Summary
“Good morning, Ms. Tursun,” Rui said as always, her voice light as she bowed to her boss.
Wumuti didn’t respond. She couldn’t. Not with the way Rui was walking closer and closer. Step by step. Slow and measured. For every step she took, the scent of the perfume only grew more intense, until she finally stopped directly in front of Wumuti.
“I hope you don’t mind,” she started, her voice teasing, almost flirting, “I forgot to put on perfume this morning, so when I had to get your new fragrance from the lab, I just had to try it on.”
Silence.
“Do you like how it smells on me?” She asked, as she clasped her hands behind her back, and leaned forward subtly.
Or, Wumuti is her boss. She’s off-limits. She’s also the only person Rui has ever wanted this badly - and when mixed signals turn into a confrontation, Wumuti stops pretending she feels nothing.
