Miserere Mei, Deus

Summary:

In the recesses of his soul, a tumultuous struggle ensued, for he was cognizant of the impropriety and abomination of his desires. The venerable warrior, erstwhile paragon of virtue, found himself ensnared by an unholy ardor. His heart, an altar of devotion, now burned with profane passion, as he surrendered to the forbidden fruit of Zelda's lips. The princess, a vessel of purity, betrothed and soon to be wed, yet her mouth was upon his, a sacrilegious union that defied the sacred vows. And he, a humble supplicant, whispered fervent prayers into her ear, entreating the goddess to absolve his transgression, to indulge his frailty, and forgive his lapse. Oh, he knew he was a sinner.

"Mmf!"

He pressed her against the chill stone, its rugged texture gently fretting against her yielding back, leaving a trail of soft, pink scratches. His dexterous fingers danced with urgency, unthreading the lace with a fervor that echoed the wild racing of her heart, as if the very fabric of their fate hung in the balance. As his knee insinuated itself between her thighs, the final loop surrendered to his eager touch, and with a swift, sweeping motion, his right hand whisked the dress away. A fleeting glimpse of alabaster skin which beckoned a whispered promise, a tantalizing hint of secrets yet to be unveiled, like the first blush of dawn on a summer's morn. Though the dark corner obscured his view, his gaze strained to capture the subtle revelation, his eyes drinking in the faint, luminescent glow of her flesh, like a moonlit night, when the stars shone bright with promise and mystery.

"Ah, Link...!"

The whispered invocation hung in the air like a touching supplication, a heartfelt plea to the heavens, as his fingers tightened around Zelda's slender waist, an insistent, fervent caress that bespoke a deep longing. A warning, a gentle admonition, lest their passion betray them.

“Shhh, my love, they'll hear you…” He breathed, his voice a soft, ardent whisper, a sweet zephyr that rustled the silence, his words dripping with benevolent urgency, like honeyed nectar.

With a silent understanding, she nodded, her eyes sparkling with merry mischief, like diamonds glinting in the luna's luminescent light, before her slender fingers, deft as a fairy's touch, began to coax his shirt free from his broad shoulders, as if unveiling a treasured sub rosa. He chuckled, grasping the unspoken invitation, a sly smile spreading across his face like a Casanova, and shed the garment with ease. The sword that had been slung over his back—the sword , once a proud emblem of his valor, now lay forsaken, its metallic voice ringing out in plaintive protest as it clattered to the floor with a resounding crash, shattering the stillness like a thunderclap on a winter’s eve. Yet, in the heat of their passion, the clangor fell on deaf ears, drowned out by the sweet surrender of their entwined hearts, which beat as one, like a lone drum in a victorious procession. It was as if the sword itself cried out in dismay, its steel soul shrieking in anguish, like a banshee's wail, trying to call them back to remind them of its importance, to recall them to duty and honor. But the pleas were lost amidst the sensation of their love, its metallic heartbeat silenced by the pulsing rhythm of their desire, like a river's gentle flow soothing a savage beast. His smile broadened at the effortless surrender of their defenses, the soft rustle of textile and steel giving way to the promise of tender skin and warm embrace—a rose unfolding its petals to greet the sun's golden kiss.

The dress too, a resplendent canvas of celestial blue, now lay crumpled and forlorn, its delicate folds, like the petals of a paltry flower, had surrendered to their ardent embrace, its vibrant hue, a radiant declaration of elegance, now faded into obscurity. Similarly, the tunic, with its azure brilliance , paled in comparison to the piercing verdure of her eyes, all other sights eclipsed by the transcendent glory of emeralds. The dress , the sword , the tunic —all symbols of duty, honor, and expectation—now lay discarded, their weight lifted, their significance eclipsed by the gravity of this licentious abandon. All of it, had once embodied the very essence of refinement: beauty, grace, status, class, taste, wealth, power, royalty, nobility, honor, virtue, bravery, their mission, their place, and in addition—the weighty mantle of tradition —a waste . The legacy of inherited obligation, bound them to the dictates of their forebears, a rigid framework of rules and regulations that governed their every step, simply because of the noble blood that coursed through their veins, a birthright of burden and responsibility. Born into a world of predetermined expectations, they were shackled to the traditions of their lineage, their lives a carefully choreographed caper of duty and decorum, their choices dictated by the ghosts of their ancestors, their paths predetermined by the iron grip of heritage.

Even his sword, a stalwart sentinel of steel, stood as a symbol to his destiny, for it bore the cursed mark of his fate, its metal heart engraved with the prophecy of his purpose, like a rune of unyielding resolve. Forged in the crucible of tradition , its iron core hammered into an unshakeable will, a permanent bond between him and the suffocating expectations of his lineage. 'Twas an extension of his very essence, awaiting his mastery, its power and glory demanding to be unleashed in the service of his duty, like a bird straining to be free. And the tunic, a somber pall of remembrance, bore the weight of his fallen brethren, the specters of champions past, their memories a mournful dirge, a haunting reminder of the sacrifices made and the burdens yet to be borne, a constant whisper of the ghosts of yore.

Oh, their attire had always been a visible manifestation of the divine decrees that had shaped their lives, for they reflected the sacred titles bestowed upon them by the Goddess herself, like a consecrated benediction. Every thread, every fold, every hue, seemed to proclaim the weight of their noble designations, as if the very cloth of their existence had been embroidered from the essence of their destiny. Oh, tradition , the inexorable thread that bound their souls, had long been interlaced into the very tapestry of their being, a Gordian knot that strangled the course of their lives with an unyielding hand. Every moment, every decision, every breath, was predetermined, as if the celestial loom of fate had already woven the fabric of their providence, thread by thread, long before they drew their first mortal breath. But in that instant, as the symbols of their predetermined path lay discarded on the floor, like a shattered icon, they dared to imagine a different narrative, one where the future was theirs to inscribe, a blank parchment waiting for the quill of their free will.

It’s okay to grieve the child you could’ve been.

Verily, exhaustion had etched its ghastly visage upon his countenance, yet he could scarce begin to comprehend the profound depths of her own lassitude. For years, he had trodden this narrow path, but she had traversed the weight of centuries , her footsteps echoing through the corridors of time like a mournful dirge. Thousands of years of expectation, duty, and tradition had ravaged her, each loose thread a poignant reminder of the crushing burden she bore. The legends whispered a dismal truth: their tale of woe would haunt the ages, a never-ending threnody of sorrow and despair, an eternal lamentation that would reverberate throughout the annals of eternity. And so, they stood entrapped in this endless cycle, doomed to repeat the mistakes of their forebears, their love and courage mere flickering candle flames of hope in an abyss of darkness, a desolate expanse that would swallow all in its path. For in a world bound by the inexorable chains of fate, what was the point of resistance? The Princess and Hero, mere pawns in a game they could never win, their hearts heavy with the knowledge that their struggles would be reduced to naught but a forgotten whisper in the winds of time, a fleeting sigh lost in the void. They'd forever be reduced to serving this world, their existence a mere servitude to the whims of destiny.

But in this ephemeral instant, the weight of it all dissolved like honey in lemonade, its sweetness mingling with the tartness of their liberation. The crushing expectation, the ancient prophecies, the very foundation of their reality—all lay discarded, like tattered remnants on the floor, cast aside like so much rubbish. And he, lost in the luminous depths of her eyes, couldn't summon the will to care, his heart ensnared by the warmth of their entwined bodies. Like this, all that had once seemed so vital, so paramount, was now trivial, inconsequential , a fleeting whisper in the winds of time. In this moment, they were free, unshackled from the chains of destiny, their love a beacon of hope in a world bound by the shackles of fate.

"Link," she whispers, her voice a gentle barely audible over the thunderous pounding of their hearts. He tightens his embrace, his fingers tracing the curves of her body with the skilled touch of a master artisan, as she scratches his back with a ferocity that leaves crimson streaks on his skin, leaving a map of red, raised lines, like the fierce strokes of a painter's brush on canvas. Her gaze rises to meet his, those piercing green eyes sparkling like the evening sky over the Zora's domain, soft as the first blades of grass in spring, and radiant as polished emeralds glowing with an inner light. In their depths, he sees a love that defies the boundaries of tradition and fate, a love that burns with a fierce and wild abandon, like a wildfire sweeping across the landscape of their souls. A love that burns brighter with every passing moment, a flame that flickers with an otherworldly intensity, illuminating the very essence of their being. Oh, her eyes, silent supplicants pleading for this love that dare not speak its name, their gaze an entreaty that implores him to surrender to the depths of their passion. His own eyes, a radiant blue, shimmer like the vast expanse of the celestial ocean, inviting her to drown in their crystalline depths, where the secrets of the universe await. They evoke memories of crystal streams, where water flows pure and true, like the gentle lapping of waves upon a moonlit shore, and the endless skies, where she once soared. Link's heart understands her unspoken longing, and with a gentle strength, born of a love that knows no bounds, he lifts her up, cradling her as she wraps her arms and legs around him, their bodies embracing like the shoots of a vine entwining the ancient stones of a forgotten temple. Their lips meet once more, a kiss that defies the sacred laws, a union of skin against skin, soul against soul, as they surrender to the forbidden love that burns within, a love that consumes them with a fierce and all-encompassing passion.

They savor the pilfered moment, a fleeting respite from the prying eyes and wagging tongues of the castle's denizens. Silence is their confederate, for in its stillness, they discover a semblance of liberty. The castle, with all its secrets and scrutiny, appears to recede, its presence held at bay by the locked door, its mechanism yielding a soft, reassuring click as Link turns the dial, a tiny affirmation of their solitude. The sound echoes through the chamber, a minute confirmation of their privacy, as they lean against the barrier, their bodies pressed together in an embrace. He's consumed by desire, his passion a raging tempest, and so he lays her upon the bed, his fingers intertwining with hers, as he holds her legs together and grasps the silk of her garments to pull them down, down, down , with a gentle yet insistent urgency. Her soft whimpers of impatience fill the air, like the sweet trilling of a nightingale, but he calms her with a small kiss, his lips whispering promises of pleasure, his breath a sweet gust that soothes her ardor.

With deft fingers, he loosens the leather strap, the buckles' soft clink a sweet harbinger of the delights to come. Her legs encircle his hips, urging him closer with an intimate embrace. He yields to her silent entreaty, his body inclining towards hers with a gentle reverence, their forms merging like the soft lapping of waves upon a moonlit shore, where the tide of passion ebbs and flows. He presses into her, and she tugs on his hair, a gentle yet insistent pull, as he grazes her skin with affectionate nips, his lips whispering sweet endearments. They both sigh in relief, the tension of days, of longing and denial, evaporating like morning dew before the warmth of the afternoon. 'Tis a soft synchrony of sighs as he rocks into her sweetly, their bodies moving in a humane harmony. He brushes his lips against hers, a loving kiss that speaks of pent-up desire, a passion that has long been contained, now set free to flourish like a garden in bloom.

Link moves with deliberate slowness, the silky moisture of her innermost sanctum dripping down her legs like mellisonant syrup, as the delectable drag elicits an exquisite moan from her lips. 'Tis a simple, yet intimate act, and he pretends they are a long-wedded couple, comfortable in their love, their bodies entwined in a humble cottage nestled in a quiet village. He studiously avoids the gaudy ring on her hand, a symbol of a promise he did not make, a reminder of the liaison they share in secret. That ostentatious, crimson abomination could never have come from him, for he would never sully her delicate finger with something so tasteless, so crass. Nay, he would choose something ethereal, a masterpiece of green and gold, with delicate filigree that danced across her skin like a spring breeze. Something that whispered elegance, not screamed opulence. This... thing , was a mockery, a cruel jest that insulted her beautiful fingers, a travesty that offended his very soul.

In his frustration, he intensifies their embrace, his movements becoming more ardent, more imperious. She meets his passion with her own, her lips parting to receive his, but his fervor turns ferocious, his teeth scraping her lip with bonny brutality, drawing forth a crimson droplet. She winces, her fingers tightening in his hair like a snare, a soft rebuke, though he savors the metallic tang. He hisses a curse, a soft, self-directed imprecation, as he wrestles to reconcile these tumultuous sensations with the reins of self-control, his passion threatening to unseat his reason.

Zelda knows, and she attempts to calm him, her words a gentle brook, "D-do— oh —you desire me to... ah ...remove it?" But he's beyond words, his actions harsh. He strips the ring from her finger, his movements swift and decisive, as if the symbol of her commitment to another is an affront to their star-crossed love. The ring falls to the floor, discarded like a falsehood, its metallic clang a stark contrast to the softness of their bodies, like a harsh bell tolling in a serene glade. He presses his lips to her hand, as if to soothe the skin he's freed from the ring's constraint, his kiss a benediction. His body relaxes, melting into hers like wax in the flame, as he surrenders to the sense of destiny that envelops them, a cosmic confluence that defies the boundaries of duty and loyalty, a union ordained by the heavens themselves. Yet, she withholds the one thing he truly desires— her heart —offering instead this fleeting solace, a temporary balm for his ardor. He'll accept it, though, for he'd take whatever crumbs she offers. He’s a beggar .

He prompts her, a master director guiding his would be theater star, "S-say it." A simple phrase, yet a vast universe of emotion hangs in the balance, like a delicate scale poised to tip. He knows the truth, but in this ephemeral moment, he can pretend, convince himself that the words are mere lines from a script, not the very beat of her heart, not the essence of her soul.

"I love you,"

She whispers, and the words hang in the air like a sacred confession, a tender surrender. The truth echoes through him, a bittersweet harmony of joy and despair, a haunting melody that resonates deep within his breast, for in this moment, he knows he's not just a lover, but a thief, stealing moments, stealing hearts, stealing love that doesn't belong to him, a pilferer of passion, a burglar of bliss.

The words eviscerate him, a serrated blade twisting in his chest like a tormentor's cruel delight. She loves him , yet it's a poisoned chalice, a beauty forever tainted by the grotesqueness of her betrothal to another, a union that profanes the very center of their love. He cannot deny this unyielding truth, she loves him , yet is promised to another, a constant reminder of his own ironic powerlessness. 'Tis a fragile dance, by asking her to speak the words, he's merely prolonging the agony, taunting himself with a fantasy that will never be his to claim, cherry-picking the threads that suit his heart, weaving a tapestry of deceit. In this fleeting moment, he can pretend she's his alone, their love unbound by duty or loyalty, a shimmering mirage on the horizon of his desire. Or he can convince himself that this sexual union is all they share, and all that matters, that the love she professes is naught but a chimera—a fleeting dream that vanishes at dawn's light. The truth is a bloodied wound, a barbed wire of his helplessness, a gnawing ache that refuses to be salved. He's a moth consumed by the flame of his own need, forever doomed to orbit the love they share, yet never truly possess it, a celestial body bound to the gravitational pull of his own longing.

Thus, he immerses himself in her, a desperate endeavor to claim every inch of her, to brand his presence into her very essence. He thrusts with a ferocity that leaves her gasping, her voice whispering incantations of his name, a litany of longing. Her nails scour across his back, a primal scream etched upon her countenance. The knowledge that soon , another shall claim this same intimacy, that her body shall be surrendered to a stranger, is a torment that threatens to consume him whole, a gnawing anguish that devours his soul. He is the sole one who hath ever known her thus, and she, him. 'Tis a bonded touch that should remain unbroken. The thought of her surrendering to another, of her body being desecrated by a stranger's touch, is an agony that drives him deeper, harder, as if he can somehow imprint his very essence upon her soul, a lasting testament to their love.

Her womb, once a sacred sanctuary for his seed alone, shall soon lie vulnerable to another's invasive touch, a betrayal that scorches his mind like a branding iron. She shall eventually conceive another man's offspring, another jeer of his own obsolescence, a purpled bruise that refuses to be salved. The thought echoes in his mind, a discordant refrain of despair: another man, another man, another man, a cacophony of anguish that threatens to consume him whole. He should be the one to sire her firstborn, to plant his seed within her fertile soil. His body trembles with rage and hurt, his groans a primal protest against the fate that's being forced upon him, a cruel destiny that seeks to erase him from her life. She gasps, a symphony of pleasure and pain, as he claims her with a ferocity that's both a plea and a lambaste, a desperate attempt to sear his presence into her very being. He's insatiable, driven by a hunger that's equal parts love and desperation, a ravenous longing to cheat the inevitability of his own erasure, to leave an indelible mark upon her soul.

He kisses her once more with a desperation that skirteth cruelty, his lips bruising hers with a severity that's both an anguished scream and a mournful lament. His emotions are a storm-tossed sea of ire, hurt, and ardor, a noxious draught that threateneth to engulf him whole. The pain of loving her is a palpable torment, a weight that presseth upon his chest, making it hard to draw breath. And yet, he cannot help but crave more, even as he knoweth that every moment they share is an impermanent illusion, a brief respite from the crushing reality that she shall never truly be his to claim. His heart is a battleground, torn asunder by the warring factions of his soul, each moment with her a bittersweet reminder of the transience of their love.

Zelda's body begins to tremble beneath him, her form shuddering with sobs, as she finally surrenders to the torrent of her emotions. Gushing forth like a fountain, she moans and convulses, her cries echoing through the air as he swallowed every sound, his lips drinking in her anguish. He feels his own ecstasy looming, a tidal wave of passion and desire. But he knows himself too well, aware that he teetereth precariously on the edge of control, and so he pulls away, a sudden, jarring movement that leaves them both gasping in surprise. With a swift, brutal efficiency, he attended to his own needs, a desperate bid to regain mastery over his own body, to prevent himself from surrendering to the all-consuming passion that threateneth to overwhelm them both. She watched, perplexed and surprised, her eyes wide with a mix of confusion and hurt, for he had never done this, his actions a departure from the lover she knew.

He shudders, a final, convulsive tremor, as his hand finally wrests from himself a meager release onto her stomach, the warmth and intimacy of the act feeling strangely disconnected from the maelstrom of emotions brewing inside him. She lies silent, her eyes fixed upon his expression, as he sat back on the bed, his hand raking through his hair in a gesture of frustration and despair, his fingers tangling in the locks like a man grasping for a lifeline. His jaw is clenched, and his voice is barely audible, a whispered apology that falters on his lips, the words feeling hollow and insincere, even to his own ears, a mere mockery of contrition. She can sense the tension emanating from him, a palpable aura of stress and anxiety that hangs in the air like a gauntlet thrown, daring her to confront the emotions that he struggles to contain, a challenge that hangs between them like an unspoken accusation.

“Link...?” The query hangs in the air, a tentative and concerned supplication, a gentle probing of the tumultuous waters that seem to swirl about him. “What?” His response is curt, harsher than he intended, the file in his voice a telltale sign of the maelstrom still raging within him.

“Art you well...?” She ventures again, her tone soft and gentle as a summer breeze, a palpable attempt to reach out and bridge the chasm that seems to yawn between them, a tender effort to heal the rift that hath opened wide. “I am well.” His reply is brusque, a reflexive bulwark against the vulnerability he struggles to conceal, a defensive parapet erected to safeguard the turmoil that threatens to engulf him whole.

“Okay…” The silence stretcheth out like a vast and yawning chasm, a heavy, oppressive pall that suffocates the very air from their lungs, leaving naught but a desolate and barren landscape. Finally, he spoke, his voice a mere whisper, a dying breath that escaped his lips.

“We shouldst not do this anymore.”

Her response, a hesitant assent, a resigned sigh that pretended to seal their fate, hung in the air like a death knell, a mournful dirge that tolled the end of their star-crossed and ill-fated entwining. “Verily...I had intended to speak with you about this…” The words hung suspended, a fatal pronouncement.

“‘Tis done, then.” His tone was curt, a desperate attempt to mask the anguish that clawed at his heart like a ravenous beast, a futile endeavor to conceal the depth of his sorrow.

“Is this, then, our final farewell?” Her voice trembled, a barely contained supplication, a plaintive entreaty for reassurance, for a glimmer of hope in the encroaching darkness. He knew full well what she asked, and with a heart as heavy as lead, a soul morose and bereft, he replied with a lie, a hollow "Aye." that even his own heart did not credit. Thus, their dream was extinguished, a candle snuffed out by the cruel and capricious hand of fate, leaving naught but a desolate and endless night.

_____

He fled, seeking refuge in a fortnight's solitude, a desperate endeavor to escape the shrill alarm of his own longing, which threatened to drown him deaf. He could not bear the thought of beholding her, of succumbing to the comely torture of her presence, so soon . His heart, a maelstrom of emotions, threatened to capsize at the mere contemplation of her, a shipwreck cause of her blonde beauty. He retreated to his domicile, a sanctuary that now felt like a sepulcher, haunted by the specters of their memories when she once dwelled within its walls. Her lingering essence, a bittersweet reminder of what he had lost, clung to every surface like a mournful mist, a haunting presence that refused to dissipate. Her belongings, the treasures she had left behind, lay scattered like landmines, waiting to detonate a fresh wave of grief. He considered consigning them to the flames, a purging ritual to exorcize the pain, but his heart, a traitor to his resolve, refused to let him surrender to such finality. Instead, he made a vow, a promise to return them, a tangible connection to the love they had shared, a poignant reminder of what could never be again. He would not sever the string, but rather give her both ends, a symbol of their love, now a frayed and fragile thread.

Yet, amidst the unmitigated anguish of their separation, he clung to the tender tokens of their tempestuous love with a ferocity that belied the despair. The love letter, a passionate and effusive declaration of her heart, remained his most treasured and sacred possession, a poignant reminder of the ardent emotions they had shared in a bygone era. Alongside it, he kept the missive that had shattered his most cherished dreams, the cruel and unvarnished truth that their love was doomed from its inception, a heart-wrenching symbol of the unbridgeable chasm that yawned between them like an abyss. And, most sweet of all, the inaugural letter she had ever penned to him, an innocent and hopeful epistle that had sparked the flame of their ill-fated love affair, a conflagration that had illuminated the darkness, only to be drowned by the cruel hand of fate. These three letters, a triumvirate of joy and sorrow, he cherished and enshrined, a bittersweet reminder of the transcendent love they had shared, and the devastating loss that had followed in its wake. He kept them, and hid them away in his drawer, a secret repository of his heart's deepest lows and most ardent longings.

And then, one of those desolate and forsaken nights, he could no longer endure the anguish that beset him, and sought solace in the numbing embrace of intoxicating liquor, a desperate bid to silence the cacophonous chorus of thoughts that tormented him with relentless ferocity. He drank alone, in the eerie and sepulchral quiet of his domicile, where every shadow and creaking floorboard seemed to whisper her name in a mournful sigh. The liquor burned his throat with a fiery passion, a promised oblivion to reduce his world to a haze of nothingness and forgetfulness. He welcomed the nausea, the retching, the bitter taste of his own despair, for it meant he was still feeling, still human , still vulnerable to the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune. And yet, he drank on, a reckless and self-destructive odyssey, fueled by the desperate hope that he might somehow, somehow, forget. Forget the laughter, the tears, the whispers, the memories that haunted every room, every corner, every breath with a ghostly presence. He craved numbness, an emotional anesthesia, a respite from the agony of his own heart, which refused to be still, refused to be silenced, and continued to beat with a mournful cadence, a reminder of all that he had lost.

"And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;"

The convulsive heaves, the bitter expulsion of his vitals, felt strangely liberating, a cathartic release of the noxious emotions that had been festering within him like a malignant canker. He welcomed the searing pain, the scorching bile, the racking sobs that shook his frame with a violence which began to shatter his very essence, for in that moment, it felt as though he was vomiting forth the very marrow of his heartache. Love, that insidious , corrosive force, had taken up residence within him, poisoning his every waking moment with a subtle, deadly venom, and now, he sought to expel it, to void it from his system like a noxious toxin. The alcohol, a harsh, unforgiving solvent, would be his purgative, his cleansing fire, burning away the diseased tissue of his emotions with a fierce, unyielding ferocity, leaving him scarred, but somehow, somehow, freed from the shackles of his own despair.

His address devolved into a sea of shattered glass, a cost to a four-day debauch, a Bacchanalian revelry that had consumed his every waking moment. Morning blurred into night, and night into morning, as he drowned himself in a haze of intoxication, a soporific veil that shrouded his senses and obscured the passage of time. The hours lost all meaning, and he couldn't recall the moments he spent in a drunken torpor, a state of suspended animation that left him vulnerable to the whims of his own madness. Yet, the evidence of his restless frenzy remained: weapons speared into the walls like a jeering painting, arrows forming a cryptic triangle that came off to mock him with its sinister perfect geometry. Cabinets lay ransacked, their contents scattered like confetti, a reflection of the chaos that reigned within his troubled mind. And still, he sought solace in the abyss, embracing the sweet oblivion of intoxication with a desperation that bordered on the suicidal. Each morning, he'd awaken to the bitter taste of regret, a metallic tang that lingered on his palate like a memento mori, only to quench it with more drink, and repeat the cycle, lost in a vicious dance of self-destruction.

Vomit-stained shirts lay scattered upon the floor, a grim and fetid repercussion to his utter surrender to the liquid that poured down his own mouth. The air was heavy with the disgusting reek of alcohol, a miasmic cloud that clung to every surface with a loathsome tenacity. The sheets, once crisp and clean, now reeked of his excesses, a pungent reminder of his debauched state. The floors, once polished with precision, now sticky with spills, seemed to cling to him with their very squalor. He thought of her, of how she would recoil in horror at the state of his home, of him, her eyes wide with a mixture of revulsion and sorrow. She’d always been a clean person. Her presence still lingered, a ghostly whisper in his mind, a haunting reminder of all he had lost, a bittersweet echo that refused to be silenced. He tried to push her away, to drown her memory in the bottom of a bottle, to forget of his longing with a deluge of drink. But she persisted, a haunting refrain that echoed through his mind, a siren's call that beckoned him deeper into the crevasse. 'Her.' The word was a trigger, a catalyst for another drink, another desperate attempt to silence the pain, to still the whispers of his own heart.

The fifth day of the second week's haze lifted, and with it, the crushing realization that his brief respite would soon be at an end. Reluctantly, he stirred, his cranium a throbbing, leaden burden, his mouth a desolate and arid wasteland, bereft of even the slightest hint of moisture. The bottle, his constant and faithful companion, still clutched in his hand. With a sense of dread that settled upon his heart like a shroud, he set off towards the castle, the bright sunlight an unwelcome and merciless assault on his frazzled nerves, the fresh air a sickening joke to his own stagnant existence. Each step felt like a forced march towards his own personal gallows, the weight of his responsibilities, his duties, his very life, waiting to crush him beneath its unforgiving yoke, a relentless and unyielding burden

He realized, on the return journey to the castle, that he had become crueller, his heart hardened by the unyielding torment that besets him. He fought with a barbarity that bordered on madness, his blade slicing through the Bokoblin with a deadly precision representative of the maelstrom brewing within his very soul. Yet, instead of delivering the swift, merciful coup de grâce that had ever been his hallmark, he found himself lingering , stabbing, slashing, and tearing at the monster's flesh with a cruel, almost intimate, ire. 'Twas as if he sought to exorcize the love that still lingered, the bloody wound, within his own heart, to purge the gross, vulnerable parts of himself, to excise the memories, the emotions, the very essence of her that still haunted him with a ghostly persistence. Each thrust, each cut, each brutal, savage motion, was a desperate attempt to carve out the soft, vulnerable recesses of his own heart, to eradicate the bittersweet reminders of their star-crossed love.

When he finally returned to the castle, he recoiled in revulsion at the vapidness of it all, the vacuous smiles, the obsequious bows, the effusive praise that now acted like a cacophony of hollow flattery. The very same people who had once trembled at his feet now fawned over him with a familiarity that felt like a slap in the face, a brazen affront to his dignity. He had saved the world, not once, but twice, and yet, the only reward was this insipid, suffocating ceremonial nonsense, a never-ending cycle of empty formalities designed to throttle the very life from his soul. The same stifling traditions, the same suffocating etiquette, that had ripped her from his arms, denying him the one thing he truly desired. A heartless reminder of all that he had sacrificed. The world's gratitude was a poor substitute for the love he had lost, a meager recompense for the shattered dreams and broken promises that lay in his wake. He had shattered the boundaries of duty and honor, and still, the chains of convention bound him, refusing to yield to the one thing that truly mattered—his heart, that most rebellious and unyielding of organs.

That wretched etiquette , a constant and chewing reminder of his lowly birth, a perpetual bulwark between him and the one he loved with a passion that rivaled the very gods. No matter that he had defied the grim specter of death itself, rising from the ashes like a phoenix reborn to save her, to save the world from the hell they feared—his humble origins remained an insurmountable obstacle, a barrier of stone and steel that refused to yield to his pleas. The very same people who sang his praises with sycophantic fervor, who hailed him as a hero of unyielding valor, still deemed him unworthy of her hand, a cruel fate that seemed as capricious as the whims of the gods themselves. The injustice seethed within him, a pitted bitter resentment, as he thought of all he had sacrificed, all he had achieved, only to be denied the one thing that truly mattered—her love, her heart, her hand in marriage. He had faced down death with unyielding courage, battled monsters with unshakeable resolve, and saved the world from the very brink of destruction—but still, he was not good enough . The gulf between him and her came across as unachievable as the stars themselves, a chasm carved by the very traditions that were supposed to bring people together in bonds of love and matrimony.

He was a prisoner of his own nativity, a fate decreed by the capricious whims of fortune, yet sanctified by the divine hand of the gods. The lamb of the goddess, chosen for greatness, destined to save the world—and yet, it seemed that even the gods themselves were powerless against the suffocating grip of tradition , that ironclad behemoth that refused to yield to the pleas of the chosen one. The irony was a bitter draught to swallow: he, the hero, the lamb, the instrument of the gods' will, was still bound by the same rules that governed the common rabble. His divine calling, his heroic deeds, all meant nothing in the face of societal expectations, those unyielding and unforgiving strictures that refused to see beyond the circumstances of his birth. The gods may have chosen him, but humanity refused to accept him, refused to see beyond the veil of his humble origins. He was a legend, a force of nature—but still, he was not good enough.

Even the gods themselves were not above the petty machinations of mortal men.

By the gods, he was a force of nature, a maelstrom of unbridled fury and unyielding power! His legend had shattered the celestial vault, his name seared into the very souls of mortals like a branding iron wielded by the gods themselves. And yet, the scurrying, sniveling rabble dared to deny him her hand? The sheer effrontery! The unmitigated gall! The unadulterated temerity! How dare they, those insignificant, squirming maggots, presume to judge him? He, who had wrestled the abyssal void to the ground and emerged victorious, his armor dented but unbroken? He, who had shattered the chains of mortality and achieved the impossible, his name etched into the annals of history like an attestation to his unyielding will? The thought ripped through him like a razor, a scorching contempt for the crawling, groveling horde that dared to deny him his due. Why should he, a god among mortals, deign to listen to the feeble buzzing of these insignificant insects? Why should he heed their petty judgments, their stifling traditions, their meaningless, vacuous conventions, those hollow, whispering winds that dared to assail his ears? The very idea was an abomination, a travesty, a sacrilege, a blasphemy against the gods themselves!

The God that holds you over the pit of hell, much as one holds a spider, or some loathsome insect, over the fire, abhors you, and is dreadfully provoked; his wrath towards you burns like fire; he looks upon you as worthy of nothing else, but to be cast into the fire; he is of purer eyes than to bear to have you in his sight; you are ten thousand times so abominable in his eyes as the most hateful venomous serpent is in ours.

Zelda, the resplendent, the unapproachable, the goddess incarnate among mortals. She shone like a celestial star, a luminous being far above his humble station, a radiant paragon of beauty and grace. And yet, she was to be shackled to that pompous, self-aggrandizing Duke, a man as vapid as he was vainglorious, a bloated, self-important fool whose very existence seemed jackshit of all that was good and noble. The thought seethed within him, a caustic resentment that burned like acid, a festering laceration that refused to heal. Why should she, a being of such ethereal beauty, be bound to that turgid, self-satisfied aristocrat, a man whose very soul was surely to be a void, a chasm of emptiness and vanity? He, the hero, the lamb of the goddess, might be meager compared to her, a lowly vessel for the divine, but at least he was not a vacuous, posturing buffoon like the Duke, a man whose every word and deed a travesty, a poor play of all that was perfect. The injustice rankled, it was rancid, a burning sense of outrage. She deserved better, oh so much better, than that turgid, self-satisfied individual, a man whose very existence suggested blasphemy against the gods. And he, the low-born hero , was the only one who saw it, the only one who dared to speak the truth in a world gone mad.

There is no want of power in God to cast wicked men into hell at any moment. Men's hands can’t be strong when God rises up: The strongest have no power to resist him, nor can any deliver out of his hands.

The world was a vexatious joke, founded on absurdity and injustice, a horrid knot of contradictions that defied unraveling. He'd unpick the threads, rewrite the narrative—but later, when the needled holes of his heart had healed. For now, he had to face her, had to behold her pristine smile, her eyes like jewels shining with a celestial light in the solar radiance. But the very thought of it, the proximity to her, was a sharpened knife, slicing through his tender skin like a scimitar, leaving him vulnerable to the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune. So he reached for the flask, the sweet, sweet anesthesia that would numb the pain, dull the senses, and grant him a fleeting respite from the torment that beset him. Just one draught, a tiny reprieve, a moment's peace. The liquor burned his throat, a fiery solace that spread through his veins like a balm, a soothing unction that calmed the troubled waters of his soul. He closed his eyes, let the warmth seep into his bones, and steeled himself for the encounter ahead, a gladiatorial combat with his own heart.

Zelda's heart fluttered like a wild drumbeat in her breast, a primal cadence that echoed through her very being as she awaited his arrival, her senses heightened with anticipation, her every nerve attuned to the impending encounter. The memory of their last meeting still lingered, a festering slice that refused to heal, a suppurating sore that throbbed with a malignant intensity. His face, a mask of unbridled fury, was etched in her mind like a scar, a livid reminder of the anguish he had wrought. The way he had left her, without a word, without a glance, still stung, a draught that pained her soul like a caustic potion. The recollection of her own vulnerability, lying alone and exposed on the bed, like a supplicant before an unyielding deity, was too a humiliating reminder of her own powerlessness. She had expected this however, that most eloquent of rebukes, a chastisement that had cut her to the quick. And now, as she prepared to face him again, she steeled herself for the worst, her heart fortified like a citadel, her spirit girded like a warrior's. Would he confront her, or ignore her? Would he still be consumed by the same rage that had driven him away? She took a deep breath, her hands trembling slightly as she smoothed her dress, a futile attempt to calm the turmoil that beset her.

The knock at the door was unmistakable—two firm raps, a pause, and then a single soft tap, a cadence that echoed in her memory like a haunting refrain, a unique signature that only he possessed, a summons that bespoke his presence. “Enter.” The door swung open, and he stepped inside, his face a mask of formal composure, a visage of marble serenity that hid the turmoil beneath. His eyes, once bright with warmth and humor, now glazed over, like polished onyx, their luster dulled by the patina of pain. His posture was rigid, his back straight as a rod, his arm locked behind him with military precision. He bowed, a slight inclination of his head, a gesture of respect that implied almost mocking in its formality, and cleared his throat with a soft, respectful cough, a gentle ahem that shattered the silence like a dropped crystal. The stillness that followed was oppressive, a heavy pall that suffocated the air, a crushing weight that pressed upon her very soul. It was a far cry from the easy camaraderie they once shared, the knowing glances and gentle smiles that spoke volumes without a word, the soft whispers and sweet laughter that had once filled the space between them. Now, his expression was a fortress, impenetrable and still, a bastion of silence that felt impregnable.

“Sir Link, I daresay you are in good health?" Zelda's voice was a polished mask, a thin veneer of courtesy that scarce concealed the glacial chill beneath, a frosty demeanor that froze the very air around her. A nod, curt and perfunctory, was his sole response, a brusque acknowledgment that bespoke his own icy reserve.

"Good then," she continued, her tone dripping with haughty indifference, a studied nonchalance that shrugged off the very notion of his existence. "I have no further use of you. Dismissed. Attend to thy station, and trouble me no more."

The words were a stinging slap, a crisp dismissal that left no room for doubt or argument, a peremptory decree that seemed to brook no appeal. "Aye, Your Highness," Link replied, his voice equally formal, equally cold, a frozen echo of her own haughty tone. He bowed, a slight inclination of his head, a gesture of respect that almost mocked in its formality, and turned to depart, his footsteps echoing through the silence like a mournful dirge, a death knell that tolled the demise of all that once was between them. The distance between them was a chasm, a vast and unbridgeable expanse that grew wider with every passing moment, a yawning void that threatened to swallow all in its path.

The days crept by with glacial slowness, punctuated solely by icy stares and brief, perfunctory exchanges, a stilted dance of courtesy that masked a deeper animosity. Link remained steadfast in his duty, a constant and unyielding presence, accompanying Zelda everywhere she went, his eyes watchful and vigilant, his gaze a piercing sentinel that brooked no trespass. His only absences were brief and ritualistic: two hours each morning for drill, a martial discipline that coincided with her morning prayers, and two hours each evening to attend to his paperwork.  At night, he stood vigilant, a silent and unmoving guardian, watching over her with a devotion that was almost monastic, his loyalty unwavering even as the silence between them grew thicker than the frost that encrusted the winter windows. He would not leave her side, his presence a constant reminder of his duty, his honor, and his unshakeable commitment to her safety, a bond though stronger than steel, yet more brittle than the ice that sheathed the frozen lake.

He used to sit beside her, his papers and quill scattered across the desk in a familiar tableau of industry, their shoulders almost touching in a gentle proximity that bespoke a deep and abiding comfort. His brow furrowed in concentration, his quill scratching across the parchment with a soft, deliberate scratch. But now, he banished his paperwork to the evenings, a mere two hours that was surely woefully inadequate for the sheer volume of tasks he undertook with a diligence that bordered on obsession. Zelda's concern grew, for she knew him well enough to recognize the telltale signs of exhaustion: the faint slurring of his words, the occasional stumble, the whiff of alcohol that clung to him like a shadow, a dark and foreboding specter that haunted his every step. His eyes, once bright and alert as the morning stars, now sunken, his face drawn with the weight of responsibility, his features etched with a deepening weariness that bore into his very soul. She wondered how he managed to keep up the facade, to maintain his duty-bound vigilance despite the toll it took on his body and mind, his spirit seemingly unbroken but his flesh weak and faltering.

And then, there was the flash of ire that crossed his countenance, a fleeting glimpse of emotion he couldn't quite conceal, a momentary lapse in his otherwise impassive mask. It was a look that had become all too familiar, a spark of resentment that would ignite whenever his gaze fell upon her, a smoldering ember of discontent. Zelda knew its source, the cursed ring that encircled her finger like a constant reminder of their predicament, a gilded fetter that bound her to a fate she could not escape. She'd seen the way he recoiled from it, the way his eyes would narrow in distaste, as if the very sight of it was an affront to his honor. Perhaps, she thought, he'd grown to associate her with the ring, to see her as a constant reminder of his own powerlessness, a symbol of the shackles that bound him to a duty he could not forsake. The thought stung, a bitter draught that pierced her heart like a dagger, but she didn't blame him. How could she, when she felt the same way, trapped in a prison of circumstance, with no escape from the fate that had been ordained for her?

Oh, he hates her doesn’t he?

Oh, how wrong she is. He loves her so much.

_____

Today, she was to behold her betrothed, Duke Eran, a man of considerable wealth and prestige, though his physical countenance was far from comely. His belly bulged forth from his breeches, and his visage was bereft of charm, with a thatch of red hair and a ginger beard that did little to enhance his features. Though he maintained a tidy appearance, his teeth were yellowed and his person reeked of tobacco, smoke, and expensive cologne, a gross mélange that did assault her senses. He was her age, though three winters older in aspect, for she was technically his senior, having endured a century-long conflict and a subsequent ten millennia as a dragon, a span of time that had left its mark upon her soul. His face was a strange amalgam of youthful and aged features, a visage both smooth and wrinkled, like a parchment worn by the ravages of time. Fie upon his ugliness, yet she could not deny his diligence, his refined elegance, and his poetic flair, for his manners were impeccable and his verse was lovely, a true marvel of eloquence.

But alas, Duke Eran's hands were too soft and uncalloused, lacking the rugged texture of Link's, whose palms were worn from countless feats of strength, including the lifting of boulders twice his size, a task that would have been impossible for the duke. Moreover, he could not distinguish between the various types of woods and metals, a knowledge that Link possessed in abundance, nor could he craft humorous jests that brought a smile to her face, a talent that Link wielded with effortless ease. And now, as they strolled through the garden, Link stood behind her, his gaze carefully averted, a silent sentinel who watched over her with a fondness that bordered on reverence. His presence was a poignant reminder of all that Duke Eran lacked, a constant shadow that loomed over the duke's pretensions.

Verily, she had spent but a fleeting moment in Duke Eran's company, their encounters numbering scarce five at most. Their discourse was limited to matters of practicality: the disposition of wealth, the forthcoming nuptials, preparations for the union, trade, and the acquisition of real estate. On occasion, they would engage in discussions of poetry and literature, a pleasant diversion, to be sure, but their interactions extended little beyond such polite conversation. He had kissed her knuckles, and held her hand in a gesture of courtly affection, yet their intimacy had progressed no further. For she was expected to remain an innocent princess, untouched and unblemished, her lips unkissed, her virtue intact. Unfathomable the notion that Link, the knight who stood behind her, was the one who’d deflowered her and taken her first kiss. Her knight, who’d taken all her firsts, and she his.

Yet, she forced a courteous laugh when Duke Eran endeavored to jest, his words falling flat, though she did appreciate the effort. He regaled her with sweet nothings about poets and their works, and demonstrated a surprising familiarity with the subjects she spoke of in a distracted manner. Though his countenance was not blessed with comeliness, she found solace in his kindly nature, a virtue that rendered him tolerable, if not endearing. His words, laced with honeyed phrases, soothed her melancholy, and she began to see him in a more favorable light, as a gentle soul, if not a passionate one. Still, her heart remained with Link, the knight who stood sentinel behind her, his presence a constant reminder of the love she dare not speak.

She forced herself to forget the searing warmth of his breath in her ear, the husky whispers that had sent shivers coursing through her veins like liquid fire. She couldn't let herself recall the rough gentleness of his calloused hands, how they had grasped her with a possessive intensity, holding her suspended above his abdomen as his lips devoured hers. And, most of all, she struggled to erase the memory of his mouth on her neck, the soft, wet caress that had made her whimper and tremble like a leaf, her very flesh thrumming with desire. The memories taunted her, threatening to unravel her carefully constructed facade, to expose the raw, aching longing that lay hidden beneath.

She stifled the ache within, the moist heat that spread like a stain between her thighs, proof to her body's treacherous desires. She willed herself to disregard the primal urge to turn to Link, to beseech him to claim her, to soothe the burning emptiness that only he could fill. She suppressed the memory of his touch, the deft caress that had once set her aflame, the gentle yet insistent pressure that had coaxed her very soul to yield. Her flesh remembered, even as her mind rebelled, the sweet agony of his lovemaking, the tender bruises he had left upon her skin, the soft whispers that had lulled her into surrender. She bit back a whimper, her teeth sinking deep into her lip, as she forced herself to resist.

And so, she stifled the rising tide of her desires until the evening's ordeal was finally at an end, and she had retreated to the solitude of her chamber, Link's presence a subtle comfort just beyond the door. It was only when she had barricaded herself within, her back pressed against the wooden panel, that she succumbed to the pent-up longing. With furtive haste, she gathered her nightgown about her waist, her fingers moving with a will of their own, as she sought to assuage the need within. The memories of Link's touch, his kisses, his gentle yet insistent caresses, came flooding back, and she gave herself over to them, her body trembling with suppressed sobs, her breath caught in her throat, as she found a fleeting solace in the shadows of her own desire.

In the depths of her longing, she yearned for Link to discern her muffled sighs, to sense the desperation that drove her to seek solace in the darkness. She fantasized that he would burst through the door, his eyes ablaze with passion, vowing to vanquish all who stood in their way, and to reduce the world to ashes for her sake alone. Alas, fate was cruel, and he remained just beyond the threshold, a mere barrier separating them. The door, once a simple obstacle, now seemed an insurmountable divide, a constant reminder of the impossibility of their love. She recalled the anguish in his eyes when they lay together after her betrothal, the pain of their doomed amour etched upon his face like a wound. And so, she steeled herself against her desires, refusing to indulge in selfish whims, though her heart rebelled against the sacrifice. For to surrender to their passion would be to condemn them both to a life of sorrow and secrecy.

She stifled her cry with a trembling hand, her body shuddering in solitary ecstasy, a poor substitute for the bliss she knew in Link's arms. The faint echo of pleasure was a bittersweet reminder of all she had forsaken, a hollow comfort that left her feeling bereft and alone. Yet, she knew she must accustom herself to this meager solace, for it would be her sole companion in the long, dark nights ahead, a poignant reminder of the love she dare not claim.

Oh, how she wanted him to burn it all down.

_____

The forbidden flame that burns within his breast, the very word unspeakable. He should not covet her, for she is promised to another, bound by the ties of betrothal. Should not lust after her, for she does not belong to him. Should not crave her, like he does now with those bottles. Yet, his heart doth sing a different tune, to have him tread ever closer to the precipice of desire. Her gaze, a radiant beam that illuminates his very soul, sets his chest aflutter, a wild fluttering that threatens to consume him whole. Those lips, a rosebud's promise of sweetness, taunt him with every cold whispered word, every smile. His mind, a maelstrom of forbidden longing, conjures visions of her form, a masterpiece of curves and softness, begging to be explored, to be cherished. And he, a lowly servant to his own desires, cannot help but wish to lavish upon her every ravishing endearment, every honeyed phrase, to lose himself in the depths of her eyes, and never find his way back again. Alas, fate, it seems, hath other plans, and yet, his heart refuses to listen.

O, perfidious fate, how you toy with mortal hearts? Nay, 'twas not fate's cruelty that tore them asunder, for fate itself had bound their souls in celestial matrimony. Yes, he should not rail against the heavens, when it was destiny whom bespoke their union. For centuries, the threads of their existence had been intertwined, he, the chosen lamb of the goddess, she, his divine counterpart, his guiding star. Verily, they were ordained to reign supreme, above the mundane travails of mortal men. 'Twas the petty decrees of humanity that sought to sunder their love, a meaningless tradition forged by insects of the earth, blind to the cosmic design. Thus, he was denied the tender touch of his goddess, his heart shattered by the very ordinances of the lowly. Yet, the iron-fisted dictates of mortal men forbade their love, a draconian decree that sought to extinguish the very flame of their existence. But lo, the gods themselves had ordained a different fate, one where their union was the linchpin of salvation, the axis upon which the fate of their world turned. And still, they found themselves ensnared in the web of human convention, bound by the whims of the ignorant and the foolish. Why did she, his radiant goddess, strive to appease the rabble, to curry favor with those who knew not the first thing about the celestial ballet that had brought them together? Ah, the travesty of it all, that their love, the very essence of their being, should be held hostage to the capricious whims of those who dwelled in darkness, unillumined by the divine.

They deserve to be cast into hell; so that divine justice never stands in the way, it makes no objection against God’s using his power at any moment to destroy them.

By the very metrics of their own absurd expectations, he had transcended the boundaries of his humble origins, ascending to unparalleled heights of excellence. Though born of lowly station, he had proven himself the very embodiment of heroic virtue, a paragon of achievement in every realm. He had mastered the arcane arts of statecraft, commerce, and warfare, his mind a razor-sharp instrument honed by the whetstone of dedication. With effortless ease, he navigated the labyrinthine complexities of etiquette, his manners told to his refined character. His knowledge of the lands was encyclopedic, a mental atlas of unparalleled precision, rivaling even that of his goddess. His linguistic prowess spanned the dominions, a polyglot of astonishing facility, able to converse with kings, chieftains, and magistrates in their own tongues. His business acumen was legend, his wealth a self-made testament to his financial wizardry, unaided by the crutch of familial connections. His network of alliances stretched across the realms, a vast tapestry of influence, woven from the threads of his own making. And in the rarefied realm of literature, he stood second only to his goddess, his mind a repository of wisdom, steeped in the classics, and conversant with the masters. By any measure, he was the consummate exemplar of their own ideals.

His prowess was extended longer even, for he was also of course a master of the martial arts, a warrior of unyielding ferocity and unwavering precision. His prowess in battle was the stuff of his legend, a symphony of steel and strategy, conducted with the rigid perfection of a master maestro. His strength was a wonder to behold, a testament to his unyielding dedication to the pursuit of excellence, and his role as the chosen hero and supreme commander of the guard. But alas, his expertise extended far beyond the realm of combat, for he was also an adept artisan, well-versed in the ancient arts of blacksmithing and weaponry. He knew the subtle nuances of metallurgy, the hidden patterns of stress and strain, and the delicate balance of form and function. And, as if by osmosis, he had absorbed the vast and varied knowledge of his goddess, Zelda, whose encyclopedic mind and perfect memory had imbued him with a deep understanding of the arcane sciences, the mystical rhythms of mathematics, and the sublime beauty of art. By mere proximity to her radiance, he had become a polymath, a Renaissance warrior, whose breadth of knowledge was rivaled only by his depth of passion.

The cruel irony of fate, that he, the twice-savior of the world, was deemed unworthy to wed his destined love, his goddess, Zelda. As if his heroic deeds, his unwavering dedication, and his very essence, forged by the gods themselves, were not enough. The capricious whims of nobility, clinging to outdated traditions like a drowning man to a splintered plank, had decreed their love forbidden. The very same nobles who had benefited from his bravery, who had been saved by his selflessness, now denied him the one thing he desired most. The common folk, freed from the shackles of convention, lived and loved with abandon, while the aristocracy, mired in their own arrogance, refused to yield. Tradition , that grimey prison, a constant reminder of the societal chains that bound him, a hero, to a life of solitude, by the spiders lame cobwebs meant to govern him.

What are they, that they should think to stand before him, at whose rebuke the earth trembles, and before whom the rocks are thrown down?

O, the unyielding torment of his own depraved desires! A maelstrom of lust that ravaged his very soul, leaving naught but a trail of shattered virtue in its wake. His soul, was ripped with conflicting passions, where honor and debauchery clashed in ceaseless combat. For in the depths of his loins, a fire raged, a conflagration of carnal longing. He yearned to claim her, to possess her utterly, to ravish her with a ferocity that would leave her breathless and begging for more. To plant his seed within her, to fill her with his essence, to make her his own in every sense. And in his darkest moments, he fantasized about eradicating the duke, that odious impediment to his happiness, and rendering him naught but a footnote in the annals of history. O, the unbridled savagery of his own desires! How they taunted him, tantalized him, and tempted him with promises of fleeting pleasure and eternal damnation.

O, fair Zelda, who was the very marrow of his existence, the ambrosial nectar that sustains his soul, the vital essence that courses through his veins like molten lava. Thou art the auroral breeze that fills his lungs, the crystalline dew that quenches his thirst, the savory relish that flavors every morsel, and the resplendent hue that paints every sunrise with vibrant splendor. His longing for thee, O goddess, is a raging tempest that ravages his very being, a passion so fierce it drives him to the brink of madness and beyond. He yearns to offer thee a world purged of all imperfections, a realm where only beauty and wonder exist, a paradise where thou shalt reign supreme, untouched by the vile and the mundane. He would slaughter every unworthy wretch, present thee with a mountain of sacrifices, and rid the land of all that is foul and loathsome. He would expel the impurities, like a man purging his body of noxious poison, and cleanse himself of the gnawing ache that festers in his heart, a cancer of unrequited love. And when fate, that cruel and heartless mistress, denies him the one thing he desires most, he would die, yet again, a thousand deaths, and yet, he would not succumb, for he lives to serve thee, O goddess, to be thy instrument of justice, thy champion in a world that does not deserve thy radiance, thy beauty, or thy love.

If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must rule over it.

Instead, in the depths of his chambers, where shadows danced like demons on the walls, he sat, a solitary figure, consumed by the fiery passion that ravaged his soul. The flask, poured forth its golden elixir, a balm for the wounds that would not heal. His hand, a treacherous ally, stroked the flesh that cried out for her tender touch, a pitiful substitute for the love that had been denied. He closed his eyes, and summoned the memories of her divine presence, like a sorcerer invoking the spirits of old. The gentle curve of her smile, a radiant sunrise that banished the darkness; the golden cascade of her tresses, which flowed like honeyed wine; the delicate fingers that once intertwined with his, an embrace that had set his soul aflame; and the soft, yielding contours of her body, a lush garden of delight that had been his to plunder. His mind, a maelstrom of desire, struggled to recall the ecstasy of her surrender, the sweet abandon of her pleasure, when she had lain beneath him, a willing sacrifice to the gods of love. He moaned, a low, keening sound, like a beast in torment, as her name escaped his lips, a whispered prayer to the darkness, a plea for mercy, for respite from the agony that would not cease. The bottle, a hollow comfort, was raised to his lips once more, the liquor burning its way down his throat, a fleeting solace for the ache that gnawed at his entrails like a rat in the walls.

If your eye causes you to sin, take it out and throw it away.

In a desperate attempt to recreate the tender touch of his beloved, he grasped his own hair, pulling with a ferocity that bordered on madness, as if to conjure the gentle caress of her fingers. A guttural groan, born of despair and desperation, tore from his lips, a haunting cry that echoed through the desolate chambers of his soul. The liquor, now a bitter solace, flowed like tears from the bottle, as he poured it upon his hand, a futile attempt to anoint himself with the essence of her love.  But alas, the sensation was a hollow mockery, a cruel jest that only served to deepen his frustration. His body shuddered, a convulsive tremor that racked his frame, as he struggled to catch his breath, the ragged gasps of a man drowning in his own despair. He reached climax, the evidence of his solitude staining his hand and pants A solitary tear, a glistening pearl of sorrow, rolled down his cheek, as he grasped a tattered rag, wiping away the evidence of his shame, and took another swig of the bottle.

_____

He stands amidst the monster camp, a lone figure shrouded in the flickering shadows of torches, his senses dulled by the haze of liquor. The beasts, oblivious to the danger lurking among them, caper and snarl, their crude weapons at the ready. He could slaughter them all, effortlessly, in the span of a mere half-hour, their pitiful forms crumbling beneath his blade like autumn leaves. Yet, he refrains, his arrogance whispering sweet nothings in his ear, urging him to indulge in this farce, to let these wretched creatures think they hold power over him. The humans, too, have held sway over him, their whims and fancies dictating his every move; what difference, then, do these monsters make? As the bokoblin, its eyes aglow with a malignant intelligence, raises a rusty sword and strikes, he doesn't flinch, the blow landing with a dull thud, a mere caress compared to the anguish he craves. Still, the sting is a gentle thrill, a whispered promise of the pain he truly desires. The bokoblin, sensing the disconnect between Link's passive demeanor and his evident strength, grows wary, its beady eyes darting back and forth like a trapped rodent. Link's lips curl into a maddening smile, a gentle coo threatening to escape his throat, as he regards the creature with a patronizing fondness, its stupidity almost... charming.

Link's arms, a canvas of temptation, beckon the bokoblin's blade once more, inviting the strike, coaxing the creature's aggression. The bokoblin, its ferocity honed by Link's passive surrender, slashes again, with greater force, and Link hisses, the pain a sweet, golden nectar that courses through his veins, a gentle solace from the numbness. The sting of the blade, a razor's kiss, awakens a hunger within him, a craving for more. And then, a new player enters the macabre dance, a bokoblin of singular stupidity, its white and striped hide a funny hint to its vacuous nature. It charges forth with jubilant abandon, its lounge-limp appendage flailing wildly, striking true, yet clumsy, cutting through Link's arm with a sloppy, tearing motion. The pain, a crimson bloom, unfurls within him, a rose of sweet, savage beauty. In a fit of frustration, Link grasps his own sword, its familiar weight a cruel comfort, and plunges it into his stomach. The blade bites deep, a searing agony that flashes like lightning through his veins. Yet, in this moment of self-inflicted torment, he's driven by a sick desire to instruct the bokoblin in the art of true pain, as if to say, "Thus, you should strike, with precision and purpose." The sword's kiss is a bitter lesson, one he imparts to himself, and to the bewildered creature, which watches with a mix of horror and fascination.

Link, in another reckless display of dominance, sheds his tunic, the fabric tearing away like a shed skin, exposing his scarred and battered torso. He taunts the bokoblins with a gaze that drips with contempt, a sneer that dares them to try and touch him. The creatures, driven by mindless ferocity, fling themselves at him, their blows a maddening tattoo of fists and claws, but Link stands unmoved, his eyes flashing with a fierce inner light. He raises his flask, the liquid fire within burning with a smoky, peat-like intensity, the flavor a primal scream on his tongue. But even its familiar burn fails to stir him, and he casts it aside, his attention drawn to the bokoblin's pitiful weapon. With a dismissive snarl, he snatches the thing, a fragile sliver of metal, and drives it through the creature's skull with a savage, twisting motion, the sound a wet, crunching snap, like a branch breaking in a storm. In a flash of violence, a mere flicker of time, Link's blade finds its mark, and the white bokoblin's skull shatters like a brittle eggshell. The creature's eyes freeze, wide with shock, its body a slack, boneless thing, unable to comprehend the swift and merciless end. Link's boot descends, a crushing weight, pinning the bokoblin to the ground like a corrupted, nightmarish insect. The flesh bursts, a purple, pulpy mess, like overripe fruit, spilling its sticky, viscous contents onto the earth. Link regards the corpse with a dispassionate gaze, his expression a mask of revulsion, as if he's stepped in a foul, festering mire. With a careless swipe of his foot, he smears the bokoblin's remains across the ground, a gruesome, abstract smear, like a mad artist's brushstroke, erasing the creature's existence with a callous, dismissive gesture.

The smarter bokoblin flees, its terrified yips echoing through the air, as Link approaches the Moblin with a listless stride. His sword rises, a mechanical motion, and falls, biting deep into the creature's flesh. But the impact, the resistance, the very sensation of violence, fails to satisfy him. He stabs again, and again, and again , the blade plunging into the Moblin's corpse with a rhythmic, mindless intensity, the sound of metal slicing through wet flesh growing dull and muffled, a morbid monotony. Link's eyes glaze, his mind fixated on the Duke's face, his smug, self-satisfied smile shattered, jaw cracked wide, teeth splintered against the cold, hard concrete. The image fuels his frenzy, his sword rising and falling with a speed and ferocity that defies human limits. Finally, he halts, his chest heaving, his gaze falling upon the butchered Moblin, its body a ravaged, unrecognizable mass, a beaut to Link's unquenchable rage. He sighs, a slow, heavy exhalation, as if the violence has drained him, left him hollow.

And now, in this moment of unguarded truth, the legendary hero stands revealed, his noble facade cracked, exposing the darker passions beneath. For Link, the great slayer of beasts, harbors a secret shame - a morbid fascination with dominating the weak, the small, the defenseless. His eyes, once bright with courage, now burn with a pyromancer's fire, fueled by a hunger to hurt, to maim, to destroy. Yet, one unattainable figure stands above him, a constant, haunting presence, the object of his longing. His love for her is an anchor, a bittersweet torment that drives him to drink, to dull the ache within. He raises his flask, a futile attempt to drown the demons, and closes his eyes, surrendering to the dreams that haunt him, where she lives, a fleeting, ethereal vision, forever beyond his grasp.

_____

He’s inebriated. Link knows he is because he’s stumbling, his perceptions assailed by the ale's heady vapors, as the chamber whirled around him with the dizzying frenzy of a madman's top and a game of Jax. Two bottles, drained in a desperate quest to numb the agony that carved within his crimson insides, had proved his undoing. A fleeting semblance of wisdom had stayed his hand until the morning's martial drills were done, but alas, his patience had faltered, and he had succumbed to the siren's call of the ale jug ere his evening respite. Now, with only three months remaining until her summer nuptials, the specter of his loss loomed greater. A bitter, churning nausea roiled within his stomach, yet still he knew he must confront her, even in his enfeebled state. The galling presence of those 15 guards, installed to usurp his place in his absence, bothered him immensely. Fueled by the bravado of drunkenness, he steeled himself for the ordeal ahead, his emotions a treacherous and turbulent sea.

Link strode forward with a semblance of steadiness, his gait unwavering to the untrained eye, though a keen observer might detect the faintest hint of sway, a barely perceptible stumble as he navigated the corner leading to her chambers. He rapped upon the door with his customary knock, a signal of his arrival, and she opened it with her usual cold face, expecting to be escorted to breakfast. Yet, her countenance swiftly shifted from perfect to wary, her nostrils flaring as she detected the faint reek of ale, her eyes narrowing as she beheld the telltale fuzz in his gaze. His inebriation was not so expertly concealed that she, with her sharp wit and intimate knowledge, could not discern it. Her lips pursed, her brow furrowed, and her eyes sparkled with a mix of concern and annoyance, for she was no fool, and Link's debilitated state was plain to her discerning gaze.

Have you been indulging in ale again?" she inquired, her voice tinged with a mix of disappointment and incredulity.

Link's eyes darted, his throat convulsing in a faint clearing motion, as he twitched, a tiny, telling spasm. "I don't...drink, Princess," he slurred, ever so slightly, the words tumbling forth with a soft, drunken cadence.

Her gaze narrowed, her eyes flashing with indignation, "Do not dare trifle with my intellect," she warned, her tone sharp as a blade.

Yet, Link, stubborn and prideful, reeled, his frame swaying, as he protested, "I did not," the words laced with a faint, belligerent garble.

With a fierce grasp, she hauled him into the room, his protests and attempts to extricate himself proving no match for her determination. Yet, he desisted, his struggles ceasing, for he was ensnared by his own devotion to her. "Desist..." he pleaded, his voice a low, defeated murmur.

"Why in the name of all that's holy are you indulging in this vice?!" she thundered, her ire redoubled as she shoved against his chest, her palms like brands of accusation. "You're a damned fool!" she exclaimed, her words a lashing rebuke. "What ever is the matter with you?!" Her eyes blazed with a fierce, maternal concern, as if beholding a beloved, capricious child.

"None of your concern," he muttered, a sulky, petulant retort. But she would not be swayed, her ire ignited by his insolence. She recoiled, her eyes flashing with indignation, before whirling to confront him anew. "None of my business?!" she echoed, her voice a rising, incredulous crescendo.

"You dare suggest that my safety, my well-being, is not my paramount concern? That your drunken antics, this unseemly display, is not a betrayal of the trust placed in you?!" Her words dripped with scorn, her tone a lashing rebuke.

"You are a guardian, a protector, not some callow, self-indulgent youth!"

And then, his patience spent, he snarled, "Silence!" a curt, brutal command, meant to quell her righteous fury.

She recoiled, her countenance pale with shock, for never had he addressed her with such vitriolic disdain. Anger and frustration simmered within her, a potent brew, as she demanded, "Retract those words, this instant!"

But he pressed forward, his eyes aglow with a fierce, pent-up ferocity, his movements a deliberate, menacing crawl, as if savoring the fear that blossomed within her like a dark, hellebore. His countenance, a mask of glacial calm, belied the turbulent storm that seethed beneath, as he rasped, his voice a low, velvety purr laced with venom, "Cease your yapping, woman. You hold no sway over me." The words dripped with malice, a slow, sweet poison that coursed through her veins like liquid ice, leaving her skin slithering with dread.

"You are acting a fool!" she exclaimed, her voice a perfect counterpoint to his, a duet of discord and fury. "I will shriek at the top of my lungs if you do not release me this instant!" She threatened, her words trembling with rage and fear.

"Do it," he taunted, his eyes glinting with a dangerous light. And so she did, her cry echoing through the air like a shattered promise. Immediately, he clamped a hand over her mouth, a vice-like grip that stifled her scream. "Silence, you foolish woman!" he spat, his breath hot against her ear. "Shut your fucking mouth!" he hissed, his words a serpent's whisper. "I could do anything, anything at all, and you would be powerless to stop me, Zelda." His voice was a dark, velvet-wrapped menace, a promise of the horrors that lurked within.

As she sank her teeth into his hand, a crimson bloom of blood erupted, and he recoiled with a pained hiss, his curses hanging in the air like a miasma of malevolence. But then, his words dropped like a hammer, crushing her spirit. "Shut your mouth, or I'll take you right here, right now." The threat was a cold, calculated blow, leaving her paralyzed with fear. She felt the weight of her vulnerability, her delicate frame no match for his brute strength. His eyes, once bright with kindness, now seemed to bore into her soul like dark, empty wells. The stench of alcohol clung to him like a shroud, a stark reminder that this was not the man she loved, but a stranger, a monster, driven by base instincts.

Zelda's tears burst forth like a torrent, a deluge of despair that streamed down her face as her body began to shudder and tremble. Her sobs were raw, anguished wails that shook her very frame, as fear and revulsion wrestled for dominance within her. And then, like a mirage dissipating in the light of dawn, his expression transformed. The mask of cruelty slipped, revealing a glimmer of the man she knew. Guilt, like a ravenous beast, devoured his features, leaving behind a landscape of remorse and shame. His eyes, then dark and foreboding, suddenly pleaded for forgiveness, as the weight of his actions crashed down upon him like an iron anvil. Link recoiled, his face ashen, he relinquished his grasp, his hands flying open as if scorched by the very touch of her, and Zelda shrank away, her eyes wide with terror, her form still pinned against the wall as if seeking solace in its sturdy presence. "Z-Zelda, forgive me... " he implored, his voice cracking with anguish, "I am consumed by regret!" But she would not deign to gaze upon him, her eyes fixed upon some distant point beyond his shoulder, her voice a mere whisper. "Begone.” And still he pleaded, his words tumbling forth in a desperate, sorrowful litany.

"Zelda, I beseech you...I did not mean to cause you harm. I would never sully your person with my own hand."  He looked at them as if they were they were covered in her blood.

She collapsed in upon herself, a fragile, shattered thing, and wept with a despair that shook her very frame. And he, overcome with remorse, sought to comfort her, but his own body betrayed him, rebelling against the horror of his actions. He stumbled, his vision reeling, into the bathroom, and fell to his knees before the bucket, his stomach convulsing in a desperate bid to expel the venom that had taken hold within him. He retched, again and again, as if to purge himself of the loathing, the anger, the debased love that had driven him to threaten her so, the noise wet and disgusting. "I am damned," he moaned, his voice a ragged whisper. "I shall perish for this transgression. I shall take my own life, for I am no better than the darkest fiend." His mind reeled with self-loathing, as he struggled to comprehend the darkness that had taken hold of his heart. "What manner of monster am I?" he cried, his voice echoing off the cold, unforgiving tiles.

Yet, even as he wallowed in his own self-loathing, two gentle hands encircled him, and her soft cheek came to rest against his back. He felt the warm tears seeping through his shirt, a culpable reminder of her unwavering compassion. And in that moment, he felt even more wretched, for he knew he was utterly undeserving of her kindness. "No, please...summon the guards," he implored, his voice cracking with anguish. "Take me away, imprison me, for I am a monster, unworthy of your love." But she refused, her grip tightening around him as he retched again, his body contorting in an inverted birth, as he rejected his very being. Her silence was telling to her unshakeable affection. She held him fast, a lifeline in the turbulent sea of his own self-revulsion, and he felt the weight of his shame threaten to consume him whole.

As Link doubles over, his body convulsed in a violent, involuntary spasm, like a puppet jerked by unseen strings. A torrent of bile and half-digested remnants erupts from his mouth, a noxious, yellowish flood that spatters into the pail with a sickening splat. His stomach muscles contract and release, a rhythmic, merciless drumbeat that drives the expulsion of every last drop. The sound is a guttural, primal retch, a raw, anguished cry that seems to rip from his very soul. His face contorts in a grimace of sheer, unadulterated misery, a mask of pain and disgust. And yet, even as his body rebels, there's a strange, perverse relief in the purging, her warmth a fleeting respite from the churning, acidic torment that drove him to this point.

"Link, my love, what ails you…?" she whispered, her voice a gentle breeze. "You are...my everything," he stammered, his words tumbling forth like a dark, turbulent river. "I love you so fiercely, yet you can never be mine." And with that, the dam burst, his emotions crashing down upon him like a tidal wave. She crawled to him, and cradled his anguished face in her hands. Her lips brushed against his eyelid, a loving caress, and he felt his resolve crumble. He tried to pull away, to resist the solace she offered, but she would not be denied. She drew closer, her arms enfolding him, and laid his head upon her shoulder. Her hand stroked his back, a soothing balm for his troubled soul, and he breathed heavily into her neck.

Their foreheads entwined, an endearing touch that spoke of deep longing. "I do not deserve your love, Zelda," he whispered, his voice heavy with self-doubt. "You should revile me, for I am unworthy."

"How could I ever loathe the man who has sacrificed all for me?" she countered, her words a gentle rebuke. "Thou hast given me everything, Link. You deserve all the love in the world, and more."

His eyes, once bright with a warrior's fire, now dimmed, weighed down by the crushing burden of his own self-loathing. "I deserve the very depths of hell," he whispered, his voice a mere shadow of its former self. But she would not let him succumb to the darkness. She squeezed him tightly, her arms a lifeline to the drowning man.

"Verily, Link, I do not possess all that I desire," she breathed, her whisper a soft against his ear. "Thou alone holdest the key to granting me that which I lack." And then, the query, a heartfelt supplication from the very marrow of his being. "Pray, tell me... what is't that you require of me? I shall not falter, nor shall I withhold aught from thee. What is thy desire?"

Her answer, a single word, a whispered promise. "You, Link." Just that, just him, his heart, his soul, his everything.

He crumbled, his resolve shattered by her words, his heart laid bare before her. "You are forbidden to me…" he whispered, the weight of his duty, his destiny, crushing him.

"May curses rain upon them, Link!" she spat, her voice a fiery blaze of indignation. "May they be forever damned for their meddling! Thou didst promise me the world, and all its desires. Now, I command thee: make it so! Thou art my vassal, sworn to my will. Obey me, and let none stand in our way! Serve me ."  And with that, he was lost, forever bound to her will. He pressed his lips to hers, a frenzied, desperate kiss, and though the taste of alcohol and sickness lingered, she would not turn away. She saw beyond the ugliness, beyond the flaws, to the perfection that lay within. He was her savior, her hero, and she was his redemption, his salvation. In that moment, nothing else mattered, only the love they shared, a love strong enough to conquer all.

"I am beset by the fumes of intoxication...does this moment constitute a mere fantasy?" he murmured, his words a mumbled litany of uncertainty. "Do you desire it to be thus?" she hushed, voice sweet. He shook his head, his mind a maelstrom of confusion,

"Nay...am I succumbing to the great beyond? O, Goddess, have mercy…" The specter of mortality loomed, but she vanquished it with a kiss—sweet benediction that left him gasping in rapture. "Am I your goddess?" she asked, her voice a husky, velvet purr.

"Aye..." he breathed, his eyes locked upon hers with an admiration bordering on reverence. "Then...love me, worship me, and cherish me as your own." And with that, he surrendered utterly, his lips descending upon hers in a fervent, passionate osculation. "I do, my love, my heart, my everything," he whispered, his very essence hers to command. The world around them dissolved, leaving only the two of them, lost in a boundless sea of ardor, their love a beacon of pure, unadulterated loyalty.

With reverence, he lifted her as if she were his cherished bride, his fingers trembling with anticipation as he grasped her delicate form. The offending ring, a symbol of her bondage to another, was cast aside like a vile serpent, its presence an affront to their love. Her skirts, a diaphanous cloud of silk and satin, billowed and rustled like a gentle susurration as he cradled her in his arms, their soft psithurism a sweet serenade to their reunion. He laid her down with assiduous care, his fingers tracing the contours of her body with a fervor that bordered on the divine. The bodice, a cruel constraint that had bound her beauty. The corset, a instrument of torture that had confined her loveliness, was cast aside like a discarded husk, revealing the fair expanse of her skin, a canvas of beauty that had haunted his every waking moment. His lips, fervent and adoring, traced the contours of her body, reclaiming every inch of her as his own, rekindling the passion that had once burned bright between them like a wildfire that consumes all in its path.

Offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship

With deliberate slowness, he unwound himself, unshackling the constraints of his attire, the buckle of his pants surrendering to her soft palms. His hat, again a symbol of his worldly concerns, was cast aside, abandoned to the whims of fate, as he surrendered to the allure of her presence. His lips, fervent and adoring, met hers in a chaste caress that spoke of promises and lust. Time itself slowed, as the warmth of the afternoon sun cast its golden light upon their reunion, bathing them in a radiance that was almost divine. She drank in the sight of him, her gaze tracing the strong lines of his jaw, the piercing blue of his eyes, windows to the very soul of him. Every touch, every glance, every whispered promise, was a monument to the perfection of their love, a harmony of hearts that had been ordained by the very heavens themselves.

His hands, those rugged sentinels of love, with fingers worn as the weathered stones of their ancient castle, yet radiating a warmth that could thaw the very marrow of her bones, touched her with a gentleness that belied their calloused exterior, like the golden rays of the sun melting the frost of sorbet, leaving naught but a puddle of sweetness in its wake. She yielded to his caress, her body surrendering to the mattress like a shipwrecked vessel, lost at sea, yet finding safe harbor in the familiar contours of his strong physique. With eager fingers, she grasped his tunic, that flimsy barrier between them, and he swiftly shed it, revealing the tapestry of scars that adorned his body, each one a demonstration to his sacrifice, a topography of pain etched upon his flesh like the lines of a well-worn parchment. She kissed each mark, her lips tracing the labyrinthine paths of his hurt, every wound, every burn, every hurt he had endured for her sake, her touch igniting a fire that burned away the shadows, illuminating the dark recesses of his soul. And when her lips reached the burn scar that lay over his heart, that most tender and vulnerable of places, she kissed it with a fervor that bordered on the divine, as if seeking to mend the very crux of his being, to repair the tears in the cloak of his humanity. He gasped, his body shuddering with pleasure, like a leaf rustled by the autumn breeze, for he had deeply missed her affection, her touch, her love, that elixir that had once flowed through his veins like lifeblood, and now, once more, coursed through his very being like a river of gold.

His fingers danced through her amber tresses, a feeling that soothed her every need, as if his touch alone could calm the sadness that had ravaged her soul. Every movement she made, he mirrored with amorous precision, his lips tracing the contours of her face, kissing away the tears that had streamed down her cheeks like summer rain. The picture they formed was one of breathtaking beauty, a tableau of intimacy, as if the very gods had conspired to create a masterpiece. Her hair, a wild tumble of blonde marigold, spread out across the covers like a sunlit halo, framing a face that shone with a radiant flush, a delicate porcelain doll come to life. Her eyes, two glittering jades, shone bright and green, sparkling with tears and soppiness, while her skin, a painting of snowy powdered smoothness. Her cheeks, sticky with the residue of tears, glistened like dew-kissed petals, and her lips, parted in sweet surrender, beckoned him deeper, a blossoming of secrets and delight. In this moment, she was beauty incarnate, a living, breathing embodiment of loveliness, and he, a humble worshiper, basked in the radiance of her presence, forever lost in the depths of her eyes.

He leaned in, his lips grazing the delicate curve of her ear, sending shivers down her spine as he whispered sweet nothings, his warm breath dancing across her skin. She wrapped her arms around his back, holding him close as she basked in his romantic fondle, her fingers tracing the contours of his muscles like a blind person reading Braille.

"I missed you..." he breathed, his voice a mere zephyr, a soft, sweet whisper, sending her heart into a frenzied gallop.

"I missed you too..." she replied, her voice a gentle echo, a soft, silken thread that intertwined with his, as he smooched the tip of her nose, a playful gesture that belied the unfathomable depths of his emotions, a tender touch that spoke of longing and desire.

"I adore you so much," he whispered, his lips tracing the curve of her cheek, leaving a trail of fire in their wake, a burning brand that seared his love into her very soul.

"I love you too," she replied, her voice a soft, sighing whisper, a gentle, loving touch that spoke volumes of her care, as she smooched his lips.

In this moment, time stood still, the world narrowing to the space between them, a tiny, finite universe of two, where the only reality was the love they shared, a love that hung in the balance, a delicate, trembling thing, like a leaf on the verge of falling. He rubbed her sides, his fingers dancing across her skin with a gentle, teasing touch, sending shivers down her spine like a soft breeze rustling the leaves of an oak tree. And then, he suckled softly on her ear, his lips whispering sweet nothings, his breath warm. She giggled, a melodic trill that escaped her lips like a joyous bird set free, for she hadn't realized that he would be in a playful mood, that his eyes would sparkle with mischief, and his touch would be laced with a teasing humor, a delightful surprise that caught her off guard, like a sunbeam bursting through the clouds on a cloudy day, illuminating the landscape of her heart with warmth and delight.

"Zelda, my love, my heart's desire..." he whispered, his voice a low, husky murmur, like the soft rustling of leaves in an ancient, mystical forest, where the trees whispered secrets to the wind.

"Yes, my love?" she replied, her voice a soft, melodious echo, like the gentle lapping of waves on a moonlit shore, where the sea goddesses sang sweet serenades to the night.

"Has he touched you, my love, has he dared to profane your sacred flesh?" he asked, his tone apprehensive, like a dark cloud gathering on the horizon, threatening to unleash a tempest of jealousy and possessiveness.

"Nay, Link, my love, my champion, only you have touched me, only you have claimed me as your own, you know this." she reassured him, her words his bandages, like the gentle rain soothing the parched earth. He sighed, a deep, ragged breath, like a warrior laying down his arms, his heart heavy with the weight of his own doubts and fears.

"At all, my love, has he even dared to brush against you, to steal a kiss from your lips?" he pressed, his eyes narrowing, like a hawk scanning the horizon for signs of danger, his heart aflame with a fierce, all-consuming passion.

"Nay, my love, we have only held hands, and he has kissed my knuckles, the innocent gesture, a token of his respect and admiration," she replied, her voice a gentle, lapping wave, calming the turbulent waters of his soul.

He dislikes that still, and so he claims her hand as his own, his fingers wrapping around hers like a possessive vine, as he kisses her knuckles with a fervor that borders on obsession, ten times, twenty times, a hundred times, as if to erase the memory of Duke Eran's fleeting touch, to sear his own mark upon her skin, to brand her as his own. His lips, soft and hot dance across her knuckles, leaving a trail of fire in their wake, as if to purify her skin, to cleanse it of the faintest whisper of another's caress. And yet, it is a futile gesture, for Link knows that he has kissed these knuckles a million times more than anyone else, that his lips have claimed this skin as their own, that his love has left an indelible mark upon her heart. Still, he kisses her, again and again, as if to reassure himself, to reaffirm his claim, to remind her that she is his, and his alone.

He switched to the other hand, his lips tracing the delicate curves of her fingers, when suddenly, a memory burst forth from the haze of his drunken reverie. The ring, his masterpiece, his token of adherence, crafted from golden metal and adorned with a radiant emerald, a gemstone that shone like the very essence of his love. He marveled at his own handiwork when he sobered the next day, wondering how his intoxicated mind had managed to create something so exquisite, so redolent of his deepest feelings. And yet, he knew that this ring was everything he had ever wanted to give her, the symbol of his eternal allegiance, the pledge of his heart. Without asking permission, without uttering a word, he reached to the side, his hand closing around the small, velvet pouch that held the treasure, and withdrew the ring, its golden metal glinting in the soft light. She gasped, a soft, startled sound, as he slid the ring onto her left hand, the emerald flashing like a beacon, proclaiming that he loved her.

"Oh, Link, it's breathtakingly beautiful," she whispered, her voice barely audible, as she gazed in wonder at the ring that now adorned her finger, its golden metal glinting like sunlight during the high season. The emerald, a vibrant, verdant gemstone, seemed to pulse with an inner light, as if it held the very essence of his love. The small, speckled diamonds that flanked it added a touch of whimsy, like the playful sparkle in his eye, and the intricate design, with its delicate divots and dips, was tribute to his skillful craftsmanship. But it was the inscription on the inside of the band, "for my beloved Zelda," that made her heart skip a beat, the words dancing across the metal like a lover's caress. She cooed with delight, her inquisitive nature bursting forth like a flower in bloom, as she explored every nook and cranny of the ring, marveling at its beauty, its craftsmanship, and the love that had gone into its creation.

"You like it?" he asked, his voice trembling with anticipation, like a leaf quivering in the gentle breeze of her affection. "I can't believe you made this..." she whispered, her words trailing off into a soft gasp of wonder, as if she had stumbled upon a hidden treasure trove of emotions. "Well...?" he prompted, his eyes shining with hope, like a sunrise breaking over the horizon of her heart. She was addled, her thoughts tangled in a delightful confusion, like a skein of silk threads knotted together by the gentle fingers of love.

"What?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper, like the soft lapping of waves on a moonlit shore. "...um...is it a yes?" he ventured, his heart hanging suspended in the balance, like a delicate flower poised on the edge of bloom. And then, she kissed him harshly, her lips crashing against his like a stormy sea against the rocky shores of his soul, "Oh, you stupid boy, of course," Her words were a crown of beauty, bestowed upon him like a garland of grace and redemption.

For now, the rest of their concerns were put aside, like autumn leaves rustling to the ground, as she chose to keep alive the one tradition that brought him joy. The symbol of marriage, a ring that shone like a painting on her finger, a promise of forever. And as he gazed upon her, his eyes feasted on her beauty, like a starving man at a banquet. He dipped a finger between her folds, and marveled at the slick, silken heat that greeted him—a sun-kissed meadow. Her face, a masterpiece of perfection, a work of art that rivaled the gods, shone with a radiant glow, like the first blush of dawn on a cloudless morning. Her features, so delicate, so refined, chiseled by the divine hand of love itself, a testament to the beauty that only true vigor can create. It was as if the gods had conspired to create a being of unearthly beauty, a radiant divinity who shone so brightly that mortal men were helpless against her allure. No wonder he would offer up his very soul on the altar of her love, a willing sacrifice to the goddess who had captured his heart. The hill of his vehemence would run red with the blood of his passions.

With a gentle urgency, he grasped her legs and spread her open, like a blooming flower unfolding its petals to greet the sun. As he pressed himself inside, he felt the sublime harmony of their union, like the sweet concordance of celestial spheres aligning in the vast expanse of the universe. Her heat enveloped him, warm and inviting, a perfect haven that cradled him perfectly. She fit into him like a puzzle piece, a seamless synthesis that seemed ordained by the gods themselves, a picture to the transcendent power of love. Just as the stars shine bright in the velvet blackness of night, or the wood yields its essence to the flames, releasing wisps of smoke that dance upon the air, or the moss clings tenaciously to the ancient stone, its roots digging deep into the earth, or the parchment yields its surface to the ink, absorbing the dark liquid like a thirsty heart drinking in the beauty of the written word.

Alas, the vaunted hero, that paragon of virtue, and the resplendent goddess, esteemed for her moral rectitude. Yet, behold! He succumbs to base desire, coveting another's betrothed. His passions, unbridled, drive him to claim her as his own. Is he not a transgressor, a sinner of the flesh? Nay, such scruples fade like whispers on the wind. As he suckles at her breast, he marvels anew at its pink beauty. His lips, they dance upon her skin, tracing the gentle curve of her navel, his tongue dipping into its sweet recess. Her hips, they rise to meet his fervent touch, even as her belly tightens in sweet surrender. She sighs, her breath a soft benediction, as her nails graze soothingly down his back, a gentle counterpoint to the turmoil that ravages his soul. Verily, she knows that this is a transgression, a surrender to the shadows that have long lingered between them. For Link, erstwhile the epitome of restraint, has never ventured thus far, his ardor always tempered by a deep regard for the boundaries that have hitherto remained inviolate. Yet, on this fateful eve, he crosses the threshold with unbridled fervor, his hands and lips laying claim to her very essence, as if by ancient right. And, in truth, she acknowledged that he has always held dominion over her heart, though she has never before yielded before like completely to his desires. Behold, her hero, her sinner, consumed by desire's unyielding flame. Yet, she, in boundless mercy, shall absolve his every transgression, and lavish reward upon his each hopeless gesture. Thus, he whispers a litany of contrition in her ear, a million soft apologies, though in truth, his every gentle movement, every subtle shift of his hips, doth more than suffice to atone for his past wrongs. For in his ardent devotion, she finds forgiveness, and in his loving touch, redemption.

She finds herself utterly enthralled, incapable of resistance, as every caress of his hands and every brush of his lips upon her skin serves to unshackle the fetters that have long bound her heart. With each deliberate thrust, he strikes the hidden chord within her, that secret place where pleasure and ecstasy entwine, unleashing a torrent of delight that leaves her breathless and bewitched. The lovely humming of his breath against her skin, the symphony of their union—the gentle slap of flesh, the soft sighs, and the primal groans—all conspire to transport her to a realm of unbridled joy, where passion reigns supreme and all else fades into insignificance. His own body is desperate, As he surrenders to the inferno of their passion, he feels the weight of his transgressions melting away, like a sinner cast into the purifying flames of damnation. The fire that consumes him is a crucible of desire, refining his very essence, and forging a new soul, simmered by the heat of their love. Every kiss is a spark that sets his heart ablaze, every touch a flame that licks away his doubts, and every whispered promise a gust of wind that fans the blaze, until he is lost in the conflagration of their union. And yet, in this sweet agony, he finds redemption, for in the depths of her eyes, he sees love that forgives all, and in the warmth of her embrace, a solace that soothes the burns of his past. He is the very Christ risen from the crucifixion, he is reborn, his heart renewed, his spirit revitalized, and his love for her, a burning witness to the transformative power of her purity.

As he reacquainted himself with the contours of her body, lavishing affection upon her with every gentle caress, he can't help but wonder how anyone could deny the righteousness of their love. For in the sweet embrace of her intimacy, he finds a sense of belonging, a feeling that their union is ordained by the gods themselves. Her body, a symphony of curves and whispers, responds to his touch with an eagerness that defies all doubt. With each tender thrust, her back arches in sweet surrender, her wetness captivating. Her legs, like petals of a flower, unfold to welcome him, inviting him to disappear within her depths. And when he withdraws, her sore muscles tighten, as if reluctant to release him from her embrace. In this sweet dance of love, he finds solace, a sense of homecoming that defies all rational thought.

And just as he prepares to whisper his deepest desires, Zelda anticipates his every word, her voice a sultry whisper that weaves a spell over him. “Serve me for all eternity,” she breathes, her words a velvet-shackled command that binds him her will. For a fleeting instant, he hesitates, his heart trembling like a leaf in the maelstrom of his emotions. Then, with a surrender that is both defeat and triumph, he sanctions to her dominion, sinking deeper into the sweet abyss of her lovely hole. His fingers twine in her tresses, pulling her head back with a gentle ferocity, her lips parting reveal the red flesh within. She bites his lip, a crimson kiss that seals their pact, as he drinks in the heady elixir of her submission.

His physique, a divine look to his to masculine strength, casts a shadow over her petite form, a reminder of the power that lies within his grasp. Yet, despite the disparity in their sizes, he wields his dominance with a gentle hand, a servant to her every whim. For in the depths of his soul, a singular desire burns bright: to surrender to her will, to offer himself as a vessel for her pleasure. His every fiber, every sinew, every scar, yearns to be hers, to be shaped by her touch, molded by her desire. And so, she shall command him, as she always has, for it is in his nature to submit, to bend like a reed in the wind, to stretch towards her like a supplicant towards the sun. For in this dance he finds his purpose, his raison d'être, his sweet surrender to the one who holds his heart in thrall.

And so, he orchestrates a symphony of sensation, striking that sweet spot with rhythmic precision, coaxing her body to crave him, to yearn for the union of their flesh. Her nails, like tiny talons, dig into his back, as her legs entwine his waist, a vice that holds him close. The crescendo of her pleasure builds, a chorus of delight that threatens to overflow, until he silences her with a kiss, a gentle shroud that muffles the lewd moans spilling from her lips. His palm, a gentle press, anchors her to the moment, as her eyes roll back in surrender, her body a canvas of pure abandon. His pretty girl, lost in the haze of pleasure, a vision of loveliness that fills his heart with pride and his soul with fire. And then, as if on cue, her lips part, a slack-jawed surrender to the ecstasy that consumes her. He claims her mouth with a sloppy, wet kiss, as drool trickles down her chin, and sweat drips from his brow, a repercussions to the heat that radiates between them. The air is heavy with anticipation, thick with the promise of release. And then, the telltale signs begin–her belly tightens, a drumhead of tension, as her mouth emits a long, keening whine, a primal announcement that she teeters off the cliff of pleasure. The sound sends shivers down his spine, a sight so prepossessing is beckons him deeper, into the depths of her desire.

And then, what makes her his magnum opus–the fat tears that well up in her eyes, wetting her lashes, and trickling down her cheeks like diamonds in the dim light. The pillow beneath her head darkens with the gentle rain of her emotions, as she begins to beg him to love her harder, her voice an irresistible whisper that fuels his desire. The sight is a masterpiece of vulnerability, a soft and perfect surrender that awakens the fire within him. He feels the heat spread through his abdomen, a slow burn that ignites his thighs, as he grasps her hips with a gentle ferocity, grounding into her with a passion that leaves her breathless. The air is sucked from her lungs in swift, sharp gasps, as he succeeds in satiating her deepest needs, their love a symphony of pleasure and surrender.

As she reaches the crescendo of pleasure, her body becomes a canvas of surrender, painted with the vibrant hues of organic bliss. Her form dissolves into his, like a single note blending with the symphony of the universe as she releases a torrent of passion, a sweet abandon that floods the senses. The mattress beneath them becomes a wet garden of delight, where the flowers of their love bloom in every color of the rainbow. He, too, succumbs to the rapture, his moans a symphony of joy, as he spills his hot cum into her, their limbs intertwined like the gentle braids of a willow tree. Her form, now a gentle chalice, welcomes every drop of his ardor, swallowing each offering with an eager, loving embrace, like a parched landscape drinking in the nourishing rains. In this moment, she is the embodiment of perfection, a masterpiece of love and surrender, crafted by the divine hands of desire.

They both breathe heavily for a long while. Spent at their sort of consummation, he turns his head to look at her, and her eyes are closed and her hair is sticking to her. She's sweaty and sticky, mostly his fault because he's covered in sweat. Still her licks her neck because she smells like him and sex. she shudders and opens her eyes to meet his. She's not sure when it occurred but the haze from the liquor was gone, and his eyes were clear and full of love. This was the man Zelda knows.

“Are you alright...?" The rough, sandpapery texture of his words, worn smooth by the trials of the day, seemed to vibrate with a deep, abiding worry. She murmured a soft assent, a mere whisper of sound, a gentle zephyr that rustled the leaves of his heart, as he pressed his lips to her forehead, a tender, benedictory kiss that sealed his devotion.

"You should eat," he urged, his words laced with a quiet, paternal solicitude, "you haven't eaten, and your body, like a parched garden, cries out for sustenance." But she, her fingers twining in his hair like a vine clinging to its trellis, shot back with a wry, teasing smile, "Nay, my love, you should eat. You have taxed your body sorely - the drill, the liquor, the purge, then of course our passion.”

His face, flushed like a pastel sunset, bespoke his anguish, as he whispered, "I'm ridiculous." She offered a gentle, knowing smile, "I know."

His voice cracked with remorse, "I'm sorry." Again, she reassured him, "I know." His hands, warm and gentle, rubbed her sides, as if seeking solace in her touch, as he stammered, "H-how are we going to do this...?"

The unspoken question hung in the air, like a challenge, a test of their love. She knew what he meant, the uncertainty, the fear, and she offered a beacon of hope, "You will forge a path to me, and I to you. I have faith in you, my love. I know you can do it.”

He nods, his eyes downcast, as if the weight of his thoughts threatens to consume him, "But...it's going to be..." His voice trails off, lost in the labyrinth of his own doubts. She senses the turmoil within him, and her words become a gentle breeze, soothing his soul,

"Link...I don't care what paths you take, what means you employ. I'll forgive you, thus, and thus, and thus. I'd never imprison you, my love, for I know that your heart, beats solely for me.”

His flinch is a spark that ignites a firestorm of resentment, and the room is suddenly heavy with the weight of unspoken truths, like a physical presence that crushes the air from their lungs. The shadows writhe and twist, like living serpents, as his gaze falls upon the sword that has drunk the blood of countless beasts, its blade etched with the memories of a thousand kills. Those insignificant monsters, with their garbled screams and feeble struggles, had been mere sacrifices to his fury, their bodies broken and discarded like shattered dolls. And now, his eyes burning with a fierce and feral intensity, he thinks: Ah, I'd unleash that fury again, I'd unchain the beast that lurks within me, and forge a path through the very flesh of those who dare to deny me, who chain me, who stand in my way. The room seems to darken, as if the light itself is being consumed by the abyss of his emotions, and the promise of carnage hangs heavy, like a palpable mist, in the air, waiting to be unleashed.

_____

He gazes upon them now with a mixture of perplexity and disdain, wondering why they cower before him as if they were superior beings, elevated above the insignificant creatures he has slaughtered with ease. Behold, the mortal throngs! Whose countenances bespeak a terror so profound, so soul-shattering, it left naught but a chasm of despair in its wake. Their optics, wide with fear's dark stain, drink in the specter of their own demise, as if the abyssal void that yawns before them has become the only reality they can comprehend. Their forms, erstwhile stalwart, now tremble like the pebbles before a quake, like fragile perception shattered by the cruel hand of fate. Do they fancy themselves exempt from the grim reaper's scythe, merely by virtue of their own self-aggrandizing decrees, their hubris a fleeting, fatal dream that vanishes like mist before the dawn? Alas, his ears remain deaf to their supplications, their plaintive cries lost in the void, swallowed by the abyss, as he stands unmoved, an unyielding monolith of fate, an unrelenting harbinger of darkness. And when, in their final, fleeting moments, the awful truth dawns upon their souls - that they are naught but fragile, ephemeral things, utterly powerless against the dark angel of death, whose wings beat with a merciless cadence - he shows them a mercy most cruel, a kindness that belies the depths of their despair, ending their lives with a swiftness that leaves no time for regrets, only the cold, dark kiss of oblivion.

Do they not comprehend that he is the very embodiment of the divine, an angelic instrument of her will, a sacred vessel for the expression of her boundless power? A filthy, wretched sinner , yet one who has stood by her side through every moment, every trial, every triumph, a constant companion in the grand tapestry of her design. She, in her infinite wisdom, forgives his transgressions, and thus, he is absolved, his soul washed clean by the tears of the blessed. But these baboons, with their feeble morals and shallow understanding, dare cry out "unholy, unholy, unholy" at his every sin, their petty condemnations mere whispers in the winds of time. How little they grasp the true nature of his crusade, the majestic sweep of his mission, the terrible beauty of his holy war. For in their final moments, as they tremble before him, they realize too late that they have become the very monsters he has sworn to vanquish, their own darkness reflected back at them in the perfect  mirror of his unyielding resolve. He is the hero, the bringer of peace through the fiery crucible of violence, the hammer that shapes the anvil of destiny. His hands, fate-ordained to bear the blood of every enemy who dares threaten her, have never been stayed by the weak constraints of morality, for he is the instrument of her wrath, the lamb of salvation through destruction. And yet, the blind masses forget this truth, failing to behold the beauty in the terrible symmetry of his mission, the grand design that unfolds like has been birthed of blood and fire.

His hands, stained crimson as the very gates of perdition, bear the proof to the uncounted multitudes who have fallen beneath his blade, their lifeblood anointing his fingers with a grisly benediction that consecrates his crusade. The blood of thousands upon thousands has sanctified his touch, a dark sacrament that initiates him into the mysteries of destruction. Humans, once mere abstractions, have never been sacrosanct to him; their lives, mere whispers in the winds of fate, ephemeral and insignificant. Yet, he stayed his hand, for she, his resplendent goddess, beheld beauty even in the lowliest of creatures, her kindness a radiant sun that illuminated the darkest recesses of his soul. And he, a devoted supplicant, followed her gentle guidance, his heart a vessel of unyielding vespers. But now, she has bestowed upon him a terrible permission, a divine mandate to eradicate every threat to their love, a sacred charge that unleashes a maelstrom of vengeance upon the world. The boundaries of his mercy, once tenuous, have been sundered, revealing a chasm of unyielding ferocity that promises to consume all in its path. His heart, a vessel of unyielding fanaticism, beats solely for her, his every action a letter to the unyielding ferocity of his love, a love that has become a force of nature, ebullient and unrelenting.

He whispers sweet contrition into the tender hollow of her neck, his hands, those instruments of mortal extermination, now gentle as cotton upon her skin. And she, his radiant goddess, purifies him with a touch, a glance, a whispered promise, her presence a sanctifying fire that burns away the dross of his doubts and fears. Oh, how resplendent she is, a luminous star that guides him through the darkest depths of his own soul, illuminating the labyrinth of his heart, and revealing the hidden chambers of his deepest desires. Thus, he feels no sting of guilt, no pangs of remorse, for he has done nothing amiss, his actions mere reflections of the divine will that drives him. This is his sacred purpose, his raison d'être: to serve her, to love her, to be her razor's edge, honed to perfection, cutting through the veil of deceit and illusion, a bond that transcends mortal comprehension. And now, he sees the truth: his thirst for wine was but a pale imitation of his true craving, his addiction to her, his goddess, his everything, the source of his salvation and his damnation. The rich, bold flavors of the grape, a feeble substitute for the ambrosial taste of her lips, the nectar that sustains him, body and soul, a love that is both his redemption and his ruin.

And thus, he presents his latest offering to his goddess, the lifeless corpse of the loathsome maid who had dared to intrude upon their sacred lovemaking within the castle walls, a sacrilegious trespass that had sealed her fate. The very same tattling crone who had beheld him in the throes of passion, his body entwined with that of his beloved, their love a flame that had burned too bright for her mortal eyes to behold. Her feeble heart, now stilled by the swift and merciful thrust of his blade, had ceased its incessant prattling, a cacophony of gossip and malice that had grown tiresome to his ears. He had deemed her tolerable, insofar as her existence had been a mere trifle, a momentary distraction from the all-consuming passion that drove him. And so, he had ended her life with a swift stab to the heart, a coup de grâce that had spared her the agony of a lingering demise, a mercy that only he, in his boundless holiness, could have bestowed. With reverent hands, he closes her sightless eyes, and whispers a solemn prayer:

"May the goddess have mercy upon thy soul, and may thy essence be reborn into a realm where thy tedious voice shall trouble us no more, where thy presence shall no longer profane the sacred bond that we share."

The populace trembles with trepidation, beset on all sides by the sinister specter of unexplained murders and unaccounted disappearances, a maelstrom of terror that threatens to consume them whole. They cry out in desperation, invoking the darkest incantations of witchcraft, monstrous visitations, and nefarious villainy, their minds reeling with the horrors that lurk in every shadow. And yet, in their darkest hour, they turn to him, their erstwhile champion, their supposed bulwark against the shadows, the very one who has sworn to protect them from the forces of darkness. How he struggles to stifle the mirth that rises within him, a wicked glee that threatens to betray his mask of solemnity, for he knows the terrible truth: that she, his goddess, is the very architect of this carnage, the unseen hand that weaves the tapestry of fear and death with threads of blood and silk. And he, her faithful instrument, her avatar of wrath, is the one who brings her dark designs to fruition, the scalpel that excises the cancer of humanity, the purging fire that burns away the dross of society. Ah, the irony that besets them all! For in their ignorance, they decry the very one who rids them of the dregs of society, the foul and the corrupt, the vermin that infest their midst, the parasites that suck the life from their veins. Little do they know, he is their unseen benefactor, their guardian angel of darkness, who purges their world of the unworthy, that she, his goddess, may reign supreme over a realm of beauty and terror, a kingdom of shadows where only the worthy shall thrive.

God works in mysterious ways.

Yet, he should not covet her, nor slay her betrothed, but fate has ordained otherwise, weaving a tapestry of destiny that binds them together in a dance of death and desire. For the suitor stands in the way of their love, a barrier that must be removed, a stumbling block that obstructs the path to their abberent bliss. She implores him, her voice a gentle breeze that fans the flames of his passion, a soft whisper that ignites a firestorm of longing within his soul, to act soon, to strike down the obstacle that separates them, to clear the way for their love to flourish. A mere month remains until the offending wedding, a deadline that sets his heart aflame with anticipation, a countdown to the moment when he shall unleash his wrath upon the unsuspecting suitor. He vows to act, his lips, still stained with the blood of his previous victims, meeting hers in a kiss that seals their dark pact, a bond of blood and lust that cannot be broken. She licks his hands clean, her tongue a soft caress that sends shivers down his spine, a gesture that belies the brutality of their desires, and then, she cleanses his mouth with her own, a kiss that purifies and profanes, a sacrament of their love. He whispers sweet nothings, "Soon, soon," his mind ablaze with the myriad ways he shall destroy the hapless suitor, a canvas of cruelty upon which he shall paint his masterpiece of murder. And then, it comes to him, a plan of such diabolical brilliance that he cannot help but touch himself, a gesture of awe at his own sick genius, for she shall be pleased, nay, ecstatic, at the sacrifice he shall make for her, a offering of blood and flesh that shall secure their love forever.

And thus, he approached Duke Eran with a countenance serene and untroubled, his visage a mask of holy innocence and noble intent, a masterpiece of deception crafted to beguile and deceive. His voice, a low, melodious whisper, bespoke a soul untouched by the shadows that lurked within, a facade of tranquility that concealed the mire of his heart. "Your Highness desires an audience," he said, his words dripping with deference and respect, a honeyed sweetness that coated the venom of his true intentions. Duke Eran, oblivious to the darkness that stood before him, though it was because Link was too bright, therefore he smiled and acquiesced with a trusting naivety, his eyes unwary and unguarded, like a pig led to the slaughter, unaware of the fate that awaited him. Little did he suspect that the man who stood before him, with a voice so soft and raspy, like a white cloud that hid the lightning within, was in truth a prelude of doom, a messenger of the abyss, come to usher him into the very depths of perdition, a guide on the journey to his own damnation.

As they descended deeper into the castle's bowels, the torches casting flickering shadows upon the walls like restless spirits, Duke Eran couldn't help but feel a sense of trepidation creeping over him, a creeping dread that seeped into his bones like a chill. The stairs, a winding path into the very depths of the fortress, seemed to lead them further and further from the warmth of the sun, into a realm of cold, unforgiving darkness, a place where the light of reason and sanity faltered. And yet, he said nothing, for who was he to question the whims of the princess, the enigmatic and mysterious mistress of this foreboding keep? They arrived at a door, hidden away in the labyrinthine corridors like a secret, and Link pushed it open with a quietly. The room beyond was a cold, barren cell, lit only by the faint glow of torches, and dominated by a single, ornate chair, a throne that seemed to hold court over the shadows. She sat upon it, her drink in hand, a smile playing upon her lips like a whispered secret, a hint of mysteries and pleasures that lay beyond the reach of mortal men. Duke Eran greeted her with his usual deference, but his eyes narrowed as he beheld the way Link approached her, his movements almost...devotional, like a supplicant before an altar. The way he knelt at her feet, his head bowed in submission, and the way her hands combed through his hair with an intimacy that spoke of secrets shared and passions unleashed, a bond that promised to go far beyond the bounds of mere loyalty or duty. A spark of unease ignited within the duke's breast, a growing sense of disquiet that something was amiss in this forsaken place, a feeling that he was but a pawn in a game whose rules he did not understand.

As he beheld the tableau before him, Duke Eran's mind recoiled in dismay, for the scene was strange, nay, unnatural, a surreal landscape that defied the conventions of courtly love and chivalry. And yet, as he gazed upon her radiant smile, all trepidation seemed to melt away, like mist before the morning sun, leaving him entranced and bewitched. She extended her hand, a regal gesture, and Link, that enigmatic figure, hastened to kiss it with a fervor that bordered on the devout, his lips lingering upon her skin with a caress that spoke of secrets shared and passions unleashed. His eyes, aglow with adoration, seemed to burn with an inner fire, a flame that illuminated the dark recesses of his soul, and revealed the depths of his devotion. And then, his gaze fell upon the ring that adorned her finger, a symbol of betrothal, yet not the duke's own, a token of a promise made to another. A pang of disquiet stirred within him, a sense of unease which would upset the fragile balance of his emotions, yet he felt no urge to protest, no desire to assert his claim, for in that moment, he knew himself to be naught but a mere spectator, a witness to a drama that unfolded beyond his comprehension, a pawn in a game whose rules he could hardly begin to grasp.

Zelda's throat cleared, a gentle, melodic sound, like the soft tinkling of a crystal chime, and Link's gaze, a fervent, worshipful thing, rose to meet hers, his eyes shining. A picture of eager anticipation, seemed to bespeak a deep longing, a yearning to be rewarded, like a faithful hound awaiting the lovely touch of its master's hand, its tail wagging in excited expectation. And then, her glance, a fleeting, imperious gesture, danced across the room, alighting upon the duke, who, sensing the weight of her regard, hastened to rise, his movements the will to the unseen power she wielded, a power that seemed to bend reality to her whim. Link, a tall, dark figure, faced him, his face a mask of polite deference, yet his eyes, narrowed, ever so slightly, betrayed a glimmer of excitement, a hint of elation that threatened to upset the delicate balance of the moment, a moment that hung suspended, like a ripe fruit, ready to be plucked by the goddess's hand.

Link approached Duke Eran with a deliberate slowness, his hand resting upon the hilt of his sword, the leather wrapping worn and familiar beneath his fingers. The duke, beholding the instrument of his demise, should have trembled with fear, yet his soul remained eerily serene, as if death itself had become a welcome guest, a long-awaited friend who would finally bring an end to his suffering. For in Link's gaze, he beheld not the fierce visage of a slayer, but the gentle, ethereal beauty of perfect blue eyes and golden tresses, a vision that seemed to mesmerize rather than terrify. And then, with a tender, almost loving gesture, Link raised his sword, its tip kissing the duke's stomach with a whispered promise of destruction, a gentle caress that belied the deadly intent behind it. The duke's eyes, frozen upon Link's, betrayed no hint of terror, no tremor of fear, and it was this eerie calm that seemed most unsettling of all, a sense of resignation that was both fascinating and repellent. Link's whisper, a soft, melodious benediction, caressed the duke's ear:

"May the goddess have mercy on thy soul,"

A prayer that seemed to hold a deep sincerity, a sense of reverence that was both captivating and unnerving. And with that, the sword slid home, a swift, merciless stroke. The steel blade, a cold, unforgiving serpent, sank deep into the duke's flesh, its razor-sharp edge slicing through warm, vital tissue with a deadly precision, a merciless efficiency that seemed to revel in the destruction it wrought. A crimson tide, a river of life, burst forth from the wound, a ghastly parody of birth, as blood spilled from his lips and splattered upon the floor with a wet patter, a rhythmic cadence that seemed to mock the very notion of mortality. A maddening, creeping sensation, a ghastly tickle, spread through his frame, as if a thousand icy fingers danced upon his skin, leaving naught but numbness and despair in their wake, a chilling embrace that seemed to seep into his very marrow. And yet, the duke, lost in a haze of agony, remained oblivious to the true extent of his fate, unaware that the sword, that needle of his demise, had pierced him completely, a mortal, irreversible blow that had sundered his very essence, a blow that had shattered the fragile thread of life and sent his soul tumbling into the abyss. The room seemed to darken, as if the very shadows themselves were closing in to claim him, and the duke's vision began to blur.

Link withdrew the sword, its blade now a deep, bloody crimson, like the sacred lance that pierced the side of the divine, and beheld the duke's lifeless form crumple to the floor with a sickening, wet thud, like a fallen idol, its limbs splayed in a grotesque crucifixion. With a detached, almost sacramental gesture, he shook the sword, casting off the excess blood with a motion akin to a priest shaking the cruets, the droplets flying off like holy water in a baptism of red. And yet, even in death, the duke's gaze remained transfixed upon Link, his eyes frozen in a beatific fascination, as if beholding the dark, avenging angel of the Lord, a holy terror who brought judgment and destruction upon the wicked. The scene was one of eerie, surreal calm, like a wicked Pieta, with Link, the instrument of divine wrath, standing tall, his sword still trembling with the force of the blow, his countenance a mask of serene, untroubled righteousness, a portrait of deadly zeal. The air was heavy with the scent of blood and steel, a noxious incense that clung to Link's skin like a shroud, and the silence was oppressive, punctuated only by the soft, wet sound of the duke's life slipping away, like a soul departing the mortal coil.

Link, consumed by a frenzied, bloodthirsty fervor, his mind a maelstrom of primal, visceral urges, seized his sword once more, its blade still slick with the duke's lifeblood, like a carnivore's fang, stained with the crimson essence of its prey. He plunged the steel into the duke's stomach, the force of the blow unleashing a crimson geyser, a fountain of flesh and blood that splattered the air, like a butcher's block, where the very meat of life was torn asunder. The blood, a scalding, scarlet deluge, drenched Link's face, a gruesome, ritualistic baptism, as if he were a demonic acolyte feasting on the very essence of life, his skin slick with the warm, sticky liquid, like a newborn awash in the birthing fluids of existence. His eyes, blazing with an unholy, bestial light, seemed to devour the sight, as if the slaughter had unleashed a maelstrom of primal, visceral ecstasy within him, a torrent of unbridled, savage joy. The air reeked of death, a noxious, palpable stench, heavy with the weight of mortality, as the duke's life force ebbed away, a pitiful, gurgling whisper, like a slaughtered animal's final, futile struggle, a sound that echoed through the chambers of Link's mind, a haunting, ghostly refrain, that beckoned him deeper, into the abyss of his own madness.

With a ferocious, almost ritualistic fervor, Link ripped open the duke's shirt, exposing the bloody, mangled flesh beneath, like a dark flower blooming in the garden of his madness. His eyes, aglow with a morbid fascination, devoured the sight of the viscera, the ugly, pulsing mass of red, like a sacramental feast, laid bare before him. With a precision born of madness, he opened the abdominal cavity, his hands moving with a surgeon's skill, yet driven by a ghastly, inhuman purpose, a purpose that seemed to revel in the sheer, visceral horror of his actions. The duke, miraculously still clinging to life, began to groan, his body wracked by spasms, as he vomited forth great gouts of blood, like a fountain of life force ebbing away, a gruesome, crimson tide that seemed to jeer the very notion of mortality. Link, oblivious to the duke's agony, delved deeper, his hands burrowing into the abdominal cavity with a childlike, savage glee, tearing asunder the organs, like a ravenous beast devouring its prey, his fingers moving with a frenzied, almost joyful abandon, as if reveling in the sheer, visceral horror of his actions. The air was heavy with the stench of death, the silence shattered only by the duke's anguished cries, and the wet, tearing sounds of Link's hands, as he ripped forth each organ, like a dark, corrupted harvest, a ghastly, inhuman reaping of life itself. And in that moment, Link was the very embodiment of madness, a monstrous, visceral force, driven by a hunger for destruction, a hunger that would consume all in its path.

As Link's hands moved with a surgical precision, the sounds of the duke's body being ripped apart filled the air, a ghastly symphony of horror that had been orchestrated by the very depths of madness. The soft, wet tearing of flesh, the gentle, crunching of bone, like the snapping of twigs in a forest, and the sickening, squelching of organs being torn from their moorings, like the moist, sucking sound of a dark, primal quicksand, created a cacophony of terror. Link's face, a mask of serene, untroubled calm, almost detached from the carnage he wrought, a stark, unsettling contrast to the unholy fervor that burned within his eyes, like lanterns in the dark. His mouth, a thin, lipless line, frozen in a grimace of intense, almost sexual pleasure, as if the very act of destruction had unleashed a dark, primal ecstasy within him, a pleasure that was only heightened by her watchful gaze. And it was not simply the blood on his face that made his cheeks flush with a rosaceous glow, but the sheer, visceral thrill of the slaughter itself, a thrill that coursed through his veins like a dark, intoxicating drug.

With a butcher's precision, Link's hands plunged into the duke's chest cavity, his fingers closing around the liver like a meat hook. He ripped it free with a savage, tearing sound, the organ coming away with a wet, slapping plop, like a freshly slaughtered carcass hitting the block. The liver quivered in his hand, a crimson, pulsing mass, as he held it aloft like a gruesome trophy. Next, his hands closed around the heart, his fingers wrapping around it like a slaughterer's grip. He tore it free with a crunching, ripping sound, the organ bursting forth from the chest cavity like a bloody, pulsing flower, its petals unfolding like a Baccara bloom. The lungs were next, Link's hands closing around them—a vice, a merciless, unyielding grip. He tore them free with a gross, tearing sound, like ribs soft off the bone, the organs coming away with a sickening, squelching sound.

As Link approached the goddess, his once-majestic Imperial Guard attire now hung in tattered, crimson-stained disarray, like a battle standard ravaged by the unforgiving fury of war. The fabric absorbed the blood, its dark, imperial hue deepening to an almost blackish crimson, as if the garments had been steeped in the duke's life force, now forever tainted by the essence of death. His gloves, once a pristine white, now glistened with a wet, rubescent sheen, like the flayed skin of a freshly slaughtered beast, exposed to the merciless whims of fate. The supple leather now hinted to have taken on a life of its own, as if it had been anointed with the duke's vital fluid, now forever bound to the gruesome spectacle. His boots, once polished to a high, mirror-like shine, now bore the ghastly, splattered imprint of the duke's blood, like a gross sigil, seared into the very leather itself, a grim testament to the ritual that had transpired. The blood appeared to have penetrated the very pores of the material, leaving an indelible mark, a haunting reminder of the carnage that had unfolded.

With a gesture both reverent and grotesque, Link deposited the pile of bloody tissue next to the goddess, the sound of its impact a disgusting, slapping thud, a ghastly, meaty slap that echoed through the chamber like a dark, maledictory benediction, a visceral blessing that seemed to consecrate the very air itself. The goddess, her eyes aglow with an holy, almost otherworldly light, gazed upon the offering, her face a mask of almost lovely contentment, a, beatific smile playing upon her lips, the wind rustling the petals of nightshade, its beauty belied by the poisonous venom that lurked within. She raised her wine glass, the liquid within almost gone, a mere, crimson-hued residue clinging to the crystal, like the last, dying ember of a once-roaring fire, a flickering, ruby-red glow that appeared to pulse with a malevolent life of its own. Link was the embodiment of her every desire, the instrument of her most depraved, most sinister will. The air thickened, heavy with the weight of her gaze.

As Link drew nearer, his heart swelled with a tumultuous tide of emotions, a maelstrom of excitement and trepidation. The goddess's gesture, a gentle, beckoning motion, summoned him closer, like a siren's call, irresistible and deadly, a lure that promised both salvation and destruction. He obeyed, his breath catching in his throat like a wild bird in a gilded cage, its wings beating fiercely against the bars, as he leaned in, his face inches from hers, their lips almost touching, like the sangria petals of a rose, poised on the brink of a forbidden, fatal bloom. The metallic tang of blood and sweat hung heavy on his skin, a primal, intoxicating scent that drew her in, like a moth to the flame, helpless and ensnared, a willing sacrifice to the dark, devouring passion that burned within her. Their lips met in a fierce, almost savage kiss, Link's desperation for her approval, her affection, palpable in the urgent, seeking pressure of his mouth, like a shipwrecked sailor clinging to the rocky shore of her favor, a fragile, flickering lifeline in a sea of darkness and despair. The world around them melted away, leaving only the two of them, lost in a vortex of passion and destruction, their lips locked in a kiss.

His knees buckled, his legs trembling beneath him, like a leaf torn asunder by the autumnal gale, leaving him weak, vulnerable, and utterly at her mercy, a supplicant before the altar of her desire, a willing sacrifice to the dark, devouring passion that burned within her. The taste of wine lingered on her lips, a heady, intoxicating flavor that seared itself into his very soul, like a branding iron marking its territory, a burning, indelible stamp that claimed him as her own. He couldn't let go, couldn't tear himself away, until she gently pushed him back, her hands on his chest a gentle, restraining pressure, like, a soft, whispery caress that belied the fierce, unyielding power that lay beneath. Link's eyes, fuzzy, unfocused, swimming in a sea of crimson, his vision blurred, as if he were drunk on the very essence of her being, lost in the labyrinthine corridors of her heart, a maze of twisted desires and dark, forbidden passions. His breath came in ragged gasps, his chest heaving, like a bellows fanning the flames of a fire—a conflagration of desire and madness that seemed to rage out of control.

And then, her hands, soft, gentle, cradled his face, like a mother lovingly holding her newborn babe, her touch a whispered promise of comfort and protection, a soothing balm that calmed the tempests that raged within him. Her whisper, a husky, sweet benediction, "Good boy," reverberated deep within his chest, a warm, golden light that spread, tingling, through every fiber of his being, like the first, tentative rays of dawn breaking over the horizon, a new beginning, a fresh start, a chance to redeem himself in her eyes. The words themselves were a gentle, lapping wave, caressing the shores of his soul, soothing the savage beasts that lurked within, taming the feral heart that beat within his chest. Her breath, a sweet, perfumed zephyr, danced across his skin, leaving a trail of goosebumps in its wake, as if the very essence of her being was awakening a part of him that had long lain dormant, a part that only she could reach, only she could touch.

His eyes, closed in rapt devotion, shut out the world, leaving only the sensation of her lips, soft, inviting, and deadly, like the kiss of a viper, a treacherous caress that seemed to draw the very life force from his being. The room, the world, the very universe itself, faded away, leaving only the two of them, lost in a sea of crimson, their lips locked in a kiss that was both prayer and profanity, a sacred, sinful union that would defy the very laws of nature.

As their lips met hers once more, Link's whisper was a soft, fervent plea, a desperate supplication to the goddess, his voice barely audible over the pounding of his own heart, a heart that beat only for her, a heart that was hers to command, hers to control.
