He would have to go undercover of course, disguise himself as a neutral third party he could goad Jay into revealing his secrets to, get him to confess–on tape!–that he was just biding his time until he was ready to leave Matt behind in the dust, a solo act on his way to fame and fortune and crowds of people fawning all over him. Wasn’t his own devotion enough? No sold out stadium or arena across the world could come close to the adoration he had at home. Matt was his number one fan.

"He had never, to his knowledge, seen Matt spitting wildly while running around backwards and on all fours. At least not at that speed. Huffing, Jay decided he had done nothing wrong. Matt was in a perfectly fine mood until they started watching that stupid movie, maybe he ended up hating it as much as Jay did after all, and was mad at himself for spending his whole Halloween night watching it over and over again. They were supposed to watch Beetlejuice. No wonder he was acting out. "

Summary
“Step one!” He exclaimed, writing on the board as he spoke. “We…get…married.” He pressed ahead, leaving no room for interruptions. Jay’s melody eased into something a bit slower, lighter, guiding Matt’s words.
“Step two! We go to the Rivoli…we say ‘Hi we just got married and this is our reception. Oh look, here comes the wedding band now!’ But OH-WHAT’S THIS?
Step three! SURPRISE! We ARE the band!” Capping the marker with a triumphant snap, Matt wheeled around to face Jay who had wrapped them up with a few joyous notes that sounded like the morning sunshine flooding their living room.
