Chapter Text
The world falls around them in an endless vision. Biomes and biomes, chunks and chunks. Structures and structures, and players and players that call them home. They all sit in a spiralling pool of ones and zeroes that would prove senseless to those who don’t know what they’re looking for. Admins and higher— whatever the case it’s made for their eyes, as they pull on magic and splay the world’s darkest secrets out in front of them. There is no hiding from something like that— all seeing.
But they don’t care for it. They sift through information with ease, because it’s foolish to go into these kinds of things blind. Everybody knows that, whether through memory or lived experience— everyone knows.
You do not watch blindly.
They don’t find what they’re looking for. Sometimes they wander if it would be easier if they weren’t living in such a half state of being. If they really, truly knew exactly what it is that they’re looking for, other than thoughts, and feeling and memories long gone, floating by with the worlds code but always out of reach. Sometimes they wander if it’s even out there at all, but giving up feels like failure and it’s hard— it’s hard to kill something so endless, so prevalent and powerful.
They feel like they should know that from experience too, but it’s not a thought they can follow any further as it tumbles away to get lost in the stream of code filling their mind.
Regardless, this world doesn’t provide itself useful. Their wings twitch, perhaps frustrated, or downtrodden or still feeling the sheer amount of magic shifting around their in veins but they wouldn’t know. Emotions are a distraction far beyond them right now and all they’re concerned with is the incessant feeling to leave. If this world is of no use to them then there is no reason to stay. They must continue, the search— the mission or else, what was the point?
They can’t stay here wasting time.
Neatly, they fold their wings behind them and pull at their magic. Seamlessly the fabric of the world around them rips apart, purple, and bright and blinding and they know now, they are ready to move onto the next world. To try again.
They push at the Rift, phasing through its depths and then, they are falling.
SleepyDesert_o7 left game.
They are falling, but it doesn’t Last long. It never does as there is always a new world to tear itself apart below them in the endless stretches of the void.
They are falling and they meet a new Rift, a temporary connection set, an anchor drawn.
SleepyDesert_o7 joined the game.
