Summary
Leon reminded himself that he was a reasonable, levelheaded adult, but as he listened to your explanation, his feelings spiraled out of control again, because you were right. He was jealous. The idea of you with anyone but him, drove him absolutely mad. And pained insecurity had him unwisely saying, “This is because of Redfield, isn’t it? You don’t want to be exclusive, in case you change your mind about him.”
Your lips thinned out as your eyes narrowed, you tried to recall that he was fragile and had abandonment issues and he’d been doing so well up until now. So you had to forgive him for his childish lapse. But you were going to give him more of that sincerity he had asked for. “No, but I have to tell you that I do find Chris attractive. I don’t want anything with him, but I’m not going to lie and say I’m immune to his charms. I know he likes me. Which is why I never go anywhere with him, just the two of us. As long as he’s respectful, I’m not going to avoid him, he's my friend's brother. The point is, you and I are together as friends with benefits because we want to be, and if we can’t have faith in each other then why even bother?”
