Summary
POST-PARIS AU.
For twenty years, Andrea Sachs kept her pride intact and her distance measured. She built a respectable career as a journalist, kept her modest apartment, and stubbornly refused the opulent world Emily Charlton constantly tried to offer her. She accepted the expensive gifts and the breathless nights, but she never gave up her independence—convinced that if she fully yielded, Emily would eventually get bored and leave. But when a devastating professional betrayal at the New York Times leaves Andy with nothing, her carefully constructed walls finally crumble. Moving into Emily’s imposing townhouse was supposed to be temporary. Instead, it becomes the ultimate test of their unspoken twenty-year arrangement.

Summary
"Do you always come to the door dressed like that?" Emily heard herself ask, and immediately hated it, because it had come out as though she'd noticed, when the entire point was that she had not.
"Only when someone knocks." The corner of the woman's mouth went up. "Should I have changed? You'd have waited. I'd have liked knowing you were out here waiting for me."
"Is this how it works over here? You do a favour and then flirt with the woman on your doorstep and call it neighbourly?"
"Is that what you think I'm doing? Flirting?"
--
Or the one where Emily ends up letting the vampire who is great with her children drink her blood once a week for purely practical reasons. Like super practical. So practical. Please stop looking at her like that, Serena.

Summary
Once Andy scooped her Maltese from the floor and cuddled her to her chest, she was suddenly hyper-aware of the wall separating apartment 1205 from 1206. Which was ridiculous. They couldn’t even hear one another most times — she hadn’t even been sure someone lived next door for the first two days of her stay; the building was old, the walls thick enough that they barely carried sound.
“I don’t even know her name, Nellie,” she complained to her dog, who licked her cheek in response. “Yeah, I know I’m a mess.”
or... Miranda and Andy are next-door neighbors.
