Work Text:
When Hoseok moved in he quickly realised that his new roommate had a couple of strange habits. His roommate, Jimin, was very much a night owl and he was out most nights. Hoseok didn’t see him all too often at first, he’d see Jimin when he came home from work but they didn’t talk much. After about two weeks they warmed to each other, Jimin seemingly having decided that Hoseok wasn’t a complete weirdo. You could even call them friends now. This however, is much to Hoseok's displeasure. He has been harbouring a crush on his roommate for the best part of the 6 months they’ve lived together now. Who could blame him? Jimin is incredibly attractive and he has a great personality. So bless Hoseok, he has had many a gay panic moments in the last 6 months. Terrified of ruining their friendship and living situation, he hasn’t acted upon his feelings. His friends think he’s an idiot for it, they’re saying it’s obvious Jimin is interested in him too, but Hoseok just brushed their comments off.
As much as they get along well, Hoseok has never asked what Jimin actually does at night? Most nights, Jimin will send Hoseok a message saying he’s heading out and will be back late. Obviously Jimin can do whatever he wants, he’s a fully grown adult, but it is a bit strange and Hoseok can’t help but wonder.
///
He’s out for dinner with his friend Namjoon when his phone pings and it’s a message from Jimin telling him yet again he’s heading out and won’t be home until late.
“He’s going out again, Joon-ah”, Hoseok says to him.
“Who? Jimin?” Namjoon asks.
“Yeah, I swear this is the third time this week.”
“Okay?”
“I mean, I know he can do what he wants but I’m just curious”, Hoseok continues as he’s poking at his rice.
“Have you still not asked him?” Namjoon asks with an almost accusatory tone to his voice.
“Well, no, because at the end of the day it’s none of my business.”
“But curiosity is clearly eating you alive and it’s also clearly bothering you”, Namjoon reasons.
“You know how I am when it comes to Jimin”, Hoseok mumbles as he takes a sip from his drink.
“But you’re friends and you live together, you can just ask him out of curiosity”, Namjoon tells him.
Hoseok makes a face like he’s deep in thought.
“You know I’m right, Hobah”, Namjoon laughs.
///
For reasons unbeknownst to Hoseok, the next day he finds himself having said “fuck it” to his worries and is waiting in the kitchen for Jimin to come home so he can ask him. Although he has made up his mind that he will ask his roommate what on earth he’s doing at night, it doesn’t mean he isn’t nervous. He’s been pacing around the kitchen for the better part of the last hour trying to think of the best way to ask.
“Hey, you okay, hyung?” Jimin's voice pulls Hoseok out of his spiralling thoughts.
“Yeah, yeah, I’m fine”, he mumbles.
Hoseok’s eyes follow Jimin’s movements through the kitchen as he fills the kettle with water and turns it on to boil.
“Did you have a long day at work today, hobi-hyung?” Jimin asks.
“Yeah, kind of.”
There is a moment of silence while the kettle boils away in the corner.
“Did you go anywhere nice last night?”, Hoseok asks, avoiding looking at Jimin.
Jimin doesn’t say anything and Hoseok immediately panics that he’s overstepped.
“You don’t have to answer, I’m sorry it’s none-“
“No, no! You don’t need to apologise hyung!”Jimin interrupts him.
“Sorry, I know it’s none of my business, I’m just curious and we’ve lived together for a while and -”
“Hyung!”
Hoseok stops his rambling and actually turns to look at Jimin to see him smiling.
“It’s fine, I don’t mind that you’ve asked! I was just confused because you’ve never asked before”, he assures him.
“Oh, okay.”
“I went to House of Red”, Jimin tells him.
Hoseok has never heard of the club before but it sounds interesting.
“Oh, sounds cool, maybe I could come with you sometime?”
If you asked Hoseok what was going through his head when he asked this, he wouldn’t have an answer. Jimin looks at him a little dumbfounded before answering.
“Are you sure, hyung?”
“Only if you don’t mind, just thought it must be a nice club if you go there so often”, Hoseok continues as he pours hot water for his tea into a cute mug with a cat on it.
“Uhm, yeah sure. I’ll let you know next time I go”, Jimin says, sounding a little confused, but lets it rest and heads to his room.
Hoseok internally gives himself a pat on the back for managing to make it through the conversation and only mildly making a fool out of himself.
///
“Did you ask him?” Namjoon questions Hoseok whilst they are on their way to the café they’ll be meeting Jungkook at.
“You’ll be proud of me! I did actually ask him!” Hoseok boasts with a big smile on his face.
“Oh, so where does Jimin go all those nights?”
Namjoon holds the door for Hoseok to go through.
“He goes to this club, has a pretty cool name. Ugh, damnit!”, he curses as he trips over the door mat.
Hoseok walks into the café and goes up to the counter.
“He goes to a club almost every night?” Namjoon asks in disbelief.
“Yeah, goes like every other night roughly.”
They place their coffee order, getting one for Jungkook already while they wait for him.
“That must be an amazing club! What was it called again?”
“Ah, I don’t remember! Something Red Mansion or so”
“Isn’t that that vampire club we saw the other day?”
“What? No! Why would Jimin go to a vampire club?” Hoseok asks, confused by Namjoon’s suggestion.
“I swear it is! I think that’s where Jungkook met his boyfriend Yoongi-hyung!”
As if on cue, the door opens and Jungkook walks in.
“Hyungs! Ah, you brought coffee, thank god, I need this so bad. I am so tired!” Jungkook excitedly says when he sees the cups of iced coffee sitting on the table and promptly plopped down next to Hoseok and Namjoon.
“Jungkook-ah, what was that club called where you met Yoongi-hyung?” Namjoon asks him.
“Oh! It was called House of Red”, Jungkook tells them.
Hoseok’s eyes widen when he realises that’s the name of the club Jimin had told him the day before.
“Why are you asking?” Jungkook turns to look at Namjoon when he asks the question.
“You know Jimin, Hobi’s roommate?”
Jungkook nods while practically inhaling his coffee.
“He goes there multiple times a week”, Namjoon tells him.
“Hobi-hyung I didn’t know Jimin was a vampire!”
Jungkook’s eyes turned wide and sparkly at the prospect of another vampire in their friend group.
“Jimin isn’t a vampire”, Hoseok says almost defensively.
“Are you sure? If he goes to a feeding club multiple times a week, he could well be a vampire”, Namjoon reasons.
“For one I don’t even remember correctly if that was the name of the club Jimin said he was going to. Two, even if it is, just because he goes there doesn’t mean he’s a vampire”, Hoseok defends against the speculations.
“But what if he is? Because if he goes there so many times to be fed off, he’d be dead by now! No one has that much blood” Jungkook says.
“I - well it doesn’t matter. We don’t even know. I guess I’ll find out when I go with him next time”, Hoseok says and sees how Namjoon and Jungkook’ eyes widen. Before either of them can say anything, more people are coming into the meeting room and they drop the conversation.
///
Hoseok hasn’t talked to his friends about the club Jimin goes to anymore after their conversation the other day. Well, apart from how Namjoon told him to be careful whilst Jungkook shot him an excited glance.
It is two days later when Jimin approaches Hoseok when he comes home from work.
“Hi hyung”, he says as Hoseok walks into the living room.
Jimin was sitting on the couch dressed in sweatpants and a plain t-shirt, his dark hair was fluffy and he wasn’t wearing any makeup. As Hoseok walked in, he got up and walked over to him.
“I’m going out tonight, if you wanna come”, Jimin says casually.
It takes Hoseok a moment to process what was said to him, as always he was slightly distracted by Jimin’s ethereal beauty.
“Yeah, sure, that sounds good”, he says when his brain has finally caught up.
Jimin gives him a big crescent moon eye smile.
“Amazing! We’ll leave at 10”, he says before going off to his room, presumably to get ready.
Later that evening, as they are about to head out, Hoseok is absolutely stunned by how gorgeous Jimin looked. He was dressed in tight black leather pants, black chelsea boots and a black silk shirt with the top three buttons undone; a thin silver chain was adorning his neck, silver hoops decorated his ears and he wore lots of rings. His hair is styled and there is smokey shadow around his eyes as well as some tinted balm on his plump lips.
“Wow, Jimin you look amazing!” Hoseok says as he not so subtly checks Jimin out.
Jimin lets out a giggle which is music to Hoseok’s ears.
“You don’t look too bad yourself, hyung”, he says as his eyes wander over Hoseok standing in front of him.
Hoseok thanks Jimin for the compliment, even though he doesn’t feel like his outfit is nearly as stunning as Jimin’s. Hoseok is in a pair of black wide leg trousers, a black tank top and has thrown a white shirt on top but has decided to keep it unbuttoned.
“Shall we go?” Jimin asks.
///
There is a long line outside the club when they make it into town. The two of them make their way over to the end of the line, but then one of the bouncers waves towards them. Hoseok has never seen this man before, so it surely isn’t him he’s waving at, but as he looks over at Jimin, he sees him duck his head and grasp at Hoseok’s sleeve to pull him into the queue.
“Jimin-ah I think the guy is waving at you”, Hoseok tells him as they stumble into the line.
“I don’t know what-”
“Jimin-ah!”, the bouncer shouts as he makes his way over to them.
He’s a big guy, if only a couple inches taller than Jimin, he was incredibly muscular.
“Why are you getting in the queue?”
“I just - uhm-”, Jimin starts but the bouncer interrupts him as he turns to Hoseok.
“Oh you brought a friend today? That’s cool! You guys don’t need to queue, I’ll take you right through”, the blond bouncer - Wonho his name tag says - tells them and motions for them to walk past the line.
“You don’t have to, Wonho-yah”, Jimin tries again.
“No, it’s cool, you guys can head in!”
They make their way to the front of the line and then Wonho lets them in through a heavy looking black door.
“Have a good time guys!”, he says and flashes them a big smile.
Hang on! Are those fangs? Hoseok thinks as he smiles back at him just before heading into the club with Jimin.
“You must come here often, if the bouncer just lets you go through like that”, Hoseok says excitedly as they make their way to the bar.
“I happen to know the owner”, Jimin says while they push past people dancing very closely to each other.
The club is a decent size, has one big dance floor in the centre and seems to have two smaller ones off to the sides. The reddish pink lighting gives the club a great atmosphere. Hoseok can’t seem to miss, however, how there are a lot of seating areas. There are sofas and armchairs and daybeds everywhere, the only places that don’t have seating space are the dancefloors. There are also a ton of booths scattered along the edges of the club. Hoseok has never seen so many seating areas in a club, and he is arguably a little confused.
He turns to ask Jimin about it just as he grabs them a drinks menu.
“Oh, the seating areas are for when someone gets exhausted, so they can recover and also because a lot of us prefer to be seated when drinking”, Jimin tells him.
It does kind of make sense, but it is still a strange concept to Hoseok. Why would people get so exhausted they’d need to sit down? Surely there aren’t that many people who would dance until they’re about to pass out and have to sit down?
“I guess you won’t spill your drink when you’re sat down”, Hoseok says as he scans over the menu.
He sees confusion flash across Jimin’s face, but he quickly seems to recover.
“Uhm yeah”, he mumbles.
As Hoseok looks over the menu he notices there are no alcoholic drinks on the menu.
“What are you looking at, hyung?” Jimin asks, poking his head over to look at Hoseok’s menu.
“Do they not serve any alcoholic drinks here?”
Hoseok is getting more and more confused by this club.
“Uhm, no?”
Jimin looked at him about as confused as Hoseok felt.
“Have you been to one of these clubs that serve alcohol?” Jimin questions and looks terribly concerned and confused at the same time.
“Doesn’t every club serve alcohol?”
Hoseok is really struggling to follow along, doesn’t understand why he seems to be the only one thinking it’s weird they don’t serve alcohol.
“It’s a consent thing, hyung!” Jimin exclaims.
It feels like a Hoseok is missing something in all of this, his head is starting to hurt trying to make sense of what is happening.
Then he thinks he’s connecting the dots and he stares at Jimin.
“Did you bring me to a BDSM club?!” he whisper-yells.
“What? No! This isn’t that sort of club, you know this!” Jimin yells back at him.
They stare at each other for a long moment before Jimin says: “Please tell me you haven’t done this drunk before!”
“Doesn’t everyone drink at clubs?” Hoseok asks, still more confused than he ever thought he’d be at a club.
“Well, yeah, that’s the whole point of being here”, Jimin says and reaches over to some baskets on the edge of the bar, but Hoseok can’t see what he’s reaching for.
“I mean, I think the whole consent thing is a good idea, but where’s the fun in it all without being a little tipsy?” he asks once Jimin has turned back around to him.
He is holding two wristbands in his small hands and he hands a pink band to Hoseok while Jimin puts on a black one.
“Hobi-hyung, please promise me you’re not going to do this drunk anymore”, Jimin requests sounding way more serious than he should, in Hoseok’s opinion, after all it is just a couple of drinks on a night out.
Hoseok decides to ignore the question and instead puts on the pink wristband.
“What do these mean? Is yours like VIP, because you’re such a regular here?” Hoseok jokes, giggles to himself a little and therefore misses another look of disbelief flashing across Jimin’s face.
They decide to order some of the fancy sounding mocktails and make their way to the dancefloor in the centre of the club. They dance together and Hoseok has to admit it isn’t so bad, but he does miss that familiar buzz he gets after an actual cocktail.
They’d been dancing for a short while when a very handsome man with dark hair and plump lips approached Jimin. There is a little tug of jealousy in Hoseok’s gut when Jimin excuses himself and leaves the dancefloor with the handsome stranger. He can still have a good time on his own, so he continues to dance to the music blasting through the speakers. Now that he is alone, Hoseok notices how close some of the couples are dancing, a lot of them seem to be making out very intensely. The guy from the couple to his side seems to be sucking a giant hickey into the girl’s neck.
A tap on his shoulder pulls Hoseok away from staring at the couple. A man about his height, maybe a tiny bit taller, stood in front of him. He’s slim, has longer bleached blond hair, sharp eyes, plump lips and is dressed in black leather trousers and an oversized white button down with dark red splatters over it, mostly along the collar. Hoseok sees a black wristband adorning delicate wrists that poke out from the rolled up sleeves of the shirt. He must be another VIP, Hoseok thinks.
“Hi! I’m Hyunjin”, he introduces himself to him.
“Hi, I’m Hoseok!”
Hyunjin’s gaze is intense, incredibly so, and he is stepping even closer.
“I’ve never seen you here before”, he notes as he lets his sharp eyes rake all over Hoseok’s body.
“Yeah, it’s my first time coming here”, Hoseok answers and tries to move away from Hyunjin.
“You smell delicious”, the blond tells him as he yet again steps closer to Hoseok.
He is starting to feel uncomfortable in Hyunjin’s presence, but every time he takes a step back it's like the blond takes two steps closer.
“I’m flattered, it’s a new cologne, but -”
Hoseok stops himself from talking as his back hits a wall - he didn’t even realise they had moved so far off the dancefloor. Hyunjin chuckles as he crowds him against the wall.
“I can tell you’re new to this”, he says.
Hyunjin flashes him a smile and Hoseok sees fangs glinting in the neon light.
No one said anything about there being a theme tonight, he thinks to himself.
“Hyunjin-ah you have three seconds to step away from him or this won’t end nicely”, Jimin's voice sounds from behind the tall blond caging Hoseok against the wall.
Thank god Jimin is here! Hoseok thinks.
“Or what are you gonna do Jimin-ssi, huh?” Hyunjin challenges looking over his shoulder at Jimin, still not stepping away from a terrified Hoseok.
“Don’t try me”, Jimin says, voice dropping lower and full of disdain.
“You don’t usually mind sharing”, Hyunjin laughs.
“One”, Jimin begins to count.
“Oh, this will be fun”, Hyunjin says smirking over his shoulder, fangs catching in the lights.
“Two.”
There is a pause, the both of them just staring at each other, neither moving.
“Don’t make me get to three”, Jimin warns.
“Do it, I haven’t fought in a decade!”
“Hyunjin!”, Jimin sneers.
Before Jimin can count to three and before Hyunjin can make another move on Hoseok, he is pulled away and gets his hands manhandled to his back by the bouncer from earlier, Wonho, Hoseok recalls.
“That’s enough posturing in my club”, another voice sounds and Hoseok recognises it to be coming from the man Jimin had walked off with earlier.
“Wonho, take him out of the club. Hyunjin, this is your last warning, one more strike and you’ll be banned from all my clubs for the next millennium!”, the tall man orders.
Hoseok lets out a breath he didn’t know he was holding in until now.
“I had it under control”, Jimin mumbles to the other man.
“Keep telling yourself that, Jimin-ah”, the man says before walking away.
Jimin turns to Hoseok, to check in on him. Once he seems assured enough that Hoseok is okay, he stops fussing and takes a step back.
“I’m sorry about what happened, I shouldn’t have left you alone”, Jimin apologises.
“It’s okay. Who was the guy you walked off with?”, Hoseok aks.
“Oh, Seokjin-hyung! He owns this place and loads of other places, met him a century ago and we’ve been friends since”, Jimin explains.
Hoseok thinks it’s a bit of a weird choice of words but he lets it slip and nods as Jimin’s answer.
“I’m really sorry Hyunjin tried to bite you, he’s an asshole, but he’s still a fledgeling, he’s still learning”, Jimin tells him as they sit down on one of the many sofas with new drinks in hand.
He furrowed his eyebrows at all the strange word choices the other is using today.
“I mean, I can’t blame him for wanting to drink from you”, Jimin chuckles more to himself than anything, but Hoseok still hears it.
“What did you just say?”
“Nothing, nevermind.”
They sit without talking for a moment. Hoseok scans the club a bit more and he notices more and more people with red paint splashes across their clothes and people wearing fangs. He can’t handle the confusion anymore, he has to ask.
“What is going on? Is there a theme for tonight?”
Jimin’s head shoots up from where he was staring down at his drink and he looks at Hoseok with more confusion on his face then he’s ever seen on him.
“What do you mean, hyung?”
“Well all the people wearing fangs and the dark red paint on people’s clothes? Like what is going on?”
The look of confusion only grows on Jimin’s face.
“Hobi-hyung, what do you think this club is?” he carefully asks.
“This is what I’ve been trying to work out the whole time, but I have no clue.”
“What do you mean you have no clue?”
“I have no idea what’s going on, I am so confused and if it’s a theme or whatever then maybe I don’t get it, maybe -”, Hoseok starts to try and explain his thoughts.
“We’re in a vampire feeding club!'' Jimin very unintelligently blurts out and watches as Hoseok’s face loses all the colour.
“We’re in a what?!” Hoseok yells in disbelief.
“Sshhh! Keep it down hyung!” Jimin tries to calm Hoseok down.
“Why did you bring me here?”
“You asked where I was going all these nights and then said you wanted to come along! I thought you know what this club is!” Jimin defends himself.
“How was I supposed to know?” he asks in shock.
“This is the most popular feeding club around, I thought everyone knows what it is” Jimin continues to defend himself.
“Wait, wait, wait! Does this mean you’re a vampire?” Hoseok whispers the last word as if it was something bad to say.
“Yes, I am”, Jimin says almost too quietly for him to hear.
Hoseok’s eyes widen even more and he looks like he is going to pass out any moment.
“I need to - I should go”, Hoseok says as he gets up from the sofa and he sees what looks like hurt flash across Jimin’s eyes, but he just needs to get out.
“I will crash at Namjoon’s place”, Hoseok tells Jimin before he makes his way out of the club, almost running.
///
When Hoseok wakes up on Namjoon’s sofa the next morning, he isn’t sure if last night actually happened, but as he raises his arm, the pink wristband reminds him that last night did in fact happen. He lets out a big sigh before getting up to check his phone. He has some missed notifications, but his eyes immediately land on the messages from Jimin.
I’m sorry I took you to the club last night, I thought you knew what club it was. I understand if you need space to process it all, I will keep out of your way. I don’t want to make you feel uncomfortable. I hope you got to Namjoon’s place safely. Let me know when you’re coming back and I will make sure to give you space, the text read.
He looks at the text, debates if he should answer him, but decides to close the text and scrolls through his other notifications.
Hoseok sets his phone aside to get up. He’s been to Namjoon’s place so many times, he knows where everything is. When he gets into the kitchen to make a cup of coffee, he finds Taehyung, Namjoon’s boyfriend, making himself a cup of tea.
“Oh, hyung, you’re up!” Taehyung cheerfully says.
“Yeah, just woke up”, Hoseok mumbles as he goes to grab himself a mug from a cupboard.
They make small talk while they prepare their drinks and Hoseok is glad that Taehyung doesn’t ask about his situation with Jimin. The two take a seat at the table and sit in comfortable silence for a moment, just enjoying the hot drinks on an autumn morning.
“I’m gonna head to my studio in a moment, but Namjoon-hyung should come down anytime now”, Taehyung tells him as he gets up.
Just as he finished the sentence, footsteps can be heard just outside the kitchen and then Namjoon walks in.
“Ah, Hoba, you’re awake”, he says as he walks around the table to give Taehyung a quick kiss.
If anyone had told Hoseok a few years ago that awkward Namjoon, who doesn’t know how to deal with displays of affection, would so openly kiss his boyfriend while someone else was around, he wouldn’t have believed it. The young artist has really changed Namjoon and brought out an openly loving side of the art curator.
“How are you feeling this morning?” Namjoon asks Hoseok.
“Confused is probably the best way to describe it”, Hoseok answers while staring into his coffee cup as if it was going to provide him with any answers.
“I think this is my cue to leave”, Taehyung says before he steals another kiss from Namjoon and turns to leave.
“Paint me something pretty”, Namjoon calls after him and Taehyung flashes him a big boxy smile and blows him a kiss before he leaves.
Namjoon begins to make himself a coffee before he picks up the conversation with Hoseok again.
“At least now you know”, Namjoon starts off.
Hoseok sends him an unimpressed glare, which has Namjoon throwing up his hands in defence.
“Okay, that probably wasn’t the best thing to say”, he admits, no longer wanting to be glared at.
“My roommate is a vampire!” Hoseok exclaims.
“My roommate is a vampire, who goes to feeding clubs multiple times a week! Namjoon, what the fuck is going on? What am I meant to do now?”
“I feel like by calling him ‘your roommate’ you’re trying to deflect”, Namjoon mentions.
“Okay, Jimin is a vampire, does it make you happy that I’ve said it now?” Hoseok said and it was clear he was getting irritated by the whole situation.
“At least that way you’re addressing the issue properly, because I think if he was just a roommate you wouldn’t be freaking out as much as you are right now, but it’s Jimin and you two are close and you have feelings for him”, he lays the facts out for his struggling friend.
“I don’t know what to think Joon-ah”, Hoseok says and deflates on the table.
“Well, I’m not a vampire expert, but we both know someone who knows a thing or two about vampires”, Namjoon smiles.
“You’re talking about Jungkook, aren’t you?”
“Of course I am. He’s coming over in a bit”, Namjoon tells him.
Hoseok is not sure if he really wants to talk about the whole vampire situation, it all feels overwhelming to him and he tells Namjoon as much.
“Look Hoba, I think talking to Jungkook is a good idea, he’s been with Yoongi-hyung for almost two years now. Of course you can crash here if you don’t want to go back home yet, but I really don’t think things are as bad as they may seem right now”, Namjoon tries to assure Hoseok.
Hoseok just stares at his coffee, his mind racing with all that has happened.
“I have to go now, to meet my client. Maybe a long shower will do you good to clear your mind a little.”
“Yeah, I think you’re right. Who is it you’re meeting?” Hoseok asks.
“His name is Seokjin, he always buys Tae’s, well Vante’s, paintings”, Namjoon explains as he puts on his jacket to head out.
Hoseok can’t put his finger on it, but the name rings a bell, but too much is going on in his mind right now.
///
When Jungkook comes over, Hoseok has had a long hot shower and he feels a little bit more composed than he did when he woke up this morning. He has looked at Jimin’s message at least three more times and has closed it every time without answering, he just doesn’t know what to say.
He sits on the big sofa with Jungkook and they’re eating fried chicken and ramen which the younger one had brought with him.
“Soooo”, Jungkook starts.
“Soooo?” Hoseok throws back at him.
“Jimin-hyung is a vampire”, the younger states.
“Yep, Jimin is a vampire.”
“And he took you to a feeding club and you didn’t know”, Jungkook continues.
“Yep, that also happened”, Hoseok confirms.
“And you had a crush on Jimin, but now you don’t know how to feel.”
“Yeah, that about sums it up”, he says.
They sit in silence for a moment, Jungkook looking angry while slurping his ramen, before he sits it down.
“This might sound silly, but why does it matter that Jimin is a vampire?”, Jungkook asks Hoseok.
He wasn’t expecting that question at all. He tries to think of an answer, opens his mouth a couple times, but closes it every time as he can’t come up with an answer.
“Does the fact that Jimin is a vampire change who he is as a person? Does it change his personality?” Jungkook continues to ask.
“But he drinks blood from people”, Hoseok blurts out.
“Yeah and so does Yoongi-hyung”, Jungkook says.
“It’s just, I don’t know.”
“It’s a means for them to survive and from what it looks like Jimin, like Yoongi, drinks consensually from other humans, he doesn’t go out and attack people or even worse, kill them”, the younger reasons.
“You have a point, but still, he’s a vampire.”
“He’s a person who has some special features and a very special diet, but who will also live a very very long life, does that sound better to you?” Jungkook asks.
Hoseok goes quiet and really thinks about Jungkook’s statement.
“Hyung, vampire’s aren’t the monsters the books tell us about. Most days I totally forget Yoongi-hyung is a vampire, they have evolved and can live among humans perfectly fine and we as humans have also evolved to accommodate them into everyday life. Trust me, it’s not as big of a deal as you’re currently making it out to be”, Jungkook explains to his hyung.
Hoseok hums and stirs the few remaining noodles in his ramen bowl from side to side.
“What’s it like being with Yoongi-hyung? Like, how do you deal with the feeding, surely he doesn’t go to a feeding club all the time”, he asks the younger.
“No! I don’t share my Yoongi-hyung!” Jungkook quickly exclaims and pouts even just at the suggestion.
“So how do you do it, because he can’t feed from you every other day?” Hoseok is genuinely curious when he asks.
“He drinks from blood bags most days and feeds from me once or twice a week”, he answers before eating more of the fried chicken.
“What does it feel like to be bitten? A vampire tried to bite me yesterday, but Jimin came just in time to stop him”, Hoseok tells him.
“Oh my god, hyung! I hope the other vampire didn’t hurt you! That’s so bad of him, that he tried to bite you without permission, thankfully Jimin was there!”
“Yeah, he got there just in time”, Hoseok says and can’t help his lips curling into a smile thinking about how hot Jimin looked challenging Hyunjin.
“Being bitten can feel different for everyone, it depends how much venom the vampire lets seep in while biting. It only hurts a little bit at the beginning, it’s difficult to describe unless you’ve experienced it. I love it when Yoongi-hyung feeds from me”, Jungkook tells him and a smirk dances on his lips.
Hoseok just nods at this, still not sure how he feels about it all.
“Being with a vampire isn’t all that different than you think it is, but of course every relationship can be different, but you shouldn’t let the fact that Jimin is a vampire change the way you feel about him”, Jungkook says after a short moment of silence.
“You’re saying that as if Jimin and I would ever get together”, Hoseok mumbles.
“If you would pull yourself together and actually confess to him, the chances would be much higher than they are now that you’re sat here having a meltdown over the fact he’s a vampire”, the younger tells him.
“Yah! Jungkook-ah when did you get so bold!”
“We’re all sick and tired of you pining after Jimin and not doing anything about it!”
Hoseok crashes at Namjoon’s place for another two days and spends a lot of time thinking about his conversation with Jungkook.
After he has stared at Jimin’s message for the hundredth time, he thinks he’s made up his mind.
///
His heart is pounding fast in his chest as he makes his way up in the elevator. He hasn’t seen Jimin in three days and he never replied to his message. Jimin stuck to his word and gave Hoseok all the space he needed and Hoseok is glad about it, but he also hated it. Although his friends all told him Jimin also has feelings for him, and Jungkook insisting that he knows from a secret source, Hoseok was still indescribably nervous. And he’s about to risk it all.
He takes a moment to try and calm his rapid heartbeat down as he stands outside the apartment door, before he uses his key to let himself in. It is evening, there is a high chance that Jimin might not be home, he could be at the club, but as Hoseok steps into the apartment, he sees Jimin’s boots by the door. He takes a deep breath as he closes the door.
After he crosses the hallway, he finds Jimin in the living room.
“Hi”, Hoseok says quietly, almost inaudible, but Jimin’s head whips around and his eyes land directly on Hoseok.
“Hyung”, Jimin whispers in disbelief, like he can’t seem to fathom that Hoseok is back.
He gets up and crosses the room at supernatural speed and stands right in front of Hoseok.
“Was that part of the vam-”, Hoseok starts.
“Shit, fuck, sorry”, Jimin blurts out and steps far away from Hoseok.
“I’ll go, I’ll give you space”, Jimin adds.
“No!” Hoseok shouts before the vampire can disappear on him.
Jimin’s eyes widen as he looks at him, but stays and doesn’t leave him alone.
“We need to talk”, Hoseok tells him.
Jimin only nods and fidgets a little in the place he’s standing, he pulls on the sleeves of his hoodie, completely covers his hands with them and then wraps his arms around himself. He keeps looking down, but Hoseok can see the dark rings under his eyes.
“Are you okay, Jimin-ah?”, he asks and makes to step closer to him, but Jimin steps back.
“I’m okay”, he answers, but it’s a mumbled response and oh so quietly.
“Maybe we should sit down”, Hoseok suggests.
“I’m okay”, the vampire declines.
Hoseok continued to scan Jimin, he was acting very strangely but wouldn’t say what was wrong with him. The courage to confess and talk about everything was fading in Hoseok, so rather than poking the other about what is wrong with him, he decides to just get it over and done with.
“You’re a vampire”, he states.
Jimin only nods.
“And you didn’t tell me”, he continued.
Jimin shakes his head.
“But then you thought I had figured it out when I asked to come to the club with you?”, he asks.
Jimin again only nods.
“Why aren’t you talking to me?”
He doesn’t get an answer.
“We need to talk about this!” Hoseok pushes.
Jimin hangs his head lower.
“What is going on? Why are you not talking?”
Jimin curls his arms tighter around himself.
“Talk to me, Jimin!” Hoseok shouts.
“I can’t! I haven’t eaten in days!” Jimin shouts and Hoseok can hear a small lisp and then he sees them. Jimin’s fangs are out, he can see them even in the dimly lit living room.
“What does that have to do with me?” he asks.
“Because you smell so fucking good and all I want to do is sink my teeth into your neck!” Jimin yells and then immediately slaps his hands over his mouth.
They stare at each other in shock and silence.
“Hyung, I’m so sorry, I didn’t mean to say that”, Jimin rushes to apologise.
“It’s - it’s okay, you can, uh, you can drink my blood”, Hoseok suggests like he is completely out of his mind.
Jimin looks at him like he has absolutely lost it.
“You don’t know what you’re offering”, he grits out through his teeth.
“I talked to Jungkook about all this, I know what I’m offering”, he tells the starving vampire.
“Yoongi-hyung has a lot more control than I do, I don’t know if I’ll be able to stop myself”, Jimin confessed.
“You know Yoongi-hyung?”
“Long story, but of course I do”, Jimin chuckles.
“I need you sane for the conversation we need to have, so you will need to drink some blood”, Hoseok says confidently, but unsure where all this confidence is coming from, he has never dealt with a starving vampire before, heck he has never dealt with a vampire before.
“I don’t know if I’ll be able to drink from you safely”, Jimin repeats himself.
“Maybe drink from my wrist, it might give me more of a chance to push you off if I need to”, he reasons.
Jimin doesn’t seem too convinced, but he gives a small nod nonetheless.
“I’m going to go and grab some bandages and wipes to wrap it up after, I’ll be right back”, Hoseok says before making his way to their bathroom.
He has absolutely no idea where all his confidence comes from, but he will make the most out of it, while he has it. Hoseok grabs the first aid kit from their bathroom cabinet and gives himself a quick glance in the mirror, takes a deep breath and heads back to the living room.
He sees Jimin sitting on the sofa again, in the furthest corner. Hoseok takes a place in the other corner.
“Come here, Jimin-ah”, he says to him.
The vampire hesitates, but eventually moves closer. His eyes, which have taken on a red hue, are glued to the movement when Hoseok rolls up his sleeve and reveals his delicate wrists. He holds his arm out, silently offering Jimin his blood. The vampire stares at the other’s wrist and then looks at him with pleading eyes which also hold a look of fear.
“It’s okay, you can drink from me”, Hoseok assures him and moves his arm a little closer to Jimin.
When he bites down, Hoseok feels it like two needles being pushed into his wrist really hard and then he feels the rest of Jimin’s teeth and he can’t help himself letting out a groan of pain, but the pain disappears as soon as it appears. He feels his wrist go numb, only feels a little bit of a tingly feeling. Then, a feeling of warmth begins to spread through his body rapidly and he feels tingly all over. He watches as Jimin’s eyes close and he hears a tiny moan escape his mouth once the blood hits the vampire's mouth. A few drops of his blood fall down his arm and land on Jimin’s sweatpants, where his arm is pulled over him. The warm feeling that Hoseok was feeling seems to curl in his lower belly and he starts to feel a weird tug in his gut, almost like he’s…aroused. Just as he finishes forming the thought, he feels his cock twitch in his jeans.
Oh no, this can’t be happening, he thinks to himself.
He moves a little to try and hide his slowly but surely growing bulge, but Jimin clasps his jaw tighter around his wrist.
“Jimin”, Hoseok tries, but the vampire is solely focused on sucking the blood from his wrist.
He tries to sit up straighter, so he can get a better position to try and push Jimin off him.
“Jimin, stop!”
The vampire leaves him no other chance, and Hoseok tries to push him off, but it only makes Jimin bite down harder. Hoseok changes his technique and moves his free hand to the front of the other’s neck and presses down hard making him struggle to swallow and immediately releasing his wrist. Hoseok pulls his arm away and takes his hand off his throat. He takes a pad out of the first aid kit and presses it down over his wrist to stop the bleeding and he tries to shuffle a cushion into his lap to hide his bulge. Jimin next to him is trying to regain his composure and he moves to the furthest end of the sofa again.
“Thank you”, he says after has gathered himself.
“No worries”, Hoseok says as he bandages up his wrist.
“I’m sorry, I lost control a little”, Jimin admits.
“It’s okay, you haven't eaten in days”, Hoseok offers him a smile.
They sit in silence, not even looking at each other, the knowledge that they really needed to talk, hanging heavy over them.
“Why haven’t you eaten in so long?” Hoseok asks.
There’s a pause before Jimin takes a deep breath and answers.
“That’s not so easy to explain”, he begins.
“We have time.”
“After what had happened at the club the other day, I didn’t want to go back. It felt so wrong. The way you looked at me just before you left was just, it made me feel…made me feel like a monster”, he says the last part very quietly.
“Jimin, I’m so sorry, I didn’t mean to make you feel like that”, Hoseok immediately tells him.
“It’s fine, I know what I am, it’s just been a long time since someone I…cared about, looked at me like that”, Jimin tells him without looking at him.
“I didn't mean to do that at all, I don’t want to ever make you feel like that again, I am so sorry”, Hoseok apologises.
“It’s okay, don’t worry, hyung”, the vampire mumbles, voice sounding almost watery.
“Hey, Jimin-ah, look at me”, he requests.
The vampire slowly turns his head towards him.
“I am truly so sorry, and I want you to know that you being a vampire doesn’t change anything about how I feel about you”, Hoseok says in a genuine tone.
Jimin looks at him a little confused.
“What do you mean how you feel about me?”, he asks.
Here goes nothing, Hoseok thinks to himself.
“I like you”, he blurts out.
Hoseok scans Jimin’s face and watches his eyes widen and then they start to form a crescent moon and a smile spreads out across his face.
“I like you too, hyung”, Jimin smiles.
Now it is Hoseok’s turn for his eyes to widen and confusion to flash across his face.
“Wait! What?”
Jimin giggles and it truly sounds like music to Hoseok’s ears.
“Yes, hyung, I like you too! I have for a long time”, Jimin continues to smile.
“I don’t even know what to say”, he admits and feels a blush creeping onto his cheeks.
“Why don't you say anything but rather kiss me?” Jimin suggests as he moves closer.
Hoseok doesn’t have to be told twice and he leans in to connect their lips. It’s a slow kiss, just lips moving against each other, no tongue for now. They pull away from each other after a short moment and just smile at each other.
“If I had known it would be this easy, I’d have confessed a long time ago”, Hoseok says.
“Me too”, Jimin giggles before leaning back in for another kiss.
It doesn’t take long for their kiss to turn more heated. Jimin licks his tongue across Hoseok’s bottom lip, asking for entrance which he is immediately granted. One of Hoseok’s hands finds its way into Jimin’s long dark hair, not pulling on the strands yet, just resting tangled in his hair. Their tongues dance along each other, exploring each other’s mouth, the wet heat and the smooth glide of spit slick lips; it all seems to go straight to Hoseok’s cock. He pulls away from the kiss for air and to ask Jimin about the bite. They’re panting into each other’s mouths and Jimin tries to get another kiss.
“Just a second, baby”, Hoseok says, the pet name easily rolling off his tongue.
“What’s up, hyung?”
“When you bit me earlier, uhm was it normal that I got, uhm, a little…excited”, Hoseok tries to get his point across.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t control my venom, I was so hungry”, Jimin apologises, but his statement makes Hoseok pull away.
“Wait, are you saying that your venom is like an aphrodisiac?”
“It can be.”
Hoseok sits back a little, his mind clouding with images of Jimin at the club making out with other people and possibly even having sex with them.
“What’s going on in that pretty head of yours?” Jimin asks.
“Have you slept with people at the club?” Hoseok asks directly.
Jimin pauses before he answers.
“Yes, I have, but I stopped after I met you”, he says and looks directly at Hoseok.
“I realised that I like you and I didn’t want to sleep with any of the people from the club anymore, I just went to feed from them”, Jimin continued.
“Thank you for being honest”, Hoseok says but his voice sounds waverly.
“I promise, I haven’t slept with anyone from the club in months. I always controlled my venom and only used enough to take the pain away”, Jimin tells him.
There’s a moment where Hoseok thinks about what Jimin said and then leans in for a kiss, which Jimin gladly accepts.
“I take it you believe me”, Jimin teases.
“Yeah, I do”, Hoseok says before he goes back in for another kiss.
They kiss for a long while, just enjoying each other’s presence. Jimin sucks on Hoseok’s lower lip, letting it glide between his teeth, scraping one of his fangs over the sensitive swollen flesh. Hoseok sighs into his mouth and connects their lips again, this time keeping his mouth a little parted which Jimin sees as the perfect invitation to let his tongue slide into the other's mouth.
Hoseok isn’t quite sure how it happened, but he finds himself straddling Jimin’s lap, his overshirt discarded and both his hands tugging on Jimin’s hair as they kiss and pant in between the kisses. One of Jimin’s hands sneaks under Hoseok’s top, feeling the smooth skin of his torso. Hoseok lets one of his hands slide from Jimin’s hair to press between his shoulder blades under his hoodie.
“Off”, he breathes into the vampire's mouth and pulls on the piece of clothing standing between him and a shirtless Jimin.
He takes his hoodie off and Hoseok gets rid of his black tank top and the second they’re done, they’re back to making out. This time, their hands roam freely over their exposed torso’s, their mouths swallowing every little sound that escapes them when a sensitive spot is touched. Hoseok trails his lips down Jimin’s neck and sucks on a sensitive spot right behind his ear while Jimin’s fingers roam over Hoseok’s torso and settle on his pecs, small fingers rolling his sensitive nipples between them. A particularly loud moan spills from his lips when one of his nipples is pinched. Hoseok subconsciously grinds his hips against Jimin, he doesn’t realise what he’s doing until a hand lands on his hips and Jimin moans loudly.
“Fuck, hyung, do that again”, Jimin pleads.
Hoseok connects their lips in a messy kiss that’s more teeth than anything, their spit slick lips clashing against another. His hands move from the vampire’s hair down to the waistband of his sweats.
“Please, can I?” he breaths into Jimin’s mouth.
“Yes, fuck, yeah, please!”
He pulls his sweatpants down just enough to get Jimin’s cock out. His hard length springs free and slaps against his toned stomach. Hoseok’s mouth waters at the sight of the head wet with precome and a beautiful shade of red.
“Can I suck you off?”, he asks quickly.
Jimin nods, not trusting his own voice and the next moment Hoseok shuffles off his lap and kneels on the floor between Jimin’s legs. He doesn’t give Jimin much time to get used to the sight before him, Hoseok immediately gets his mouth on the vampire’s cock. He licks a fat stripe up the underside before swirling his tongue on the head.
“Fuck, Hoba, so good”, Jimin groans out.
Hoseok doesn’t waste anymore time, he wants Jimin so bad, he’s waited months for this. He takes his cock into his mouth and works his tongue along the underside, putting pressure on the thick and prominent vein running along it. He takes it deeper into his mouth, down to his throat, makes himself gag for a moment just to hear Jimin moan louder than he has this entire time, when he feels the tightness around his cock.
“Ah, Hobi-hyung, won’t last, so good”, Jimin sounded so wrecked already and Hoseok can’t blame him, he also feels like he is losing his mind with how turned on he is.
He bobs his head up and down the length of the vampire’s cock, pays special attention to the head and swallows around it when he has him all down his throat. Jimin’s breathing is laboured and moans are falling from his lips non-stop. He just about manages to warn Hoseok that he’s going to cum before Hoseok feels him cum hot in his mouth. He swallows almost all of it and shuffles back into Jimin’s lap. He keeps a little bit of Jimin’s release in his mouth to give Jimin a taste of himself as he crashes their mouths together. The kiss is anything but chaste, it’s desperate, wet and messy.
“Wanna make you cum too”, Jimin pants into Hoseok’s mouth.
“Yes, please”, he all but moans when he guides Jimin’s hands to the waistband of his jeans.
Jimin makes quick work of them and gets his cock free. Hoseok sighs at the feeling of not being constrained anymore.
“Put that mouth back to good use and get my fingers all nice and wet”, Jimin requests and Hoseok takes his fingers into his mouth without protest. He drools all over them, licks and sucks on them like they’re the tastiest thing he’s ever had in his mouth. A close second after Jimin’s cock.
When Jimin deems them wet enough he pulls them out of Hoseok’s mouth and gets his hand on Hoseok’s cock. Hoseok whimpers at the stimulation, feeling so sensitive since the bite. He knows he won’t last. Jimin moves his hand at an achingly slow pace, always swiping his thumb over the head on the upstroke.
“Please Jimin, need it, won’t last”, Hoseok breathes in the small space between their mouths.
Jimin shows mercy on him and speeds up his movements. Hoseok's hips kick forward chasing that feeling of Jimin’s hand on him. He is already trembling, and can feel his orgasm so close.
“Gonna cum”, he moans.
Jimin pulls him closer and Hoseok doesn’t see it coming, but then he feels his fangs grazing his neck before biting down and he cums at the same time. His orgasm makes him black out for a short moment, he’s panting and collapses over Jimin’s body on the sofa, feeling Jimin lick at the bite on his neck. He gives him a moment to come down and even out his breathing.
“You okay, sweetheart?” Jimin asks while stroking his hair.
“Fuck, that was incredible”, Hoseok replies and it makes Jimin chuckle.
“I’m glad you enjoyed it, hyung”, he says and kisses him on the top of his head.
They lay in comfortable silence on the sofa for a moment before they decide they have to get up and clean up the mess they’ve made.
After cleaning up, they cuddle up in Hoseok’s bed.
“I would like to take you out on a date”, Jimin tells him as he traces invisible patterns on Hoseok’s arm.
“You just gave me the best orgasm ever and now you’re asking me out on a date”, Hoseok laughs.
“We’re just doing things a little different”, Jimin says, kissing Hoseok’s shoulder.
“I would love to go on a date with you”, Hoseok answers his earlier question and presses a chaste kiss to Jimin’s lips.
“How does tomorrow sound for you?”
“Perfect”, Hoseok smiles.
