Work Text:
You sat on the edge of the bathroom counter, in an attempt to be tall enough to successfully reach Corpse’s face, your legs on either side of him. Some of his streamer friends were having a New Year’s party, and you’d offered to do his eyeliner, but you hadn’t anticipated how nerve wracking it would be. Neither of you were talking, and the silence was deafening, at least to you. The two of you were so close, and you had one hand under his chin to direct his head when you needed to move it. The entire time, his eyes were trained on you, a small smile on his face as he could tell how nervous you were. You’d developed a crush on Corpse after two years of friendship, but hadn’t said anything to him yet, rationalizing that there was no way he felt the same. Using smooth, even strokes you slowly lined his dark eyes in black liner, and it was probably better than any eyeliner you’d done, even on yourself. As you worked, you found yourself feeling less and less nervous, just falling into the motions.
“Turn to the left a bit, I need to make sure they’re even.” You said softly, looking back and forth at the work you’d done so far. You huffed as he turned his head sharply to the left, the grin on his face widening.
“Very funny.” You deadpanned, and adjusted your grip on his chin, firmly turning his head where you wanted it. You didn’t think anything of it until you realized the smile had completely dropped from his face and he was avoiding your eyes. You studied his face, and noticed a slight tint to his cheeks, growing darker by the second. Now it was your turn to grin, tipping his chin up, forcing him to meet your eyes.
“Is everything okay Corpse?” You asked coyly, smiling softly as you still firmly held his chin. Eyes narrowed, he moved his hands from the countertop to your hips, causing you to hold back a surprised gasp.
“Everything’s great actually, are we almost done?” He asked, the smile back on his face now. You cleared your throat and loosened your hold on his face, leaning back a bit to put a little distance between you.
“Yeah, almost. Just a little longer.” You mumbled, cheeks hot. His hands didn’t move from their place on your hips, making it that much harder to focus, but you steeled yourself and finished up as quickly as you could without ruining the work you’d put in so far. Once you finished, your hands fell to your lap and you leaned back, “There, all done. What do you think?” You asked nervously, hands twisting in your lap. His eyes met yours before he leaned to the side to glance in the mirror behind you. After a few seconds, he turned back towards you and smiled again, but softer this time.
“It looks perfect.” He murmured, squeezing your hips once before he let go entirely, stepping away from the counter. “Y’know, you should come with me.” He stated right before leaving the room, and leaving you reeling on the counter. What the hell was that?
