“Erwin! Erwin! Wait up!” Levi shouted as they ran along the fields. “You’re too fast!”
Erwin stopped and ran back to Levi, reaching him a hand. “You’re just small.” Levi slaps Erwin’s hand, “I don’t need your help. You can just wait for me.” Levi sat on the road and leaned his hand on the ground. “Can we find somewhere to rest?”
Erwin looked around and saw a forest from afar. “How about in that forest?” Levi nodded and the kids started to walk. As they stroll, Erwin is teaching Levi the things that they see such as flowers, and bugs - what the world is made up of. Levi keeps listening to Erwin’s stories, he never gets tired of it - it’s like... he’s his own personal encyclopedia.
When they reached the forest, their eyes widened and faces full of curiosity. Levi wanders, “Erwin, these trees are...huge?”
Erwin nodded, “Yes, it's called ‘giant sequoia.’ And I’ve heard the Survey Corps are always climbing up to these trees so they won’t get caught by a titan.” Both of them took their moment to become silent, immersed and mesmerized by the tree’s height.
The blonde kid ran in front of Levi and he raised an eyebrow to Erwin. “Someday, we will climb up to that tree,” the blonde kid announces. “And will fly like the birds do! And… and- go to the sea!”
Levi didn’t say anything but grinned. “Wa- was that funny?” Erwin asked.
“N- no! It’s not. I really found it...amusing.... to have a dream.” Levi said as he face down.
Erwin suddenly squished both Levi’s cheeks which made him looked like a duck and leaned over. “Levi, let’s dream together!” and he smiled. Levi just stared at Erwin with a gleam in his eyes, until…
Levi woke up covered with sweat. He looks around and realizes he’s in the forest - on a mission. But it’s the forest where he and Erwin used to play. He held Erwin’s jade bolo and kissed, “Erwin, I’ll fulfill your dream and that promise.”
