Summary
Jaeyun. Sunghoon mouths the word. The word seems to want to be in his mouth, and once it is in his mouth, it sits there cozy and warm.
“Jaeyun?” He says it out loud, the name, and he gets no response. The body is fully unconscious now but still breathing. Sunghoon looks at him, at Jaeyun, and he understands that there’s no one else here, that there’s no boat that has come in, no shipwreck.
I cannot leave this here, he thinks. I cannot leave this here, and I cannot bring any other person near it, because if anyone else came near it I don’t know what would happen, what they would do, and I do not want to know.
And then there is another thought underneath all of these. This washed up onto my sand. This is for me.
Or: For six years, the sea has been Park Sunghoon’s only company. Then she gives him Jaeyun.

Summary
Sunoo clicked his tongue at Jake's clueless face.
“The principals nephew, the son of a top business man, and a regular town kid who’s brother committed suicide last year on these school grounds,” he counted the three names down on his fingers, “all gather in a locked library a few times a week to play chess? You don't think that's weird?"
The mention of one of the boys caught Jake's attention. Enough to almost distract him from the immense detail of Sunoo's story.
“Is this public information or did you find these through sketchy ways again?”
Sunoo hesitated. “Well, nothing’s illegal until you get caught.”
At Easton College, known for a student’s mysterious rooftop suicide, Jake gets involved with four students that lead the school's chess club behind locked doors of the decade old school library and his quiet days unravel as his and another student's past coincidently collide, revealing a dark truth and thrilling feelings.

Summary
Hilted by the neck, Jaeyun agonizes over the grieving hatred he sees on the other’s eyes. What used to look at him with the dearest regard now turns monstrous and dark.
“Maybe you’re sick in the head. You missed me this way? Missed having me hovering over you, hand around your neck?”
“Burn in hell, Lee.”
“Only if you do too, baby.”
Alternatively:
Once Heeseung was old enough to man his family's mob proceedings as the heir of the Lee clan, he finds himself betrayed by his dearest, unaware that Jaeyun only did it out of duty as the son of their town's governor. Years later, a familiar threat forces them to meet again and form a working alliance to navigate the web of secrets and shadows binding their families.

Summary
“Now no one can see us.”
Jake rolls his eyes. “Now it’s even more obvious what we’re doing.”
Riki’s smile widens; Jake can see the shine of his teeth. “Yeah? What’re we doing, hyung?”
Or: Sharing a bed with Riki is great. Except they're also sharing with Sunghoon. And the cameras are always rolling.

Summary
Jake sets his face into a hard mask of indifference, tipping his chin up to peer right into Riki’s eyes, “You’re still that pup I spoiled by never saying no to. You haven’t changed one bit.”
Riki jerks back, hurt and offense splashed in plain detail over his countenance. His eyes shutter after his words sink in, and he releases Jake, taking two steps back. “Maybe pretending like you’re above this makes you feel better, hyung, but you want me. Get over yourself.”
(Riki has always known what he wanted from Jake—two kids, a dog, and a picket fence. The whole sickeningly domestic package. But Jake? …Not so much.)
