Eddie sat on the fire escape stairs, shivering. He adjusted the beanie on his head and tugged his hoodie a little further over his shoulders as he leaned against. His teeth were chattering as he shivered against the stairs. His shaking hand pressed a pre rolled cigarette to his lips. The sound of traffic and yelling surrounded him. If he concentrated enough he could hear the neighbours yelling at each other. He pressed a trembling finger to his phone. No new messages. He let out a sigh, watching as a mix of cold air and cigarette smoke escaped him.
"Shit!"
Eddie's chestnut eyes lit up and he turned his head as he felt the steel jolt underneath him. "Stevie!" he pushed himself up, a toothy grin spreading across his face as he watched the brunette make his way up the stairs. "Nearly" Steve panted as he got to Eddie's floor. "Dropped the hot chocolate!" he held up the drinks in one hand. "Hurry up and put them down!" Eddie could feel a dull pain on his cheeks as he was unable to break his smile. "Alright, alright" Steve set the drinks and a brown paper bag on to the step.
Quickly he turned, wrapping his arms around Eddie's lithe waist and pulling him close. "You are freezing!" he pressed a few kisses on Eddie's cold, rose cheeks. "Why didn't you wait inside?" he asked. Eddie giggled, wrapping his arms loosely around Steve's shoulders. "I needed a cigarette and I've been missing you" he gently kissed Steve's lips then pulled back, looking at his open window. "Wanna get inside?"
Steve didn't need to say anymore as he let go and turned to grab their little lunch. "Wayne not coming back today?" he asked. "Nope, he said the shop is packed lately because of the Christmas rush so he might not even be able to have a break which is bullshit" Eddie grunted as he climbed through his bedroom window and slipped inside. A shiver ran down his spine as the warm sting hit his face. Steve tugged himself through. "I managed to get the brownies today!" he held up the bag.
Eddie paused his brief stripping of his hoodie to stare at the bag with childish glee. "The Christmas ones?!" he whispered with excitement. "The Christmas ones" Steve nodded, handing the bag to Eddie. Steve set the drinks down on the desk. There was a new patch being a pink one which surprised Steve until he read it. "The Pink Panther song really got to you, huh?" he nudged it, noting it was only half sewn on to the lapel.
"She's weird, dude, I can't not enjoy her" Eddie exclaimed and nudged the patch back in place. "We are watching The Nightmare before Christmas!" he picked up the remote, narrowly avoiding a few stray pins and sewing needles. "Again, babe?" Steve sighed. "Again! We are watching it until you have memorised every lyric" Eddie climbed on to his bed. "I do this because I love you" Steve stood back, tugging his snow covered jacket from his shoulders. "You sure Wayne isn't gonna be showing up?"
"One hundred percent!" Eddie spoke with a muffled voice, a decorated Christmas Tree shaped brownie between his plush lips. "Why are you so anxious?" he watched as Eddie climbed on the bed, kicking his feet underneath the blankets. "You know last time he saw me hear he chased me out of the building with a gun" Steve pointed out, slipping his arm around Eddie's shoulders. "He thought you were uh... you know" Eddie giggled.
"Well, we kinda were but like you consented so also not" Steve looked at the TV as the classic Halloween clash Christmas film began to play. Eddie smiled, pressing himself into Steve's side as the chill of December gradually began to melt away from the older man's warmth.
-*-
Eddie wasn't sure what movie was playing at this point. There were Christmas decorations and snow on some scenes so it was just another Christmas movie. A whimper escaped his puffed lips as he felt Steve's press over one of his nipples. Eddie bit down on his sleeve, turning his head against the pillow that rested behind his pillow. "S-Stevie" he murmured, thighs brushing up against the freckled man's hips.
"Fuck, baby, I don't wanna stop" Steve mumbled softly, kissing up the centre of Eddie's chest. "Don't want you to..." Eddie replied, resting a hand on the back of Steve's head. "Want more" his breath trembled. Steve had no plans to stop as he kissed back up to Eddie's neck, nipping and nudging his tongue against the skin. He moved a hand on to Eddie's stomach and slowly moved it down till it reached the waist band of Eddie's skinnies. "Hm, do it"
"You want more?" Steve asked, biting along Eddie's throat. Eddie hummed in response, letting out a soft moan as he felt the large hand cup over the crotch of his jeans. Steve pulled his head back, admiring the few faint bruises that now decorated Eddie's pale neck. "Your uncle is gonna kill me" he sighed, leaning back in, kissing over the marks. "I'll protect you-hm!" Eddie flicked his hips, pressing himself against Steve's palm. "Yes... yes! Steve-"
The door snapped open, hitting the wall behind it as Wayne stepped in with fire in his eyes. "What in the Hell are you doing back in my God damn apartment?!" he roared.
"Oh, shit!" Steve cursed, tearing himself from the scrawny teen underneath him. "Hey, Wayne!" he grabbed a hold of his jacket and boots, stumbling towards the window. "How many times do I have to tell ya', boy?!" Wayne made a beeline for Steve only to get knocked back by Eddie, pressing into him. "I told you to keep your entitled ass away from my boy!" he gripped Eddie's shoulder though not tightly as he glared at Steve.
"I'm sorry again, sir!" Steve called out, nearly slipping as his socks quickly grew damp from the snow. He took off down the stairs. "Love you, Eddie!" he yelled in the hopes the metal head would hear him. He would always text him it later if not.
Eddie sighed, loosening his grip around Wayne as he pulled himself away. "Eddie" Wayne did not let go of his shoulder. "What have I told you about the Harrington boy?" he looked down at Eddie with a soft glare. "He's not like Tristan, ok?" Eddie folded his arms and turned his head away, avoiding looking at his protective uncle. Eddie flinched and nudged Wayne's hand from his hair. "Stop, they're not bruises!" he stepped away in frustration.
"I told you that you two couldn't see each other" Wayne watched as Eddie walked back to his bed. "Those money hoarding people are all the same, Eddie, it didn't end well last time, remember?" he pinched the bridge of his nose as he thought over the night he was called to the hospital. A bruised, cut up Eddie wired up in a hospital bed haunted his memory. "I'm... there was a robbery so I'm home for a few days, I'm ordering dinner tonight"
Eddie ignored him, holding the pillow that Steve had been leaning on against his chest. He just huffed and turned on his side, locking his eyes with the window. Silence remained between the two and Eddie closed his eyes as he heard Wayne's footsteps move towards the door. "He's different" he whispered, burying his face in the pillow. Eddie's phone pinged.
"everything good?? xx"
The metal head's heart fluttered and he smiled faintly, unlocking his phone.
"no i got blue balls"
"im sry baby xx"
"not your fault its his!! i want him to like you but cuz of trist he wont let it go..."
Eddie watched as the dotted lines came up and sighed as he heard his name. "Eddie, can you get out here?" Wayne called out. Eddie ignored him, pressing his lips against the pillow. "Now or I'm coming in there!" that threat was not empty. Eddie groaned and slammed his pillow to the side, climbing out of the bed. "What is it now?!" he yelled in frustration, yanking his bedroom door open.
"Drop the attitude, son, we need to talk about this!" Wayne glared, leaning his arm against the fridge.
"No, we do not! There's nothing wrong with Steve!"
"You said that about Tristan"
"And I was wrong about Tristan but I'm right about Steve, why don't you trust me?!" Eddie slammed his hand against the kitchen counter in frustration. "Forget it, this is going nowhere.." he turned away only to be pulled back.
"Look at me, Eddie" Wayne didn't grip his arm, just held it enough to prevent Eddie from moving. Eddie shook his head, using his curls as a curtain to hide from Eddie. "Eddie, do you remember the pictures? Of you in that hospital bed, beaten black and blue, wires coming out everywhere?" he asked, voice stern. "Because I do, I remember that day clearly and how you struggled to open one of your eyes because it was so swollen"
Some guilt fell on Eddie's shoulders and he swallowed. "He's not..." his voice cracked. "He's not Tristan..." he whispered, clenching his fists. He blinked back tears and kept his eyes locked on the counter, wanting to look anywhere but Wayne's face. He could feel the disappointment burning into his skull. "He loves me, he listens to me..."
"The entitlement is the same no matter who you go to" Wayne finally let go of his arm. "I don't want to see him here again, next time I catch him here I'm calling the police" he stepped away from Eddie. He turned back to the coffee machine, letting out a heavy sigh to force himself to calm down. The drop in his chest only returned when he heard a small sigh from the rebel.
"Why can't you just let me be happy?" Eddie turned, leaving the kitchen and leaving Wayne to stare at a coffee machine he no longer wanted to work with anymore. He sighed, leaning his hands on the counter, thinking back to that night. The terror and anger that ran around its gut like a loose rat in a store room.

Eddie stares at his Discord page, leaning back in his numerous pillows. He bit the inside of his bottom lip watching as Steve began to type. He pushed his boxer briefs further down his thighs as he tilted his head, stomach fluttering with excitement.
Mother of Six Nuggets: i wanted to eat you out
THE FREAK: whyyyy do you love my ass so much??
THE FREAK: i wish you coulda
THE FREAK: i love it when you eat me
Mother of Six Nuggets: love how much you squirm and whimper
THE FREAK: stevieeee
THE FREAK: tell me what you were gonna do to me
THE FREAK: please please im so hard
Eddie sent a picture this time. He tugged the front of his shirt down, covering his crotch to tease Steve. There were a few very faint pink marks on his inner thighs.
Mother of Six Nuggets: wanted to kiss all over your body bite your chest your hips your thighs
THE FREAK: you know i cant handle that!!
Mother of Six Nuggets: you whimper its cute
THE FREAK: we should 69 ;)
Mother of Six Nuggets: you wouldnt be able to concentrate baby youd be moaning around my dick while i eat you out
Mother of Six Nuggets: call?? wanna hear you moaning my name
THE FREAK: yes a thousand times yes!!
Eddie pushed his laptop towards the end of the bed and turned to his bedside cabinet quickly grabbing his phone. He pressed his thumb down to unlock it and leaned back into his pillows. He pressed his thumb down, a grin peaking through as the call option appeared quickly. He pressed answer and tucked his phone between his shoulder and head. "Well hello, King Steve" he practically purred into the phone.
"Hello, Freak Munson" Steve's voice was husky. There was a slight pant as he spoke. "Stroking that pretty cock of yours?" he asked though he already knew the answer. "Bet you are, being my little whore" Steve smirked as he heard Eddie moan in response. "If I was there right now you wouldn't need to touch yourself, Eddie, keep your hands down as I push your thighs back"
The desperate twink thought back to the last time Steve had done that. He remembered how it felt after what seemed like hours of teasing; like a spike of electricity running through his body as Steve finally pleasured him. Eddie turned over on his front, shifting his knees. He imagined Steve taking him from behind. "W-Would you fuck me on my knees?" he asked, breathlessly as he stroked himself agonisingly slowly.
"I'd be able to pull that pretty hair of yours" Steve's voice had picked up slightly with a shake. He wasn't holding back on his own pleasure, clearly enjoying the thoughts he was having about ravishing Eddie's scrawny body. "Watch my cock ram into your little hole"
Eddie's voice picked up as did his hand. "Fuck, yes, please, Steve, want you deep inside of me-" the door slammed open and Eddie sat up on his knees, looking over at the door with wide eyes. "O-Oh fuck" he scrambled to pull his boxers up with one hand, moving back on the bed. "W-wait-" he stuttered, cheeks red with embarrassment as he moved the phone out of his uncle's reach. "Please, don't-"
Wayne stormed over, eyes narrowed and grabbed Eddie's wrist. "Ow! Ow! Shit, no stop!" Eddie tightened his grip on the phone. Wayne forced the phone from Eddie's hand and yanked it away. His hand brushed over the speaker option and Steve's voice immediately filled the silence.
"Gonna fuck your tight hole so hard you'll be screaming and sobbing with each thrust like the little whore you are"
"You aren't doing shit to my boy, Harrington" Wayne hissed as he stared at the phone. Silence filled the room again. "Uncle Wayne, please-" Eddie was quickly shushed by Wayne. "You're damn lucky Edward is barely legal because I would've reported your ass for grooming by now! Stay away from my nephew or else" he hung up and pressed to close Eddie's screen. "What did I tell you about continuing this shit with Harrington?!" he raised his voice properly for the first time at Eddie. "I said that this couldn't continue for your own safety!" he didn't give Eddie's phone back, keeping it in his grip.
"I'm eighteen! You don't get to boss me around!" Eddie yelled back. "He's done nothing to harm me! Nothing! You're overreact-" he was cut off by his uncle suddenly raising his hand, palm facing him. It wasn't a hit but it could've been with how quickly Eddie flinched and stumbled back on his bed. "I just heard him talk about raping you until you were crying so don't you dare tell me I'm overreacting here!" Wayne stepped away from the bed. "You can have your phone back in the morning" he walked out of the room, feet stamping against the floor as he went. Eddie stared with his jaw dropped, cheeks flustered with a mix of embarrassment and frustration.
Eddie looked over at his laptop, watching as messages began to appear. He tugged his laptop to him, pulling it on his lap. He started typing then paused as he stared down at his hands. There were a few drops on the back of his palms. He didn't realise he was crying till he noticed those tears. He pushed the laptop away quickly forgetting about Steve's messages and tugged his sleeves over his palms, wiping away the tears. He was embarrassed, ashamed and upset that Wayne just wouldn't approve of Eddie's new relationship. He pressed his face into his palms, letting out a muffled sob. He wanted to hate Wayne for this but he understood why his uncle was like this in the first place.

Steve moved his gloved hands over Eddie's holding him in his arms from behind. "I'm still really sorry about what happened, Eddie" he rested his chin on Eddie's shoulder. Eddie relaxed in Steve's arms, brushing his thumb over the lid of the hot chocolate he was holding. "It's not your fault, big boy, its his" he sighed. He flinched hearing the sudden ring of a bell. The charity Santa Claus calling out for donations. "He just can't let what happened to me go! The only other adult male in my life he hasn't chased off is because he's straight..." he grumbled, thinking about how Gareth had to prove his sexuality just to keep in contact with Eddie.
"I don't blame him you know" Steve could practically hear the eye roll coming from the younger man. "I can hear that" he mumbled and pulled his chin away. He gently nudged Eddie, forcing him to turn and face him. He rested his forehead against the metal head's, resting his hand on top of the scruff of bangs and the beanie. "You nearly died, baby, you nearly died" he pointed out. Eddie's shoulders slouched as he thought about how heavy it felt to have that on his shoulders. "I know but you aren't..." he trailed off and just brought the cup to his lips. Steve lightly kissed Eddie's forehead and pulled away. "Diner date?" Eddie nodded.
Steve interlocked his fingers with Eddie's gently tugging him away from the hot chocolate kiosk. He could feel the chill from the tips of Eddie's fingers. "I know you like the alt look" he started, smiling as a groan came from his other half. "Then let me keep the alt look-" Steve interrupted him quickly. "Your finger tips are bright red! Let me buy you some gloves but you have to promise me you won't cut off the finger tips" Steve squeezed his hand lightly.
Eddie pressed his lips together suddenly in thought. He did recall how much his hands seemed to burn whenever coming inside from the cold. Maybe some full gloves would be a good idea. "Alright, fine but they have to match my outfit!" he replied, nodding his head.
Steve paused just as he was about to step front of the diner and turned looking down at Eddie. Black skinny jeans, Doc Martens with roses on the side - they made Eddie think of Axl Rose - a thick, baggy black hoodie with his battle vest on top add on the beanie and the fingerless gloves. "I think a pair of black ones will do just fine" he tugged Eddie forward. "Not with the fingers on, Stevie, not with the fingers oooon!" Eddie whined, dragging his feet slightly. Steve chuckled softly and pushed the door to the diner open. Despite the busy season there were some booths available.
The smell of fries, burgers and more hit the boys full force as did the wall of heat. The sting of the heat brushing around Eddie's finger tips took over him too. He cursed under his breath, quickly following Steve to an empty booth. Steve swayed his hips lightly, bobbing his head to the song jingle bell rock. Eddie smiled, setting his hot chocolate down and began to sway himself as he sat down, humming along. "Oh, I should do a guitar cover of this! Make it actually sound like rock, ya' know?" he shivered lightly and then tugged his zipper down.
Steve smiled and nodded. "You're getting a decent following you know, might make you a real rock star" he tugged his coat off and leaned over dropping it on the seat. "Or..." Steve stared down at Eddie with soft eyes and smiled faintly. "You know what? You practically are a rock star already" he sat down in the booth, just across from the metal head with a smile. He chuckled watching a blush run over Eddie's cheeks. "What? You are including aesthetically, ya' know?" you gestured to the diner, the messiness of Eddie's distressed clothing and the grim weather outside.
Eddie looked out the window and tilted his head. "It's not that grim" he smiled faintly and leaned back in the booth, admiring the snow walls, the Christmas lights that were quickly building up and lighting up the streets. "I like it when there's just a blanket of snow" he finally turned, tugging off his gloves off and setting them down. "I remember first Christmas I spent with Wayne" he licked his lips, leaning his elbows on the table. "He took me to a diner, you know Cathy's?" he asked.
"Cathy's! I ate there once when I was skipping school" Steve nodded, clasping his hands together. "It was tasty and a lot better than the shit they were serving at school and if I wasn't terrified of boarding school I would've eaten there more often" he skipped over the drinks menu as he already had a good idea of what Eddie was going to ask for. He learned to look out for those things pretty quickly so he could fall in love with Eddie's glee over and over again.
Eddie nodded and tilted his head a little as he looked at his slowly emptying hot chocolate. "I hadn't really had fun in the snow before and I was about fourteen? Maybe thirteen? Dad had just gone to jail and I just lost my mother and I still was so tense despite being somewhere safe" he pressed his lips together. "And there wasn't a lot of snow in the places we would 'live' in" he lifted his hands doing air quotes. "Finally let my guard down when I looked outside and uncle Wayne just put a mug of hot chocolate in front of me with cream and sprinkles and I smiled so damn hard my jaw hurt!" he chuckled to himself, thinking over the memory.
His heart fluttered with warmth but it was quickly replaced with a heart dropping sadness. "Things are tense again aren't they?" Steve asked. He felt a twinge of embarrassment as he thought back to when he heard Wayne's voice over Discord. "Look, maybe we just need to keep it on the low around him until he calms down a little more" he suggested. He braced himself when Eddie glared at him and tapped the now empty paper cup on the table. "It's been just over a year, right? He's just as traumatised as you and we both know that's valid, he's just scared that he might lose you like he almost did before"
Eddie sighed softly and leaned his head back, looking up at the ceiling. "I... Ok, you're right" he sat up. "But the more he fights me about you the more likely he's going to lose me! You aren't Tristan-" he paused as a waitress stepped by. Before he could even speak Steve spoke for him, ordering his beloved strawberry milkshake. She stepped away from the table. "Anyway, you aren't Tristan" Eddie put his hand on the table and quickly found comfort as Steve took it. "You're better than him because you freak out if I so much as wince over such small very minor pain and I..." he squeezed Steve's hand. "I just wish he could see the you that I know"
Steve's heart fell and leaned forward, bringing Eddie's fingers to his lips. "He will one day" he assured him and leaned back in the seat. "He can't hold you in bubble wrap forever, alright?" he could feel Eddie trembling. "Go have a cigarette, a breather, I'll order and then afterwards ice skating" he grinned.
Eddie smiled and nodded. "Alright" he pushed himself, leaving his jacket on the seat. "Oh, ask for extra cheese" he referred to his usual order as he dug in his hoodie pocket for his pack and lighter. He stepped away from the table and walked to the door. The cold hit him full force and for a moment he briefly regretted not grabbing his jacket though he reminded himself he wasn't going to be outside for long.
"Eddie!"
His head snapped in the direction of the all too familiar voice. Forcing a smile on his face Eddie flipped open the box. "Hey, uncle Wayne" he turned with a smile. "Finally managed to get a break, huh?" he asked and held the box out to him. Wayne gladly took the cigarette. "Yeah, only got twenty minutes though so I thought I'd get some air" he stood by Eddie, pulling out his own Bic lighter. "Where's your jacket?"
"Oh it's... it's inside..." Eddie trailed off and tensed up as Wayne froze and turned his head, looking up at Eddie. Eddie didn't need to look at him to know his beloved uncle was glaring daggers at his head. "Please, don't be mad" his voice shook. He wrapped his lips around the cigarette, quickly sucking in the toxic smoke. "I don't get how many times I have to... to tell you that Steve is not Tristan" he looked down at the cancerous stick. The silence that fell between the two was heavy. Tears welled up in Eddie's eyes as Wayne stepped away from him, not saying a word and continued on his brief walk. Eddie was snapped out of his silence when his phone pinged.
"guess the breather will be over cheese fries and fried chicken?? xx"
There was an image of Eddie's food being set down at his place on the table. Eddie smiled faintly and lifted his hand, wiping his eyes on the back of his wrists. He stubbed the cigarette out on top of the bin, walking back into the diner. The warm was less harsh, more welcoming than before as he had only been outside for just a few minutes. He walked back to the booth and slapped his hands together, rubbing them. "Fuck, I've never felt so hungry" he sighed, setting himself down.

The scratching of the blades of the ice skates were running around Eddie as he held on to Steve's hand tightly. "If I break a bone, you are not touching me for a week, you hear me?" Eddie chuckled, nearly slipping as he pushed himself forward. "You'll get the hang of it, I promise, I did too" Steve encouraged him, pressing his hand against the small of the Bambi eyed boy's back to nudge him forward. "Yeah but there's a difference between you and me" Eddie squeaked, holding on tightly to Steve. "You were an ice skater as a kid and me? I was stealing candy" the two giggled as they continued forward.
"Look, just don't think about it, just push forward and I promise I will help you with the best of my ability to keep you standing, alright?" Steve moved his hand from Eddie's back to his hand, holding it lightly. Eddie sucked in a breath, held it then slowly let it out. "That's it, that's it, you got it" Steve tugged him forward. "I'm having so many thoughts of just me falling on my ass or falling over and someone cutting my hands off with their ice skates!" Eddie rambled earning a belly of a laugh from Steve. "They don't sharpen them that much, you're fine! Just keep going, baby, we nearly have a perfect flow"
"Ain't that your boy?" Katherine, the younger partner of Wayne asked, fiddling with her walkie talkie. Wayne paused mid stir in his coffee and then continued stirring. "I don't wanna know what he's up to right now" he mumbled, gruff voice stained with disgust. "Jeez, something happen?" Katherine asked, curious. She looked over at the slowly moving couple and couldn't help but smile. Their happiness was contagious. "I don't approve of that boy, the Harrington kid" Wayne sighed, tapping the little wooden stick on the edge of the cup. "Told him, told him several times and he just won't listen!"
Katherine rolled her eyes. "You're still worried about that thing happening again, aren't you?" she asked. She chuckled softly watching as Steve pulled Eddie close, holding him in his arms to keep him from falling. The brown flicks of hair from the two seemed to create a halo with the golden light display in the background. Eddie threw his head back with a laugh as he gripped Steve tightly. "Wayne, look, look at them" she urged. Finally although reluctantly Wayne turned his head, looking over at the rink. His heart softened as he watched the young couple.
Steve held Eddie's waist with one hand and the other cupped his red cheek. Gently they span around in a slow circle with Steve guiding the movement. The way his lips moved indicated he was quietly singing a song. Eddie's chocolate eyes were bright, happy and the large toothy grin on his face almost pushed on to Wayne's the longer he stared. "That's not the prick who put Eddie in the hospital bed, that is a man who just wants to see Eddie smile" Katherine slapped a hand on Wayne's shoulder. "And you need to realise something" she sounded very serious in that moment. Enough for Wayne to look at her.
"If you hold on too tightly" she started, looking into Wayne's eyes. "You're going to lose him and if Harrington does turn out to be a monster in disguise then at least Edward knows he has someone to turn to, right?" she looked back at the dancing couple locked in a warm embrace. Wayne looked over at his beloved nephew and he sighed shrugging. "I'll... I'll consider it" he mumbled. He couldn't deny it; there was a spark that didn't exist within Eddie and Tristan's relationship. Tristan was rather possessive and even cold at random moments.
Even from far away Wayne could see the glimmer of happiness in Steve's eyes. The longer he stared at Eddie, listening to his laugh, his rambling, the more he seemed to fall deeper into the Bambi eyes. He leaned forward, lightly pressing a kiss on Eddie's brow. The next kiss was a peck on the corner of Eddie's toothy grin. He couldn't deny it any longer at this point. Eddie was happier than he had ever been when in a relationship with someone. "So, do you approve now?" Katherine asked, smiling. "He's too fucking old" her smile dropped as Wayne spoke. "Are you serious?!" she groaned in frustration.
"Steve?" Eddie rested his palms against Steve's chest. "Eddie" Steve responded. "I think I really love you" Eddie mumbled softly, a blush running across his cheeks. Steve moved his hand, brushing those unruly curls from Eddie's face. He leaned in and whispered in his ear. "I think I really love you too, Eds" Eddie's heart did soar! He tilted his head and brushed his lips against Steve's. The two closed their eyes finally closing the small gap and lightly kissed. Steve pulled away quietly reminding himself he couldn't deeply kiss the younger man in the middle of an ice rink. "Wanna try getting a little flow going?" he asked. Eddie nodded. "Just don't let me fall, ok?"
"I won't, I won't" Steve took a hold of Eddie's hand and the two set off, gliding across the ice. Eddie seemed more confident now, picking up his speed as he went. Eddie squeezed his boyfriend's hand lightly. "You're doing fine, promise" Steve smiled, rubbing his thumb over the back of Eddie's hand. "Can we do this more often?" Eddie asked, lifting his head up long enough to look ahead of him. "I don't see why not! I'm enjoying myself" Steve looked at Eddie, smiling at his intense concentration. Eddie pressed his tongue to the corner of his lip. An odd little habit he had to increase his concentration. "Oh-!"
The tip of Eddie's ice skate was caught in a very small dip. He toppled forward, hands gripping on to Steve as he fell forward. Steve let out a yelp and twisted in an attempt to try and grab Eddie's arms and stop him from falling only for his own ice skate to catch on the same dip and send him falling backwards. He landed with a thump on his bottom with Eddie following. Steve was knocked back on his elbow though his other hand wrapped around Eddie's waist. Eddie landed on his knees, one hand smacking against the ice. The two froze, staring at each other in silence until they both began to crack giggling from the fall.
"Alright, how about a romantic walk through the park?" Steve asked, breathless. Eddie giggled and nodded. "I'm so sorry" he snorted, pushing himself up. Steve having experience quickly stood up and held out his hand, gently tugging Eddie to his feet. Eddie nodded. "Could use hot chocolate and marshmallows" he wobbled as he slowly stood. "You're gonna turn into a hot chocolate at this point!" Steve rolled his eyes and gently tugged Eddie towards one of the exit gates. "Tis the season, big boy, why don't you drink me later?" Eddie purred, leaning his shoulder against Steve's. "Wayne has another late shift, right?"
-*-
Eddie ducked as a snowball came towards him. "Hah, missed, loser!" he yelled, patting the snowball he held in his hands. He threw it up and caught it, stepping back as he watched Steve gather up some snow. "If I hit you you have to call me King Steve for the rest of the date!" Steve chuckled. He lifted his head up and paused as a snowball came in contact with his own face. He blew some of the lakes from his lips. "Hah!" Eddie took a few steps back with a smirk on his lips. "Oh, its on, Munson" Steve lifted his hand and threw it forward.
A squeal escaped Eddie as he turned running forward. Like a cat he easily dodged the snow ball. Laughing in triumph as he skidded around the corner to the front of his apartment building. He scooped up some of the snow, patting into a rough shape of a ball and threw it as Steve rounded the corner. "Again! I come out on top!" he raised his arms above his head in triumph. He ducked into the doorway as Steve looked to throw another. The snowball hit the wall in front of him. "Missed again!" Steve grunted and skidded the corner. Eddie yelped in surprise and leaned his head back against the wall, laughing as Steve pinned him there.
"Fine, you win" Steve sighed, leaning his hand against the wall by Eddie's head. He was panting softly, letting his breath catch up with him. Eddie smiled and wrapped his calloused hand around Steve's scarf, gently tugging him forward. Steve took the hint, quickly catching his lips in Eddie's. The kiss started off slow, light. Soft little pecks. Steve's hands found their way to Eddie's hips, gripping them lightly. Eddie was the first to deepen the kiss, parting his own over Steve's to encourage him to move forward. He slipped his arms loosely around Steve's neck as he was pressed against the wall. Steve pulled his head back, kissing along Eddie's jaw. "Bedroom?" he asked, reaching his neck. Eddie hummed, nodding his head. "Bedroom" he breathed.
As the two disappeared into the building a car pulled up out front. "Thanks for the lift, Kate, I appreciate it really" Wayne unbuckled his seatbelt. "It's not a problem, Wayne, really" Katherine smiled. "Did you think about it a little more?" she asked. Wayne paused as he was about to open the door. "I don't know, Katherine, I'm... that day was very hard for me, heck not just the day but the whole few months were hard!" he dropped his hands in his lap.
"I remember seeing it in the newspaper" Katherine nodded, looking at the car in front of her. "I didn't recognise Eddie at all in those photos and I could only imagine how it looked in person" she recalled, tapping her fingers on the wheel. "But let's be real here, have you seen Eddie so happy before? So twitter pated, in love?" she asked, turning her head to look at Wayne. "You saw it, I know you did and I know you know Steve loves that boy far too much to even lay a finger on him" she pointed out the interaction from earlier.
Wayne paused for a moment and folded his arms as he thought over what he saw. "I know he won't and I've always known he won't because... look when I first saw Steve the first thing I witnessed was him lightly touching Eddie's cheek and when... When Eddie winced" he glanced at the building then at Katherine. "When Eddie winced Steve pulled his hand away like it was on fire and I saw apologies pour from that boy's mouth" he recalled. "I still couldn't help but feel anger, I was pissed because here there was another rich asshole putting his hands on my boy!" he exclaimed and sucked in a breath. "I just... I was pissed" he sighed.
"You can't keep him wrapped in cotton though" Katherine watched as Wayne rubbed his face. "I personally think Steve is good for him! Steve is a nice guy, he clearly was protecting Eddie on the ice and I bet you! I bet you he was the one buying food at the diner!" she nodded, grinning at Wayne. "He's got Steve wrapped around his finger" she finished. "Go in, talk to Eddie, ok? Talk! Not argue! Listen to him and maybe think about talking to Steve, you guys can't keep fighting about this forever, right?" she relaxed when Wayne nodded. "Go on, get inside! Cook with Eddie to get the edge off, you guys are good at cooking!"
Unbeknownst to Wayne or Eddie another clash would quickly be coming.
Eddie panted softly, eyes glazed over as he tilted his head back. The way Steve slowly moved his hands up Eddie's thighs, hips, trailing along his sides and up to his chest. Eddie arched his back to push his chest against those hands. "So hot" Steve breathed, admiring the ivory skin. He slowly trailed one of the hands down, fingers brushing over some pale stretch marks. "Feel so much deeper than before" Eddie breathed, leaning his hands back on Steve's thighs. "Look at you" Eddie brushed his thumb over Eddie's little pink nipple. "I wanna taste all of you, Eddie, just lay you back till you're twisting, withering underneath me"
A moan of pleasure escaped Eddie as he moved his hips. "Riding me like this, fuck, you're making so many of my wet dreams come true!" Steve leaned his head back against the pillows, closing his eyes. Eddie leaned down, slowing his hips. "I think you've ruined me... I can't imagine anyone being this deep inside me now" he chuckled, brushing back Steve's well groomed locks of hair. A smirk ran across Steve's lips and his hands gripped the fat on Eddie's thighs as he moved his hips. Eddie gasped, bracing himself as he gripped the headboard, scratching at the wood. "Stevie..." his voice trailed off into a pleasurable whimper.
"Like that, baby? My nice thick cock filling you?" Steve moved his hands up to Eddie's already bruised hips, holding the metal head still so he could easily take control. "Ah, Steve, Steve, love it... hm!" Eddie whimpered and tried to move his hips but Steve's grip was just too great, holding him in place so he couldn't chase the pleasure. "W-Want you to... to fill me.. fill me up!" he was stuttering, struggling to force a complete sentence out. Those pleasurable moans and whimpers were on the rise. "So good, baby, gonna empty every last drop inside your little hole" Steve lifted his head up, dragging his teeth over Eddie's throat.
Wayne closed the front door to the apartment and let in a sigh as he heard noises. "Crying again..." he shook his head and walked forward, dropping his worn backpack on an arm chair. He stood in the centre of the living space listening to what he assumed to be were Eddie's distraught cries. He wondered if Eddie was sobbing over the fact that Wayne still refused to approve of Steve and then he began to wonder why Eddie waited for his approval. Would he have been this way if he was still in his father's custody? Wayne couldn't stand listening to the cries and turned, walking down the hallway and to the teenager's bedroom. He grabbed the door handle and pushed the door open. "Eddie, we need-"
Confusion jumped over Wayne he as he stared then a wave of disgust as he realised he was looking at his nephew's naked backside followed quickly by a wave of anger when he realised just why Eddie was whimpering.
"Shit, run! Run!" Eddie quickly tore himself off of Steve. Steve slipped from the bed, tugging his jeans up quickly and grabbing a hold of a yellow sweater. "What the hell did I say about-" before Wayne could finish his yell Eddie interrupted him. "Why the fuck can't you just knock?!" he yelled, kneeling on the bed, holding a cushion in front of his crotch to hide himself from Wayne. He leaned over grabbing a hold of Wayne's jacket to prevent him from following Steve out of the window. "No! No, you're not hurting him! I consented!" he yelled. Wayne cursed under his breath, glaring as he watched Steve rush down the fire escape stairs half dressed.
"Get dressed, I'll be cooking shortly and you're gonna be helping me" Wayne's voice seemed to void of any emotion as he forced himself to hold it together. He stepped away from Eddie, walking back out of the room and left the boy to his thoughts. Eddie sighed, sitting back on his legs. He flinched hearing the door slam and shook his head. He sucked in a breath and looked down at his hands as he began to realise he was shaking.
Katherine twisted the keys, starting up the car only to pause as she got ready to pull out. She watched with wide eyes as Steve ran past, buckling his belt, stumbling over his untied laces. "God damn it, Wayne" she sighed, burying her face into her hands.
Eddie adjusted the sleeves to his hoodie and stepped out into the hallway. He was shaking and trying to calm himself by humming a song but it didn't seemed to end as he stepped into view of Wayne who was setting up a cutting board. He paused and looked over at Eddie. "I'm sorry..." he whispered softly. Wayne breathed through his nose and stepped forward, gently tugging Eddie into a hug. "I'm not gonna scold you, you're right, you are eighteen after all" he cupped the back of the surprised teenager's head then pulled away, resting his hands on his shoulders. "Making broccoli cheddar soup, wanna help?" he asked. Eddie nodded.
It made a change from how it sounded like he was being ordered to do so earlier. "Are you gonna tell me I can't... I can't see him?" Eddie asked, picking up one of the knives. Wayne set down a few carrots and a head of broccoli. "No actually" Wayne turned, setting up a pot to boil a couple of chicken breasts. Eddie paused as he was about to cut the broccoli stem. "No?" he was shocked to the say the least. He turned, looking at Wayne with his wide button eyes. "Then... then what...." he trailed off, still in disbelief.
Wayne clicked the hob on and stepped back, leaning on the counter. "Tomorrow's Christmas Eve and I thought maybe you can bring Steve to dinner and I could get to know him a little" he forced it out words weighing heavy. He knew he had to do this. "I'm doing this for you and I love you like you are my own son" he turned, looking at Eddie, watching as he carefully cut the carrot into chunks. "So are you starting to see then?" Eddie asked, moving his hands over the carrots and dropping them into a colander. "That he's a good person?" Eddie turned, a glimmer of hope on his features.
The expression dropped quickly and changed into a glare. "You don't think he's a good person" he folded his arms.
"I didn't say that"
"You don't have to! I can see it! Why don't you believe he's good to me? He took me ice skating today and he bought lunch!"
"Tristan bought you lunch too! And he still threw a fist at you!"
Silence fell between the two. "You are never going to stop comparing him to Tristan, are you?" Eddie asked, quiet. He lowered his head. "Eddie... you have to understand, you nearly died that night and I nearly lost my boy" Wayne set a hand down on his nephew's shoulder. "I want to see you happy and I want to see you safe" he squeezed it lightly then pulled his hand away. "That's why I'm willing to try and find the Steve that you know and love" he finished. "But if I see you two fucking in the apartment again I'm hanging him over the fire escape by his ankles" this earned a snort from Eddie. "Ok, ok, I'll ask him while the soup cooks"

"Whew! I'm nervous!" Steve exclaimed as he stared at the doors to the restaurant. "I know, Jesus, I am too! Terrified even" Eddie pushed the glass doors open. "But... Well, shit, he's trying and I really want him to know the real you and not the you that's... that's in his head" he went quiet. Steve walked in and stopped by the door. He tugged Eddie towards him, wrapping an arm around his shoulders. "If he comes at me you are going to be a human shield" he announced. Eddie walked forward, resting his hand over Steve's. "I will protect you as much as I can" it was a promise. Steve didn't deserve the treatment he was receiving from Wayne.
Wayne was sat on one side of the booth. A mix of casual dressing and somewhat nice. He wore a grey button up with a darker shade cardigan. Steve had worn a Levi's sweater with a black polo shirt underneath and a pair of blue jeans. Eddie being Eddie wore a Bring Me The Horizon t-shirt but jeans without any holes and a pair of his nicer newer sneakers. "Why didn't you make an effort to dress like ya' man here?" Wayne questioned. Steve pressed his lips together holding in a laugh as he sat down in the booth followed by Eddie soon after.
"Thank you, mister Munson, for giving me this opportunity to meet you" Steve started, breaking the silence. "Wayne, call me Wayne because mister Munson makes me feel old" Wayne scrunched his face and rested his elbows on the table. "Course, sorry, Wayne" Steve was tense. Eddie tilted his head and nudged his pinky finger up against Steve's. Steve took the hint and quickly moved his hand, linking his fingers with Eddie's. The assuring hold helped Steve to feel a little braver. "So, what drinks are there?" he asked.
"Eddie, why don't you go order the drinks?" Wayne asked. Steve could hear the alarm bells ringing in his mind. Eddie was hesitant and then nodded. "Just... just be nice to him, ok?" he gave Wayne a narrow look then pushed himself up from his seat. The two men watched as Eddie walked away. Wayne looked over at Steve to see where his eyes were. He was half expecting Steve to be ogling his nephew but was surprised to see Steve looking at the back of Eddie's head with a worried expression.
"So, I want to make one thing clear"
Steve turned sharply, sitting with his back straight as he stared at Wayne with alert. "I don't want to hear a single bit of violence against Eddie, alright?" he started. "Because I will come after you and I will put you in the ground myself" that promise was not empty. Steve was scared but at the same time he also understood. He must've felt so guilty. "Did he tell you?" Steve asked. "Tell me what?" ok, so he didn't. "I was there that day in the hospital" Steve started and swallowed. He licked his lips becoming aware of just how dry everything felt. Wayne felt like he had been smacked in the face. "You were?" he raised a brow.
"Yeah" Steve nodded. "I'm the one who found him" he clasped his hands together, leaning on the table top. He twiddled his thumbs together. "I wasn't alone of course, I was with my best friend and we thought he was dead at first" he looked at Wayne, this time make eye contact. He wanted to laugh as he saw Wayne's eyes so wide. He pushed the smile back. "I wanted to stick around, really, I did! They said it was family only and suddenly a high profile case so I left but my friend, she knew who he was and I waited for any updates through her" he recalled, asking Robin constantly for anything from Eddie to the point he started to stalk the teenager's social media.
"The police never told me who bought Eddie in and I never asked" Wayne's body visibly relaxed and he finally cracked a smile. "I always assumed it was an ambulance that was lucky to get there in time" he chuckled softly. This made a big change for Wayne's opinion on Steve. The man he had been chasing away from his nephew was the very one who had saved him. "I'm sorry for treating you badly" he finally apologised. "It'll take some time to... to get used to ya' but I'll work on it" he decided. "I'm not doing this for you, I'm doing this for Eddie" he finished. Steve grinned "Would it help if I told you a few funny stories about him?"
Eddie thanked whatever Gods existed for giving him long fingers as he picked up the drinks. He turned and paused. For a moment he was in disbelief as he saw Wayne, arms folded, laughing at something that Steve was talking about. He watched as Steve eventually cracked, leaning his head back as he began to laugh away. Eddie smiled at the two and stepped forward, walking back to the table with the hope that this meant to the future was now a little brighter.

Eddie's head was a buzz of thoughts. He sat on the windowsill ledge, legs hooked over, tips of his boots grazing at the steel floor underneath. He could faintly hear Fairytale of New York playing on the TV. He hummed along to the tune, swaying slightly. "Eddie, baby, it is freezing" he looked over his shoulder as he saw Steve step into the bedroom. "I know but I was just... thinking about when you first came here" he looked back out to the streets then lifted his head, looking up at the moon. It was full, bright and it seemed to make the snow glow.
Steve smiled and walked over, hooking his legs over the ledge and setting himself down next to Eddie. "I remember watching you gripping the railing like you were expecting it to snap" Eddie snorted and leaned his head on Steve's shoulder. "So, this is good, right? You and my uncle getting along" he rested his hand on Steve's thigh. "I'd say so" Steve nodded, looking up at the moon. "He didn't know it was me who took you to the hospital" he started. "No one ever told him and he just thought it was an ambulance" he moved his hand, tangling his fingers into the younger man's curls. "Why didn't I tell him myself? That would've helped, Jesus!" Eddie groaned with annoyance.
"You don't think properly when you're stressed, you ramble and panic" Steve pointed out. He looked down at Eddie and then stood up, dragging Eddie to his feet with him. "Hey..!" Eddie stumbled and was tugged into Steve's arms. "We can finally be together now, properly" the king stared at the freak with a twinkle in his eye. Eddie nodded and leaned his chin on Steve's chest. Eventually Eddie straightened his back, nearly level with Steve's height and wrapped his arms around his neck. The two lightly swayed together listening to Fairytale of New York play faintly from Eddie's bedroom. "I love you, Stevie"
"And I love you, Eddie.. oh" Steve lifted his head, looking up at the sky as tiny flakes began to flutter down around them. "The snow loves you too" he looked back at Eddie, looking into his Bambi eyes. Eddie giggled faintly and tilted his head back sticking his tongue out to catch a snowflake. Steve took this opportunity to place a few feather kisses on Eddie's now exposed neck. Eddie giggled, gripping the front of Steve's hoodie. "Steve!" he whined. Steve pulled his head away, looking at Eddie with a warm smile. The two stared for a moment, nothing but the soft silence and Christmas music playing around them.
The two leaned in, locking their lips for a much needed kiss. Eddie wasted no time as he let Steve in, making a soft noise as he felt Steve's tongue push along side his own. The eager metal head was gently nudged back till he felt the windowsill hit the back of his legs. "Hm, bed?" he spoke between kisses. Steve nodded pulling away. "Bed now" he stepped through the open window and tugged Eddie through.
No time was wasted as the clothing dropped to the floor. The few Christmas lights from outside and decorating Eddie's room made his pale skin glow. Steve stared down at him admiring those brown curls spread out on the pillow, the few faint marks he had left just days before. The way Eddie's thighs were brushing up against his hips. "Don't stare for too long" Eddie whispered softly. "I want you, big boy" he held his arms out. Steve leaned in, lips immediately latching on to unmarked skin on Eddie's neck. Eddie couldn't help but start arching his back as Steve's head moved to his chest. "So good..."
"You feel so good" Steve mumbled, lips brushing over soft and sensitive skin. He moved a hand between their bodies pressing his free one against the pillows. He tilted his head to the side as he watched Eddie's blissful expression quickly changed. He gasped, eyes opening wide. "Steve..." he closed his eyes and pressed his lips against the back of his hand. "Hey, hey, don't" Steve tugged Eddie's hand away, pressing it against the bed. "Wanna hear you" he moved his hips earning a soft whimper from Eddie. "You look so beautiful like this, Eds"
Steve couldn't help but watch as Eddie's face twisted with pleasure. He leaned down, kissing along Eddie's collar bone. Eddie dragged his nails down Steve's back and locked his ankles together as he wrapped his legs around his waist. "Love it, love it, love you" Eddie panted, brushing his fingers in Steve's hair, tugging it lightly. The pleasure was building with each movement. He soon became away of his own name being whispered against his skin. Eddie tilted his head back, crying out as the pleasure rushed through his body. Steve gripped the pillow with force, groaning as he pressed himself deep inside of the metal head.
Eddie relaxed, letting his body lay limp against the mattress. "Fuck... felt so good" he whispered softly, a breathless chuckle escaping him. Steve leaned on his elbows above Eddie, smiling down at him. "Your hair is stuck to your forehead" he noted, looking at Eddie's bangs plastered with sweat against his skin. "Could say the same about you" Eddie smiled, lifting his hand and gently ruffling Steve's loose hair. "Huh" Steve lifted his head, glancing at the digital clock on the bedside cabinet. "Merry Christmas" he looked back down at Eddie. Eddie cupped Steve's cheek, smiling warmingly with nothing but love in his eyes. "Merry Christmas, Steve"
