Chapter Text

This wasn’t supposed to be so complicated. You and Nanami Kento were just co-workers that spared each other glances once in a while and barely communicated. You and Nanami shared a similar mundane routine - eat, sleep, work. He was hoping nothing would get in his way while he worked his ass off to become an executive, but the moment a new face was introduced to each and every employee of your company, he cursed himself. Your black pencil skirt and baby blue button down accentuated your beautiful curves. A genuine smile sat on your face every time you entered the building. They all had been informed you had a great record and resume. In contrast to Nanami’s interests, you actually enjoyed working. This didn’t feel like a responsibility, it was something you wholeheartedly liked to do. To sum it up, you were someone influential and important. The perfect office worker. Unfortunately for you, Nanami was the competitive type. He lacked no skills and vowed to devote his life to work. No matter how many people tried to push him to the “right path” and even found him dates, he had no interest in having a romantic relationship with anybody. Some of his weekends were spent in the local bar, where he drowned himself in alcohol and misery. He wanted to prove them wrong - you could crumble under pressure, you weren’t perfect. Little did he know that he would soon be applying a very different kind of pressure to you…

The sun shined through your open blinds, stirring you awake. The brightness caught you off guard, but you soon managed to properly open your eyes and sit up in bed. The day was Saturday, you were finally free from the restraints work brought upon you. Taking a shower and watching a stupid rom-com was the only thing you planned to do today. No partying, no helping a friend out, no getting drunk this weekend.

You slowly got out of bed, legs sore from all the running back and forth to fetch documents and packages that arrived that work. Grabbing your phone, you walked to the bathroom. On the way there, you managed to see a couple of notifications - nothing new though. You could say your life was pretty boring at the time being. You didn’t have any interest in being in a romantic relationship, hooking up with random guys at most. You often found yourself drinking away the stress at local bars with one of the few friends you had, Shoko.

After taking your sweet time in the bathroom, you made your way to the kitchen, hopelessly looking for leftovers in the fridge. You managed to find two pizza slices and after heating them up, enjoyed them on the sofa. “I should probably reorganize my wardrobe” you thought to yourself. The weather was humid and winter was near. Your summer clothes wouldn’t do, besides that, you desperately needed to go shopping. That would be a thing for another day though, all you needed was to pick out an outfit for Monday, so you wouldn’t worry in the morning. Sitting up from the sofa, you soon found yourself in front of your wardrobe in the bedroom. Your salary was the only thing getting you through the years. You were really spoiling yourself - walk-in wardrobe, apartment on the top floor with a breathtaking view, high-priced jewelry. There was nothing you didn’thave. While you were looking through the many button downs, boring jeans and skirts that were stuffed in there, something caught your eye. It was a shiny black bag with questionable content inside it. A sly smirk became visible on your face the second you realized what was in there. It was a gorgeous lingerie set that consisted of black stockings, a lace bra and panties to match everything. You didn’t have an excuse to put it on, but you were glad you bought it. You grabbed your phone from the nightstand you placed it on and quickly took a pic of the laid out set on the bed, deciding to send it to your friend Shoko so you two could have a good laugh over it. Without thinking or looking, you just sent the picture to the person you most recently messaged and dropped the phone on your bed again, continuing to look through the piles of clothes and the mess in the wardrobe. Your beautiful clothes mesmerized you, it was a shame you rarely even took them out. A “ping!” coming from your phone was what took you out of your trance. Assuming it was Shoko and grabbing the device, you unlocked it, only to freeze in place the second you saw what you had done earlier. You and Nanami Kento had exchanged numbers due to work policies and he had messaged you about the current project, just before you had gone to bed yesterday, meaning you had sent the pic of the set to him. Terror and shock weren’t enough to describe what you were feeling right now. Not only did you mistakenly send that picture to him, but he even saw it and replied. The real question was - what did he even reply?

“You have no reason to be scared, just delete the damn picture and tell him it was an accident.” Shoko spoke to you on the phone.

“You don’t understand, that man hates me! He probably was in as much shock as I’m in right now. I would’ve rather sent it to my boss or just anyone else besides him.” You spoke back, pacing around the living room in fear of what could to happen to you. The stoic man could easily report this and get you fired. It was clear that was his goal from the start he saw you. You could only hope he thought it was a joke.

“Open the message right now and tell me what it says before I come over there and do it myself.” Shoko was getting irritated with you. You took a deep breath and closed your eyes, so you could open the message and process the information later. “You could’ve at least put it on for me.” was what the message read.

Pure panic overcame you. All you could do was stare at the message, dumbfounded. You continued to do that until Shoko’s voice was heard from the phone again.

“So? What does it say?”

You read the message back to your friend and waited for her reaction. What you didn’t expect was for Shoko to burst into laughter and tears. You felt as if the world had just exploded before your eyes while that idiot was laughing.

“Shoko, I’ll call you back later.” You said, stuttering and didn’t wait for a response from the laughing woman, pressing the bright red button on your screen. Sitting down on the sofa, you stared at the message for another two minutes, deciding that two could play his game. You weren’t thinking straight, your emotions got the best of you. Soon, you were in front of the mirror, wearing the same lingerie set that had caused all of this.

Taking a picture from a very revealing angle, you sent it to Nanami with the following message: “I think you’ll like it more when it’s off”
