Summary
“Have I … satisfied you?” He asked slowly, past the lump in his throat.
Vren blinked. The haze within which she swam cleared suddenly, as if a breeze had swept through the room and disarmed her of her drunkenness. Estinien and vulnerability were hardly bedfellows, but she had never known him to be dishonest.
“I see you wanting, Vren. Needing.” He leaned forward, forearms against his thighs. “How might I be of service?”

“Adrestia, are you well?”
She recognized the voice as Hades’, low timbre just barely audible through the door.

Summary
It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a wife.
And in the days following their discussion, Aymeric feels like a madman because he cannot stop thinking about it. A wife. His wife.He thinks of Nuven dressed in blue and gold, padding up and down the halls of his empty house, lazing by the fireside with stacks of unanswered letters and books by her side, all with a ring on his finger that marks her as his. His little wife, sleeping in his bed and bathing in his chambers and eating at his table, his wife. It unmoors him.

Summary
“What are you doing here?” Occtis tried his best not to be too loud. If Murray heard him… he could already feel her stare burning into his missing soul and the lecture she probably rehearsed for any student up past waking hours.
Kattigan put his hands to his hips. “Are you not going to invite me up?”
“You shouldn’t be here,” Occtis said and took half a step back.
“Wait, what—” Kattigan reached up, as if he could touch Occtis if he tried hard enough. “Come on, Sly. We came back, because the others wanted to see Azune for some information and I… I wanted to see you.”
in which Occtis and Kattigan reunite after some time apart.

Summary
“I can buy my own drinks, you know,” she tells him later, projecting her voice to carry over the din of the bar. She’s wearing the nicest dress she could dig out of the recesses of her cramped closet, and yet she still feels distinctly out of place where she sits perched on the barstool beside him.
“I’m sure,” he says, violet eyes gleaming as he taps a finger against the rim of his glass. He’s looking at her in a way she can’t quite place — thoughtful, hungry. Certainly amused, as he finally goes on, “A bit of a shame though, isn’t it? Pretty thing like you shouldn’t have to.”
Arcelia is just doing her best to make it through midterms. The rich guy she meets is more interested in her doing other things.
