When Kaveh yawned himself awake, expecting–hoping–to find his usual flowered mug on the counter, he was surprised to see it wasn’t there. In fact, the pot was still empty, and it looked as if nothing had been touched that morning.
basically Alhaitham is sick and Kaveh is stuck helping and caring for him all week. he totally hates it guys, why don't you believe him????

Summary
Kaveh never took Alhaitham as one to forgo logic in any situation. But he was different when it came to Kaveh. He was foolish and anxious and unsure around him. His hands, though strong and gentle, seemed to hesitate in certain situations. Maybe it was a lack of experience. Maybe it was a bit of fear of messing something up. Fear of judgement, faltering, whatever the case was. But Kaveh did not take this lightly. He knew the value of Alhaitham’s trust, cradling it protectively and carefully, making sure to reassure him that he was safe, that he was doing well, and most importantly, that Kaveh loved him. He loved him so very much.

Kaveh could feel Alhaitham’s piercing stare on him, poking a hole right through his chest where his heart was. “Why would you be upset for me, when you know I don’t need or want you to be?” Alhaitham thought for a while, then said,

Summary
He knows that Kaveh would be unlikely to put much effort into protesting if Alhaitham simply asked to hear it again.
He knows that Kaveh rarely turns down doing anything that is asked of him, and that he'll bend over backwards to give and give and give.
He knows he can get what he wants without ever finding out whether it aligns with what Kaveh wants as well.
Asking Kaveh explicitly is, thus, off the table.
What is not addressed by that statement is Alhaitham's newfound tendency to look for openings; situations that could, one way or another, with a string of decisions that are on par with cheap Inazuman light novels with their lack of common sense, end up with him feeling Kaveh's pulse.
Or,
Alhaitham is just a little obsessed with Kaveh's heartbeat. So much so that he hears it ghosting over his ears whenever he doesn't have his headphones on. Shenanigans ensue when said headphones get broken.

Alhaitham opens his mouth to respond, giving way to a hoarse cough before words. “Unnecessary. Don’t bother yourself over something so inconsequential.”
“Haitham, darling.” Kaveh murmurs in a low, syrupy tone, cradling his lover’s face and feeling Alhaitham melt under his touch. “Let your senior take care of you.”
