Chapter 1: The incident

Chapter Text

Regina George had never been particularly turned on by men. In fact, she wasn't even really sure she liked them all that much. She couldn't find it within herself to hold that against them, though, Afterall, there were only a short list of things that she did like. To name them, the color pink, designer clothes, Avril Lavigne, confident people, high-school drama, and (she saved the best for last) control. That was her real turn on, whether it be in the form of inciting public fear, her perfectly selected minions - Karen and Gretchen - her diligently portioned meals, or even her boy toys.

That, Regina decided, was the true purpose of having a boyfriend. Although boys had few (if any) qualities she deemed likeable, they were dumb. And horny. That made them easy to control. Boys were like the equivalent of a lap dog, They sat by her heel and looked pretty (simultaneously making every other girl jealous, and re-affirming her position as Northshore's queen bee) and they were always too confused and enamored to question her. Take Aaron Samuels for example - he told Regina she was pretty, he drove her around, he bought her expensive jewelry and fancy dinners she never finished. On paper, he was perfect.

The downside, of course, were moments like these.

Currently, Regina was laying on her back in her queen sized bed, with a sweaty Aaron Samuels in between her legs. He had finished roughly five seconds after eagerly shoving his dick inside of her, and had offered to eat her out to make up for it.

As if she didn't fake it every time, anyways.

Nonetheless, Regina figured if she didn't let him, his ego would never recover, so she lied on her back and stared at the ceiling while Aaron clumsily swirled his tongue around a spot he had mistaken for her clit.

"Aaron," Regina snapped after releasing a hitched breath. He looked up at her with confused eyes as she sat upright. "You're slobbering all over me," she gave him a strained, threatening smile.

"Sorry, sorry," he apologized, gesturing for her to lie back down as he buried his head between her legs once again.

Regina did so with a sigh. She would give him three minutes before delivering her performance.

Her thoughts began to wander out of boredom, as Aaron set into new rhythm. Aaron was worse than Shane Omen, but not by much. In tenth grade Regina had been with a boy named Ian - he was the worst by a mile. As Regina scrutinized all of her sexual experiences, comparing them against each other, an unwanted memory popped into her head.

In most cases, a person's first time is far off from their best, but Regina was the exception to that rule.

She was in eighth grade, she had been hot to the touch and biting her bottom lip as hard as she could so that she wouldn't wake her parents in the next room over. She remembered she'd been blushing, and trembling, feeling so much she couldn't even think.

"Is this okay?" Janis had whispered into her ear.

At the memory of her voice, even Aaron's pathetic attempt at oral felt, miraculously, kind of good.

Regina's eyes shot wide open, and that good feeling morphed in to a new one of disgust, weighing heavily on her chest. She was pushing Aaron off of her the next second.

"Baby, what's wrong?" he was asking, taken by surprise.

"What's wrong is that you suck at this," she spat.

Aaron's face sunk into an unmistakable expression of hurt (an expression she'd caused many times throughout her life). "Oh my god, just leave, please," she ordered, and just like that he was gathering his things.

The time in Regina's life when she had considered Janis Ian her best friend brought her a lot of complicated emotions. Mostly embarrassment. Janis Ian didn't wear pink, or designer clothing; quite on the contrary, she paraded around the school dressed like a complete abomination. Janis Ian had no power or social influence, most of the school didn't know her by name, (and if they did, it was thanks to a nasty rumor - one Regina herself had started.) Worst of all, Janis Ian made Regina feel completely and entirely out of control, and she hated it.

So, she blocked out all memories of them giggling, running through the halls, whispering gossip to each other in the middle of class, sleepovers where they'd paint each other's nails, all the times they "practiced" making out for boys, She blocked out the memory of the two of them sitting face to face on Regina's bed, after Janis had kissed her especially slow, like she was carefully soaking Regina up with each kiss, before Regina had locked eyes with her best friend, feeling especially vulnerable, and asked her to take off her shirt.

Regina especially tried not to think about that night, but, it happened, from time to time. She told herself it didn't matter. Regina had been a completely different person, and so had Janis. Regina was just young and confused, it was just practice for boys. Maybe Janice was okay with being a total lesbo, but Regina wasn't like that.

Despite her consoling affirmations, thoughts of Janice never went unpunished. Regina didn't eat for the rest of the day

At school, Regina sat with Gretchen, Karen, and Cady for lunch.

"Where's Aaron?" Cady had asked. Regina rolled her eyes. He hadn't spoken to her since the incident over the weekend, and now he was apparently avoiding her at lunch. He could be so sensitive sometimes.

"I don't know, probably with his dumb friends," she told cady sourly.

"Oh," Cady replied simply, but she was giving Regina a strange look.

"Why do you care? You're not still, like, in love with him, are you?" She added, a little louder than she needed to, and watched Cady's cheeks flush in embarrassment.

"What? No. Of course not" Cady stammered.

"Good, cuz' that'd be pretty messed up, you know, as my friend." Cady nodded in agreement.

It might not be obvious, but, Regina actually liked Cady. She may have had an egregious taste in fashion, and come across as a little spineless, but she was smart, and pretty, and moldable. Fresh meat.

As lunch continued, Gretchen gossiped while Karen butted in with a stupid comment every now and then, triggering a laugh from Cady.

Regina found herself watching Janis, a couple tables over with the art freaks. This wasn't uncommon for Regina. Despite her distaste for the girl, she couldn't deny that she was certainly entertaining. Janis' humor was loud, and unrestrained. Regina couldn't hear the whole of their conversations, but every once in a while Janis would shout some obscenity, strange and nonsensical out of context, over to her friend (The gay one). She would flail her hands around madly when she was talking about something that got her fired up, and her face was always animated with some expression or another. It was her eyes, Regina concluded, that made her look so expressive. They were so big and green, and her choice of makeup made them pop even more. Involuntary shivers ran down Regina's spine, and she shook the thought away. It had been a long time since Regina had thought about Janis' eyes, but it was a familiar sentiment that made her feel a bit dizzy.

Regina's train of thought was (thankfully) interrupted when she noticed Aaron Samuels approaching her table with a tray in hand.

"Look who finally decided to show up," she smiled at him.

"Hi, Regina," he said plainly. He greeted the rest of her friends too, looking a little more pleasant while addressing Cady, turning Regina's smile bitter. "Do you think we could talk?" he asked when he turned to face Regina again.

Regina placed her fork down and folded her arms neatly on the table. "Sure, what do you wanna talk about," she smiled.

"Uhm, could we go somewhere more private?'' he asked.

With a huff, Regina stood up and Aaron pulled her gently by the arms - they only made it a couple inches away from the table before Regina brushed his arm off of her. "Aaron please I don't have time for this, lunch ends in ten, What do you want to talk about?" she repeated again, with less patience this time.

Aaron hesitated, looking around the cafeteria to make sure no one was watching them, but of course, everybody was. He spoke in a hushed voice, "look, what you said the other day? It kind of hurt my feelings."

"It hurt your feelings?” Regina repeated mockingly, "Relax Aaron, I was just tired okay?''

"Yeah that's not what it felt like," Aaron shook his head. "If you weren't enjoying what we were- look there are just nicer ways to say that okay? Then maybe you could tell me how to make it better and I could fix it," he argued in a whisper.

"You need my help with that? Maybe try not coming in the first two seconds," Regina questioned. She was not whispering.

"yeah but it's not just that, you seem to just- not be enjoying it lately."

"Lately?" she scoffed.

There it was again, that hurt expression, now mixed with a new expression of embarrassment, probably not helped by the fact that people were listening now, and they were whispering.

"Regina.. you always said it was great, I don't understand," even his voice was raised now, he had let his emotions get the best of him.

"Yeah, well I also told you I lost my virginity to you, sometimes I lie to spare your feelings, sue me."

Regina regretted the words as soon as they left her mouth.

Not because they had hurt Aaron (who was now storming out of the cafeteria) but because she had blurted out a secret she was planning on carrying to her grave. It was basically public knowledge that she had lost her virginity to Aaron - that's how she wanted it, needed it, to cover her tracks, and because she wanted to believe it, to forget all about the girl who had really taken it, and how much Regina had liked it.

The cafeteria was stunned into silence. There was no doubt everyone had heard. Regina's heart was beating into her throat when she instinctively looked over her shoulder to steal a glance at Janis.

Janis was staring right back, eyebrows raised, with her huge, curious green eyes .

Regina quickly looked away.

She puffed out her chest, and forced herself to hold her head up high, before sitting back down at her usual table. "Anyways," she resumed, and on her cue, the entire cafeteria fell back into rhythm.
