Summary
Rumi knew that Hawks had a crush on her. The blush every time they talked, the stuttering when they weren’t actively heroing, it was obvious. She wasn’t going to make a move, though, and was honestly ambivalent. If he asked her on a date, she’d say yes, but if he didn’t, she wouldn’t care.

Hawks knew, that Miruko knew, that he had a crush on her, but he could never work up the courage, and maybe it would be better this way, if they stayed friends. But then, Blood loss, a concussion, and a sharp look at one’s own mortality combine to make one heck of a substitute for courage.
