I Won Your Hand

Summary:

Once every two hundred years, the King of the Monster Kingdom makes an offer too all of the surrounding kingdoms. The strongest warriors shall fight for his entertainment and the winner wins a chance to court one of his many sons.

Though every single time everyone dies. No-one has ever been able to court a single prince. Though it's not overly surprising, everyone would fight to the death for an omega's hand. Especially from one of the most powerful families in the world.

To the Kings surprise I lived. Now I have my pick of who I shall take as my husband. Though most of them seem rather interested at the prospect.

Chapter Text

Every kingdom wishes for an alliance with the kingdom of Monsters. As they are the strongest in all the realms, with their extremely impressive magical technology and excellent military force. They're a dangerous kingdom, so everyone wishes to be on their side. Yet, no one has ever been able to create an alliance with them.

Which greatly amuses the bastard King, W.D. Gaster. A cruel calculating man who runs his kingdom with an iron fist. So he came up with a plan to humiliate the other kingdoms further. A challenge to win the hand of one of his twelve sons. The trick was that it would only happen every two hundred years. So from once was four children has ever so slowly been upped to twelve. Let's just say the king is a bit of a whore.

Every son is born from a different father or mother. Now the king lets us fight for his son's precious hands. To slaughter each other for something more important to the kingdoms than anything else: safety for your respected kingdom. Yet no one has even been able to win this little game as they always end up dying.

Today is the one thousandth year of these trials and I have been chosen to fight for the Human kingdom. I was hand picked by the Queen herself. For my strength and my status as an Alpha. I was bigger than most humans due to this. As we really aren't built to be Alphas. We have the inner workings of Betas though every once an awhile we end up being a bit different than the rest.

Stronger, faster, bigger, and a hell of a lot more dangerous. After all, Human Alphas aren't exactly known for our kindness. Unlike Monsters, Fae, and Elves we don't have natural magic. So we don't have any magic regulating our mood or helping keep our violent tendencies at bay. We are far more animalistic than other races.

I take a deep breath as I look down at the blade in my hands. Small flecks of dried blood littering my precious steel. This sword had already saved my life today; cutting down my opponents with ease. I'm one of the last people left and from what I've seen there are only three other people.

The cage door slowly lifts open. Causing me take a few steps into the colosseum. Being met with a huge crowd of excited Monsters sitting high above. "Welcome back this years most popular competitor! The Broken Lark! Her skill with the blade is unmatched!" The crowd roars as I wave up at them all. Before turning towards the seats even higher up. The royal seats.

Every member of the family was here today as it was the last day after all. Someone may actually win their hand. It's extremely rare for many of these powerful monsters to be seen by the public. I smile up at them; bowing.

When I turn back to look at them, I study their faces. Figuring out who was who. The skeleton sat right next to the king was definitely Sans. The prince next in line to the throne. It's said he's a genius. Known for his mathematical achievements and brilliant inventions that have helped all the kingdoms. His blue suit is elegant, simple. With neat delicate jewelry that didn't flaunt his status. He's pretty, which doesn't make it surprising that he's an omega. Just like many of his brothers. Yet he's the one everyone here is going after. All for the seat on the throne.

Sans shifts his crown as he gazes down at me. Turning to the his brother on his side. Which if I had to guess was Papyrus. The second oldest prince. Papyrus is said to be an extremely kind monster. Known for his charity and outward disapproval of the trails. He's lived through many of these and highly disapproves of the violence. He rubs his nervous hands on his suit with a frown. His jewels twinkle in the light as he looks down. Sans pats his shoulder with a sad smile.

Next to them sat a pair I had seen throughout the trials. Red and Edge, the disaster twins. Much like their father they enjoy a little bit of chaos and bloodshed for sport. Red the older of the two is a highly skilled chemist. He's mixed the realms of science and magic together making things that people never thought was possible. His teeth are golden and pulled up into a smirk. His red tux was messy, yet it fit him. He's more than excited to watch more chaos unfold.

Edge works right next to his father. He works in the military making protection plans. He's known to be extremely strong and more dangerous than he looks.  Though that's not what's he's most known for. He's known for his fashion sense. Edge has the most jewelry out of all of them; almost always wears corsets and is never seen with out a pair of heels. He's one scary monster. His arms are crossed over his chest as he grins down at me.

I take a deep breath as I hear another cage door open. A tall Satyr with scars littering their body exits the cell. Their muscles bulging as they grin. This man was gonna be interesting to fight... I roll my shoulders, only two more to go. Then we can get this shit over with. "Welcome, Defos Adder! The strongest satyr in all of the kingdoms! War is his middle name." I turn my gaze back up too the booth as the crowd goes wild again. Completely ignoring the Fae.

If I had to guess the next two were Blue and Stretch. The middle children. Blue is an extremely skilled healer. He's known for his potent green magic that can fix just about everything! From what I've heard he does his work for free. Helping the people of his kingdom. He's highly favored among the commoners. His dress was far more simple yet still regal. Like robes that were tight to his bones. Simple jewelry and most of them look at though children made them hang from his wrists. Blue stares down at his hands. That seemed to be shaking. It was obvious he wasn't going enjoying watching the slaughter.

Stretch is also a healer. Though not of the magical kind. He deals with herbs and medicinal products that can heal the sick. Things that can't be healed by magic. His research has helped the other kingdoms survive plagues of sickness. Stretch quietly comforts his brother as he watches onward. A frown prevalence on his face. Out of all the brothers Stretch is one of the most laid back. By his clothing choice and very little jewelry.

I hear another cage door open. The creaking of metal as it unlocks. A short female elf approaches a battle axe in her hands. She looks between us letting out a sigh. "Our favorite little elf, Savannah EverBright!" She awkwardly waves at the crowd. She twists the axe in her hands as I examine all the other royals.

There sits the other pair of bastards. Black and Mutt. Black is strong hard headed, brilliant man. A military genius by heart. That being said he's a brat. He knows what he wants and get its. From jewelry to men. If he wanted someone in the group to win, he would make it happen. Dear old dad would accept it. Black looks down at us with an aura of superiority.

Mutt on the other hand is a massive gossip. He'll figure out all the juicy little secrets you possess. Absolutely nothing gets past him. Even things you have never told a soul, he'll find out one way or another. He's one of the many reasons the Kingdom of Monsters has continued to stay on top. His golden teeth are turning up into a smirk. As he places his skull in his hands. He seemed extremely interested in how this will go.

Then there are the actual twins. Dream and Nightmare. They are said to be inseparable! While the only true way to tell is the colors they wear. Dream wears gold while Nightmare wears dark purple. You could also kinda tell by their personality, Dream is more talkative, or happy go lucky. While Nightmare is far more quiet, reserved. Tends to read much more than socialise. Which he is doing at the moment. Completely uninterested in what was going to happen.

Lastly, are the youngest two. Axe and Cinnamon. The two highly reclusive skeletons. They are rarely ever seen by the public... They are extremely powerful but they were a product of an affair. Which caused them to be held as disgraces to the crown. They were raised far more like warriors then princes. Leaving lasting injuries to them. They were hidden in the back where you could barely see them. Just their eye lights peering in from the dark.

I let out a small sigh gazing at my opponents. They both looked strong but, I could see weak parts in both of their armor. One hard hit and they could both been put out of commission for a while. With that thought the final challenger arrives. A giant goat monster with dagger like horns. "The last and final challenger, Asgore Dreemurr! He hails from a long line of nobles. Now with out further a due, may the challenge commence!"

Without a second of thought I rush toward the elf lady. She was smaller than me and by the smell of it a Beta. She would be much easier to kill, then the two alpha men. Though she did seem to see that coming as she blocked my blade from sliding into her chest by just an inch. The arm of her axe nearly snapping under the strength of the blow.

She pushes me away, her grip tightening on the axe as she swings it at me. Her teeth gritting as I slide past her. Giving me a view of the vein in her arm. Elves always have larger veins in their arms. It was to help them cast spells or imbue magic into their weapons. It won't kill them, at least right away If I slice it but, it will cause them to become unconscious in just a few minutes. So I quickly switch my blade to my other hand giving me just enough time to slice those precious veins.

Which I do as she tries to swing again. Slicing right from her elbow into the inner part of her arm. She lets out a shriek stumbling back a bit. "Shit!" She snarls her eyes glowing with a magical energy. As she imbued the axe with a harsh glowing light. I smirk, yes that's right. Lose your magic quicker!

I scurry back knowing if that hit me I would be in a world of pain. Elf magic was truly something else. It burned like the hottest embers of hell yet be bright as angelic rays. I could hear the snarls of the two men behind me as I rush towards the wall. With the bleeding elf right on my heels.

Reaching the wall I jump at it. Using it like a kick board as I turn around. Giving her a pretty kick in the face. Though she did get to graze me with her weapon. A searing pain wafts through my body. I let out a grunt as she stumbles backwards. "You are far stronger than I expected." I say letting out a huff watching touch her broken nose. "Most elves would have fallen with a wound like that. Let alone with it ruining your appearance." I smirk watching her body shake from blood loss.

"I could say the same to you, human..." She snarls out as blood leaked from her nose. "Though I don't care how I look."  Savannah growls. She twists the weapon in her hands. "Unlike you, I can fix it with magic." She grins blood dripping from her stark white teeth.

"Not if you're dead." I say flatly as she swings once again. Her skin growing paler by the second. Blood spewing from her wounds. One slice after another until something disturbed us. A flying satyr slamming right into a wall, very obviously dead. I turn looking over at the goat monster who was covered in blood. The crowd goes absolutely wild as he grins.

"Hmm..." I mutter looking over at him. I turn back too the pretty elf who looked equally stunned. I punch her right in the throat watching her fall flat on her ass. Making her down for the count to bleed out. I turn too the monster who was still revelling in his 'victory'. The simple sword in my hand glistens with thick red blood as I throw it straight at him. Hitting him straight into the shoulder.

He flinched turning towards me. "You still got me to deal with!" I shout taking another sword out of it's sheath.

The goat chuckles grabbing the swords from his shoulder. Grunting as it exits his skin. "Oh, what's a little human gonna do to a Boss Monster?" He teases, throwing down the bloody weapon. The blood leaking into the packed down dirt. "I shall win my right to the throne." He grins.

"Well I'm not letting that happen. My kingdom needs this, I won't lose either." I say twisting the blade. "So I shall skin you alive." I say getting a cruel grin from the beast.

"Oh I do love a good challenge." He chuckles. My sword slides against the floor as I lunge at the monster. Though he was pretty prepared for this. As he grabs my blade. Causing it to carve into his hand. He growls pushing me backwards his hands twitching in pain. His hands glowing with a hellish fire as I scurry backwards.

I twist around him kicking him in the back. My boot clicking against the metal. The goat monster stumbles forward throwing his magic in my direction. Giving me an opportunity to hit him once again.

Stabbing down into his hand. Stabbing it into the ground. He snarls as I push it deeper into the thick dirt. In retaliation he uses his fire magic to make the sword become too hot to hold. I let out hiss, letting go of the weapon. The crowd goes ballistic as he grabs me with his good hand. Pulling me down towards his face and head butting me with a mighty thud. "Ow! Son of a bitch!" I yelp glaring down at him. The goat was smirking so I did something I probably shouldn't have. I head butted him right back.

That time it seemed to stun us both as he let's go of me. I stumbled back falling down on my ass. He rips out the sword as he stands back up. It was obvious couldn't move his hand as blood and dust leaks from him. He raises the sword nearly slamming it into my chest. If I hadn't rolled away it wouldn't have been a quick death. The sword shatters on impact frustrating the giant.

I jump up feeling sweat roll down my temple. This monster was crazy strong, even stronger than I expected. Looks like I'll have to tire the bastard out. So that's what I did. Over and over again I ran away. Sneaking in small hits as he used his fire magic against me. The colosseum was covered in burn marks and blood as we battled it out.

Eventually both of his arms give up from all the injuries sustained to them. I pant as the man in front of me twitches. "It's true... A human alpha are far stronger than most." He whispers. "You still stand after being harshly burned." A smile slowly forms. The burns bubbling under my skin making me shake from the pain. "You'll make a good wife for them." He mutters coughing up blood.

This beast of a man falls forward, unconscious. There was a moment of silence before the crowd goes wild. Looks like... Looks like I'll actually won! My pride swelled as I turn towards the booth. Smiling as I hold up my sword.

The King's eye sockets were wide as he stares at me. Shocked that I still stood high. "Well would you look at that! We have a winner! Congratulations!" The announcer says sounding just as surprised as the king himself. I place my sword into it's sheath as I stare up at the royals. The were either whispering to themselves or looking gobsmacked. "You'll be meeting the royals soon! Please head back into the room. You'll be brought up to meet them within the hour."

With that I turn on my heel. Heading back too my cage as medical personnel quickly grab me. Worrying over my injuries. I smile. My Queen was going to be very pleased with this.... Though I am also getting hitched.

I wonder who I should choose.
