Jake Sully, a former Marine, manipulated avatar in place of his twin brother and entered Pandora‘s jungle for a field trip.He was accompanied by biologist Grace Augustine, Scientific researcher Norm Spellman, and colonel Miles Quaritch.It is worth mentioning that they all acted in the form of avatar, trying to better integrate into Pandora‘s ecology.
“I guess you may wonder-Why so blue?”
The Colonel started with his humor, then he warned the teammates in all aspects. This long and dull speech may seem boring to others, but Jake Sully felt comforted as it reminded him of his reliable superiors.
Entering the incredible woods,Jake was amazed at all the creatures,sights and fresh air. However, due to a mindless touch, he found himself being chased by a huge animal with stone hard horn. At the very moment, the Colonel immediately grabbed him by the arm and climbed onto a big tree. Luckily, the animal left later, the Colonel placed Jake on his shoulder, jumped to the ground, and they got back unharmed to the team.
"It seems that you were absent from my speech, Corporal. "The Colonel didn't hide his anger and disappointness, relentlessly dragging Jake by his ear.
"I'm sorry, Sir. It won't happen again. "Sully could do nothing but gasp in pain. "Thank you for helping me,Colonel. "
Dr Augustine commented with a sneer. "What you met was a Hammerhead Titanothere, they don't attack human on purpose unless you intrude their territory. Just look out when you wander around, OK?"
They continued the trip, with Norm walking at the front, followed by Grace, and Jack defending the whole team together with Quaritch. With excitement, Jake Sully couldn't stop himself from talking.
“Sir, do you mind me inquiring something about you?Like your experience in Nigeria. ”
"Yes,I do. "The Colonel responded indifferently. "Hold your gun and shut the fuck up, I'll talk to you later. "
The rest of the day passed in peace. Waiting for the helicopter to arrive, they sat down and took a break. Jake found it difficult to join Grace and Norm, so he approached the Colonel and smiled, indicating his willing to speak.
“What do you think this mission is,Corporal?”Quaritch started first. "A school trip with your teacher holding a gun?"
"I promise I will behave,Sir. "Jake giggled in embarrassment, waiting for his senior's jeers.
"Listen,I found you to take the place of your brother, who was actually a scientist or something. So the situation is that a scientist was turned into a soldier, causing a reduced efficiency of their research. "
Jake nodded in agreement. "I don't mind training man for fighting on Pandora, but they might, so you will have to try your best. More importantly, this planet is not what you think, it's a goddamned hell. "The Colonel's words of sincerity moved Jake a lot, which determined him of being as careful as possible.
“Plus, how's the feeling of running again?”Quaritch tapped Jake on the shoulder, grinning gently.
"That is great, Sir! I almost fall for it. "As if seeing his favorite dish, Jake's eyes widening, glittering with thrill.
"Perhaps that's why you are so crazy today, but don't forget to be a good boy,remember?"The Colonel pressed Jake to get on his feet.
"I will, Colonel Quaritch. "
Jake Sully felt his first day on Pandora a great time.
