"I missed you."

Summary:

Yoriichi didn't know how much he could miss a person before he met you. He didn't know how much he could miss you before he had to leave for a mission. Thankfully, though, you were waiting for him at your shared house when he finally got back home.

This is an original story written for my KNY x Reader Tumblr account [Serodev], and I loved this story so much that I didn't want to put this into the drabble book. You can read the original request by the end of this story!

You had to admit that Yoriichi's clinginess managed to surprise you a bit.

 

Sure, it did come out of nowhere, but it was a rare sight for Yoriichi to act like this in the first place, and you couldn't help but feel a bit worried as he held you in his arms while pressing his head against your shoulder.

"Yoriichi..?" You started to speak in hopes of getting answers to this sudden change, but the only response you managed to fish out from your humble and quiet significant other was this simple hum before he tightened his hold of you.

 

It was clear that something was going on inside his head, you knew your lover well enough to notice it, but you didn't exactly know how you could've talked about this without sounding too harsh, so instead, you ended up playing with his long hair.

You two ended up staying like this for a vast amount of time before he pulled away just enough to press a gentle kiss right to the corner of your mouth, which in response made you sigh quietly.

"Yoriichi, you need to speak up... I'm starting to worry about you." You confessed quietly, and thankfully this made Yoriichi look at you.

You swore that you could see the love radiating off from your lover in front of you by simply looking him into his eyes, but he turned to look elsewhere before you could've managed to come up to a conclusion about it.

 

"I'm just..."

 

The simple sentence made you hum in response while you played with his hair, "Yes?"

"I just missed you... It's been a while since I managed to hold you in my arms like this."

 

Even though the answer was simple, it was more than enough to cause your face to heat up either in shyness or in love, or maybe in happiness - You didn't really know, but it didn't matter because you were already being pulled to another loving hug.

"I missed you too, Yoriichi." You admitted in a quiet tone as you nuzzled your face against his neck, not caring about the hair that was tickling against your cheek.

What you said made the demon slayer hum quietly before he pulled you into another kiss, and this time he actually placed it right on top of your lips, which made you smile happily.

"Welcome home, love." You whispered while looking at Yoriichi, who, in return, looked at you with this neutral gaze you've gotten used to.

 

"I'm home."

 

You could hear love from his voice.

ORIGINAL ASK: Hello! Do you mind doing a Yoriichi one shot where he's been extra touchy and clingy because he's been gone for so many missions recently and all he wants is to cuddle and kiss and hug his lover?
