Dedue shifted in his seat. It would have been imperceptible had Byleth not been watching him as if he was a criminal in an interrogation.
“Not as such, but he does not want the effects to... spread.”
“Oh, I think that’s exactly what he wants,” Sylvain interrupted, sporting a shit-eating grin.
Something's up with Dimitri, and it's gotten bad enough that he missed class for the first time. Devoted professor that she is, Byleth checks up on him and discovers that the cause of his ailment and the cure are one in the same. It's her.

During a battle near Duscur, King Dimitri and the Ashen Demon are separated from their allies. They are forced to call a temporary truce and spend a few fateful days together.
It may end up helping Dimitri find some peace of his own.
