Chapter Text
~George's P.O.V~
The look on their faces when they walked in, the way they cried, saying how they failed as parents. George didn't expect to fall in love, especially with a boy.
He gazed out the window as the trees passed by. He had been stuck in the car for several hours after being rushed out of the house and into it out of nowhere.
The car slowed to a stop near a blue-and-gray sign that read, "Blue Skies". George didn't know anything about the place other than that it would "fix him". He wanted nothing more than to be "fixed."
When they pulled up to the building, George inspected the area around him. The main building was decently large. He could barely make out a cabin behind the main building.
"George." His mother looked over at him before leaving the car. George sighed, opening the door and getting out of the car. He went to the trunk and grabbed his bag before following his mom to the door.
\When he walked into the building, he was met with a somewhat buff man who was wearing a white-collared shirt with a name tag that read "Justin." It matched the blue sign outside the building. Below was a keycard with a somewhat bright "Blue Skies Staff" under it.
"Hello!" Justin greeted with a fake, dazzling smile. "Can I get your name?"
"Bethany Found. This is George Found," his mom greeted, shaking his hand before nudging George to shake his hand.
He smiled slightly, shaking his hand. George was nervous and felt as if Justin were judging his every move, judging him by the way those sharp eyes inspected him.
"Mrs. Found? If you could sign here, please." He pushed over a form which she filled without a second glance.
He tried to look past the large doors, but he couldn't because Justin was blocking them from his view.
"Wonderful! I can take it from here!" Justin smiled before turning to George. "Follow me to the office; we will get you all settled."
George gave his mom one last glance before following him to another room. It looked to be an office-like area. Justin motioned to the seat, so he sat down nervously, setting down his bag near the chair. He looked around the room at the different pictures and motivational quotes.
George felt as if he was back in the priest's office after his parents found out.
"Welcome to Blue Skies, George! I'm going to go over some basic rules before we enter the main building." Justin seemed far too cheerful.
George nodded, picking at his fingers. Justin cleared his throat before listing off the rules.
"All matters and conversations discussed here should stay private," Justin stated matter-of-factly. Not like George could go home and tell anyone.
"Members must be supervised by staff during restroom visits."
George cringed at what he said.
What!? Is he serious?!
"Films and television are off limits besides the films we show you during movie nights," Justin continued despite George's disgust.
"Now, probably the most important rule: No contact with any members besides the briefest of handshakes," Justin finished, handing him a booklet. "Any rules less important will be listed here."
George took the booklet, glaring at it until Justin cleared his throat. "Alright. Give me your bag and clear your pockets."
George grabbed his bag, handed it to Justin, then took his phone from his pocket and handed it to him as well.
"Before I check your phone, are there any photos or numbers we should be concerned about?" Justin glared at George, who thought about it for a moment. What exactly does he mean?
"Not that I know of..."
Justin nodded his head. "I'll be checking your phone daily, so you better not be lying."
George raised his eyebrow. Justin opened his bag, pouring it all over the desk. George glared at him.
This is ridiculous! "What are you doing? That's my stuff! I gave you my phone; what more do you want?" George snapped, which caused Justin to give him an evil glare.
"Just following protocol, George." Justin sounded annoyed. He shuffled through the stuff before bringing over a bin. He grabbed each item, inspecting it for a moment before placing it into the bin.
"Okay!" He grabbed the bin, putting the phone in before closing the lid. By the time he was done, only one pair of each item survived the purge.
George glared at the one outfit before speaking up. "What? One outfit?" This whole experience was turning into a complete disaster!
"You'll get more things to wear, come on." George just motioned him out of the office. He followed reluctantly, dragging his feet.
When they arrived at the doors, Justin had to swipe his keycard, then enter some code. He typed it too fast for George to keep up.
The people gathered, turned to get a look at him, then went back to whatever conversation they were having.
George followed Justin out the back door into a fenced-in area with small cabins laid about. The fences were wired and very high; he surely couldn't climb them.
"You'll be in Cabin 1B. You'll be by yourself until you can share with someone else." Justin opened the cabin, flicking on the light. There was one set of bunk beds, a clothing drawer, and a small table.
There was no bathroom in sight.
"You'll have specific times to get access to your cabin. You will spend most of your time in the main area or the chapel," Justin explained.
He wasn't surprised. Just from reading the rules, it made it obvious how strict this place was.
He followed Justin back to the main building. "That should be everything you need to know for now. You will receive medication in the morning and before bed, or more often depending on your doctor's orders." Justin smiled at George before walking away, probably back to the front desk to wait for the next arrival.
George looked around; he wasn't ready to make friends. He found a spot away from the others to sit down.
There was paper and markers on the table just waiting for George to use. He smiled, making a red heart in the center of the page.
George had a feeling things wouldn't be good in here.
George watched as everyone talked to each other in their own little world.
When a door slammed, George's eyes locked onto the source of the noise. Out came a tall blond who seemed to be in a bit of a panic.
"Clay!" One of the staff members came out of the area where the blond had come from.
"Dream!" the blond retorted loudly, clearly annoyed.
George locked eyes with Clay — Dream? For a moment, they smiled at him before moving, just barely avoiding the staff.
More personnel came through the large doors George entered. The blond kid was trapped.
"Damnit! Alright, fine, fine! Chill, boys, I'm going, God!" The blond rolled his eyes, avoiding the staff's grip.
The blond gave George one last glance before going back into the room with the staff he had just escaped from.
Someone cleared their throat, getting George's attention. He glanced up at them. They had raven hair, brown eyes, and a rather firm gaze. "That's Dream. You won't see him much." The raven-haired man sat in front of George.
He glared at the door, then back at the stranger.
"I go by Sapnap. You?" the raven said, now known as Sapnap.
"George..." he answered nervously.
"Well, welcome to Blue Skies!" Sapnap lowered his voice and leaned a bit closer. "Or how I call it: Gray Hell."
"Anyway! Good luck, my friend! Oh, and a bit of advice: stay away from Dream." Sapnap smiled, walking away.
Dream was clearly troubled, yet-- he intrigued him.
He looked back at the door through which Dream had disappeared and tried to inspect it, but a staff member got in his way.
"What are you doing?" the staff member asked, sporting a name tag which read "Rodger".
"Uh... what's there? Behind the door?" George inquired nervously.
"It's none of your business. I would suggest you don't try to go to off-limits places, especially to patients," Rodger grumbled.
"But... If it's off-limits, then why did I see Drea---Clay go back there?" George asked, which made the staff narrow their eyes.
"It doesn't concern you, George." The staff crossed their arms. He decided not to push him further and walked away.
When one of the staff members got the members' attention, they gathered their chairs and formed a circle around the staff member.
George followed, unsure of what exactly he was supposed to be doing. He sat next to Sapnap, turning to shoot a glance at the door Dream went through. He was hopeful he would see Dream during the meeting, but the door never opened.
The meeting consisted of getting to know each other. Luckily, George somehow managed to avoid talking despite Sapnap's efforts.
When it was time for medication, George got in line behind Sapnap. He glanced around before deciding that he was, in fact, right. He would rarely see the blond.
When it was George's turn, they handed him a small container containing a light blue pill. "What is this for?" He looked up at the woman behind the counter.
"Just a vitamin, don't you worry!" The woman seemed suspiciously cheerful. He inspected the pill one last time before taking it with a sip of water.
Before he could walk away, the woman stopped him with a command. "You need to lift your tongue, so I can make sure you took your pill."
George listened, then walked away. He nervously used the restroom with the others before following the others out towards the cabins. He said goodnight to Sapnap before walking into his cabin, which he locked behind him.
George looked at his one pair of clothes before lying down in the bottom bunk. The bed was uncomfortable, but he was too busy thinking of what was behind the door to care.
-
He was woken up pretty early and wasn't very happy about it, but he didn't have much of a choice. He followed the others away from the cabins and into the main building.
George looked around, but there was no sign of the blond. George made his way over to Sapnap, sitting in front of him.
"Will I ever see Dream again?" he asked without thinking.
Sapnap raised his eyebrow. "Possibly. Why are you so interested in Dream? I told you---"
"I know," George stopped him with a groan. "I'm sorry, I'm just curious."
Sapnap lowered his voice so the staff nearby couldn't hear him. "Well, stop. Your 'curiosity' will get you hurt."
What does that mean? "What do you---"
One of the staff had come up to the two. "Nick, I believe you should give George some space."
Sapnap looked at George before standing up. "Yeah. I should..."
George was confused. Sapnap did nothing wrong. Did I do something wrong?
Sapnap walked away nervously as if he knew he had done something wrong. George looked at the staff member. "What? What did---?" George started, but the staff stopped him.
"He did nothing wrong; he just needed to give you some space." The woman smiled before turning and walking away.
"That's what they always say." Another member with the name tag "Eret" walked up to him. "Word of advice: don't talk to only one person, it makes you look suspicious." Eret smiled before walking away as if he said nothing.
Suspicious? What? Just making friends looks suspicious?
George was dozing through the morning prayer. He wanted to be fixed, but his mind was so wrapped up in his conversations with Eret and Sapnap.
Sapnap got in trouble for talking to me. Eret said not to talk to the same people? Are they afraid I might fall in love with one of the other members?
He was coming to get fixed, not to be in a relationship with a boy. He cringed at the fact that they thought that was what he wanted.
When the prayer ended, George was free for a couple of minutes before his first official meeting began...
