Work Text:

We could leave the Christmas lights up ‘til January, and this is our place, we make the rules. And there’s a dazzling haze, a mysterious way about you dear. Have I known you 20 seconds or 20 years?

“Do you want to take down the Christmas lights, ‘Tsumu? I mean, it’s already January,” asked Sakusa looking over at Atsumu, who was sitting beside him.

“We can leave the Christmas lights up ‘til January, Omi. This is our place, we make the rule,” answered Atsumu, looking back over at Sakusa. And if Sakusa agreed because of the way the lights made Atsumu’s eyes dazzle, well then, no one has to know.

Atsumu always thought there was something mysterious about Sakusa, it was like he had only known him for 20 seconds, but 20 years at the same time.

Can I go where you go? Can we always be this close forever and ever?

Atsumu and Sakusa first met each other at the All-Japan training camp, and once again at the inter-high finals, when their teams went up against each other. Of course, there had been a few run-ins after that, but nothing that big. But then he started to run into Atsumu more. So when Sakusa applied for the MSBY Black Jackals, he was surprised and relieved to see Atsumu’s name. Then, they both got onto Japan’s National team. Atsumu became a constant in Sakusa’s life. He couldn’t help but want it to last forever.

And ah, take me out, take me home. You’re my, my, my, my, Lover.

Sakusa could still remember their first date. It wasn’t really a date, more of Atsumu telling Sakusa to get food with him after practice. And, instead of heading back to the dorms after dates, they head to their home, together. Sakusa still doesn’t believe that he has the privilege of being Atsumu’s lover.

We could let our friends crash in the living room, this is our place, we make the call.

“Hey is it okay if Samu and Rin come over for the night?” Atsumu asked Sakusa. It had been a while since he had last seen his brother because he had been so busy with practice and Osamu ran an entire restaurant. So there wasn’t much time for them to meet up with each other.

“Yeah, that’s fine. Remember, this is our place ‘Tsumu, we make the calls,” answered Sakusa with a smile. Sakusa knew Atsumu hadn’t seen his brother in a while, so he didn’t care if they crashed in the living room, plus it would be nice to see Suna again.

And I’m highly suspicious that everyone who sees you wants you, I’ve loved you three summers now, honey, but I want ‘em all. Can I go where you go? Can we always be this close forever and ever? And ah, take me out, and take me home (forever and ever) you’re my, my, my, my, lover.

It was Atsumu and Sakusa’s 3-year anniversary, and Sakusa was planning to propose to Atsumu after they ate. He knows 3 years is a little early, but he sees the way Atsumu’s fans look at him, and Sakusa doesn’t think anyone could ever get him the way Atsumu does. So, here in the park, as the sun was setting, Sakusa got down on one knee and said, “Atsumu, I love you, I’ve loved you three summers, but I want them all. I can’t imagine myself being with anyone else. I want to go wherever you go, I want to be this close forever and ever. I want to take you out on dates for no reason, I want to take you home, to our home, after every practice, and anything after that, forever and ever. I want you to be my lover, and I don’t want that to change. So. will you marry me, Atsumu Miya?” Sakusa finished with tears shining in his eyes, the same emotion reflected on Atsumu’s face.

“I love you so much, and yer an idiot if you think I’d want anyone else,” said Atsumu with a wet chuckle. “Is that a yes?” asked Sakusa with a smirk. “Yes, yes I’ll marry ‘ya Sakusa Kiyoomi,” Atsumu answered with tears of joy now falling down his face. He was lifted off his feet by Sakusa as he twirled him around in the air while laughing, and the same tears of joy on his cheeks.

Ladies and gentlemen, will you please stand? With every guitar string scar on my hand, I take this magnetic force of a man to be my lover. My heart’s been borrowed and yours has been blue, all’s well that ends well to end up with you. Swear to be overdramatic and true to my lover. And you’ll save all your dirtiest jokes for me, and at every table, I’ll save you a seat, lover.

The guests all stood as Sakusa started his vows, “With every volleyball scar on my hand, I take this magnetic force of a man to be my lover.” Atsumu started, “My heart’s been borrowed and yours has been blue,” and just like he could read his mind Sakusa finished, “All’s well that ends well to end up with you.” With tears in his eyes and a wet smile, Atsumu said, “Swear to be overdramatic and true to my lover.” Sakusa smiled and rolled his eyes as he said, rather fondly, “And you’ll save all your dirtiest jokes for me, and at every table, I’ll save you a seat, lover.” They could both hear the priest talking, but nothing was registering, all they could focus on was each other, as if they were the only people in the world. They were pulled out of their trance when they heard the priest say, “You may now kiss the groom,” and they did. But they had to come up for air sooner or later. And, they had an after party to attend, with food made by a very special grey-haired twin, who also had a speech to give.

Can I go where you go? Can we always be this close forever and ever? And ah, take me out, and take me home (forever and ever)

They were married, it was official. They could be together forever and ever. And nothing would ever change that.

You're my, my, my, my. Oh, you're my, my, my, my. Darling, you're my, my, my, my. Lover
