Chapter Text
Adrien Agreste stared at the classroom door. He had been waiting for this moment all summer. The moment when he would see the beautiful raven-haired girl walking into class for the first day of their last year of lycée.
Now that school was starting up again, he would see her every weekday. Her gorgeous bluebell eyes, her big plump lips, and her toned sexy body. The years had been good to that body of hers, filling her out in all the right places.
And there she was. Marinette Dupain-Cheng made her way inside the classroom with a smile on her face.
Adrien felt his heart skip a beat. She looked even more beautiful than the last time he saw her. He felt blessed by the gods when he saw that she was wearing her hair down. A sight he had only seen a couple of times before.
His eyes travelled down the rest of her body. She was wearing a white and pink flowered shirt that showed just a hint of cleavage, capri pants and her signature pink flats.
He unconsciously licked his lips as he watched her move closer. She smiled wider when she made eye contact with him.
"Hi Adrien," she said, walking up to him. "How was the rest of your summer?"
"Uh... it was fine," he replied, staring into those beautiful eyes.
"That's good to hear," she said.
God she's gorgeous, and sweet, and perfect. Okay Agreste, stop staring and continue the conversation.
"So, how are things with you and..." he trailed off.
"Luka?" she asked, finishing the question for him.
He nodded. Luka. The boyfriend. The guy she had been dating for two years now.
"Oh, things are good," she replied. "You know, same old, same old."
Adrien wanted to crawl into a hole and die. Ugh, why did the universe hate him? Why hadn't he realized that he was in love with Marinette when she was still single? Why did he only start to realize his feelings for her after she had already started dating Luka?
He hoped that it would be a quick fling, like he had had with his ex-girlfriend Kagami. After dating for a few weeks it was clear to both of them that they didn't belong together. Adrien then waited for the day when Marinette and Luka would come to the same conclusion about their own relationship.
But it had been two years. Two fucking years of not being able to confess his feelings for her. And his feelings weren't going away. If anything, they kept getting stronger. The more time they spent together, the more he fell in love with her.
"Well that's good," he said, trying to maintain his composure.
"Hey girl," Marinette's best friend Alya said, coming up and giving her a big hug. "Hey Adrien," she said, turning towards him. "Are you excited to be in our class again this year?"
"Yeah, definitely," Adrien replied. The most important thing was that he was with Marinette. Being in the same class as his other friends was just a nice bonus.
A second later, his best friend Nino came up to them. "Dude!" he announced, extending his fist out. "Ready for another awesome year?"
"You know it," he said, fist bumping him.
The teacher Miss Bustier started speaking. "Alright students, let's settle down and take our seats."
Everyone found their spots. Adrien sat right in front of Marinette, just like he had for the last three years. He loved that she was so close to him.
Who knows, maybe he could even convince Nino to switch seats with her. Then Nino would sit next to Alya, and he would be next to Marinette. How perfect would that be, not only for him, but for everyone. After all, Nino and Alya had been dating for years.
Miss Bustier continued. "Now we have a new student joining us this year." She gestured over to the door as a boy walked into the classroom. "This is Isaac Laurent, and his family recently moved here from Bordeaux."
Isaac was a sixteen year-old with light brown hair and brown eyes. He wore ripped jeans with a blue t-shirt and black combat boots. He looked less than thrilled to be there.
"Oh, he's cute," Adrien heard Alya whisper over to Marinette.
"I'd like all of you to make Isaac feel welcome," Miss Bustier continued. "Marinette, as class rep, I'd like you to show him around today."
"Yes, Miss Bustier," the girl said from her seat.
Isaac glanced up with a frown on his face. At seeing Marinette, however, his expression changed. His eyes widened and his frown was replaced with a smile.
"Why don't you go take a seat in the last row next to Lila," the teacher told him.
He nodded and started walking up the middle aisle to his seat. When he reached Marinette he stopped to speak with her. "Hi Marinette, I'm Isaac," he said extending out his hand.
She looked up at him and shook his hand. Then he leaned over, turned her hand and kissed the back of it. Marinette's raised her eyebrows in surprise. Adrien glared at him, watching their interaction.
"I can't believe my luck," Isaac said. "Getting the prettiest girl in class to show me around."
"Uh, th... thank you Isaac," Marinette stuttered, her face blushing slightly. "That's very kind of you to say." She looked down at her hand, which Isaac was still holding, and then looked back up at him. "So you just moved here from Bordeaux?"
"Yes I did," he replied, not letting go. "Have you ever been there?"
"No I haven't. I was just asking because you just remind me of someone I've met before, that's all."
"Someone nice I hope."
"Very nice," Marinette replied.
"Isaac, I'll have you take your seat now. Class is starting," Miss Bustier called out.
"I guess I'll see you later," Isaac whispered, finally letting go of Marinette's hand and walking to his seat.
Marinette watched him go and then glanced over at Alya, who smirked at her. When she looked back to the front of the classroom, she made eye contact with Adrien. He stared at her for a moment before turning around.
