Miko sat upright on her bed, breathing in deeply as a cool breeze blew in from the open window. The stars glittered, and the reflection of the moon against the waves brought peace to her mind. For 500 years, the shrine maiden had spent nights watching the waves crash onto the shore in an endless cycle. Her heart had yearned for someone, someone who she held dear. Those nights were the loneliest she had ever felt, 500 long years spent without her dearest. In her stubborness, she had chosen a room that faced away from Inazuma City, away from Tenshukaku hoping it would force her to think about something else, anything else but Ei. It didn't work of course, but it didn't stop her from trying. Neither memory of Ei in her mind nor the pain in her heart left for those years.
Miko closed her eyes, and smiled softly. "But.. you're here with me now Ei. Please.. don't leave me again" she whispered to the woman sleeping in her lap. She stroked Ei's cheek softly, her heart brimming with adoration.
