Summary
Quen felt peculiar up on the dais, flanked by stags and lions and wolves.
The Usurper had once been a formidable man, with blazing eyes and a massive war hammer. Now, he was just a red-faced fat man, a pathetic drunk who ate as gracefully as a half-starved hog.
His Queen seemed to be a perpetually unhappy woman. Cersei Lannister was as beautiful as the singers said, though the woman had all the warmth of a dead fish.
She might have done well in the north, Quen thought, almost pitying.
(Or: The gods in their blind malice give Theon the feeble body of a woman.)

“I promise we're not going to hurt you,” the boy says.
Like she's watching a movie, like she's hovering outside her own body, she takes stock of where she is. The exit is down the stairs. Her bag is heavy and awkward, she won't be able to run very fast with it. Her phone is in her bag. She has to make a decision.
She brings her hand up and pushes the strap of her bag off her shoulder, letting the whole thing fall with a thud to the ground, breaking the boy's grip on her arm in the process.
And then she runs.
Or, Sansa is kidnapped. Things don't go to plan. -

Summary
Years earlier, when war still raged far from the North, in the Stepstones, Rickon Stark swore an oath to King Viserys I to strengthen the alliance between North and South. The North pledged to answer the call to war, should it be required, to defend the legitimacy of Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen as heir to the Iron Throne.
In the year 121 AC, with Rickon Stark dead, the king weakened, and the Old Gods ever more distant, that oath demands to be fulfilled. A Stark must leave Winterfell.
Yet the descendants of the First Men were not born to abandon their lands, and the South does not worship the Old Gods, nor does it welcome their wolf-blooded devotees, who seldom pass beyond the northern walls unscarred.

She should not belong here, in their foreign lands with their foreign customs. She was not born to share her bed with wildlings and heathens. She is proud and noble and beautiful, and a Targaryen all the same.
