Summary
Hyunjin has always been so bright to the world. Shining, blinding. He hates seeing him like this, so weak. So fragile. The tears keep pouring till wiping them is of no use. He holds his face, his tightly shut eyes shaking. “What’s wrong?”
“I love you so much.” He opens his eyes. Pooled with crystal tears, a choked sob ripping its way out of his throat. “It hurts. I’m sorry. It hurts so much.”
Hyunjin is hopelessly in love with his best friend and he deals with it by getting drunk out of his mind. Seungmin drives him home every single night at two am, their feelings never spoken about but shared in the form of drunk kisses in the bathroom.

Summary
There isn’t a name for the swelling of his lungs when he catches the smile on Hyunjin’s lips when he sleeps. There’s no name to the way Seungmin cares for him—so deeply, intensely, fiercely. The way he aches when he sees him devoid of his usual shine, the way he thinks he’d be perfectly happy if he died with his hand on his own.
The word love to Seungmin is simple: it’s taking care of Hyunjin. It’s making him happy. It’s keeping him safe. It’s everything he imagined love must look like.

Summary
“You really need to stop propositioning me to sleep with you, you know. A little more subtlety, Hyunjin-ssi.”
It should make him feel at least a little pathetic at being so smoothly rejected, but he revels in it. Even if Seungmin keeps sweetly denying him like this, he thinks it’ll be worth it if he can see that warm look in his eyes again. “Why?” Hyunjin teasingly grins at him, taking a step forward. “I wear my heart on my sleeve. Why should I stop asking? Afraid you’ll give in?”
Seungmin laughs. “A little, yeah. But mostly because it’s not a good look for you.”

Summary
Even though they’re looking up at the same sky, his eyes hold twice as many stars. Hyunjin wants to kiss him. “Do you usually dream about me?”
Hyunjin smiles at him. His face warms. “Sometimes.”

Summary
His eyes trace the hairline cracks webbed on the faded ochre of the ceiling. The tiles of the bathroom, rounded at the edges and yellowing at the joining. The golden lighting bouncing off his body, his legs shimmering under the water. He feels tears brimming at the corner of his eyes, but no—he won’t cry.
He’ll treat this as any other day, just with a little more melancholy sprinkled throughout it. And then he’ll go to bed, and call him when he can’t sleep. He’ll tell him about the lady at the cafe who keeps changing orders halfway through, and he’ll revel in the sound of Seungmin’s laughter. And then he’ll fall asleep to the sound of Seungmin’s soft breaths. He’ll wake up next morning to a good morning text from him, a bed selfie and a picture of his cup of coffee attached.
He really, really misses him.
