You had one stack left of paperwork and were finally ready to get to bed. Not to sleep, since it was still the afternoon, but to take out a book and rest. Due to all the chaos, the Capital is in, you high-ranking Scouts have plenty of work to do. Not leaving enough time for you to spend time with your Fiancé, Levi Ackerman. Of course, you go on missions, but not as often as you usually would. Levi would always go out of his way to complete the most difficult ones for you, being humanity’s strongest soldier. He had no reason to since you were already one of the strongest soldiers the Scouts had, but he insisted. Every time you would tell him to let you do something alone for once he would insist you let him do it with you. Through it all, he cares for you very much which is the reason why he does all this. He doesn’t want to lose you, like he lost everyone else. And you understood that.
While Levi was gone on missions that took multiple days you would be left alone at the capital since the Scouts need soldiers on base as well. You decided to try and make more friends to talk to while you were left there. You used to train the 104th Cadets back when the biggest problem was fighting titans. So you made a few friends along those ranks. Three that stood out to you were Armin Arlert, Mikasa Ackerman, and Eren Yeager. Mikasa was always kind to you since you protected Eren more than once, putting your life on the line for his sake multiple times, which left a certain captain irritated. Armin loved hearing about your ventures and had a kind soul, no to mention his strategic values as a leader. He personally was one of your favorites.
Last but not least, Eren. Eren was a bit temper-mental but anyone would be after going through what he did. You could relate to him, knowing what it feels like to lose your loved ones in a harsh way. So the two of you got along splendidly. You had a special bond ever since he was just a Cadet. Watching the boy grow over the years felt special. Until recently that is. He started to lose his spark. You finally finished the last paper on your desk and took an exasperated sigh. “When will this end?” You groaned and got yourself out of your chair that you’ve been glued to for the past hour or so. After stretching your sore muscles you made your way into your bedroom. Knocking softly in case Levi was asleep, you doubted it but caution doesn’t hurt anyone. “Name and business.” You hear the familiar voice of the man you love state blatantly. “It’s me, I finished my work and want to sleep.” You open the door and close it behind you to see a tired-looking Levi sitting on his desk with his hand on his forehead rubbing his most likely throbbing head. “I might drown in the amount of paperwork Shitty Glasses has been giving me... He was always nothing but kind to you, in his own angry insulty way. “Do you want to head to bed soon? You need to get rest.” You tell him walking back around taking off your unnecessary pieces of clothing, like your coat and boots. “I can’t, we have an important mission tomorrow and I have to finish this before then.” He stated with an annoyed tone, wishing he could try to sleep tonight. “That’s fine. After the mission, you have to get a good night's sleep though, alright?” You tried to look intimidating but it only made the man in front of you chuckle. “Fine.” He gave you a small smile and went back to his work.
“Speaking of tomorrow’s mission, I hope you know that I plan on going.” His smile dropped and he stared at you with an unreadable expression. “You can’t. This is an incredibly important mission.” He said looking back at his papers. “More the reason I have to go! I’m one of the strongest soldiers I hope you haven’t forgotten!” He let out a small ‘tch’ and proceeded with his papers. “I have the skill, the strength, and the wits! You aren’t my father so why can’t I go on missions?” The room went silent after you process what you said. “It’s too dangerous.” He said curtly wanting the conversation to end. “I know that! Back in Levi’s room, he was pacing the floor angry at himself for getting ticked off. “I’ll have to apologize when I get back from the mission tomorrow. The funny thing is, she wasn’t even assigned that mission.” He let out a half-hearted laugh and sat back down.
“God I’m starving.” You told Hange as the two of you made your way to Nicollo’s restaurant. “Hey guys! What can I get for you today?” Hange ordered a steak and you pondered what to get. “I’ll take some (favorite food) please!” Nicollo smiled and went into the kitchen. “Where do you want to sit?” Hange asked you as you walked into the dining area. “Oh look! There’s Eren, Mikasa, and Armin!” Hange pointed to the three musketeers sitting on a table on the far left. Armin saw us and waved, gesturing us to come over. We took out seats and sat with them, I was placed between Eren and Mikasa while Hange sat next to Armin. “Sorry to intrude! (Y/N) here needed some cheering up!
