Annabeth stared at him, the words she had planned to say for a long time now stuck in her tongue.
“Annabeth, you’re scaring me,” Percy said, unconsciously stepping closer to her. “What’s going on?” he whispered, tilting his head.
She sighed. It was now or never.
Her hands, still wrapped around his shoulders, began to softly caress them.
They stared at each other, Annabeth with fear of how he might react, and Percy… well, Percy was mesmerized.
“I… I’ve been thinking…” she said, looking away. “Percy, have you ever heard of the Hunters of Artemis?”
