The Tsaritsa's Daughter

Summary:

The Tsaritsa's Daughter is a woman who doesn't like her time to be wasted. Especially not by any of the Fatui Harbingers. More so, the eleventh one.

Their relationship is complicated - as Tartaglia would word it. But in reality, he is fixated on her. Including the darker side of her. The side he oh so loves to see. Though, she doesn't see it this way.

She sees Tartaglia as an annoyance. But that only encourages him. Perhaps there would be a way to shut him up. A way to wipe that smile off his face. Tartaglia will do whatever he can to make it happen.

And when it does, he regrets it. Or does he?

Notes:

Childe is insane. But I love him. Gotta love his antics.

This first chapter is setting up for the eventual smut. But... Childe does but on a show for us at the end. ;)

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Chapter 1: 1 {-} Sleepless Nights

Chapter Text

There wasn’t a time that you went with your day without the disturbance of outside intrusions. Whether that be with the Fatui, or the fools who intertwined themselves with them.

You’ve been dispatched to Liyue for quite some time. At first, you couldn’t stand the idea of it. Enjoying time to linger around Snezhnaya was a much better passing time, than wasting it in the nation under the geo Archon. To think that wasn’t even the worst part about it all. It was who you were dispatched with, the eleventh Harbinger himself.

You had pleaded with the Tsaritsa to either not let him go, or for you not to go. Even though you were her daughter, she didn’t treat you any differently than she does the rest of the Harbingers. Your request was quickly denied.

Ever since both you and Childe had taken the gnosis of Rex Lapis, you both stuck around afterwards. It was a hassle, trying to find peace and quiet and avoid Childe at all costs. He was obnoxious and wouldn’t shut the hell up about his fight with the blonde boy in the Golden house. It was a miracle he even lived. But that blonde lucked out seeing as Childe was just toying with him.

Currently you are sitting outside of Third-Round knockout, enjoying the gentle noise from the background. The man telling stories which sounded stretched, or too debatable. But that was the excitement of a tale.

Letting out a sigh you put your cup of (beverage) up to your lips ready for another sip. But then an annoying chipper voice calling out your name interrupted.

“Helloooo there comrade!”

The sound caused your eyebrow to twitch. Trying to ignore him, you went to take another sip but yet again his voice rang out.

“Aw, that’s not nice. Don’t ignore me!”

“For the love of the Tsaritsa...” Setting down your cup you snapped your head in the direction. “...What the fuck do you want?”

Childe put a hand to his heart and frowned, “Such strong language.” But he quickly rebounded from his fake offense. “I can’t say hello? We’re partners after all.” Walking over he took a seat across from you resting his elbows on the table.

“I don’t have the time to chat idly with you.” You finally got the sip from your drink after two failed attempts.

“You aren’t doing anything though.”

“Let me rephrase.” You stated. “I don’t want to chat idly with you. That’s more like it. Don’t you have things to do? Check up on the bank or something.”

Childe clicked his tongue tilting his head from side to side. “Already did. Come on, you don’t think I’d be so irresponsible? Paperwork is a bore though. So I left that on my desk.”

Of course he did. He was all for fighting to the death but whenever it came down to his handwritten business he would ignore it. Or put it aside. “That doesn’t sound responsible in the slightest.”

Childe’s eyes glazed over you. He hummed and tapped his gloved fingers on the table. It didn’t take rocket science to know he was staring at you, and you didn’t even have to look up. “What are you staring at me for? Take a picture, it’ll last longer.” You grumbled.

He blinked and brought himself back to reality. “Oh? Would you allow me to?” He asked, a smile creeping onto his face.

“Shut the fuck up, it was a statement, not an invitation to act like a weirdo.” You responded glaring at him now. You set the cup aside now finished with it. Standing up from the chair, the wind gently blew. “I’m leaving.” with that you turned away.

“Andddd, I’m going to follow you.” Childe added hoping out of his seat. He didn’t have to walk that fast to catch up- curse his long legs. Reaching you he swung an arm over your shoulder pulling you closer.

You were close to knocking him out. “Get your arm off of me-”

Childe put a finger to your lips as he continued walking. “Don’t look now but…” He whispered into your ear. Turning, you both went across the bridge, leaving the city. It was only while making your way across the bridge that you heard footsteps not far behind you. “...You hear it, right?”

Indeed. Someone had been tailing the both of you. But still, that didn’t stop you from unhooking his arm from your shoulders. “Yeah whatever.” Sending a quick jab to his side with your elbow. “But don’t you dare do that again.”

Childe hissed in pain. You both continued walking, knowing someone was behind you. Their intentions are unclear. Truthfully Childe knew he’d get some reaction by slinging an arm over you, but he just wanted to see how long it’d be until he got one.

There was something about you that he found irresistible. It may have been the fact you were her majesty’s daughter. Or something else completely. Ever since being dispatched here, he tried getting closer in whatever ways he could.

Once you were both far enough from the city you noted how the footsteps were growing closer. “Childe.”

“I got it.”

His face darkened and he summoned his hydro daggers. Turning on his heel he charged towards the person. With a shocked yelp they were tackled to the ground. He held the sharp end to their neck.

“Who do we have here?” He taunted. Below him there was a man with a mask on. Clearly thought he was being sneaky. He also must’ve not known either of the two were armed.

You spun around and approached the two of them. Glaring down at the man you bent down. “Who the fuck are you, and why are you following us? Hurry up, you're wasting precious time.”

The man stuttered and shook. “I… I didn’t know you had weapons! But I just came for…” He faded out and his eyes widened and Childe dug the weapon closer to his neck.

“Answer her.”

“I’m sorry! I was coming for the woman! I didn’t know you two were an item. I’m deeply sorry! Please accept my apologies, I must be a little tipsy!” He pleaded.

You took your shoe and stomped on his stomach. “For me?” you had a smirk on your face. “You thought I’d give in to a sad sack of shit like you? Wrong move buddy.” You pressed your shoe down harder. Childe was still keeping his weapons out. “Move it Childe.”

He stood up and moved out of the way. He sighed and turned to the city. The lights dance against the night sky. It was a shame this is what he was doing. Rather than enjoying the time with you. The thought of the man who was now pinned to the ground even trying something with you, pissed him off.

“I’ll give you your time with me.” You stated. Leaning down you teasingly dangled your face in front of his. “But it comes at a price.”

His eyes practically lit up. “I’ll pay! I’ll pay with everything I have. I have the mora to last days, weeks!”

“Funny you’d say that.” You smiled. You raised your hand and slowly a sword materialized in it. “Because I have enough to last me months… years.” Standing up you held the sword to your neck. “Say you're sorry. Sorry for ruining my night, more than it already was.”

He scrambled underneath your foot. “I’m sorry! I’m very sorry! Please spare me!”

“That wasn’t good enough. Beg for your life.”

Childe was now very intrigued with the situation and leaned forward on his toes. He caught a glimpse of fear in the man’s eyes. Childe snickered and held his hand over his mouth so you wouldn’t get more upset with him.

He was now on his hands and knees. In a praying position beneath your feet. “I swear, I’ll never cross your path again. Let me live please. Please. Please miss.” Tears ran down his face.

You bent down with a sinister look on your face. Cupping his face you slowly tilted your head to the side. “Very good.”

The man sighed with relief but it didn’t last long. A sharp pain went through his stomach and he cried out. Blood spurted onto your face and clothing. His face writhed in agony. “I-I th..oug..ht..” His sentences were merging together.

“I never said I wouldn’t kill you. Worthless piece of shit.” With that you stood up and kicked him. Childe silently watched with awe. The man was using whatever energy he had left to scream for help.

But it was useless.

You scowled. “You’re still alive? Shut the fuck up.” You growled making your way over to him. The scene was occurring dangerously close to a cliff that led into the ocean. His screams continued.

“I said… shut…” You gave him one last kick. His body went toppling over the edge and his screams began dying out. He left a pool of blood where he last was. “...Up.”

Childe began to clap. “Woah~” He made his way over to you. You lifted your blood stained sword to his hand. Knowing how this usually goes he took it from you. Taking the sword by its handle he ran his hand along the blade. Using his vision, he rinsed the blood away. After he was finished, he handed it back.

“I hate people like him.” Grabbing the sword from him you sheathed it back into thin air.

Childe whistled nonchalantly. “Seems like it.” His eyes moved over to you once again staring you down. You were now covered in the blood from that man, and it made his gears turn. “C'mere.”

You glanced up to him. “Why.” It wasn’t really a question. But more of a statement.

“You still have his blood on your face. Let me help.” Instead of waiting for you to come to him, he just went to you. Placing his hands onto your cheek, he rinsed the blood from your face. The water dripped down your neck and down your chest. He’d be lying if he said he didn’t look. He enjoyed seeing your murderous side. Crazy as it may sound.

“My eyes are up here Tartaglia.”

But he didn’t reply right away. Looking at you like this was breathtaking. It would also be another lie if he said he didn’t think about what you’d do to him if he continued to anger you. He sometimes had sleepless nights shamelessly groaning into his arm while he palmed himself under the sheets. Alone with nothing but his thoughts. And boy did they run wild.

Though of course he never told anybody that. Certainly not you.

“Tartaglia.”

He snapped himself from his thoughts. His hands still on your face. “Ah…” He slipped his hands down. “Got myself distracted again.” He tried to push his unholy thoughts aside so he could focus on you.

Suddenly there were running footsteps coming up to them. But these ones were familiar to both of them. Soon, a fatui girl scrambled into view. Her initial reaction was shocked seeing the blood on your clothes.

“My lady! My lord.” She kneeled down on one knee. “A message from her majesty.”

Childe wanted to ignore whatever she was about to say. All he wanted was just a bit more alone time with you.

“Speak quickly.” You pushed her on.

“Right! You’ve both been called back.”

You were relieved. After that last encounter you didn’t know how much more of the Liyue atmosphere you could take. “It’s about time. When do we leave?”

“Early morning tomorrow. She has arranged a boat, but I wasn’t given a specific time. Forgive me, my lady.” She apologized. Frankly, you were the nicest person towards your underlings. Anyone to work under you was relieved, and never received any ill backlash. Unlike how the Harbingers handled their own underlings. They usually didn't receive mercy. And if they did it was short lived.

“That’s fine. Thank you, you’re dismissed.” She got to her feet and began to make her way back to the city.

“I thought she’d never call us back from this place.” You said. The two of you stayed in the Golden house. It wasn’t made for actual living, but there had been a room the two of you had to share. The Qixing hadn’t been fond of the idea of anyone living there, but it got worked out.

“Mm, but it’s been a bit since we’ve been back to Snezhnaya, right?” Childe added. You agreed with him. “So, back to the Golden house?” He took another opportunity of your temporary calm nature to snake an arm around your waist. You walked besides him and let out a string of curses.

“What are you doing?”

“Oh nothing you should concern yourself with…” He pulled you into him which earned him another hit to the side with your elbow. “Come onnn” He dragged out his sentence. “It wasn’t that serious.” He pouted. He just wanted to edge you on, to the brink of anger.

It took everything in his power to keep his arm around your waist and not bring it lower. His eyes lingered on you once again. And once again, you were able to tell.

“You’re such an annoyance.” You told him.

Childe chuckled, “I know.” His gloved fingers tapped on your waist. How badly he wanted to just sneak his hand under the hem of your shirt. He sucked in a breath and once again pulled himself from his mind.

“Tartaglia. You are aware I’m still covered in blood, correct?”

He hummed. “I am. What’s that supposed to mean? You think I’m afraid of a little blood?” His tone was too excited. You rolled your eyes.

“Move your arm, or walk slower. Your long ass legs are making it difficult for me to keep up with you.”

Childe smiled. “I know of something better.” He followed your request and moved his arm away. But then he bent down to your legs and picked you up bridal style.

Your eyebrows furrowed. “Put me down. Now.”

“But you said I walk too fast!”

You slapped his chest. “Put me down!” He ignored you and continued walking to the golden house.

It didn’t take long to arrive, and when you guys did he put you down. After your short tantrum you had silently allowed him to carry you back. Quickly, you gripped his face and pulled him to your level. “Don’t speak of this to anyone. Or I swear I’ll kill you.”

He gazed into your eyes. The color of them is captivating to his own blue ones. He took his hand and pretended to zip his mouth shut. You sighed and entered the golden house.

He hung back for a second. His fingertips ghosting where you harshly yanked him from. Tonight would be another sleepless night for him.

-------------------------------

Luckily for him, there were two separate beds. So he had free reign on his side of the room. He was sitting with his back facing the door in a black t-shirt and sleeping pants.

His head was spinning. He couldn’t get the sight of your murderous side out of his mind. He subconsciously smiled to himself.

“You’re still up.”

Your voice from the doorway. Dressed in your own sleep attire. He didn’t allow his eyes to linger for longer than they needed to. “I am. But you know I could go days without sleeping girlie!”

You ignored his enthusiasm and sat down in your own bed. “Yeah, that’s because you’re insane. Don’t let it wake me.” You lay down and reached over for the light flicking it off. You turned your back to him and lay still.

Childe also lay down and put the sheets over his body. He lay staring at the ceiling, an arm behind his head. The wind whistled outside. He obviously wouldn’t be able to sleep tonight. Not after the show you put on earlier.

His hand slowly reached down under the covers. He reached down between his legs and lighty gripped onto the bulge that had grown. It was a bit embarrassing how you didn’t even know what you did to him, but he still couldn’t help himself.

He teased himself slowly, not wanting to go too fast. But it was painful, he wanted you to be doing this. Not him. He tugged at the waistband of pants and pulled them down.

His cock sprung free and his fingertips ghosted over the head. He wanted to groan, but couldn’t wake you up. He wrapped his hands around the base and slowly started pumping himself.

The friction just wasn’t enough for him, he needed more. He greedily jerked his hips up to meet his hand on the way down. Biting down on his tongue he kept in his sounds of pleasure.

Lifting his shirt, his torso was now exposed to the cool air in the room. He bit down on his own shirt to keep it up. He pumped harder and threw his head back. The agony of not having anyone to share this moment with.

Harbingers were recommended to not indulge in any sort of relationship. Most did listen. It wasn’t like any of them had the time to wrap themselves into a relationship. So it didn’t matter.

That included Childe. He didn’t want a relationship. Not a real one, with feelings and whatever else goes into one. But you- he wanted you. In a way he couldn’t describe.

He cursed under his breath. The scene replayed in his mind. You having your way with the fool who tried to get with you. Right in front of him nonetheless. The way he pleaded, begged for his life to be spared. The way your blade cut through him effortlessly. It brought him such a thrill.

Then when you kicked the man off the cliff. His screams fading into the distance. The way his blood dripped off your face and clothing.

“Y/N…” your name slipped off his lips even while biting down hard on his shirt. He covered his face with his free arm. A wild blush was scattered on his face. He said your name with such a whisper, that it was hard for himself to even hear.

His cock started to twitch in his hand. He quietly panted, hips bucking into his own hand. The soft sound of his skin slapping together was music to his own ears. He pumped himself faster and harder.

The way you looked at him with an annoyed look on your face. He wanted that. He craved it.

Childe’s cock let out a final twitch before he finished all over his torso and into his hand. God, it was hard for him to keep quiet. His hair was disheveled and his breathing was shaky.

Cursing again he could probably go another round if he wanted. He reached over to his nightstand to grab a towel. He cleaned himself up and let out a tired sigh.

Maybe he was insane. Watching you murder someone right in front of him drove him wild. He ran his fingers through his ginger hair. Turning to the window he closed his eyes. Not sleeping, but just keeping them closed so he could think about it more.

In the dead of night there you both lay facing away from each other on your respective beds.

Both of you awake.
