    Dearest darlingest momsie and momsicle,

I hope this letter finds you well and not too deep into one of your creative frenzies. I’m writing because I need advice, and you’re the only ones who will truly understand what I’m facing.

Elphaba won’t be coming to Frottica for the holidays.

Or, Elphaba just wants a peaceful holiday with the people who love her, but her father has other plans. Thankfully, the people who love her are very resourceful.

    Summary

The memories of the Melting wouldn’t leave her, and neither did the grief. Glinda tried everything she could to fall asleep: switching rooms, rubbing lavender lotion on her hands, even drinking a foul tasting concoction that one of her handmaidens swore would put her to sleep as soon as her head hit the pillow (it didn’t). And even when she did manage to fall asleep sometime just before dawn, Elphaba’s screams jarred her awake.

So one night Glinda found herself sitting at the desk in her study with a blank sheet of paper in front of her. Dear Elphaba, she wrote, and then watched the words waver at the top of the page. She crossed them out and started over. Dearest Elphaba . It was ridiculous. Elphaba would never read her words again. But she found that they came anyway, faster than she could commit them to paper.

Or: Glinda begins writing letters to Elphaba in the aftermath of the Melting. When she pushes herself beyond the point of exhaustion four years later, Chistery decides to take matters into his own hands and deliver the letters to Elphaba in an attempt to save Glinda's life.

“Do you have any idea how hard today’s been?” Nancy asked, dark-eyed and hungry.

“You haven’t exactly been making it any easier,” Robin said as she ran her hand up the backs of Nancy’s legs, bunching up her skirt until she could squeeze her ass.

Nancy leaned in close and whispered, “So why don’t you do something about it?” into Robin’s ear.

“You go first. Truth or dare?” Nancy asked.

    “Dare,” Robin answered immediately.

Nancy sat there thinking for a moment before saying, “There’s not really anything interesting to dare you to do when it’s just the two of us in the middle of the night in a power outage. You should pick truth instead.”

“This was your idea, Nance, I’m sure you can think of something. Dare.”

Another pause and then a sly little smile crept over Nancy’s face and she said, “Okay, I dare you to pick truth.”

“What do you mean you’ve never caught anything? Like…anything anything?” Nancy shook her head. “After the things I’ve seen in the last year and the way you’ve handled them there’s no way I’m believing that Nancy Wheeler was an inside girl afraid of getting dirt under her nails growing up.”

“Not by choice! But it was always ‘don’t get mud on your shoes’, or ‘you can’t climb trees in a dress’, or ‘don’t touch anything, you’ll get salmonella’ or ‘stay out of the woods, it’s not ladylike to get dirt on your clothes’,” Nancy said in a deep voice mocking her father. “Catching tadpoles and frogs was ‘boys’ play’ so I just stuck to riding bikes and the playgrounds.”

Robin shook her head sadly. “You poor thing. Well, that settles it then—” She patted Nancy’s legs and moved to finally stand up. “—I’m going to teach you how it’s done, expertly, starting tonight with fireflies.”
