Noe witnesses Vanitas' hair growing longer and longer with the years they spend together; he sees the way he changes - the small things sticking out the most.
"I've grown fonder of sweets," he says, and Noe doesn't believe him until Vanitas asks him to bring back some desserts from work.
Noe does it, because he can't bring himself to tell him no.
"You drink a lot more tea than you usually do," Noe notes out loud one night as Vanitas dips the tea bag into the mug Noe got him last Christmas.
"I think it's growing on me," he replies, and Noe believes him; the countless boxes of tea in the cupboard were growing as well.
Vanitas, on sleepless nights, can be found on their shared couch with Murr on his lap, running ungloved fingers through his fur.
Yeah, that changed, too.
"I thought you said he was a nuisance," Noe comments as he takes a seat next to him.
"He's changed," is all Vanitas says.
Yes, Noe thinks, he definitely has.
