Raison D'être

Summary:

Izuku Midoriya had lost everything.
The two most important people no longer existed.
They were gone.
Taken.
Murdered.
Izuku's sole purpose in life was now to track down their murderers, but Izuku couldn't see a point to his life past that objective. What else was there to live for?

That is until he hears about a quirk that would allow him to travel through alternate realities.

Notes:

Happy Birthday Bakugou!
Though this feels more like a birthday gift to Deku, but, whatever.
I'm also late ;_;

I actually teared up at one point writing this, so hopefully I manage to get a few tears from you too.
I also cried because of the length (12 000, what IS this monstrosity!?) I wanted this as a oneshot, but if people are like ‘this is way too goddamn long’, I will reconsider mutichapters X)

Hope you enjoy!

Chapter 1: What Is Left Behind

Chapter Text

People said when you lost someone, it would be like a shadow has been casted over the world. Izuku always thought that was a misconception.

The world just became empty.

There was no shadow. It was a complete loss of colour. It was a world that had lost all of its worth. That was his best description for what he had felt when he had lost his mother.

Just an empty bleakness.

Faces came and went trying to console his pathetic child self.

Pointless.

Empty gestures that had no meaning behind them. Just a pat on the back for themselves, ‘hey look at us! We’re doing our duty! We’re soothing this poor child!”

Meaningless.

That’s what everything was.

Pointless and meaningless.

But Izuku continued life.

His mother would have wanted that.

Days bled into weeks, and as the numbness in his bones began to thaw out, a new feeling erupted. A feeling of anger.

As he rethought, over and over again, the terrible events that took his mother away from him, his love for heroes soured.

“Don’t blame the heroes, Deku,” Kacchan had said angrily.

Izuku had been pretty forgiving of Kacchan for a lot of things, but he was resentful of that statement.

Still, he could never resent Kacchan himself. Kacchan was the last constant in his life, and somehow, Izuku was a little grateful that Kacchan never changed his attitude towards him.

It was honest.

It was safe.

All the people in the world who had ignored him before would give him fake sympathy, but Kacchan never did. Kacchan still bullied him, and true he really wished he stopped, but Kacchan was never fake with him. His emotions were always raw and real. So it was genuine when Kacchan had said ‘sorry’ at the funeral.

So, Izuku let it go.

He let go his growing resentment towards the fake sympathizers and fake heroes.

He had Kacchan.

And Izuku was supportive of Kacchan, who’s own dream was still to become a hero. As a child, he thought him and Kacchan would stand, side by side, at the top as heroes. Kacchan would laugh and say someone quirkless could never be a hero, which crushed Izuku’s little childish dream. But Izuku didn’t want that for himself anymore. The thought of being a hero upset him.

Still, he wanted to see Kacchan blaze into glory, because, let’s be honest, Kacchan would be amazing as a new hero. Izuku welcomed Kacchan’s dream, knowing this was all part of who Kacchan was.

He let it go, he did.

Not his mother’s death, never, but he let go the resentment he had for the incompetency of the heroes who had let her die.

…until the world rewarded them.

Izuku had never asked for the heroes to go to jail. He would accept them losing their license for neglecting his mother by going after villains in a battle in the subway.  They had let his mother and 6 other people perish horribly under the rubble, just to gain fame.

But the world had blessed them.

Said how amazingly heroic his mother’s ‘protectors’ were.

Their rankings went up.

They were given medals.

They posed with smiles on their faces with the goddamn villains they had pummeled, while his mother had died from suffocation or hemorrhage, or whatever the hell the pathologists said! That didn’t fucking matter!

What mattered was that there were heroes, no, murderers, that were still parading in the streets.

They had the audacity to call themselves protectors!?

Something broke within Izuku Midoriya. His faith in heroes was obliterated. His faith in people was gone. In this society. They had taken his one support in life with one hand and awarded her murderers with the other.

“You’ll never become a hero, Deku.”

And so he wouldn’t.

He dropped out of middle school, focused on bringing his mother’s killers to justice. He became obsessed with taking notes of heroes, finding weaknesses. He wanted to expose them. That’s all. Nothing sinister.

But he was wasting time in trying to play the life of a student.

He needed to leave.

He made up some story that he was going to live with his dad. With a heavy heart, he grabbed what he could. He was leaving the last important person to him behind, but that needed to be done.

One the day he made that decision, the door had knocked.

“Hey, the old hag wanted me to check up on you.”

Kacchan…

Izuku bit his lip. He wanted to see him, of course he did. But Kacchan would only waver his resolve.

I don’t know when I’ll see him again, though.

Spurred by the thought, Izuku opened the door to find two ruby eyes staring down at him.

Kacchan scowled, “Look. Don’t fucking give everyone a hard time. The old hag said she made extra, and we’re not stupid when you say you’re not hungry. You barely feed yourself and you’re looking like a gross ass skeleton.”

Oh. Right. Aunty had been very kind since his mother passed away and was constantly pushing Kacchan to check on him and invite him over for dinner.

“Sorry Kacchan, next time,” Izuku tried to say quietly when he saw Kacchan’s eyes wander into the inside of his house.  His eyes widened at the boxed up room and Izuku’s bags.

“Are you leaving?”

Izuku laughed, a practiced sound so he could join the other fakes of the world.

Kacchan’s eyes narrowed. “The hell’s going on?”

Izuku shrugged, “My dad decided to take me in. I was packing up the last of the stuff to take to his place.”

“That’s bullshit, and we both know it,” Kacchan sneered, crossing his arms.

“I’ll be fine Kacchan.”

“Fucking bullshit. What do you mean ‘fine’? The fuck are you doing?”

Suddenly Izuku couldn’t look at him. Kacchan always pulled all the raw unpolished emotions out of him.

Shit, I don’t want to cry in front of Kacchan, not like this.

It caught him off guard when Kacchan voice became softer, “You.. you don’t have to… do this alone. My parents and shit… they’re worried about you.”

Izuku laughed again, but this time it came as a choked sob.

Kacchan always stripped Izuku’s resolve. He couldn’t help himself. He needed to cling on to something before plunging into a dark unknown world. Without realizing what he was really doing, Izuku pulled Kacchan into a hug. Kacchan was still taller, so Izuku pulled him down to his level as he clung on hard.

Kacchan froze.

They never had a relationship where a hug would be normal, but Izuku didn’t let go. He squeezed as if he was trying to imprint the feeling of Kacchan on his skin. He wanted to remember his smell. His heat. Izuku didn’t even realize that he was crying into Kacchan’s shirt.

And Kacchan allowed it. They stood unmoving, without a word, and Izuku clung for dear life.

I love you, Kacchan.

But he was too much of a coward to say it.

Finally regaining himself a bit, Kacchan pushed him away.

“Fucking… don’t get snot on my clothes.”

Izuku didn’t want to let go, “Sorry,” he said softly.

“Come on. The old hag is expecting you home,” Kacchan said as he began to walk back.

Home.

“Okay, Kacchan. I’ll meet you there. Let me just grab a sweater,” Izuku had said defeated.

Kacchan didn’t look at him, but muttered, “Fucking hurry,” before he left back home.

That was the hardest lie Izuku ever have to tell.

It was also the last time he saw Kacchan, before he became a pro.

Izuku had left in a hurry. Not wanting to risk the adults and authorities to come find him.

It had been his grand awakening.

Out in the real world, the world was far more corrupt then he had expected. Hundreds of stories, lawsuits, abuses were swept under the rug when you had the title of ‘hero’. Izuku realized that this was no longer about exposing the truth. The whole world was backwards. Even when he finally managed to gain explicit evidence on their crimes, the world turned a blind eye. Izuku couldn’t just ‘expose’. He would have to take them out. Make sure they were incapable of ever being heroes again so that they could never jeopardize someone’s life again.

He managed to find seedy organizations that were willing to use him. They all shared the same goals of bringing down heroes, though most likely for different reasons. But Izuku didn’t care. He had come so far. And Izuku realized that he had to command respect, and earn it, more so for being quirkless.

He lied, he cheated, he did petty grunt work for truly despicable people, but it was doable. It was doable because there was an end goal that he could see.

His heart would occasionally ache for the past.

For his mother.

For Kacchan.

He still kept tabs on what Kacchan was doing. While Izuku had thrown away all chances for high school, Kacchan was managing to pave his way to his dream. Izuku smiled when he saw Kacchan win first place at the sports festival.

He deserved it.

He even was one of the first new heroes to break away from the side kick gig.

Ground Zero had been a perfect choice for a hero name.

As Kacchan climbed higher and higher into the light, Izuku fell deeper and deeper into the dark.

He cloaked himself in that darkness. Hiding his heart from the villains that would devour it once it was exposed.

When he managed to eventually organize a team and executed a plan to leave the fake heroes incapacitated, he was bewildered with how well it worked.

Izuku thought he would feel more satisfied about the deed, but he soon realized it wasn’t enough. There was so much injustice and ugliness in the world, that he couldn’t just wade back into the life of ‘Izuku Midoriya’.

He had to play the game. He joined shady businesses and vigilantes that bordered on villainy, it pushed his hand so far that he had to kill people, but he did it all in the name of justice. He wanted to take down the heroes that didn’t deserve that title.

And really what was he going to do? Go back to school and become a business man?

So he kept up his brigade, even making a name for himself as Black Forest. His name joining the ranks of bigger villains, as he came up with more complex and methodical plans

Izuku will never forget the expression when Kacchan realized it was him.

He looked… horrified…. Then devastated, then angry.

It was a thrill that went through Izuku, because he didn’t think he would ever get an expression like that from Kacchan.

Kacchan had charged at him with all the ferocity of a stampeding bull. Izuku felt alive. All those years with keeping tabs on Kacchan never allowed that flicker in his heart to waver for him. For Kacchan to be looking at him again, focusing on him again. It was worth it. A little bonus to what he was trying to accomplish.

Izuku had managed to get away, barely, but not before hearing Kacchan swear that he would take him behind bars.

Izuku looked forward to his attempts.

Kacchan hounded after him, and Izuku did everything in his power to prolong his attention

He became obsessed playing this cat and mouse game with Kacchan.

It was the closest he had ever felt to him.

And Izuku never, ever underestimated Kacchan’s abilities, but that’s also why Kacchan never won. Kacchan still saw him as the powerless, quirkless, middle schooler.

He wasn’t.

Twice, he had pinned down Kacchan.

Kacchan had been so explosively angry. Cussing and spitting. He looked like a wild, trapped creature beneath Izuku’s heel. One time he even managed to knock Kacchan out fully unconscious.

That was nice.

He had stroked Kacchan’s hair while he placed his head on his lap.

It was unfortunate with how much Kacchan despised him.

Izuku wished things were different and they could at least be civil. Maybe if things happened differently, Izuku would have been just a regular citizen, eating at the Bakugou’s place on the weekend.

But the reality of the world was far too cruel to ever let that happen. Him and Kacchan would never have a relationship as anything other than the law.

Izuku knew that Kacchan despised him and getting caught in Izuku’s traps so often made him go on the brink of insanity. It wasn’t a good look to have a hero lose so constantly to a single villain.

Izuku had been upset when he read the newspapers that the media was questioning Ground Zero’s competency. Kacchan was not a bad hero, he was one of the best. Hell, he wa one of the few that had the capabilities to becoming the best. But Izuku knew him too well. And Kacchan’s hatred for Izuku blinded him.

Izuku also began to have other issues arise from the villain community. He was beginning to feel the pressure of them wanting him to take out Ground Zero.

And he had warned Kacchan.

He had warned him that he was towing the line of pushing dangerous villains. Kacchan had spat on his face. Honestly, Izuku loved and hated that aspect of him. Nothing would deter him and Kacchan was fearless. But he was stubborn, and it was getting too close. Izuku was damn proud that Kacchan was damn good at his job, but it came at a cost.

They killed him.

Izuku had been planning in stowing Kacchan away some place safe when word got out that villains had been targeting him specifically, and Izuku was worried he wouldn’t have the means to protect him.

He had it under control. Those villains wouldn’t have to worry about Kacchan, if they had only listened to him, he had a plan.

BUT THEY KILLED HIM.

If the world had been emptied of colour when his mother had died, then the world had emptied of sound without Kacchan.

The silence was deafening and Izuku could find no comfort in the hollow world, silenced and grey. Kacchan had been dead when he found him, surrounded by self-congratulating villains that had led him in a trap by cowardly using hostages. Izuku had killed every last one of them. He had held Kacchan’s lifeless corpse. The brilliant spark of a man, already decayed into a silent slumber.

There was nothing left in life.

The world could discombobulate, and it would make no difference to Izuku.

The villains.

The heroes.

All just piles of ash.

He stayed with the corpse as long as he could. Not wanting to let go. He couldn’t. But Kacchan’s body turned cold and stiff. No medicine, no quirk in the world could save him. There was no quirk in the world that could bring back the dead.

He searched for it.

Searched for some way to get Kacchan back.

He needed him.

God please, he couldn’t live without him.

But his hope fell, slowly like ice that melts under the heated sun.

One day he woke up and realized his hope had already melted and evaporated away. Everything did. His happiness, his life, his very reason of being. His lifelong goal to take down the fake heroes felt insignificant without Kacchan.

He kept a lock of his hair close to his heart. The only piece of Kacchan he kept.

There wasn’t much to live for after that. Izuku would fantasize about his own death, and sometimes he just wanted to end it quick. He was living off the single drive of just hunting down the ones that had planned Kacchan’s murder.

He forced himself to trudge through life. He needed resources to end the lives of the miserable sons of bitches.

Money, information, hired help.

He accomplished a lot.

He only had four more on his list to go, and then he could find peace.

Izuku had made his way into a typical bar for villains, he needed the names of one of the villain’s bodyguards, and the trail led here.

While sipping his drink, he heard a group of men in the corner.

“I fucking kid you not. She can get you anything in the world.”

Izuku tilted the glass back, probably not everything, he mused.

“What? Like steal it?”

“No, no. Well yeah. But like, the original will still be there.”

“Sooo, she’ll give you a replica?”

“Well, not exactly…”
Izuku was about to tune out the dull conversation when the excited voice said.

“She can even get you people.”

Oh?

That might make his job a hundred times easier and probably faster too.

He peeked over and saw that the goup was almost wasted. The speaker was a plain faced man with orange hair and freckles that rivalled Izuku’s.

He didn’t look like a trustworthy guy. The information might be false, either for some strange bragging rights or because the man was stupid and believed them.

Both were plausible.

But Izuku’s gut thought it might be worth to spend some time with his new friend. He snapped a photo and managed to send it to one of his confidants.

Within minutes, he had all the information he needed about the guy.

As the night waned, the group stumbled out and Izuku followed the orange haired drunk.

Within in the next four hours, he managed to knock out the man, take him back to one of his hideouts and strapped him to the chair.

He waited patiently for the man to regain consciousness.

“Oh shit, oh shit. You’re Black forest, oh shit. Please, please don’t kill me,” the man stuttered as he woke up.

Izuku raised a brow. “What gave me away

“Freckles and green hair, there’s been rumours that you’ve been hunting villains.”

“Hmm,” was Izuku’s only noise of acknowledgment.

He had been sloppy.

“Ple-ple-please. I have money. I- I’ll give you whatever you want!”

Izuku smiled, as gently as he’d smile to a newborn, “I do want something from you.”

“Wh-what,” the man stuttered, and Izuku assessed him calmly.

“Information,” Izuku answered politely with a smile, “I appreciate honesty, though.”

The man, shaking nodded his head, “O-of course. Of course.”

Izuku brought another chair out and straddled it as he gazed at the sweating man.

“I heard you said you knew someone who had a quirk that could get you anything in the world.”

“O-oh. Oh! Yes! Yes I do. She can for sure get you whatever you want. She’d be happy to. Um. I’m c-close with her. So if I talked to her…”

“You said even people.”

The man looked startled, “Um. Yes. That’s not really advertised b- by her.”

“Then maybe you shouldn’t have advertised it in the bar,” Izuku took a drag of his cigarette. He hated the stuff, but it was needed every once in a while.

“I’m looking for someone. Can she find them for me?”

The man looked afraid, a line of sweat began to form above his brow, and Izuku watched as his pit stains became more apparent.

Kacchan used to sweat a lot too, but it was always attractive.

“Um that… that quirk might not be of use to you”

Izuku raised a brow.

“I- I only mean! If you’re looking for someone s-pecifically. It doesn’t…! It won’t be the original person or the original item.”

“Explain,” Izuku said annoyed with the man’s pussyfooting.

“Her quirk is only… It’s called replace. It will only replace the thing, but it won’t be the original.”

Izuku felt his mood sour. Well, that was useless. He wanted to find the last four shitheads that were responsible for Kacchan’s death. Not replacements.

“So she duplicates the thing or person,” Izuku clarified.

“N-no. Not exactly. She brings them over from… from somewhere else.”

“Somewhere else?”

The man nodded.

“Where?”

“Um. I don’t really know. She doesn’t really know. From an alternate universe. One like our own, but not.”

Izuku stilled at that.

An alternate universe?

“Is this universe exactly like ours?” Izuku asked.

“I don’t know. Th-there’s more than one.”

Something squeezed in Izuku’s heart.

“And what if the universe you’re looking through no longer has the item… or the person.”

“Well that would be impossible. Her quirk opens up…universes with the matching structure of -of whatever you’re looking for. It will always o-open up the universe with the matching item.”

“Or person,” Izuku asked in a daze.

“We-well. It’s harder with a per-person. She usually does business with-with people looking for… things.”

“But she’s done it with people.”

“Only twice,” he said softly.

Izuku took another drag from his cigarette, feeling the burn in his lungs, but relishing in the wiriness sensation it left under his skin.

“Take me to her.”

Izuku wasn’t stupid. He knew better than to go alone, especially to deal with a girl with a quirk as powerful as this. But Izuku didn’t want anyone to sniff out his intentions. He geared up before he left, and made sure he disabled the man, Sawaza, so he couldn’t use his flash quirk. He led him into a warehouse after he texted the girl.

Entering the warehouse, Sawaza nervously called out, "Je-jericho,"

A girl popped up her head. She looked like she was still in her teens. She was not who Izuku was expecting as she had a getup of punk rock, but he’s learned to not judge.

"Who’s this?" She jutted her chin, as she sucked on a lollipop

“My name is Takashi,” Izuku smiled. No need to alarm her with his villain name or his real name.

“He needs a job done,” Sawaza said hastily.

“Tell him to wait in line. I‘ve got like six other,” she jabbed her lollipop in his direction.

“Jericho. This is urgent,” Sawaza stressed.

“Hah! I don’t take orders from you.”

“I don’t mind waiting,” Izuku piped up, “as long as you can do what I need you to do.”

“You don’t think I fucking can?”

Izuku smiled. Her attitude was familiar.

"What would you want?"

"Money," she answered easily.

Izuku refrained from rolling his eyes. How unambitious, but he supposed that was for the best. Money was easy to acquire, and easier to give.

"That's fine. You can name any price"

"I know I can," she retorted haughtily, her head held up in pride. It reminded Izuku so much of Kacchan and he was crossed between nurturing it and snuffing it out.

"So what are you looking for?" She asked.

"I'm hoping to find someone, actually."

She snorted, “You want a replication of a person? I’m just warning you know, if you’re worried about an unrequited love and was hoping to have a better shot with alternate version, they’ll probably still reject you.”

Izuku smiled, “I take it people have used your power in the past to bring over unrequited loves?”

She laughed, “You have no idea. It never ends well.”

“What makes you think I’m here for an unrequited love,” Izuku asked, tilting his head innocently.

“You’re creepy.”

Izuku laughed, “Well, despite what you might think of me, that’s not my intent. The person I’m looking for is dead.”

She raised her brows, and then chewed her lip, "That… might be hard. I've never tried with a dead person before."

“I have the utmost faith that you can," Izuku said confidently.

“I don’t know if it’ll work, though,” Jericho argued.

“What do I need to do to assure it to work.”

“I’ll need something from them. Something biological.”

Izuku thought back to the lock of hair he kept.

“Would hair do?”

Jericho looked a little skeevish but nodded.

“Fantastic. I’ll look forward to working with you.”

Jericho looked bothered though, “Is that what you want? A replacement?”

Izuku looked at her cold, “Nothing will ever replace the things that I’ve lost. But sometimes you need whatever you can to fill the void.”

Strangely, Jericho looked at him sympathetically, before hardening her face, “$ 50 million. U.S.”

Izuku smiled, “Done.”

A month went by when he got the phone call.

He dressed in a fitted black suit. Collecting all his tools and machinery to strap to his vest, suit jacket, and shoes. Lastly he wore his leather gloves which could pulse out electric shocks. He always had the mentality of being prepared.

Surprisingly, Izuku felt calm. It might be that he didn’t have his hopes up. All of this just seemed… so dreamlike, which was ludicrous to say in a world filled with quirks. But seeing Kacchan again seemed like a faraway dream… He’d take the chance though.

They met at an abandoned warehouse. A little tacky, and very cliché, but she was adamant of picking the spot.

"This is it," she promised when Izuku arrived.

The 'door' looked like some kind of mirage, the images within were hazy and bright.

"The door only lasts a month, so you better be quick with what you're looking for."

"It’s amazing," Izuku marvelled, bringing his hand to brush against the ‘door’.

Jericho ignored his fascination, and promptly checked her phone.

“I got my payment, so I’m going to skedaddle. Good luck finding your… person,” she waved her arm as she headed out to leave.

“Thank you,” Izuku smiled brightly, but the teen shrugged.

He waited until she was gone to pull out his ‘watch’. He was in good favours with an equipment specialist, who had managed to make this watch like contraption from the teens DNA. She probably wouldn’t have liked to know that her DNA was now accessible in the black market, but hey, for Kacchan, everything was necessary. He kept the last lock of Kacchan’s hair in his breast pocket, and clipped it into the watch. If what the equipment specialist said is true, this should act as a radar to find Kacchan.

Well, I have to find out one way or another.

He held his breath as he stepped through.

He was a little disappointed that there weren’t any big changes.

The only difference was now he was standing in an alleyway, but nothing he wasn’t expecting. He should count himself lucky at least, because the place looked empty.

The ‘door’ was still behind him. A strange shimmer to his world. You could faintly see the details of the warehouse. Not taking chances he pushed a dumpster over the door to hide it.

Though no one else could go through but him, and potentially Kacchan, he didn’t need someone investigating it.

It was midday, and he could see the crowd bustling in what looked like a more populous street. He stepped out confidently and began to weave through the crowds. He saw others in business suits and felt relief that this world at least seemed really similar to his.

It would be easier to blend in.

His goal was to not be conspicuous, after all.

However, the more he walked the more he felt like that goal would be harder to achieve. He felt himself become a little nervous when he noticed a few people stare at him, softly whispering.

He frowned.

He was sure he didn’t stand out. He didn’t look anything special based on his observation. It looked like this world was inflicted with quirks based on some people’s wild appearance. Was he missing something important about this world?

Some people actually bowed when he walked by and more whispering followed.

"Mommy look!"

From the corner of his eye, he saw a girl of five struggle in her mother's arms.

"Kiki, stop that!" The mother tried before the girl broke free and sped full force towards Izuku.

"Deku! Deku! Deku!" She said in a rush, her eyes in a wild excitement.

Deku?

Izuku felt his heart froze and a bitterness settle in. Only one person ever called him that. That name was not for this little girl.

But a curious thought of how a strange girl would know that nickname. Did she know the 'Deku' of this world? Would she know Kacchan?

“Deku! Please sign!” She thrusted up a colourful notepad with a bunch of bunny stickers covering it.

“Kiki!” The mother exclaimed.

Sign? Like his autograph?

“I’m so, so sorry,” the mother apologised, trying to grab her fussy child.

Izuku smiled, feeling eyes of the entire street.

Shoot.

He was not expecting ‘Deku’ to be well known. He had assumed that this world Izuku would resemble his own characteristics of avoiding any kind of limelight. He wasn’t even expecting to run into any ‘semblance’ of ‘himself’ in this world.

Everyone was waiting for him to react. He should act the part that this world expected of him. “Deku, right?” He smiled as he signed the child’s notebook.

“Ooooh!” The girl squealed.

"Oh my goodness. I’m so sorry. Thank you so much for your service," the mother bowed.

Izuku simply nodded stiffly, his smile came easily to him at least. He had no idea what that was about. The Izuku of this world was well known…. It didn’t foil his plan, but it would be a pain. He wanted to be discreet, and that proved difficult if ‘he’ was a celebrity.

Izuku waved and tried to hurry off so he could blend in and disappear.

He avoided the crowds, trying to find a quiet spot on the street to look at the tracker.

It worked like a compass, drawn to Kacchan’s essence, and he followed the needle as best he could.

The tracker had taken him into civilian residents and Izuku felt excited. Was it leading him to Kacchan's house? Won’t that be a surprise.

His heart ached as he realized the possibility that he was going to see him. Really see him in the flesh. What if he looked different? If he weighed less or never got so tall? Was he still blond? No, any version of Kacchan was better than no Kacchan. The differences were something he would look forward to explore.

Smiling at the tracker, he wondered if he should give Jericho a bonus. She could have his entire fortune, if she wanted.

"Deku?"

Izuku froze.

His name that belonged to the voice to his heart.

He wasn’t ready.

Not ready to see him.

Not ready at all for the fight needed to take him by force.

He really had gotten sloppy.

Wide eyed, he looked up to see Kacchan and his heart melted as he was exactly as he remembered him.

Blond spiky hair and red eyed, with handsome features and clear skin. Strong, still with muscles by the skin that was exposed on his forearms. Tall, though Izuku had felt satisfaction that he still had a little bit of height on him.

He might start crying.

Kacchan was in casual clothes. A rusty orange plaid button down and jeans. Something he rarely got to see on his Kacchan, only if Izuku managed to catch him by surprise in his world.

Which he kind of did, but Izuku felt like he was the one that got jumped.

Kacchan was also carrying groceries, completely nonchalantly.

It was amazing. Amazing that he managed to catch Kacchan in an average day to day task.

But that wasn’t the most incredible part.

Kacchan was looking at him with only mild surprise.

No look of hate or betrayal.

There was no screaming or charging at him.

No explosions and promises of murder.

Was this really Kacchan?

"What the fuck are you doing here?"

Ah, there it was.

But the question still had no bite. There was… familiarity, but not in any negative sense.

What was ‘Deku’ to the Kacchan of this world?

Izuku didn’t respond trying to assess the situation.

He wanted to run to him.

But he also wanted to run away.

Kacchan had successfully managed to shut down Izuku’s brain, his emotions and thoughts in tatters.

But with Kacchan, it was always complicated.

Trying to regain a footing on the situation, he tried to mimic Kacchan’s relaxed posture and tone.

"What do you mean?" He asked lightly.

"I mean, didn’t you have work until late? And why the hell are you wearing a suit?" Kacchan stalked over and Izuku could even smell the familiar sugary scent of nitroglycerin from Kacchan as he approached

Dammit.

How was he going to play this like he was the Izuku of this world? That would be risky, but so would Kacchan suspecting he was a fraud.

"I finished early," Izuku tried.

Kacchan raised a brow, “And they made you wear a suit? What? Did they pull you into a meeting?”

“Something like that,” Izuku tried to keep it vague.

Why didn’t you phone me?”

“I left my phone there. Someone’s holding on to it,” Izuku lied.

Shit, shit, shit. Too many lies were always bad when you lacked information.

“Huh,” but Kacchan’s gaze was scrutinizing, and Izuku felt one of his ‘toys’ in the seam of his sleeve if a fight did break out, “well make sure you get someone to drop it off in the morning, stupid.”

Izuku smiled and nodded, hopefully appeasing this world’s Kacchan, but he still glaring at him.

“Well?”

Izuku looked at Kacchan apologetically, unsure of what he wanted.

"Well, are you going to fucking gawk at me, or help me with the fucking groceries? You're the one that wanted katsudon," Kacchan said annoyed, shaking the bags.

Izuku’s mouth flapped up and down. This was too surreal. He wasn’t expecting this, and he was unsure how to proceed. He was planning to go into this operation aggressively, dragging Kacchan back kicking and screaming and killing anyone that would get in his way. But this was…

"Hey, are you okay?" The question was suddenly soft. A softness he hadn't heard since they were kids. Izuku felt his throat constrict, his head strained as his emotions began to fill into him like sand in an hourglass.

Izuku tried to respond and no, no, no, it really wasn’t supposed to go like this. He felt his eyes shine as he croaked out a, "Sorry."

Sorry for becoming what he had become.

Sorry for letting him die.

Sorry, just sorry.

And Izuku was expecting that Kacchan would have taken is a confession. Proof that he was a fake Izuku. He braced himself for Kacchan’s change to hostility.

But it never came.

"Hey," and Kacchan got close, "was it bad today?"

And Izuku nearly laughed. Because right now it was the opposite of bad. This might be one of the happiest days ever experienced in his life, but it was also the most bittersweet. Izuku crushed those feelings down. If he wanted to lay down the risks, he would have play the part of Kacchan’s ‘Deku’, and figure it out fast. He allowed an easy smile in an instant.

"I'm fine, Kacchan."

Kacchan glared, a more familiar face that Izuku was used to, “Don’t fucking lie to me.”

How, was Izuku supposed to act like someone else when he had no reference to their behaviours? Kacchan had his guard down. It probably would be easier to move now and knock him out quick…. But Izuku didn’t want to. He was curious. Curious about this world and the relationship they had here. It was so different. A fantasy Izuku would sometimes have, where he and Kacchan talked almost like equals… Were they equals in this world?

“I,” Izuku thought, trying to think about how he could get out of this, “I don’t want to talk about it… here.”

That was good. It opened for him to get Kacchan somewhere private.

“Fine. Let’s get home then.”

Home?

Kacchan shoved some bags into Izuku’s hands before looking at them curiously.

“The fuck are you wearing leather gloves? It’s hot as fuck!”

“You don’t like them.”

“You were at a meeting, weren’t you? I bet with the press. Do not tell me that they pressured you to wear those because of your scars.”

Hmm, this Deku had scars?

“Thought it would be appropriate,” Izuku tried to guess the proper response.

“It’s stupid. You’re not showing weakness by showing them,” Kacchan scowled as he began to head for a different direction. Izuku kept pace with him.

This was… difficult. Izuku had zero context to what Kacchan was talking about.

“Fuck. I thought you had patrol today?” Kacchan questioned, and Izuku really didn’t know what to say. He would love to talk to this Kacchan, but he didn’t want to arouse suspicion.

“What did you do today, Kacchan?” Izuku tried, which earned him an inquisitive glare from Kacchan.

“What? Is that supposed to be funny?”

Izuku wasn’t sure. He really should knock this Kacchan out. It would be less of a hassle.

He felt a kick to his ankle, and he yelped in surprise, “I was doing your nasty laundry! It was supposed to be your turn, shitty nerd!”

Laundry? His!!?

“I thought that was why you were in such a hurry today!?”

“I was on patrol, and then I went to a meeting,” Izuku tried to guess.

Kacchan’s brows furrowed, “They pulled you out of patrol for a meeting? Couldn’t you have said no?”

“It was important,” Izuku finalized.

“… but now you’re coming back home,” Kacchan said slowly.

Izuku knew how to make his posture and expression relax, but he felt like his brain was on high alert as he might be caught in a lie.

“Well I finished the meeting. So I thought it would be best go home,” Izuku tried.

“You didn’t want to go back on patrol?”

Patrol? Patrol for what?

“No, why would I?”

Something in what Izuku had said made Kacchan go rigid.

Shoot.

Kacchan was subtle when he wanted to be, but Izuku had read that body language for years. Izuku had said the wrong thing. Unnoticeably, he ran a current through his gloves. It would have enough juice to immobilize Kacchan.

They walked in silence, but Izuku felt the tension thicken and he watched for his moment to strike.

"Hey, what was that game we used to play when we were kids?” Kacchan casually asked, looking ahead at the road.

Damn.

So he did make him suspicious. Izuku had no idea if this Kacchan and his Kacchan had the same childhood. Sounds like they knew each other since then too. Jericho said that these alternative worlds were nearly identical, but there were slight changes in events for each individual person. Some were minor, like deciding to buy a different shampoo, others were monumental, like Kacchan tolerating him. But Izuku couldn’t cross off the chance that he might have lost the trust of Kacchan. He checked his gloves to see if the electric current was still on.

"With the other kids? Wasn’t it always follow the leader," Izuku tested, waiting to catch another response from him.

Kacchan tensed, ever so slightly.

Wrong answer.

Izuku wondered if Kacchan had his explosive quirk in this world.

"No, not that one. The one we played just the two of us in your mother’s apartment."

Izuku laughed.

He couldn’t help himself.

The chances of him being wrong were high with just one guess, but he was curious if this Kacchan shared similar memories. He wanted to know how much of this Kacchan was his Kacchan.

"Isn’t this the All Might game where we both dressed up like him and tried to ‘out All Might’ the other one? Did we even have a name for that?”

From the corner of his eyes, he saw Kacchan’s shoulders relax.

Bingo.

He was right

“We did. ‘My hero time’, I’m surprised you forgot the name with all those notes you take.”

Izuku hummed, “Honestly I’m surprised you remember,” Izuku murmured fondly, “we were like 4. I don’t have notes that far back, Kacchan.”

Kacchan smirked, “What? Your copious amounts of squiggled drawings aren’t documented?”

Izuku let out a laugh. They were. But he burned them all the day his mother died.

“Oh I remember one of my ‘documents’. ‘Kacchan’s marriage agreement, please sign here’,”

“Shut up,” Kacchan muttered, and Izuku wondered if he went too far until he saw Kacchan blush. He’s made Kacchan blush before. From embarrassment or frustration, but not from teasing.

What was their relationship?

In the moment, it didn’t matter.

Izuku hadn’t felt so light. His heart sang as he walked side by side with the love of his life. He never had this tranquility. Yes, he had good days in his world. Days when he got to clash with Kacchan, but this was something softer. A dream. The sun seemed warmer. The people seemed friendlier. The streets seemed cleaner.

Maybe Jericho just put him in a really good dream, because this was too good to be true.

He would be okay with that though.

The neighbourhood was picturesque, with spring flowers hanging over the sides of windows and Izuku and Kacchan making their way up the street.

The home was a beautiful white building, not too big, but Izuku wondered if Kacchan was making the same hero salary as his own Kacchan.

Was Kacchan a hero here too?

"Are you really okay?" Kacchan asked when they got in his… their home.

"I… I am now."

Kacchan frowned.

"But you weren’t before," Kacchan affirmed slowly.

Izuku couldn’t help but give him a pained smile.

Yes, but he hadn’t been doing okay for years.

"Deku, I told you. Don’t bottle that shit up. Talk to me."

"I… sorry."

"Are you going to talk to me now?"

"…sorry."

He saw Kacchan’s face transform into fury. The face he knew all too well.

Beautiful and terrifying.

"We can’t have a relationship like this, Deku. You can’t bottle shit up.”

What kind of relationship, Kacchan?

“Sorry. I… I can’t tell you.”

It was honest. It was painful, so painful. When he looked up, his stomach dropped as he saw Kacchan’s face twist in pain.

No, no, NO. Kacchan. That’s not the face I want you to make.

But he needed to be smart. He couldn’t screw up and let Kacchan know he was a fraud. Now would be an excellent time to attack.

But he didn’t

Instead, he watched in horror as Kacchan’s veins popped up on his neck as looked to the floor, as if ashamed, and Izuku only had one desire to hold him.

“I… I know. I know it was… rough with us. I’m not asking you to always come to me like a fucking therapist. But I… how, can we stay together if you don’t tell me when you hurt?”

Izuku stopped trying to analyze the situation.

He hugged him.

His body had immediately reacted when Kacchan had said the words ‘together’.

Together.

They were together.

And Izuku would take every meaning of that. He felt Kacchan freeze for a second in his arms, and he wondered if he read the signs wrong. If the Kacchan in this world and Deku didn’t have anything physical. But he felt Kacchan relax and drop his forehead into Izuku's shoulder. He felt the strong arms wrapped around and Izuku nearly cried when he realized the last time he had a goddamn hug was when he was 14. He inhaled the warm scent of his sweet Kacchan, his body heat melting something within Izuku that he didn’t even realize had still been frozen.

He wouldn’t ever let go.

Not again.

Please, god, don’t ever take him away again.

“Don’t shut me out, stupid,” Kacchan croaked, holding fast onto Izuku, like he would crumple away. And honestly, Kacchan was right to think so. Izuku felt without his most significant person holding on to him, he would dissolve away into dust.

"Never. Never. I never want that Kacchan.”

He wanted Kacchan to see his heart. Wanted Kacchan to absorb and know every part of him.

But it was too soon.

“Then?”

“I promise I'll tell you… not now. Please. But I promise.”

Kacchan was silent when he finally untucked his head from Izuku’s shoulders.

"It was something big, wasn’t it?”

Izuku half laughed sobbed.

What else could he say?

“Did you want to talk to your mother?”

There were few instances that Izuku felt blindsided. It was like finding all the furniture had suddenly been nailed to your ceiling.

Completely unexpected.

 “My. My mother?”

But Katsuki was ignoring him as he dialed his phone.

She was alive. He completely forgotten the possibilities.

No, he didn’t even consider it. It had slowly receded into time as a fact.

Kacchan was now holding up the phone, the screen bright with the words ‘Inko Midoriya.’

Izuku didn’t want to take the ringing phone. He was afraid the minute he touched it, her voice would slip away, and reality will envelope him. He had too many dreams of this in the past where he would be on the phone, wanting her to pick up, only to have the voice slip away. Or worse, when he felt he had forgotten her voice.

“Hello? Katsuki?”

He knew that voice.

Trembling, he carefully took the phone from Kacchan, who carried himself into another room.

“Katsuki?”

“Mom?”

He held his breath, dreading his fears.

“Hi baby. Why are you calling from Katsuki’s phone?”

He broke. It was too much and all too sudden. His face now overflowing with ugly sobs and fat teardrops. He hadn’t cried like this since he held Kacchan’s corpse in his arms that day.

“Baby? Baby, what’s going on?”

But Izuku was incorrigible. He was nothing more but a babe, wanting to be held by the only two people he loved. He saw Kacchan hesitate from the corner of his eyes, probably not expecting this kind of reaction. Kacchan had no idea that this was years of tears breaking out in the span of a minute.

“Shh, shh. It’s okay. It’s okay. Breathe, baby. I need you to tell me if everything’s alright. Is Katsuki okay?”

“Ah. Yes, yes,” Izuku rubbed his eyes, trying to regain his composure.

“What happened, Izuku?”

Nothing.

Everything.

“I’m just happy to hear your voice.”

“Was it a bad day at work. Did a villain hurt you?”

Izuku softly laughed, but disguised it as a hiccup.

No, a hero hurt you.

“It’s okay, mom. Sorry…”

Izuku heard Kacchan flitter through the kitchen, but Izuku could feel his eyes on him.

“Is it Katsuki? Did you two get into a fight again?”

“No, no. He’s wonderful. Perfect. I just. I’m so happy to have you, I really am. I-I miss you I just,” Izuku sobbed, “I miss you. I’m sorry. I’m sorry I couldn’t-“

“Oh, baby. Shh, shh. What’s wrong. My big hero. What’s happened?”

You died. You were dead for so long. And then Kacchan was taken from me.

“I think… Today I just really, really realized how important you are to me.”

“Oh, now you realise,” his mother said teasingly, and Izuku chocked out an ugly sob.

“Oh baby. I’m happy you called. I hate hearing you cry and not being able to hug you, though.”

“I love you mom,” Izuku croaked.

“I love you too, baby. If you need to see me this weekend, you know my house is always open.”

To see her.

“Yeah. I’ll do that,” Izuku wiped his eyes, the tears not disappearing on his leather gloves.

“Take care of yourself, sweetie.”

“You too,” Izuku said softly as he ended the call.

Kacchan was already there beside him. A cup of herbal tea poured into a cup.

“Feeling better?” Kacchan asked as he handed Izuku the tea.

“Yeah. Yeah. Thank you, Kacchan.”

“Your shit at bottling stuff, you know,” Kacchan scoffed as he tied an apron around his waist.

Izuku smiled.

Maybe in this world.

Izuku took a sip of the tea, feeling a calmness come through him. He watched Kacchan unpack the groceries and setting out kitchen appliances.

“Did you lose someone today?” Kacchan started conversationally.

Izuku didn’t know how to answer that.

“It’s part of the hero business, but it never gets easier,” Kacchan said as he started washing the vegetables.

Right, hero business. Wait… what did Kacchan and the Izuku of this world have to do with heroes?

“Also don’t be a fucking hypocrite. You nagged me to go see a therapist after I messed up in Osaka, but take your own advice and talk to people,” Kacchan stopped washing as he bit his lip, “it-it doesn’t have to be with me.”

“It’ll always be with you,” Izuku said before he could stop himself. He wanted to share every thought and feeling with Kacchan, “I just… need time.”

Those beautiful red eyes watched him thoughtfully, before Kacchan nodded and began slicing the vegetables.

Izuku felt exhausted and would have loved to do nothing but close his eyes and listen to Kacchan work his magic in the kitchen. He really wanted a moment to absorb this peacefulness. But there was work to be done.

Izuku thinks of the people’s reactions today. It was definitely a world still with heroes.

All Might even existed in this world.

And Kacchan… he had assumed Kacchan was a hero, but he didn’t have any evidence. He needed to refocus. Learn as much as he could about this world. Learn about this Kacchan and this world.

Izuku got to his feet and started to peer at the shelves. There were a few pictures here and there, some with people he had never seen before, but what really blew his mind was a number of them were pictures of this world’s Izuku and Kacchan.

They looked… close. Izuku couldn’t help but glare at his alternative sunny persona, full of bright smiles as he had an arm around a grumpy Kacchan’s waist. A strange feeling of jealousy arose. Strange because he was technically feeling jealous of himself.

He had so many questions.

Were they old school acquaintances? Roommates? Friends?

Izuku jumped when Kacchan slammed the knife on the table, “Right. I’m too distracted. I can’t cook shit.”

“O-oh. Want me to help?”

“Nah. We can have supper later,” Kacchan said as he swiftly pulled off his apron.

Kacchan moved towards him, like a cat, and grabbed Izuku’s hand as he pulled him upstairs.

“What are we doing?”

“A bigger distraction.”

Curious, he let Kacchan lead.

“Kacchan I don’t kno-“

And then the world did a backflip on top of a trapeze wire that was set aflame.

Because Kacchan was kissing him.

On his own.

Without any warning, Kacchan’s lips had moved to Izuku’s.

Kacchan took no notice of Izuku’s lack of comprehensive skills because he rolled his hips forward, moaning into Izuku’s mouth.

What the what!? Kacchan! What!?

But Kacchan was threading fingers through his hair, his mouth hot and wet. Izuku dumbly realized he’s never kissed before, and nothing could be more perfect than a kiss with Kacchan.

To his dismay, Kacchan pulled away.

“When did you buy a suit, anyway? I would have helped picked you a new one,” Kacchan smoothed his hands over Izuku’s chest, a filthy look of want.

Kacchan only had ever looked like that in his fantasies.

Izuku’s attention snapped forward when he heard the unbuckling of his belt.

“I can help take it off,” Kacchan suggested, his breath hot, the beautiful sure grin of victory on his lips.

Izuku’s hands immediately grabbed Kacchan’s.

Shit.

His hands had moved on their own, but he was afraid Kacchan might find the dozens of lethal weapons on him.

But Kacchan didn’t look bothered, instead he grinded on Izuku again. Izuku could feel Kacchan’s arousal through his jeans.

“If you need to take the lead,” another grind, “if you need that control,” a kiss to his jaw, “take it. I’m here for you,” Kacchan promised, a look of confidence filtered through his eyes.

And all of his self control broke.

Izuku leapt at Kacchan, pinning him on the bed. Sucking at his neck, gripping at the perfectly sculpted body. And Kacchan was breathless beneath him, unresisting, loud moans that Izuku never wanted to stop hearing.

He wanted this.

God, he wanted this for years, but out of respect, he never did anything. He had his chances too, when he managed to trap Kacchan, but he never went too far. A quick peck, a loving stroke. But he never unleashed his lust like this.

And Kacchan was reciprocating!

Izuku held Kacchan’s cheeks as they deepened their kiss, Kacchan allowing a soft sigh as he rolled his hips up, increasing the friction between them.

Izuku was all but ripping off Kacchan’s jeans, his beautiful toned legs were bare for him to touch. Kacchan pulled his top off in a single motion, leaving Izuku with access to drink up every detail of Kacchan’s body. Izuku had practically memorized every curve of Kacchan, but he appreciated the view again. This Kacchan was identical. To the narrow hips, to the full pecs, and the zero body hair. His eyes were the same, a stunning red full of life and a spirit that couldn’t be broken.

He was so like his Kacchan in every way.

No.

This Kacchan was Kacchan.

Kacchan switched over to cupping Izuku’s chest, and Izuku hoped he didn’t cum from just Kacchan feeling him up. He froze when Kacchan tried to pull off his suit jacket, and instinctively gripped both of Kacchan’s wrists again.

His suit was layered with villain gadgets, and what’s more, Kacchan confirmed that Izuku’s body had scarring. Something he couldn’t justify for not having.

He peeked at Kacchan’s face, worried that he aroused suspicion, but Kacchan let out a breathless laugh.

“What? You fucking me in the suit?”

“Is that okay?”

Kacchan hummed, but arched his back again so their groins rubbed against each other, “I don’t mind. Black is a good colour on you. You never listened to me before.”

“I was stupid,” Izuku muttered.

Kacchan laughed. He palmed Izuku through his suit, feeling Izuku’s erection and Izuku groaned because fuck, this was Kacchan!

“You’re eager today.”

“Because it’s you,” Izuku said, hating to think there would be even a minute this world Izuku didn’t show Kacchan eagerness and appreciation.

“Mm. Good, because I want to get fucked hard today.”

Oh.

Izuku could comply.

He flipped Kacchan over, kneading his ass. It felt sooo good, beneath his palms

“Fuck Deku,” Kacchan groaned as pushed his hips back into Izuku’s grasp.

Izuku wished he could take off his gloves. He wanted to feel Kacchan with his fingers. But that might be for another time as he remembered Kacchan’s comment about Other Izuku’s scarred hands.

Kacchan’s skin was still warm beneath his gloves, and he could feel the thickness of Kacchan’s muscled legs as he squeezed both thighs, before cupping his ass.

“Oh Kacchan,” Izuku’s sighed.

Kacchan’s breath hitched, as Izuku thumbed Kacchan’s hole.

Fuck, he wanted to fuck him so bad.

“Lube?”

Kacchan pointed to the dresser.

Izuku was swift as he banged open the dresser, grabbing the lube. He squeezed a fair amount on his finger before applying it directly to Kacchan’s pinkened hole.

“Are you going to prep me while you wear leather gloves?” Kacchan sounded dumbfounded.

“Yes”

Kacchan gave him an inquisitive stare, “Those look expens-ah!” Kacchan gasped as Izuku pressed in. He felt the heat through his glove, enchanted by how much Kacchan clenched around his finger.

This was going to be amazing.

He rubbed at him slow, and Kacchan’s breath hitched when he eased in a second finger.

“Mmf, fuck. Deku Feels weird with your glove- ah!”

Izuku pushed in a third finger, loving the way Kacchan’s hips bucked upwards.

Izuku methodically began to rub his fingers, stretching them, while Kacchan had no shame to back his hips into Izuku’s fingers.

“You look like you like this, Kacchan,” Izuku said breathlessly, his own cock pressing hard against his pant suit.

“Fuckoff,” Kacchan’s voice was muffled as he pressed his face against the sheets.

Izuku chuckled and kissed the base of Kacchan’s spine, salt evident on Izuku’s lips as Kacchan’s overheated body was glistening with sweat.

You’re exactly the same.

The only difference was Kacchan wanted him, something Izuku was going to make sure to indulge every second in.

He opened up Kacchan, making his way to a third finger. Izuku wasn’t so humble to say that he wasn’t big. He didn’t want to hurt Kacchan. Kacchan’s voice became more and more laboured as Izuku made sure to pry him open.

I want to see every bit of him.

Kacchan’s voice whined when Izuku retracted his fingers, and Izuku promptly flipped Kacchan on to his back, his expression sexy and face flustered.

“Deku,” Kacchan pleaded, and Izuku couldn’t help but crash their lips together, his hands gripping Kacchan’s waist hard as Kacchan rutted against him. Kacchan had a beautiful sanguine colour to his cheeks, his eyes glazed, and probably mirroring Izuku’s own look of lust. The sweet smell of nitroglycerin prodded the air, and Izuku couldn’t help but take Kacchan’s hand and lick off a strip of the sweat from his palm.

“Nn, fuck. Deku, please.”

His heart throbbed as he realized this was the first time he’s ever heard Kacchan beg. He unbuckled his belt, his hardened cock springing free.

Kacchan looked hungry as he looked at it.

“Fuck me. Hurry.”

Izuku couldn’t help but smirk.

“Impatient?”

“Shut up.”

Ah. He wanted to hear nothing but Kacchan’s sweet voice forever.

He lined his cock against Kacchan’s heated hole, Izuku shivered as his cock felt the smoothness and slickness of Kacchan’s lubed hole. He pushed in, gasping with how tight it was.

“Kacchan,” he almost whimpered.

And the noise Kacchan made was indescribable.

Just so perfect.

He keened and his breaths came out faster.

You’re mine. You’re mine.

He pushed himself in, trying hard not to squeeze his eyes shut, because he wanted to take in every second of Kacchan, but it was so damn tight.

Izuku groaned as felt the slickness from the lube help ease him in.

And Kacchan whined as he pushed himself down.

“Fuck, Deku.”

“Mmm.”

No words were needed.

It was good.

It was so good.

Recovering their breaths a bit, Izuku began to drag his cock slowly out, before pushing it roughly back in.

“Fuck,” Kacchan gasped, his head thrown back.

The sound squelched as Izuku pushed again. He mildly thought, maybe he used too much lube, but he didn’t care. Kacchan was so perfect beneath him.

His Kacchan kept in shape, not a strip of fat was seen on his body. Designers were always trying to recruit Kacchan for their cover photos, and Kacchan always declined because they were not worth his time. Izuku had been both happy that no one got to see Kacchan in lust driven photos, but also a little disappointed that he never got to see Kacchan pose for a camera in his underwear. But here Kacchan was, naked, gorgeous, and aroused, all for Izuku. Just for Izuku. He licked off a strip of Kacchan’s sweat from Kacchan’s chest, relishing in the content sigh from Kacchan, before pushing himself violently back in.

“Fuck!” Kacchan cried.

Kacchan gripped at Izuku’s hair, and Izuku groaned as shoved himself harder in, tightening his hold on Kacchan’s waist.

He missed this tiny waist. He missed everything. To have Kacchan like this? It was perfection.

Izuku started with an even pace, the tightness around his cock making it difficult not to orgasm right away. But he wanted to take his time. He wanted to explore Kacchan.

“Kacchan. Kacchan,” Izuku cried. He was tossed into a utopia where Kacchan was his.

Kacchan’s smell and heat became more apparent in the room and Izuku loved that he was surrounded by Kacchan’s essence.

He angled himself in, and pushed all the way in, hard enough that Kacchan cried, his palms smoked, a little crackle erupted from them and Izuku felt giddy with excitement when he realized that this Kacchan probably had the same quirk.

“Kacchan,” Izuku growled, shoving himself in, his hips snapped a bit more roughly and Kacchan shook under him.

I want all of him. I don’t want anyone else to have him.

Izuku was impressed with how hard Kacchan’s own cock was, but Kacchan made no move to touch himself.

His cock was pretty. It had turned into such an aggressive red that matched his face, and it was a decent size. Izuku gripped at Kacchan’s cock, which made his eyes fling open in bewilderment.

“De-gh!”

There was still lube on Izuku’s glove, and he began to slide his hand over Kacchan’s pretty, twitchy cock.

“Fuck. Deku. Oh!” Kacchan moaned as Izuku began to pump his hips.

Harder, harder, harder.

Izuku wanted to bury himself in. He wanted to be in every corner of Kacchan’s cells.

Sweat built up between him, Kacchan was so lively beneath him as he moved his hips to match his pace, legs entwining Izuku’s torso as he took Izuku’s cock like a goddamn champion.

His hands kept a steady pace. One thing Izuku excelled at was multitasking, so he kept his wrists in a tightened gip over Kacchan’s cock, while he became more aggressive with his hips, loving how deep his cock went into Kacchan.

Kacchan came up to him, gripping his hair, mouth on his lips as he whined and gasped, and Izuku pressed himself forward, allowing Kacchan’s messy assault on his mouth.

Izuku took the challenge as he followed Kacchan’s tongue, hands still not finished pumping Kacchan’s pretty cock and fucking him into an oblivion. Suddenly Kacchan wrenched away, his voice lost in a startling cry, and Izuku felt Kacchan convulse around his cock.

He was beautiful when he climaxed.

Izuku watched every twitch of muscle, listened to every sound.

Izuku watched in awe at the stark contrast of Kacchan’s white cum on his black gloves.

You did wonderful, Kacchan.

But Izuku wasn’t done, he kept his pace, gloves now sticky with cum as he felt his own orgasm spread through him. Fuck, how long had it been since a proper climax? Years, probably. Kacchan did his best to take the overstimulation happening to his body. He had tears in his eyes, but he never told Izuku to stop, as his beautiful Kacchan did his best to keep moving to satisfy him.

He felt it. Waves a pleasure rippled through him, as he clung to Kacchan’s hips desperately to make sure Kacchan couldn’t escape. His orgasm bubbled forward, and it felt like an actual wave washed over him, spilling himself into Kacchan, as he rutted against his plump ass.

They were left gasping, sticky with sweat.

Izuku fell forward, feeling like years of tensions and stress had been released all at once. Kacchan allowed himself to be bundled in Izuku’s arms, lazily massaging fingers into Izuku’s hair.

Izuku could honestly die like this, with his head nestled between Kacchan’s plush chest.

“You’re going to get sweat all over your new suit,” Kacchan said after a bit, still winded.

“It’s fine.”

Kacchan snorted, but he kissed Izuku on the head.

“You should take a shower.”

“What about you?”

“MMm,” Kacchan stretched, “I’m enjoying the feeling of your cum in my ass.”

Oh god.

“Really?”

Kacchan laughed, “No. Stupid. But my legs feel like squid tentacles, so go take a shower so I can get some life back into them.”

“I kind of don’t want to get up either,” Izuku confessed, but he thought to himself he probably needed time to assess the situation. It was very… different than what he had initially expected. Like a hundred times better.

Izuku got up by sheer force of will alone, Kacchan really was like the lotus trees from the Odyssey and Izuku was already a captive.

“I’ll be fast,” Izuku said in his daze.

“Mm,” and Kacchan stretched like a cat, his powerful muscles up for display.

Izuku didn’t want to leave Kacchan. Not for a second. He felt like the minute he turned the corner. Looked away. Kacchan would disappear into smoke. Steeling himself, he knew a shower would help clear his thoughts.

At least the shower was easy enough to figure out.

And it really was needed.

Izuku’s muscles relaxed under the hot water.

Kacchan.

He looked at his palms. He had touched Kacchan, not directly, except for his cock, but he had touched him. Held him. Kacchan had moaned for him. Felt good because of him.

Izuku shuddered in the shower.

I’m dreaming.

This was like an elaborate blissful dream, that he never wanted to wake up from.

His heart ached with longing. Only in his wildest fantasies could he imagine this kind of life.

He smiled to himself. Kacchan was even better than he had hoped for. Direct. Sexy. Confident. And wanting him back.

But a shadow fell over him.

This wasn’t Black Forests life. This was some other smiley Izuku’s life.

Why did the Izuku of this world get to have Kacchan?

What had the Other Izuku done in life that had landed him this existence? This Izuku had everything.

His mother.

Kacchan!?

Why did his own world curse him?

Izuku gripped on the shower handles, a dark anger spreading all the way to his fingertips. Izuku had never done anything to deserve the life in his world. He had been a child! Why had life rewarded this Izuku with everything? Why had his own world taken his mother away? If it didn’t, he would be the one with Kacchan right now!

He wanted it. This life. It should have been his. Fuck, it was supposed to be his! It was the least the universe could do for him for all the bullshit it put him through!

His dream of taking Kacchan by force slipped away. That’s not what he wanted anymore. He wanted to take the life of ‘Izuku Midoriya’ by force. In everything that implies.

He needed to kill this world’s Izuku Midoriya.

He shut off the showerhead, thinking.

Right.

New plan.

Find the Izuku of this world, kill him quick and as discreet as possible, and discard the body. No one will ever know. He’ll slip right in and take his place. He’ll scar his body however it was needed for him to look like him. Feigning memories would be an issue, but maybe he could pry some info from this world’s Izuku. Worst case scenario, he’d play the part of an amnesia victim

Izuku wasn’t really looking forwards to killing himself. He would try and make it as painless as possible.

But this was his.

He wouldn’t let the universe take anything else away from him, ever again.

He should be able to find this Izuku with the tracking device. He wondered if the device would still work because there were two biological Izuku’s, but Izuku had the advantage of at least knowing the existence of the Other Izuku.

He carefully washed his leather gloves in the sink, not wanting anything to fry, and made sure everything was in place on his suit.

He was prepared to murder his unsuspecting self.

Leaving the bathroom, he found Kacchan was still lazily sprawled on the bed, a teasing smirk on his lips that made Izuku’s heart flutter. He looked at Izuku questioningly.

“You changed back into your suit?

“Yes. I need to step out for a bit.”

Kacchan arched an eyebrow.

“Where are you going?”

“I forgot something,” Izuku thought back to their previous conversation, “my phone. I just want to see if I can pick it up now, rather than wait for tomorrow.”

“Hmm. Dinner is going to be late then.”

Izuku walked over, drinking in the sight of a naked Kacchan on his… their bed.

He pressed down, leaning in to kiss Kacchan softly on the lips, “I’ll be fast,” Izuku promised.

Kacchan looked at him with those striking red eyes, looking downright sinful.

He leaned forward, as he tugged on Izuku’s tie, “I did tell you how good you look in this, right?” Kacchan asked, with a mischievous grin.

“You mentioned it,” Izuku said with a breathless laugh.

Kacchan glided a hand down to his crotch, startling Izuku as he unzipped his dress pants.

“Kacchan,” Izuku weakly protested.

“Shush. You’re not in a hurry.”

He kind of was. The longer the Other Izuku roamed free, the more his chances of being caught.

But Izuku was very invested in Kacchan pulling out his cock.

“I want to suck you off before you leave.”

Howww, could he say no.

Kacchan was already kissing the tip, and Izuku’s cock was very interested in Kacchan’s mouth.

Kacchan licked a strip, from the base up. Izuku was stunned by the hot tongue that was working to coat his cock in saliva. With both hands, he took Izuku’s cock and guided it back into his mouth.

It was hot. Kacchan was so hot, his mouth felt indescribable as he felt Kacchan’s tongue glide over the tip, unabashed. It was starkly different from fucking Kacchan anally, but equally as good.

Kacchan’s eyelids fluttered, crimson eyes watching Izuku, and with a coy grin, Kacchan took the whole length into his mouth.

Izuku groaned, steeling himself from shoving forward, because Kacchan was swallowing around his entire length.

Izuku was half desperate to rip his gloves off so he could thread his fingers through Kacchan’s beautiful sun touched hair.

Kacchan bobbed his head, moaning, the pacing was to Izuku’s liking too.

Right.

This Kacchan would already know how to make him feel good.

Izuku watched his Kacchan look more wonton and desperate, naked as he was on his knees sucking Izuku’s cock.

“So perfect, Kacchan.” And Kacchan made an approved noise at the praise.

What a life they will have together. Every day filled with love and sex.

Kacchan started to become more vocal and Izuku felt his cock twitch, as he was ready for his second climax.

Would Kacchan swallow?

Kacchan sounded like he like the taste of Izuku’s cock on his tongue, so maybe he would. Izuku grunted as Kacchan managed to take the whole thing again and felt Kacchan’s throat constrict as he swallowed around Izuku’s cock.

Izuku moaned, “Kacchan.”

“Kacchan?”

It was one of the most surreal experiences to see himself outside of a mirror.

Everyone froze to look at the other very surprised Izuku at the doorway.

Izuku was impressed that Kacchan moved as quickly as he did, wrenching away from Izuku’s cock, but Izuku was quicker. In the seconds that the Other Izuku had entered in, Izuku was already bringing out one of his tiny needles from his cuffs and plunged into Kacchan’s neck.

The Other Izuku mobilized last, as green lightning seemed to crackle throughout his body.

A quirk!?

Impossible.

Kacchan slumped forward, the needle acting fast, and Izuku was quick to pull out a knife.

“Don’t move or I’ll slice open his neck,” Izuku bluffed, but he saw the Other Izuku freeze.

Izuku was now holding onto Kacchan with one hand, while his other had pressed the knife to his jugular. Kacchan growled in his arms.

“Who the fuck are you,” Kacchan slurred out a growl.

“Hush now, darling,” Izuku whispered into Kacchan’s ear. While his voice might have sounded at ease, this really was the worst case scenario. Being caught by both Kacchan and the Other Izuku.

“Get away from him,” the Other Izuku hissed. He was in a fighting stance, the strange green light flickering around him.

An ugly form of envy erupted out of Izuku, “Is that a quirk?” He asked coolly, keeping his voice calm.

“I said get away!” The Other Izuku shouted

“You’re in no position to make demands,” Izuku tapped the knife against Kacchan’s neck.

“Are you Toga? Why the hell were you…” the Other Izuku’s face darkened, as his eyes raked over Kacchan’s naked form.

Izuku didn’t have to guess that the Other Izuku wanted to kill him. The feeling was mutual and Izuku would probably do the same if he ever found someone sleeping with Kacchan.

“He’s not Toga. I- I asked questions. He should be you,” Kacchan answered confused, his warm body pressed close to Izuku.

Izuku placed on his most professional smile, “I am Izuku, sweetheart. Now, you,” Izuku directed at the Other Izuku, “are going to let me pass. And no harm will come to Kacchan.”

“Don’t call him that,” the Other Izuku growled.

“Or you’ll what?” Izuku challenged.

Explosions suddenly erupted from Kacchan’s hands propelling him away from Izuku, as he flopped to the other side of the bed. Izuku swore, but refocused all his attention on his other self. Izuku moved low, but watched curiously as the Other Izuku brought up his finger like he was going to flick him.

What are you…?

BOOM.

In a second, the entirety of the bedroom wall was obliterated, Izuku had barely enough time to dodge the attack.

What kind of quirk was that?

The Other Izuku moved fast that it was almost scary, the green light crackling and Izuku had barely enough time to bring out his flash bomb. He shut his eyes, as he set it off, the whole, room being illuminated in a blinding light.

He heard the Other Izuku roar in frustration, and Izuku was already on the move.

Eight steps behind me and it’ll be a five meter drop.

He didn’t have to look, he had memorized the size of the room and wasn’t caught off guard like the others. Fleeing through the whole in the wall, he landed quite gracefully on a shrub. He was quick to act, but Izuku wasn’t dumb enough to face someone with an unknown quirk. That’s how he’s stayed a live for so long. Even if that someone was ‘him’.

He tossed a muscle relaxant gas back in through the room, nothing lethal because Kacchan was still trapped in the room, but it should give him enough time to get away.

He didn’t check back to see if he was being followed. Izuku was sure he would hear the Other Izuku if he was.

Strangely, Izuku didn’t feel like he lost.

Kacchan was alive and that was one part of the victory.

The second would be to kill ‘himself’.

Izuku smiled at the thought as ran through the tranquil streets.

Notes:

For first time readers, this is a choose your own ending!

You can let Izuku decide if he wants to chase after Villain Deku or stay and make sure Bakugou is okay.

Go to chapter 2 if you choose for Izuku to stay.

Go to chapter 7 if you choose for Izuku to chase after Villain Deck

From here onwards, this will be a choose your own ending. There are 4 endings with one ‘true’ ending, two bad endings, and one crack ending.

Here’s the kicker. I’m not warning for triggers, though there’s going to be heavy content in probably all of the chapters. I’ll have a summary of the chapter at the end of each chapter, so if you want to avoid triggers you can scroll down. You are also more than welcome to message me on twitter and I will message privately if I can, about the choices.

If the chapter feels like it’s going a dark route that you’re not liking, trust your gut and back away if you need to. That’s all the warnings I’m giving.
Also, these chapters were created before a lot of the events in the manga took place, so I’m sticking with the quirk system from the anime.

That’s all, I hope you have fun with this!
