    Summary

Murakumo nodded wordlessly, the remaining knots in his stomach fading to something that felt like butterflies. There was still an undercurrent of anxiety, that Ookanehira was just saying all of this to comfort him but he knew Ookanehira never said anything he didn’t mean. He was so honest, unabashedly so.

It was part of his charm. And what had drawn Murakumo to him. That as loud and exuberant as he was, he was still kind and gentle and—

He needed to stop before he started to think too much about that.

    Summary

The guy holds a finger up at Yuuta and it’s gently menacing, the way he waves it in Yuuta’s face, the way his eyes say stay still without him having to say anything at all. When he seems certain Yuuta isn’t going to move, he redirects his attention to his phone and types furiously. Yuuta vaguely notices his thin gold rings, the fact that a few of the guy’s nails are painted black, scraped up like he uses his hands a lot and hadn’t bothered to repaint them.

Then the guy shoves his phone in Yuuta’s face.

Yuuta goes a little cross-eyed trying to see it. He puts his hand on the guy’s wrist to steady the phone and pull it away from his face so he can actually see whatever he is being shown. Yuuta realizes, once his fingers connect around the guy's slim wrist, overlapping a little, that touching him like this is pretty forward of Yuuta– but also this dude is shoving a phone in his face, so maybe it’s fine.

The phone is open to the notes app and says:

i’m mute. i literally can’t talk pretty much at all. stop running away from me, asshole. why are you so freaky fast?

    “Uh.” Yuuta says.

    Summary

    Nanami survived. Haibara didn’t.

Every morning, Nanami makes his pilgrimage to Haibara’s unmarked grave—a sliver of earth hidden beneath a crooked wooden stake. He brings coffee, leaves flowers, and talks to the silence, rehearsing apologies no one will ever hear.

But the dead don’t always stay silent.

As Nanami clings to rituals built from grief, a ghost stirs in the shadows, one that might just want more than remembrance.

    Summary

“I may have some coffee in the place for you,” said Prime Minister Aegir. “Let me show you how much better I have become at brewing it to your taste.”

“If you insist,” said Minister Vestra but he sounded pleased. To Delarivier, who had literally made it her profession to attune herself to his tone (usually ranging from sort-of-murder-y to extremely-murder-y), Minister Vestra sounded very pleased indeed.

Ferdinand and Hubert's long-suffering aides figure out a way to work fewer hours.

"Harold," John said, "are you asking me to marry you for your money?"
"Well, Mr. Reese," Harold said, "given how much of it you've spent already, I don't really see how you can complain."
