    Whereas Kiryu had had a decade to learn how to embrace the peace of a quiet evening and to relish his own company, Majima was climbing out of his skin and up the walls within days. The cracks were showing and Kiryu had fooled himself into obliviousness under the warmth of endless summer sun. As the fierce heat of July raged, Kiryu was a tinderbox looking for a spark, and Majima was a kid with a book of matches.

    In 2007 Majima leaves Kamurocho with Kiryu and Haruka, choosing humdrum beachfront domesticity over the passions and vibrancy of the city that beat within him. Chafing at newfound constraints that tighten as he settles into a quiet life, he turns to desperate measures from his past to feel the blood burning in his veins once again.

    The only problem is, Majima isn't the only ex-yakuza in Okinawa who is burying a sleeping beast at their core.
