blood staining the sheets.
Kars grappled Dio’s hips as he ground himself roughly against the curve of Dio’s ass. He cursed under his breath as he came, filling the younger man up with liquid warmth and keeping him flush against his hips as he finished, ensuring that not a drop of his seed would go to waste prematurely.
Dio’s heavy limbs slumped by his side as he lay prone, attempting to catch his breath. He opened one eye to gander at the larger man who was currently removing himself. Incredibly, the Pillar Man was still rock-hard. He was too weak to think about it for very long before he’d been flipped onto his back. There seemed to be a change in the atmosphere as Kars' movements grew gentler, mirroring the way the night had begun.
Kars took hold of the back of the vampire’s knees, pushing his muscled thighs to his chest. The Pillar Man moved onto all fours like a lion stalking prey, his long, wavy mane falling around both of them in cascades like an indigo curtain.
He uttered a low moan as he re-entered Dio’s tight hole, fully intent on chasing his own orgasm now as he kept up his previous pace.
“K-kars…” The blonde whimpered, quivering, but the plea died in his throat.
The sensation of being railed so soon again by the god-like being above him was almost too much. He arched his back, not sure if he wanted relief from the mix of pain and pleasure racking his body and curling tighter and tighter in his guts, or if he wanted to bathe in it for an eternity.
Kars answered him with a kiss on the forehead, much softer and sweeter than the way he was currently ravaging him.
“Bear with it, just for a little while longer. I think you can take more, yes?”
Dio swallowed, nodding feebly as his bleary eyes met Kars’ own, shuddering at the ravenous look present in his lover’s gaze.
Kars hummed, leaning down to taste the tears rolling down Dio's face.
They were sweet.
Kars thought nothing else could endear the vampire more to him before he caught sight of the fruits of his labor. Dio's messy blonde hair was stuck to his face, wet with sweat and tears, and his pretty mouth was slightly parted while he moaned and sang Kars’ praises. It was nearly enough to send the Pillar Man over the edge.
How fortunate that the delectable display beneath him could easily become a common sight in the coming years.
How beautiful that he could share eternity with such an enrapturing being.
Yet his heart felt heavy knowing that after tonight, everything would go back to the way it was. Dio was not his to own and keep, but his relationships with mortals and even other vampires would be fleeting, even if the man beneath him could not understand this now, too young, too naive, and too ignorant of the gravity of eternity. Civilizations would rise and crumble to dust, Nature would reclaim what it lost from humanity, and whether he liked it or not, Dio would still be there to witness it all with him. The only constant in immortality.
He sighed, taking a hand to stroke over the side of Dio’s face gently.
“Damn it,” he groaned, “How is it that I’m so captivated by you?”
What was it about the man beneath him that had gotten him to this point, to become so shamelessly addicted?
“And you… You love that you have this effect on me, don’t you? Don’t you, you wretched creature?”
Kars tried to steady himself as he began to lose his composure, and his breathing became more uneven with each stroke. The growls of pleasure that left him seemed to be more akin to an animal than a man.
He leaned down to bite hard into Dio’s shoulder, groaning as he took more of the vampire’s succulent blood. Somehow, it tasted so much sweeter tonight than it ever had before, and he couldn’t get enough of it.
Dio’s eyes rolled back into his head as he panted vigorously. He knew he wouldn’t last much longer, not when he’d been overstimulated to the point of trembling and drained of much of his blood.
Eventually, he came with a loud cry of Kars’ name as he painted his torso white with his spend, shuddering violently under the waves of his orgasm wracking his body. All he could do was attempt to catch his breath as he lay there, hanging on for dear life.
Kars followed soon after. His hips began to lose their rhythm until they eventually stuttered and stilled against Dio as he reached his peak.
He removed his fangs from Dio’s now-bloodied shoulder and let slip a deep, throaty moan as he found his release, filling the blonde up with more of his pearlescent cum that spilled past the seal of his cock to dribble down Dio's buttocks.
Thoroughly bitten, bled, fucked, and spent, Dio felt like he was teetering on the edge of consciousness again. He didn’t have the will or strength to protest when Kars pulled him into an embrace and ran his fingers through his damp hair like he was soothing a beloved pet.
“Filthy incubus. How dare you cause me to lose myself like that?”
Dio chortled raggedly, reaching up to nip lightly at Kars’ jawline.
“And didn't you love every second of it.” Dio responded in kind.
He gingerly brought a hand to the wounds on his neck and shoulder. Frantically, he scrambled out of Kars’ hold for the hand mirror at his bedside, making a noise of irritation when he saw how extensive and deep the tears and puncture marks in his skin were, much to the amusement of Kars.
The Pillar Man extended out an arm to him, offering his wrist.
“Drink.”
And Dio did, eagerly piercing the thick vein there. He groaned at the taste of the ancient being’s blood on his tongue, sloppily suckling up as much as he could get before Kars pulled his arm away as quickly as he’d provided it.
If there was such a thing as ichor, this was the closest he would ever get to tasting it, Dio thought as he felt his wounds rapidly close over and heal until his skin was left with nothing but a dull itch.
Neither man had much need for sleep. But for now, at least for the remainder of the night, they would stay in each other’s company.
A light smile graced Dio’s lips as he lay peacefully in the arms of his larger lover, lulled into a light doze by his uncannily slow and deep heartbeat. For the time being, he was safe from the ills of the rest of the world and all its triviality. Safe from any harm that could befall him.
He would have to test Kars’ patience more often, he thought. Maybe it would take centuries, but eventually, he would have the ancient being eating out of the palm of his hand, whether Kars was aware of it or not.
