Summary
Kim Doyoung is a detective on the Special Crimes unit at a precinct in Seoul. But he is far from your regular cop. He's neck deep in shady affairs - fraternizing with the bad guys, paying off his brother's debts, keeping his father alive, trying to keep a job that barely pays all the expenses only because it lets him access his mother's files.
1 year ago, Doyoung's life turned upside down when, by police reports, his mother killed herself. She left no notes that were found, her husband had a stroke at the news, and her two sons who were both detectives found very unhealthy coping mechanisms. Gongmyung started drinking and gambling. Doyoung obsessed over his mother's case and became a shady cop.
Things were almost going fine, one year later, messed up but regular, until a new detective transfers and becomes Doyoung's partner in an active case. Lee Taeyong. New in Seoul, with a somewhat mysterious history, Taeyong seems more dangerous than any of the people Doyoung deals with.
