Caine doesn't understand. No matter how hard he's studied, researched, observed, he can't understand humans. How is he supposed to? Every human is different! They're all so different and wonderful- makes you wonder what makes each of them so different. But he can't understand their feelings, so why should he understand his?
AKA - caine basically wants to know why the cast hate him and goes to JAX of all people and they basically divorce. AGAIN. but i wanted to write fluff and not doomed angst so you get that lil sprinkle of "why am i writing gay boys making out in a public restroom" . have fun!! <3

Before he left though, Jax took a look at the pinned drawing on his mirror. It was a sketch Caine made at some point, where he opened up for the first time to Jax.There were drawings of the cast and him hanging out together Laughing. Having fun, atleast.Jax was the most prominent in them though. Four drawings total, sitting with Caine, or just spending time together. Caine told him how he really wants to understand the humans. About how much he wanted them to love him, in the same way he does.

Then, he felt something. He wasn’t sure how to describe the feeling, but it was like the strumming of a string in his stomach. Like his body knew that something was back, and that something was calmer now. He was sure the feeling was collective, because everyone’s heads shot up.
“He’s back.” Pomni said. “Near the carnival.”
“Who wants to go find him?” Zooble asked, sounding like they would dread it if they themselves were picked.
Jax found himself speaking before he even realized it. “I’ll do it. I’ll go find him and bring him back.”
OR: Kinger didn't delete Caine, just rebooted him, and now Jax has to go retrieve him.
