Chapter Text
When Minho was very young, his parents sat him down to explain the red string of fate. It was straightforward. Every person was born with a red string tied around their finger with a certain amount of knots. The amount of knots indicated one’s life span. Minho himself had been blessed with many tight little knots on his string, which meant he would live a nice, long life. Everyone could only see their own red string. But out in the world, there existed people who could be a potential soulmate. By the will of the universe, if you were lucky enough to run into a potential soulmate and have the right interaction, you could trigger a moment – a moment where you and your potential soulmate would see each other’s red strings. The moment could really happen with anyone and be triggered by anything. Minho’s own parents were soulmates who had discovered their soulmate bond when they ran into each other on a busy street. On top of that, soulmates had the choice of being able to string-tie together, in which they could tie their red string together, connecting their souls. But to be honest, Minho didn’t pay much attention to that part. Sharing his soul with someone sounded a little much, and his little kid brain was a lot more interested in what was for dinner than all this soulmate business.
